Wow, new digital singles are getting rush released by some record labels because of the upcoming school holidays period, and that's great news for digital music buyers.
New releases on the Top 120 are:
"Whatever U Like" by T.I. is the 1st single of his album "Paper Trail" and that song is No.1 in the U.S. this week for a 3rd week, and it was performed at the VMA's!!
"Whatever U Like" is at No.117!!, and the album is out at the end of October i think.
"Keeps Gettin Better" is at peaking at No.33 and should rise even more once the music video is released.
"Closer" has returned to the Top 10 at No.10!!, after the idol performance.
"Electric Feel" has stalled at No.8!!, and should rise hopefully.
Here is the current Top 10:
1.Pink - So What 2.Lady Gaga - Just Dance 3.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours 4.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 5.Metro Station - Shake It 6.Rihanna - Disturbia 7.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold 8.MGMT - Electri Feel 9.Kings of Lion - Sex on a fire 10.Neyo - Closer
Heys Guys, Im having a bit of trouble with the Itunes site. When i click on the link i have a bit of trouble entering it and the link doesnt process properly
Well actually, its not the link that isnt working, its when i click onto the site the link works its just that whenn i get to the site i comes up with lots of links everywhere and no info
"Weekend Wars""by MGMT, peaking at No.96!!, could it be another album track or the 2nd single, i don't know??
"Whatever U Like" by T.I., is now peaking at No.60!!, and i would like to see it in the Top 10 soon, it's one of the best hip-hop songs i've heard this year.
"What's Your Name" by Usher is at No.53!!
"Radar" by Britney Spears is at its highest peak so far, currently at No.51!!.
"Wiggle It" by Ricki-Lee is at No.33!!
"Keeps gettin better" by Christina Aguilera is at No.26!!, the highest peak, and i would like to see it at No.1 soon.
1.Pink - So What (24th day in total at No.1) 2.Lady Gaga - Just Dance (#1 highest peak for 9 days) 3.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (#2 previous peak) 4.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (highest peak so far) 5.Rihanna - Disturbia (previous peak No.3)
Britney's 'Radar' has been so close to hitting the Top 50, but once Womazier is released i think it'll start to drop off. I'm surprised Christina's new track hasn't climbed quicker, i thought it'd be at least Top 15 by now!
I hope Rihanna drops down. I'm not a fan of her song. I actually hope it doesn't crack the top 5. #6 is the peak is more than deserves plus it's been there multiple weeks so go away and let Kings of Leon & MGMT have higher peaks.
Rihanna should crack the top 5, with Disturbia being available for physical release.
Britney's Radar is now @ #44. If it cracks the top 40, i think we might see her chart on the top #50. Meanwhile, the music websites are going crazy over Womanizer. Looks like it won't premiere 'til midweek.
Itunes Top 120 Chart Update: Wed 24th Sept, 8:00pm.

A few Cyndi Lauper hits have returned to the chart, including "Girls just wanna have fun" at No.89!! Another possible new single from Jonas Brothers, is at No.54, it's "Tonight".
"Wiggle It" by Ricki-Lee falls to No.52!!, physical sales will save her from charting hell. ""Whatever You Like", the former No.1 U.S. single from T.I., is at No.51!!, could go higher i hope.
Good to see "Radar" by Ms.Spears in the Top 50, at No.46!!.
Kanye West is out of the Top 25, unfortunately, as "Love Lockdown" falls to No.31. "Use Somebody", which might be a 2nd single from Kings of Lion is at No.23!!

Phrase "Clockwise" is at No.111!!

"Whatever U Like", the 1st single from T.I.''s album "Paper Trail" is at No.34!!, and could upsurge.

After 25 weeks in the Top 20, "See You Again" drops out of the Top 20, to make room for other songs.
After peaking at No.12 so far.. Christina Aguilera's comeback single "Keeps Gettin Better" fell to No.20!!, but it will upsurge again.

Hey Brandon, I love ur updates on the Aussie Itunes. I was wondering if you could update the daily top 20 chart by posting it on here as I don't get on here everyday to check and it'll hope us all when we make our predictions so we can see which songs have moved up or down. If you can do that that'll be appreciated.
Yes, from now on i will post daily updates about The Top 20, this should help all of us with our weekly predictions:
Itunes Top 120 Update: Monday 13th Oct, 10:00pm.
Wow, the Top 20 has changed a lot, and there is a new No.1 single "Sex on a Fire" by Kings of Lions, and other new releases.
"Womanizer" is stalled at No.5!!, but should rise once all music channels get the steamy music video, and once all radio stations play the song. It's still early days for the track, and it should hit No.1 by the end of the year.
Jessica Mauboy has reached a new peak of #4, her record label will be happy about that, and it's good to see an Idol runner-up have some success on the charts.
Here is the Top 20:
1.Kings of Lions - Sex on a Fire (New Peak) 2.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (stalled at peak) 3.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (Former #1 peak, for 15 days) 4.Jessica Simpson - Running Back (New Peak) 5.Britney Spears - Womanizer (Former #4 peak) 6.Pink - So What (Former #1 peak) 7.Lady Gaga - Just Dance (Former #1 peak) 8.MGMT - Electric Feel (Former #6 peak) 9.Metro Station - Shake It (24th week in Top 10, Former #1) 10.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 11.The Ting Tangs - Thats Not My Name (New Peak) 12.Kings of Lion - Use Somebody (New Peak) 13.Nickelback - Gotta Be Somebody (New Peak) 14.Rihanna - Disturbia (Former #3 peak) 15.Neyo - Closer 16.Miley Cyrus - 7 things 17.Jordin Sparks - One Step at a Time 18.T.I - Whatever U Like (New Peak) 19.Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiz Me 20.2nd hand Serenade - Fall For You (New Peak)
Here are the peak positions for Fall For You on the US Charts:
US Billboard Hot 100: #21 US Billboard Hot Digital Songs: #14 US Billboard Pop 100: #8 Us Billboard Pop 100 Airplay: #7 US Billboard Top 40 Mainstream: #6
Pink is now #6 on Itunes. I will be surprised if this is #1 this week. However she should reclaim the top spot the following week after her performance at the Aria's. I sort of feel that it's wrong that Pink is performing at the Aria's when it isn't premoting Aussie music nor is it by an Aussie artist. Jessica Mauboy should be performing not Pink. Pink should be a guest present IMO.
I'm Not Dead went 9x platinum and is still on the charts, and her tour produced 32 shows (most of them sold out). That has to be one of the biggest selling albums this decade and is the highest selling tour by a female artist in history.
So Pink has every right to be there, considering I'm Not Dead had a more subdued sales elsewhere.
Nothing against Pink, I congratulate her on her outstanding achievments with her I'm Not Dead album but my point is that the Aria's are all about the Aussie's & Aussie music. It's not about recognising the success of international artists. So with that said I feel that it's wrong that an international artist is performing on a night about Australian music. The Aria's will have no meaning to them if international artists are going to be the ones headlining the award show. I really believe Tha Aria's should be premoting Aussie talent, not showcasing international talent.
Gabriella Cilmi, The Potbelleez, Sam Sparro, The Presets, The Veronicas, Delta, Vanessa Amorosi, Darren Hayes, Faker, Pete Murray, Sneaky, Kylie, Powderfinger, Casey Bowditch or whatever her name is and even any of the Idol stars should be the ones performing. We have plenty of Aussie talent.
I hear Metro Station & Katy Perry are performing at The Aria's too.
Rhys, I agree with you that Aussie's should be the ones being recognised. Perhaps these international artists could perform at The Aria's but not be televised but if that were the case then they wont perform and they wont be premoting themselves which is really why they are doing it, plus more ppl might tune in to watch Pink.
Pink should perform at the Arias, because she is a special guest, but ONLY Pink.
Katy Perry and Metro Station are staying behind for the Aria awards, that's great, but if they perform it would be unfair on the Australian artists.
Aria awards should be about local australian talent, no need for talented international artists to perform, it might overshadow the popular australian artists.
It's great to see Gabriella Cilmi have success in U.K and Europe. Hopefully Gaby cracks the tough U.S Market.
1.Kings of Lion - Sex on a Fire (stalled at peak for 5th day) 2.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back (highest peak yet.) 3.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (previous #2 peak) 4.Jason Mraz - I'm Not Yours (Former #1) 5.Pink - So What (Former #1) 6.Britney Spears - Womanizer (Former #4 peak) 7.Lady Gaga - Just Dance (Former #1) 8.MGMT - Electric Feel 9.The Ting Tams - That's not my name (New Peak) 10.Metro Station - Shake It 11.Kings of Lion - Use Someone (New Peak) 12.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 13.Rihanna - Disturbia (previous #3 peak) 14.Neyo - Closer (Former #7 peak only) 15.2nd hand Serenade - Fall for You 16.Nickelback - Gotta be somebody 17.Dizzee Rascal Flatts - Dance Without Me 18.T.I - Whatever U Like (previous #17 peak) 19.Empire of the Moon - Walking on a Dream 20.Miley Cyrus - 7 Things
The ARIA awards have had very BIG effects on some songs (even more than last year)on the iTunes chart:
The Presets have 3 songs charting within the Top 50: My People has risen to #13 (their highest peak on the iTunes chart was #12), Talk Like That is sitting at #17 and This Boys In Love is at #44.
The Living End have also enjoyed a big boost, up to #14 with White Noise.
Black & Gold re enters at #20 and Sweet About Me has climbed to #27.
Old hits from The Potbelleez (Don't Hold Back) and Faker (This Heart Attack) have also re entered the Top 50 at #40 and 50 respectively.
The Presets "Talk Like That" is No.15!! highest peak yet.
No.11 is "My People" by The Presets, the song has reached it's highest peak yet, this should upsurge the song next week, making it surpass it's previous peak No.19, and enter the Top 15.
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Kings of Lion - Sex on a Fire (stalled at peak, for 9th day) 2.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (stalled at peak) 3.Pink - So What 4.Britney Spears - Womanizer (same peak) 5.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours 6.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back 7.The Ting Tangs - That's Not My Name (Highest peak) 8.MGMT - Electric Feel 9.Lady Gaga - Just Dance (mass decline in sales) 10.Metro Station - Shake It (25th week in Top 10) 11.The Presets - My People (Highest peak ever) 12.Kings of Leon - Sex on a Fire 13.The Living End - White Noise 14.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 15.The Presets - Talk Like That (Highest peak ever) 16.2nd Hand Serenade - Fall for You 17.Rihanna - Disturbia 18.Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet about Me 19.Sam Sparro - Black & Gold 20.Empire of the Sun - Walking on the sun
The press coverage of the Aria awards today, has really helped Aria nominees, winners and losers all gain sales again.
After 25 weeks in the Top 10, Metro Station fall, to make room for other artists.
Gaby benefits from the press releases and Idol performance has "Sweet About Me" ascends back into the Top 15, now peaking at No.14!!
A lot of songs from Aussie artists are ascending, including "My People" which has peaked at No.5, the highest peak of the band's career on the Itunes Singles Chart.
Descending: means that a song is falling down the chart, and having less sales
Ascending: means that a song is rising again, reaching new peaks, or just returning to the chart itself.
When i put "I guess", it means that i think that the song has gained sales or has less sales then usual.
"I hope", means that i truly wish that the song will chart higher, soon.
I hope my posts are easy to understand.
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Kings of Lion - Sex on a Fire (stalled at No.1) 2.Pink - So What (ascending again, i guess!!) 3.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold 4.Britney Spears - Womanizer (possible ascension, i hope!) 5.The Presets - My People (New Peak, highest ever for band) 6.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (descending slowly, i guess!) 7.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back 8.The Ting Tangs - That's Not My Name 9.MGMT - Electric Feel 10.Lady Gaga - Just Dance (descending, i guess!) 11.The Living End - White Noise (ascending, i hope!) 12.Kings of Lion - Use Somebody 13.The Presets - Talk Like That (New Peak) 14.Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet About Me (ascending, i guess!!) 15.Metro Station - Shake It (slight sales decrease, i guess!!) 16.Kid Rock - All Summer Long (sales decrease, i guess!!) 17.Sam Sparro - Black & Gold (ascending again!!, i guess!!) 18.Rihanna - Disturbia (sales decrease, i guess!) 19.2nd hand serenade - Fall for you 20.Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream
Kate Miller Heidi debuts at No.113 with the album track "Can't Shake It", the single track is at No.79!
No.101 - "Save The Lies" by Gabriella Cilmi.

Rattlin' Bones by Kasey Chambers and her hubby, debuts at No.84!!
"Alive" by Natalie Bass, has ascended to it's highest peak ever, No.32!, congrats Nat!
Beyonce "If i Were a Boy" has ascended to a new peak of No.17!!, after only one day of sales.
"Talk Like That", by The Presets, has now peaked at No.12!
The Top 10 is the same, as it was yesterday with little movement.
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Kings of Lion - Sex on a Fire (10th day at #1, sales boom!) 2.Pink - So What 3.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (Former #2 peak) 4.Britney Spears - Womanizer (stalled at peak) 5.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours 6.The Presets - My People (Former #5 peak) 7.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back (Former # 3 peak only) 8.MGMT - Electric Feel 9.The Ting Tangs - That's Not My Name 10.Lady Gaga - Just Dance 11.Kings of Lion - Use Somebody 12.The Presets - Talk Like That (New Peak) 13.The Living End - White Noise 14.Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet About Me 15.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 16.Metro Station - Shake It 17.Beyonce - If I were a Boy (Highest peak so far) 18.Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream 19.2nd Hand Serenade - Fall For You 20.Rihanna - Disturbia (descending sales, i guess!)
Sam Sparro and Living End, are both out of the Top 20, but Gaby and The Presets are both in the Top 15, both benefit from a mass upsurge in post-Aria sales.
Gaby didn't enter the Top 10 at all, and only made it to No.14, in the post-Aria's sales upsurge.
After experiencing a massive sales upsurge, The Presets "My People" is at No.8!,sales are slowing down slightly, after peaking at No.5 earlier in the week, the only Aussie band which benefited the most from the awards aftermath.
1.Kings of Lion - Sex on a Fire (No.1,12th day, sales boom!) 2.Beyonce - If I Were a Boy (sales upsurge, new peak) 3.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (Former #2 peak) 4.Pink - So What (Former #1) 5.Britney Spears - Womanizer (Former #4 peak) 6.Jessica Simpson - Running Back (Former #2 peak) 7.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (descending slightly) 8.The Presets - My People (Former #5) 9.The Ting Tangs - That's Not My Name 10.Lady Gaga - Just Dance 11.MGMT - Electric Feel 12.Kings of Lion - Use Somebody 13.Empire of Sun - Walking on Dream (ascending,New peak) 14.The Presets - Talk Like That (Former #12 peak) 15.Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet About Me (only #14, post Aria's) 16.Kid Rock - All Summer Long 17.T.I. - Whatever U Like (returns to previous peak) 18.Metro Station - Shake It 19.2nd Hand Serenade - Fall For You 20.Pussycat Dolls - I Hate This Part (New Peak)

Kings of Lion have been No.1 for 23 days in a row!!! A drought that hasn't been witnessed since Metro Station "Shake It" which stayed for No.1 for 18 days. "Sex is on a Fire"' has now surpassed that record.
"Sex is on a Fire" now holds her record for longest run at No.1 on Itunes, for 23 consecutive days.
"So What" holds the record for longest run at No.1 on Itunes, but only NON- consecutive days. The song was No.1 for 24 days in total.
If Kings of Leon are No.1 tommorow, then they will equal Pink's record of 24 days at No.1.
If they are No.1 on Wednesday, then Kings will have acheived the longest running chart topper of 2008 on Itunes, so far.
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Kings of Lion - Sex is on a Fire (#1 for 23rd consecutiv day) 2.Beyonce - If I Were A Boy (stalled at peak, awaiting #1) 3.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (Former #2) 4.Pink - So What (slight decline in sales) 5.Britney Spears - Womanizer (upsurging sales) 6.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back 7.Lady Gaga - Poker Face (highest peak so far) 8.Kings of Lion - Use Someone (highest peak) 9.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours 10.The Ting Tangs - That's Not My Name 11.Pussycat Dolls - I Hate This Part 12.MGMT - Electric Feel 13.Pink - Sober 14.T.I - Whatever U Like 15.Natalie Bassing - Alive (New Peak) 16.Lady Gaga - Just Dance 17.The Presets - Talk Like That 18.Empire of the Sun - Walking on Dream 19.Metro Station - Shake It (decline in sales) 20.Rihanna - Disturbia (steady sales)
Australian Itunes Top 120 Update: Thursday 6th Nov, 3:30pm
Current Top 10:
1.Kings of Leon - Sex on a Fire (#1 for 26th consecutive day) 2.Beyonce - If I Were A Boy (stalled, awaiting #1) 3.Lady Gaga - Poker Face (New Peak, ascending rapidly) 4.Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (Former #2 peak) 5.Pink - Sober (New peak, contender for #1) 6.Kings of Leon - Use Someone (New Peak) 7.Jessica Mauboy - Running Back (Former #2 peak) 8.Pink - So What (Former #1 ) 9.Britney Spears - Womanizer (Former #4 peak) 10.Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (decline in sales)
Kings of Leon, have the honour of having the longest running No.1 chart hit of the year on Itunes!! 26 consecutive days, which is equivalent to 4 weeks at No.1, that's a milestone especially against tough competition from the divas Beyonce, Britney Spears and Katy Perry.
A change has happening, in this new digital age and it comes down to music video and lyrics. The now infamous lyric "Sex" is what created a massive upsurge in sales for the song.
Here are the current Top 3 songs, which have occupied the No.1 position for the most number of days:
1.Kings of Leon - Sex on a Fire (#1 for 26 consecutive days)
2.Pink - So What (#1 for 24 non-consecutive days)
3.Metro Station - Shake It (#1 for 18 non-consecutive days)
Wow, will be interesting to see how Britney does this week with the release of her physical and with decreasing digitals judging by her current #9 peak on Itunes. She should peak in the top 3 this week but I doubt she will have enough omph to get to #1. Her song hasn't been as big as I thought it would be.
Itunes Top 120 Update: Sunday 9th November, 12:30am
After 28 long days at No.1, Kings of Lion have been knocked off, finally. The fire has been distinguished.
28 days is more than enough, although "Use Somebody" might climb to No.1, ya never know.
Hopefully the song doesn't return to No.1 and spoil it for other artists, like Beyonce, T.I and Britney Spears, who all desperately need a No.1 peak.
Change has come.... to Itunes Australia, at last!!
Lady Gaga has the honour of dethroning the Kings. Her new single "Poker Face" has become her 2nd No.1 single on Itunes this year, for the talented new American artist. Well done!
"Poker Face" has experienced a rapid upsurge in sales, over the past week, ascending the song from 38, 24, 17, 7 to 3, and now 1.

Burn won't get to #1. My prediction is that it will peak at #8 or #9. "Alive" however will be here for a while, as "So You Think You Can Dance" is coming back and her two songs will definately chart better.
Someday Soon, is starting to grow on me, but I think it's chart life will decreas than it shouldve as it gets relesed digitally and physically on the same day, a bad movie if you ask me, although if the songs a huge radio hit, the sales put together could mean a debut at #1.
I am not as avid as some on this site, but this is what will happen based on my views:
Burn will get Top 5 next week, as long as it sustains it gains. If it holds onto the #1 spot for the rest of the week, it definitely be Top 3 next week.
I agree with you billbeast when you say that iTunes isn't everything (Wes Carr's performance over the last month is an excellent example), but, these days, iTunes is a lot.
To be honest, billbeast, I think your love of Brit may be blinding you to the figures. But as I said, I am not as avid as y'all so take my baseless comments with a grain of salt.
Circus was well ahead of SIngle Ladies all week. But it wouldn't be surprised that other editions of the single were being bought on iTunes as well which sometimes explains a lot. i mean If I Were A Boy has an entry in the 40s and the 60s.

What is the sudden interest with Jess Mauboy's song?
I don't mind her song but find it odd that it was moving slowly up the chart and last week bulleted up the top 10 when previous weeks was only moving 3 or 4 spots?
The reason for Burn suddenly peaked quickly because of her public performances (NYE and 20/20 Cricket performance). On Australian day eve (25/01) again she will perform at the National Hall in Canberra and the show will be live broadcasted. I think she wont go away for another week at least.
I liked "Burn" from the beginnig. The calbum is okay, with "Time After Time" is the next best track after 1. "Burn" and 2. "Running Back". But i doubt it will bew a single as it's a cover, and well quite frankly it won't chart i don't think.

Taylor Smith still at #1 with Love Story on itunes! I think her battle against Flo Rida for the official ARIA #1 is not over. Next couple of weeks will be interesting. We have not seen a #1 battle like this for some time. Sales are so close.
The Proclaimers had just finished their run at the top...Madonna takes over.
The following 14 weeks were like nothing you've ever seen before at the top!...
26.03.89 Like A Prayer - Madonna 02.04.89 She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals 09.04.89 She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals 16.04.89 Like A Prayer - Madonna 23.04.89 She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals 30.04.89 Like A Prayer - Madonna 07.05.89 Like A Prayer - Madonna 14.05.89 The Living Years - Mike & the Mechanics 21.05.89 Like A Prayer - Madonna 28.05.89 Eternal Flame - Bangles 04.06.89 Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler 11.06.89 Eternal Flame - Bangles 18.06.89 Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler 25.06.89 Eternal Flame - Bangles
An ode to the charts of June/July 1989. >> On 04.06.89 Bette Midler charges from #6 to #1 with Wind Beneath My Wings. Kate Ceberano bullets from #11 to #2 with Bedroom Eyes and Bangles Eternal Flame slips from #1 to #3. Then Kylie Minogue debuts at #4 with Hand On Your Heart. Even worthy of a mention is Julian Lennon's Now You're In Heaven which peaked at #5 but from memory was #1 that week on the AMR chart. >> On 11.06.89 there is a resurgence from the Bangles who are back up from #3 to #1, knocking down Bette Midler to #2 and Kate Ceberano to #3. Kylie stays put at #4. >> On 18.06.89 Bette is back at #1. Bangles are down to #2. Kate and Kylie are stuck at #3 & #4. Roxette sneak up from #7 to #5 with The Look. >> On 25.06.89 this time Bette takes the dive from #1 to #3. Bangles are back at #1 from #2 and Kate back to #2 from #3. Roxette is up to a new peak of #4 , while Kylie gives up her shot at chart supremacy falling from #4 to #5. >> On 02.07.89 when it may appear it is finally Kate's turn at the top, Roxette charge from #4 to #1 (where it stays for 6 weeks), and Kate misses out stuck at #2 (for next 4 weeks) before New Kids On The Block come along. >> Meanwhile Bette Midler and Bangles continued their chart combat with each other as they fall down the chart: 02.07.09 Bette #3 then #3 then #4 then #6 then #5 then #10; Bangles #4 then #4 then #3 then #5 then #6 then #8. I remember this unfolding week after week watching the Rage Countdown. Great stuff!
Good info Dave. The one I wrote I also enjoyed while watching the Rage 50. Ah the memories. If stupid Rihanna had not gotten to #1 that battle could have gone on for 4 more weeks. Last edited:
Oh I remember that Flaunt It / Forever Young battle, one of the most boring moments in the ARIA history. Especially since these 2 dirges didn't want to die. Thanx heavens Sandi Thom beat TV Rock for the #1 spot of the 2006 year end chaart.
Well Flo Rida is plummeting down the itunes chart today down to #4, while Taylor is holding firm at #1. I think our chart battle will continue, Taylor WILL grab back the ARIA #1 this week.
I remember the chart battle of 2006, but I also remember the chart battle in early 1996 when Shaggy's 'Boombastic' and Oasis 'Wonderwall' went head to head for over a month. Every week I would watch rage just to see which one would grab it.
I still think #1 this week is Flo-Rida's. Despite Taylor being #1 on iTunes (and Bigpond) for over 2 weeks, Flo Rida has still been the overall digital #1. He dropped to #4 on iTunes last week too for a couple of days.

BIG I-TUNES SHOCK!!!!!!! AR Rahman is #2. How did this huge surge happen. It was #6 on Sunday. Also Dead And Gone has made a massive rebound. No idea why. Last edited:
itunes is so volatile with songs yoyoing by the day depending on tours, tour anouncements, album releases, song being played on SYTYCD, rove or sunrise.
More importantly is sales over the whole week rather than one or 2 days while a song surges and then drops back down. Which makes me think AR Rahman surge to #2 will not place it at #2 on ARIA this week, more likely it will rank in the #5-7 range on ARIA due to sales over the whole week.
Surely Evermore, Taylor, Flo Rida and 3OH3! will all be above AR Rahman this week on the ARIA chart due to consistent sales across the week and physical sales.
I am very dissapointed... iTunes has provided Australia with a much needed boost on the music market... However as they are gaining a monoply on sales i have noticed this week that a single price song has now climbed from $1.69 - $2.19 this is really unfair considering i can buy a physical copy with many track for $4 at JB-Hi Fi... I have no doubt that's why Taylor Swift - Love Story took a tumble it's just not feesable...
I agree but there's another version of Love Story( the one from the Deluxe edition of the album, which costs $1,69) that is climbing quite quickly, up to #56. If you combine both versions of the song, she must be charting at #3 overall.
Anyway, you can be sure that this version will climb a lot and that the other will drop like a rock.
GO P!NK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love "Bad Influence" but there are songs far better on the album. This is the songs, worthy of single release (and in order )
So What Ave Mary A Please Don't Leave Me This Is How It Goes Down Sober Funhouse Bad Influence Crystal Ball
I hope "Bad Influence" can crack top 10, maybe even a new #1?. I doubt it, but i hope that it's another top 10 song to her list of long running Australian hits.
Although Itunes isn't really what makes the chart, i think it's a really good indicator, of what the chart will be.
"Jai Ho" at #2?. PCD need another #1, and maybe this could do it.
"My Delrium" has cracked top 10. I really didnt think this wood make it past #40 on the singles chart, but what do i know, lol.
I never expected "Love Sex Magic" to fall so quickly, i thought it was #1 within 3 weeks, but barely making top 5 on singles chart is a shock to me.
Great, "Miley Cyrus" has another top 20 single on the way, plus im expecting 20 or so of her songs to enter top 100 singles chart all from digital sales when the Hanna Tomana movie comes out. IAC.
"Sugar" by "Flo Rida" and "Bad Influence" by "P!nk" will definately enter top 50 singles chart this week.
"Lady Sovereign" is at #58 currently on The top 120. I hope she gest top 50 singles chart, as her new album is heaps better than the first.
Lol, sitting at 118 is "Hurt" by "Xtina". Thought it was pretty funny.
Itunes Top 300 Singles Update: Wed 15th April, 12:00am

"Bad Influence" has been announced as Australian 4th single. She's doing what happened with "Im Not Dead" singles, and only releasing to oceana countries, because there not doing to well elsewhere.
I haven't been waiting for him. I could do without any more music from Eminem. Particularly stuff that is the same as everything he's done before or plain crap. Lose Yourself and Stan were great, but everything else from him was pretty mediocre. He should have disappeared like other novelty artists.
I did not mind Without Me and Lose yourself but everything else from him is shit. I have not been waiting for him either but many other people have. Last edited:
Wow! Go Ladyhawke, what is causing this surge? I was hoping she would eventually go top ten on aria and looks like it might happen in the next week or two.
It might be due to some of the singles that were keeping it out of the top ten having their prices now set at $2.19. Love Sex Magic is prematurely out of the top ten, no doubt due to this, and Dead And Gone is heading the same way. And some older songs like Gives You Hell and The Fear are finally falling too.
These hits are currently peaking below the Top 20.
71. - Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up (New Peak) 61. - Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas (New Peak) 43. - Green Day - Know Your Enemy (New Peak) 42. - The Lonely Island - I'm on a Boat (New Peak) 34. - Kevin Rudolf - Welcome to the World (New Peak) 29. - Pink - Bad Influence (New Peak, Top 20 entry soon!) 23. - Pitbull Terrier & Lil'Jon - Krazy (New Peak, movie hype)
After 15 consecutive days at No.1, 3OH!3 have been knocked the top spot. As predicted "Jai Ho" by A.Rahman & PCD is the new Itunes No.1 single!!, congratulations!!
A.Rahman and Pussycat Dolls are having success on Itunes in other countries, currently No.5 in Greece, No.4 in Finland, No.3 in U.K, No.2 in Ireland and New Zealand!!
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Ar Rahman & PCD - Jai Ho (New Peak, 1st day at #1) 2.3OH!3 - Don't Trust Me (Former #1 peak) 3.Taylor Swift - Lovestory (Former #1 peak) 4.Eminem - We Made You (Former #3 peak) 5.Evermore - Hey Boys & Girls (Former #2 peak) 6.Ladyhawke - My Delirium (New Peak) 7.Flo Rida - Right Round (Former #1 peak, sales decline) 8.Beyonce - Halo (Former #2 peak) 9.Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (Former #3 peak) 10.T.I & Justin Timberlake - Dead & Gone (Former #4 peak) 11.Lady Gaga - LoveGame (frequently stalled at peak!!) 12.Jessica Mauboy - Been Waiting (New Peak) 13.Lily Allen - Not Fair (New Peak, approaching the Top 10!!) 14.Ciara - Love Sex Magic (Former #4, premature decline) 15.Lily Allen - The Fear (Former #2 peak) 16.The Script - Breakeven (New Peak, massive upsurge) 17.All-American Rejects - Gives U Hell (Former #2 peak) 18.Wes Carr - Feels Like Woah (Former #14 peak) 19.Eric Hutchenson - Rock N Roll (Former #7 peak) 20.Miley Cyrus - The Climb (Former #17 peak)
"Boom Boom Pow" is at #2 (hopefully this means big jump into top 5 on ARIA singles chart).
"Bad Influence" is at #15. I hope it will be a itunes #1 soon.
"Foreign Land" by "Eskimo Joe" is at #17. Great, i can't aboslutely wait for this piece of shit (IMO) to chart.
"Waking Up In Vegas" at #23. She should make top 50 this week.
"Can't Get Over" by "September" is finally charting. Although it sounds similar to "Cry For You" i love it. Hope it makes top 20 on ARIA Singles chart.
"Differently" is at #32. I hope this gets inside top 10 itunes, which should propel it to top 10 sucess.
"I Do Not Hook Up" will debut this sunday on ARIA charts, it's at #40.
"3AM" by "Eminem" is chartying at #43. Great he'll debut this Sunday too.
"Lisa Mitchell" also has a itunes #44 song. "Coin Laundry" (IMO) is disgraceful, and shouldn't rise higher on tunes.
Wow Eskimo Joe at #17. Not sure whether to be happy or sad. I am a huge fan of them especially The Black FingerNails Red Wine stuff. All 5 Singles off that Album were awsome.
But (yes there is a but) their new single Foreign Land was a huge disapointment. I was highly anticipating their new single and when I finally get to hear it, it was surprisingly crap. Come on Eskimo Joe what happened to you why this. Hope they release some Black Wine sounding stuff soon. Last edited:

Hopefully video single sales for Jai Ho! can keep it at number 1 for a second week. I'd hate for the Black Eyed Peas to go #1. It's really their 1st single I haven't been a fan of.

I only call them dicks because they are annoying. Oviously everyone has different music tastes and opinions and unfortunetly more people like Boom Boom Pow then they hate it.
I think Boom Boom Pow is a big hit in clubs and calls for alot of people to download it after a big night. I've noticed people on Facebook are using it in their statuses after a night out. So in reality intoxication may be the result of this goin up the charts.
Last Saturday night when I was out the song did come on and the reception wasn't that big for it compared to Day N Nite, Jai Ho & Love Sex Magic (even older songs like Show Me Love, Disturbia, The Way I Are & even Baby Got Back had more people bustin a move) but people seemed 2 love saying the words BOOM BOOM POW throughout the night.
On one occasion one bloke went up to a chick and got rejected and his mates saw. When he went back to his mates their 1st response to him was Boom Boom POW!!!!!! Was actually funny to watch but it was probably a moment you'd have to be there for.
I agree the song is stupid but I think it's Black Eyed Peas trying to start a new trend/quote. Personally I wish they'd take some of their own advice and "SHUT UP".
I love the Black eyed peas, i have their last two albums and will most likely buy their next, but im not a big fan of boom boom pow. Its alright, i mean ive listened to it a fair few times but i was hoping for more. But the song is doing really well and im glad it is. I hope their next single is better, but boom boom pow will satisfy me until the 2nd single.
1. Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas (NOT dicks) 2. Breakeven by The Script 3. We Made You by Eminem 4. Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny) [feat. Nicole Scherzinger) by Ar Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls 5. Justin Timberlake) by Ciara 11. Bad Influence by P!nk 12. The Climb by Miley Cyrus 13. My Delirium by Ladyhawke 14. Halo by Beyoncé 15. Right Round (feat. Ke$ha) by Flo Rida 16. Foreign Land by Eskimo Joe 17. Been Waiting by Jessica Mauboy 18. Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry 19. Beautiful (feat. Colby O'Donis & Kardinal Offishall) by Akon 20. Feels Like Woah by Wes Carr
Looks like we might have a new #1 this week. I thought Jai Ho! would have been premoted more with the release of Slumdog Millionaire but suprisingly it hasn't. Well if it has I haven't heard it.
After SBS aired the Eurovision Song Contest final, these songs have charted. Most of the songs are taken from the Eurovision compilation cd, except for Alexander Rybak who has a digital single release?
Never before have i seen so many Eurovision song chart in Itunes!!, after the contest ended, it's great!

Alexander Rybak, The Norwegian winner of Eurovision is getting a lot of media attention worldwide!! It's good to see Eurovision fans take action! and buy the single on Itunes!
If today was your last day is a amazing song and the music video is really good as well. Once the music video is realised to tv it should fly up the charts.

I'm surprised how well Eurovision songs are doing on Itunes. Never before have there been this many Eurovision songs doing so well. Not a fan of it but I did check out the Final on SBS to see what all the fuss was about and the music on it was so weird it is not funny. Thank christ we don't live in Europe. Hope to god that all these Eurovision tracks do not have anymore success then they are already getting. Last edited:

Itunes Top 120 Singles Chart Update: Mon 1st June, 7:30pm
Chart Commentary:
"Boom Boom Pow" by the BEP, is at No.1 for the 32nd!!!! consecutive day. 32 days!! what the fuck is going on??, It seems to me that the song is experiencing a constant and neverending sales growth!!
"Boom Boom Pow", now equals Flo Rida's record for the most number of days at No.1 on Itunes, for this year.
Can't wait for the 2nd single "I Gotta Feelin", to debut, much better song!! i love it!
Elsewhere on the chart, Nickelback has risen to No.24, a new peak!!, i'm happy that the new single is charting !!
Aria and Grammy award winning band Wolfmother is back!!, the comeback single "Back Round" is currently at No.86!!
Lady Gaga's 5th single "Paparazzï" has arrived, prematurely!!, peaking at No.18, too early for the single to be released, especially when "Lovegame" is still charting in the Top 10.
But anyway, what an excellent song!! The "Paparazzi" video clip was released recently, love it!! it's like a mini-film that runs for 7 minutes!!, fantastic, it's a must see!!, hoping that the song will go all the way to No.1!!
Katy Perry's 5th single "Waking Up In Vegas", has suddenly risen from #10 to #6 peak!!, wow!!, it's a dark horse to become the next Itunes No.1!!
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (sales overload!!) 2.Rob Thomas - Her Diamonds (stalled at peak) 3.The Script - Breakeven (Former #2 peak) 4.Lily Allen - Not Fair (stalled at peak) 5.Miley Cyrus - The Climb (New Peak) 6.Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas (New Peak, dark horse!!) 7.Eminem - We Made You (Former #2 peak) 8.Lady Gaga - Lovegame (Former #4 peak) 9.Pink - Bad Influence (Former #6 peak) 10.A.Rahman & PCD - Jai Ho (Former #1 peak) 11.Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up (stalled at peak) 12.David Guetta & Kelly - When Love Takes Over (New Peak!) 13.Linkin Park - New Divide (Former #2 peak) 14.The Hilltop Hoods - Chase That (stalled at peak) 15.3OH!3 - Don't Trust Me (Former #1 peak) 16.Eskimo Joe - Foreign Land (stalled at peak) 17.Shinedown - 2nd Chance (New Peak) 18.Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (New Peak, sales growth!!) 19.Taylor Swift - Lovestory (Former #1 peak) 20.Evermore - Hey Boys & Girls (Former #2 peak)
I think sales overload is an understatement. LOL. The more we hate Boom Boom Pow the more popular it becomes so I will lie and say it is a decent song. Maybe now it start to fall. LOL.
I too am thrilled Nickelback have climbed up ITunes. Could be a Dark Horse for the Top 20. (Get it, Dark Horse LOL.) Last edited:
35th consecutive day at No.1 for "Boom Boom Pow", the longest running Itunes chart topper for this year so far, a new record!!
Yeah, i'm also sick of seeing "Boom Boom" at No.1 every day!! it's just too long, time to give other artists a chance like Rob Thomas or The Script.
I have uncovered other dark horses...
Pussycat Dolls "Hush Hush" is a strong contender for the next No.1, so is "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga, and "Not Fair" by Lily Allen, also a dark horse for the next #1. Good Luck!
Hope to god that don't happen. Should be between Rob Thomas and The Script for the next ITunes #1. Or it might be a song that pops out of nowhere like Linkin Park did.
It will be I Gotta Feeling. It's already #10 after one day. The Script may start to fall soon as they've been around #3-#4 for several weeks now. I can't see Rob Thomas being #1 either
It certainly looks like I Gotta Feeling is heading for the top over the coming weeks though it wouldnt surprise me if BBP gets 6-7 weeks at the top, its still got quite a lead on itunes. IGF will probably enter top 3!.
I think the dark horses over the coming weeks will be Paparazzi and When Love Takes Over, both videos will be all over TV in the coming week or too, I'm sure both will shoot to the top 5 once they manage top 10 on itunes.
Agreed that Her Diamonds won't reach #1 now though.
I agree, the new dark horse for the next No.1 is "I Gotta Feeling"!!, personally i adore the track, it's very addictive, much better than "Boom Boom Pow".
Currently peaking at No.6, "I Gotta Feeling" should be the next No.1!!
Yes, "Paparazzi" and "When Love Takes Over" are still dark horses, and deserve No.1 peaks.
"When Love Takes Over" physical is out soon!!, can't wait to see the music video!!
It would be like so cool if I Gotta Feeling got to No. 1, they'd have TWO #1's in a row, wouldn't that be awesome lifter?
The best song is like Jump (feat. Nelly Furtado) by Flo Rida. I rekon it's like the sickest song, and Bonkers (Radio Edit) by Dizzie Rascal is awesome too.
Ohhh and Like a Boss by The Lonely Island XD
BTW LoveGame is officially OUT of the Top 10 4 evaaaaaaaaaa
And I take back what I said ages ago about Her Diamonds being No. 1, personally I don't even like the song.
!! 1. Boom Boom Pow - BEP 2. Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas 3. I Gotta Feeling - BEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. I Do Not Hook Up - Kelly Clarkson 5. Breakeven - Script etc...etc... no one cares about the rest.......
1. Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas 2. Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas 3. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas 4. Breakeven - The Script 5. I Do Not Hook Up - Kelly Clarkson 6. Not Fair - Lily Allen 7. Bad Influence - P!nk 8. The Climb - Miley Cyrus 9. Waking Up In Vegas - Katy Perry 10. We Made You - Eminem 11. LoveGame - Lady GaGa 12. Paparazzi - Lady GaGa 13. When Love Takes Over (feat. Kelly Rowland) - David Guetta 14. Second Chance - Shinedown 15. Jai Ho - PCD 16. You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift 17. Because - Jessica Mauboy 18. Love Story - Taylor Swift 19. New Divide - Linkin Park 20. Foreign Land - Eskimo Joe
Wow. Looks like I gotta feeling may take over Boom Boom Pow.
Another song climbing up is "Because" from Jess Mauboy, currently its at #17.
1. Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas 2. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas 3. Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas 4. Breakeven - The Script 5. I Do Not Hook Up - Kelly Clarkson
I will predict I got a feeling will hit #1 by end of the week and will be the next ARIA #1 as well. BEP's to replace BEP's at the top of both charts. Might be some sort of chart records here this year.
Funhouse (Deluxe Version) is at No.2 on the album chart...wtf??
Maybe its cuz she's had so many hits the price has gone down heaps cuz of complete the album thingo... Or... because of her conserts?? And So What is #10 on the music video charts... And she has heeeeeeaps of songs in the top 300 likeeee... #5 Bad Influence #40 So What (Single) #41 Please Don't Leave Me #62 Sober #74 Funhouse #96 Just Like a Pill #100 So What (Album) #120 Get the Party Started #133 Family Portrait #139 Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) #154 Don't Let Me Get Me (Radio Edit) #185 God is a DJ #209 Trouble #272 Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely) #298 Who Knew #299 Most Girls
Top 10 @ the moment.... #1 Boom Boom Pow - BEP (uhhhh soooo longgggg) #2 I Gotta Feeling - BEP #3 Breakeven - The Script #4 Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas #5 Not Fair by Lily Allen #6 Paparazzi by Lady GaGa (gone down one this arvo) #7 Bad Influence - P!nk #8 Waking Up In Vegas - Katy Perry #9 The Climb - Miley Cyrus #10 I Do Not Hook Up - Kelly Clarkson
IMO, I Gotta Felling is better then Boom Boom Pow. If any Black Eyed Peas track has to be #1 it's I Gotta Feeling. Even though I don't really like it it does show more talent then Boom Boom.
La Roux's 'In for the kill' has climbed to #39 on the back of JJJ rotation. Last week it was mostly in the #50s This is my 2nd tip for upcoming track. My questions on the weekly thread were will this go top 40 on ARIA singles chart. It is a real chance now the week after next.
I predict 'the letter' will go top ten on itunes within 3 weeks, maybe 2 weeks.
'In for the kill' I think will peak in the mid-low 20s in coming weeks.
'Papparazzi' has soared this week there is no denying however I cannot see BEPs being dislogged from the top 2 with their album being released this very week.
This is the new James account just so everyone knows, so instead of thanking James for finding the top 1000 charts (which only one person did ) you can thank me now
Itunes Top 3000 Singles Chart Update: Sun 14th June, 9:00pm
Chart commentary:
It's over!!! "Boom Boom Pow" loses it's hold on the No.1 ranking, finally!! rejoice!
After a very long 45 days!! 45!!! consecutive days at No.1, "Boom Boom Pow" falls down to No.2, to make way for Lady Gaga!!! Victory at last!!
Gaga takes over as the new No.1, mentioned last week as a dark horse contender. Yes!! "Paparazzi" is the new No.1 it's her third ITunes No.1 single, 2nd for this year and 4th Top 15 single, overall.
"Just Dance" - #1 peak, (9 consecutive days in August 08') "Poker Face" - #1 peak (50 non-consecutive days over 3 months Nov, Dec & Jan 2008/2009) "Eh Eh" - #12 peak (4 non-consecutive days in February 2009) "Lovegame" - #4 peak (2 consecutive days in May 2009) "Paparazzi" - #1 peak (1st day at No.1)
A chart surprise, as Lady Gaga has spoiled BEP's chance to create chart history. "I Gotta Feeling" was tipped to takeover as the new No.1, but suddenly "Paparazzi" jumps, from #3, #2 to No.1 in a matter of hours causing "I Gotta Feeling" to fall down one position to #3, wow!
A shock loss for "I Gotta Feeling", because the song was ascending rapidly, then stalled at #2 for a few days! I guess that Black Eyed Peas will have to wait a while to have their next Itunes No.1, but i really hope "I Gotta Feeling" peaks at No.1, eventually.
Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" is the 9th chart topper for this year, so far. BEP's "Boom Boom Pow" now holds the record for the longest running chart topper, breaking Flo Rida's record.
*************************************************
Here is the tallyboard for the Itunes No.1 Singles of 2009:
1.Lady Gaga "Poker Face" - (5 consecutive days at #1) 2.Jessica Mauboy "Burn" - (14 consecutive days at #1) 3.The Fray "You Found Me" - (23 consecutive days at #1) 4.Flo Rida - "Right Round" - (32 consecutive days at #1) 5.Taylor Swift - Lovestory - (19 consecutive days at #1) 6.3OH!3 - Don't Trust Me - (15 consecutive days at #1) 7.A.Rahman & PCD - Jai Ho - (12 consecutive days at #1) 8.Black Eyed Peas - BB Pow - (45 consecutive days at #1) 9.Lady Gaga - Paparazzi - (1st day at peak)
*************************************************
Here is the current Top 20:
1.Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (1st day at #1, rapid sales upsurge) 2.Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (Former #1, sales drop) 3.Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (Former #2 peak) 4.Lily Allen - Not Fair (stalled at peak) 5.The Script - Breakeven (Former #2 peak) 6.Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas (Former #4 peak) 7.Pink - Bad Influence (Former #5 peak) 8.Rob Thomas - Her Diamonds (Former #2 peak) 9.Miley Cyrus - The Climb (Former #5 peak) 10.Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up (Former #4 peak) 11.Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me (New Peak) 12.Eminem - We Made You (Former #2 peak) 13.David Guetta - When Love Takes Over (Former #11 peak) 14.Lady Gaga - Lovegame (Former #4 peak) 15.Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush (New Peak) 16.Jessica Mauboy - Because (New Peak) 17.Taylor Swift - Lovestory (Former #1 peak) 18.2nd Chance - Shinedown (Former #14 peak) 19.Linkin Park - New Divide (Former #2 peak) 20.Hilltop Hoods - Chase That Feeling (Former #14 peak)
Maybe Paparazzi will only get a few days at No. 1 because I Gotta Feeling is back at #2, but unlikely because Australia always take forever for new No. 1's to come around
After a very short stay at No.1, "Paparazzi" falls to No.2!! OMG!! 3 days at No.1 only!!
1.Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (1st day at No.1)
"I Gotta Feeling" has peaked at No.1!!, finally!!, the band's second Itunes #1 single for this year, congratulations!!
Hopefully sales will be strong enough to knock off "Boom Boom Pow", and create Aria chart history again!! "I Gotta Feeling" is now tipped for a #1 peak next week on the Aria singles chart, will it manage to get to No.1, with no physical sales?? i hope so.
Other New Peaks:
3.Lily Allen - Not Fair (stalled at peak) 6.David Guetta - When Love Takes Over (New Peak, massive sales boom!, a dark horse for #1) 14.Jessica Mauboy - Because (New Peak) 18.Beyonce - Sweet Dreams (New Peak, ascending rapidly)
I Gotta Feeling has no ope of being #1 this week. Boom Boom Pow will spend a 6th week on top due to several formats charting... When Love Takes Over as a dark horse... it seems anything that goes top 5 is a dark horse with you.. and how is it a massive sales boom gliding from #11 - #5 is probably like 150 sales on itunes...
Read the posts. I have only been gone for 3 days and there have already been 2 new ITunes #1's since Sunday. I'm actually glad "I Gotta Felling" has replaced Paparazzi and thats coming from the soft rock guy LOL. Even though I don't like IGF it's still better then the yuck Paparazzi and the even more yuck Boom Boom Shitty. Why is "Because" in the Top 20, it's terrible and PLEASE STOP rising 'Sweet Dreams". Beyonce is such a chart hog. Is she this years Rhianna, no that title belongs to Lady CrapGa.
NateBoi: You have to admire his ethusiasm, it's what this site needs LOL. Last edited:
Musikkk, while you can't get the popularity bar on that link, if you go to the iTunes store, you can see the popularity by setting the column. It's handy for seeing how big a song's lead is.
Great predictions Musickk (James), you guessed right and now "I Gotta Feeling" is at No.1!!
Oh well, I don't expect everyone to like my posts Nateboi, and i tend to exaggerate and sensationalise changes that occur in the charts. I'm a journalism student and i like to write a lot.
Brandon your posts here add a bit of flair to itunes chart commentary in an otherwise occasionally boring space. Keep up the good work and free speech.
I declare a massive sales boom to When love takes over #4 now, you belong to me #7 and in a lovely suprise Chase that feeling is up to #8! I think it is a chance of ARIA top ten now!!!
Good to see Nickelback achieve Top 20 success on I-Tunes which I did not think would happen. We need more rock in ITunes and people have oviously thought the same thing with Linkin Parks huge climb into Top 5.
Apart from Linkin Park the Top 5 is shitty I will agree Clinton. Last edited:

That's good I hope there is no reason. I would like to feel I encourage debate with my questions and comments and make people feel comfortable to post there comments as well.
I don't think there would be a reason for it. Sometimes though there is just nothing to discuss in this thread if there is little to no iTunes activity.
MICHAEL JACKSON is set for another massive week on the singles chart check this out now...
#7 Black Or White. #8 Man In The Mirror. #11-#84 You Are Not Alone. #12 Will You Be There. #14 Billie Jean. #16 Heal The World. #17-#81 We Are The World [USA For Africa]. #20 Thriller. #21 They Don't Care About Us. #23 Smooth Criminal. #29-#100 The Way You Make Me Feel. #30 Smile. #31 Beat It. #39 Can You Feel It. #42 Bad. #43 I'll Be There [Jackson Five]. #44 Ben. #49 ABC [Jackson Five]. #51 I Want You Back [Jackson Five]. #56 Blame It On The Boogie [Jackson Five]. #59 Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough. #65 Gone To Soon. #72 Remember The Time. #74 Thriller Megamix. #82 You Rock My World. #83 Dirty Diana. #89 Rock With You. #90 Who's Lovin' You [Jackson Five]. #97 Wanna Be Startin' Something.
Papparazzi returns to #1 again for it's second run at the top. Battlefield is now up to #4 and is now seriously challenging as the next chart topper. Personally I would love MJ to grab the itunes #1 posthumously. Black or white is now #6, Man in the mirror #7 and Will you be there is #9. Last edited:
Leapin jesus! MJ is killing it with the ballads and my fave from his is climbing at a rate of knots! I would be more than happy if 'Smile' made it into the TOP 50 & it would be more than fitting if he did have a posthumous #1 considering his over all popularity.
What is causing the popularity in 'Papparazzi'? Gaga is no longer in the country doing a fly-by promo tour, it IS the 5th single and for me far from her best. Seems odd it is in the top 3 at all. Yes BB I am also hoping 'Smile' (currently at #31) guns it over the coming days.
I'm very happy to see Paparazzi back on top, even though my hate for I Gotta Feeling is slowly decreasing. Paparazzi is a close second to Poker Face for me as far as GaGa singles go.
It's expected for MJ to drop unless a surprise concert emerges reminding people of individual songs. As much as I would love his songs to hang around longer in the Top 50 it's not going to happen. It;s best just to focus on the albums charts I feel. Personally though I would love radio to pick up MJ's version of Smile to allow that to be turned into a hit.
I know - Brandon keep posting again! I like your exurberant and over-the-top postings. Yes Radio should pick up and focus on a Jackson hit or two to keep them on the charts. Sure to be unknown material should be released by MJ posthumously to give him more hits.
A second factor has hit itunes (other than the massive MJ) - a number of the songs from the the top 100 JJJ best of all time are in the itunes top 100. E.g. Jeff Buckley is the higest placed on itunes today from the JJJ countdown with Hallelujah at #35. I wonder if the record company will allow it to re-enter the ARIA singles top 100 this week?
Here is a summary of JJJ impact on itunes today:
#35 Jeff Buckley - Hallejulah #48 RATM - Killing in the name of is #60 Joy Division - Love will tear us apart #67 Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye #72 Johnny Cash - Hurt #80 Radiohead - Creep #82 Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit (the countdown winner) #90 Pink Floyd - Wish you were here #96 Metallica - One #97 Foo Fighters - Everlong #100 Massive Attack - Teardrop
Will be interesting to follow these tracks on the itunes chart this week.
Plus La Roux now has two version of 'In for the Kill' in the itunes top 100 - album and single version. I predict a bullet on the ARIA singles chart for this track this week. Last edited:
Musikkk --> i am not a jackass! Brandon is young and has university so he goes on and off as far as i have noticed... As for my post it was my opinion and in no way shape or form did i use profanity in my remarks... He is an adult so i doubt i would have scared him away! So i suggest you get back in your box and be quite...
hP: "Hallelujah" has not actually charted in the ARIA Top 100 before, but has had three runs on the digital charts, two prior to the 'must have physical release' policy was changed...
Thanks for posting that Bulion. I had doubted it (Hallelujah) had ever gone top 50 on ARIA singles before but wasn't sure altogether and as I don't have access to ARIA top 100 (places 51-100) I didn't know about that part of the chart either. So there is a chance Jeff Buckley may debut this week posthumously with a 15 year old song on the ARIA singles chart, if his record company allows it. We will have to watch itunes each day to see if he stays comfortably in that itunes top 50 to know if he has a chance. Last edited:

Wow, I just went to the iTunes list to see why you were cheering Short Stack, expecting they may be in the 40-50 range. #22! Great. I hope they can keep it up long enough to chart.
Where has Cassie Davis's new song Do It Again gotten to from the itunes top 1000 its dissapared how did it get from low rank 70 to not even in the top 1000???????? its a little weird

What i dont like about Itunes is it's "Popularity" meter on songs. I looked at "Secret" by "Samantha Jade" and it wass 100% popular, same with "Agnes's" new song. If they are so popular, why have they not charted yet?......
Sorry, I'm bad at explaining. What I mean is for example, if you look at the top 100, that's a list and the highest selling song will have a full bar, with everything else having a fraction of the bar equivalent to how well it sells in comparison. If you look up a certain artist, their highest selling song will have a full bar, even if it has only sold a few copies. i hope that makes more sense.
Aww that's a shame. She is planning on breaking the US and her album is extremely well-recieved over here so i don't know why she's struggling in Oz. Maybe lack of promo.
I don't think Leona promoted much with BL but she still got #1
Hopefully it will explode in the coming weeks. The Flo Rida connection and dazzling production should have ensured it would be a hit. Obviously not
Btw, great to see her charting on your chart At least she charted on something
Sidney Samson is shit, didn't even make my top 50. Was actually my most hated song of 2009.
I love N-Dubz and Tinchy Stryder. N-Dubz currently have 2 songs in my top 10 (I Need You and Playing With Fire) and last year Tinchy Stryder had 3 huge #1 singles. Number 1 (3 weeks) #13 of 2009. Never Leave You (4 weeks) #20 of 2009 You're Not Alone (4 weeks) #43 of 2009
For Alexandra Burke she's reached... Hallelujah - #11 Bad Boys - #3 Broken Heels - #49 (so far)
What else do you like/dislike in the likes of UK music?
Leona Lewis Bleeding Love - #1 (7 weeks) Better In Time - #2 Forgive Me - #5 Run - #7 Happy - #18 I Got You - #52 (so far)
I've just noticed... Leona's charted worse with every release :S
