Hi all!
Great idea for the thread section!
Let's get on with it, a lot to get through. Crazy week for me, I've been in Lorne for the weekend and that's why today's chart may seem a little later than usual. (BTW, for any non-Aussies, Lorne is on the coast in Victoria near Melb)
In the chart this week, Dirtee Cash remains on top with Friendly Fires having 2 songs enter the top 5, with Skeleton Boy and White Diamonds. Kiss of Life has jumped to No.2, and all of its 8 weeks spent in my chart it has been in the top 3!
Two songs from last week's top 5, Soldier and The Fixer, slip to 6th and 7th respectively. The only new entry into the top 20 is Horchata by Vampire Weekend. Grizzly Bear re-enter the charts with Ready, Able at No.20, while D'Opus & Roshambo have a big week with The Basement moving back into the top 20 and a remix of it debuting at no.45.
Gonna See My Friend by Pearl Jam debuts at No.38, and this marks a significant milestone for Pearl Jam. All 11 songs have charted in the Hot 100, with all but Unthought Known in this week, as Unthought Known left on the 4/1 chart. Also a big jump for Sydney indie rock band The Snowdroppers, with their no.8 hit Rosemary jumping from no.54 to no.24.
At the bottom end of the chart, Eskimo Joe hanging on by a thread with their 2 biggest hits in the bottom 10 of the top 100. A lot of Jet down the bottom, with most of these Eskimo Joe/Jet songs a lot higher in Liam's top 50. The Dead Weather enter with their 2nd song on my chart to date, with Treat Me Like Your Mother in at No.88. A veteran leaves this week, with Bulletproof slipping over 30 spots to leave. Also leaving are Muse, Hilltop Hoods and Queensland indie band The Boat People.
In the vintage chart, Pearl Jam hit top spot with Yield track Do The Evolution, and other newly-entering songs from Vampire Weekend and Hoodoo Gurus. Meanwhile, Oasis are amongst the leavers this week. Dizzee Rascal enjoys his album's 2nd consecutive no.1 on the albums chart, with Tongue N Cheek dominating the pack. New entering albums from Vampire Weekend and Kaiser Chiefs. In the Aussie chart, Yves Klein Blue top the chart again, with Fader leaving and The Basement (Karton Radio Mix) entering.
A new no.1 this week, and the first time since Kiss of Life last year that a song debuts at no.1. And its Vampire Weekend's 'Giving Up The Gun', a brilliant track off their new album Contra, which has peaked at no.2 in Australia and is at no.1 in the Billboard Albums Chart. Dirtee Cash slips to no.2, whilst former-no.1 Percussion Gun re-enters the top 10. Big debut for Gossip with Love Long Distance at no.5, and Franz/La Roux's live collaboration of Call Me has slipped to no.4.
Along with the momentum of Giving Up The Gun, Cousins has re-entered the top 10 at no.10 after spending last week at no.53. Ready, Able by Grizzly Bear jumps to no.11 and a top 10 position for it is likely. Horchata, The Fixer and Holiday slip out of the top 10 whilst The Snowdroppers re-enter the top 20 and Lily Allen's Who'd Have Known jumps to no.20. Other debuts from The Temper Trap (Science of Fear) and Grizzly Bear (Cheerleader) have made the top 50, whilst Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks has debuted at no.52. Hopefully it last longer than its title in the chart.
Lifter500 will be glad that Don't Let Me Down hangs on for another week, and it actually rises to no.88. Unfortunately, Foreign Land did leave along with Parlez Vous Francais? by Art vs Science, 21st Century Breakdown by Green Day and Comeback by Grinspoon.
In the Vintage Chart, The Fratellis' iPod commercial hit Flathead tops the chart with Do The Evolution down to no.2. Tei! Tei! Tei! by Japanese band Polysics leaves, whilst Navy Wives by White Rabbits enters at no.6.
In the Albums Chart, another new no.1 with It's Frightening by White Rabbits, whilst Tongue N Cheek moves to no.2. Grinspoon's Six to Midnight returns whilst Kaiser Chiefs' Employment leaves. Contra by Vampire Weekend is at no.3 and is likely to top next week.
In the Australian Chart, the only steady no.1 this week is Soldier by Yves Klein Blue. Three consecutive weeks at no.1 is an all-time record for all 4 charts. The Temper Trap and Empire of the Sun debut whilst The Presets and Yves Klein Blue (Getting Wise) are amongst the casualties. In the Australian Chart, I actually also include songs from New Zealand artists which is why Between the Lines by Evermore has been there for three weeks.
Another week, another week at no.1 for Kiss of Life. This its 4th week at no.1 (and I have done 12 charts thus far). Skeleton Boy is at a new peak, no.2. Mumford & Sons' second single, Winter Winds, debuts at no.7. The Wave Machines, Kid Cudi/MGMT/Ratatat and Jet also have debuts in the top 20. A new feature this week, a triangle (▲) is placed for any song gone 'platinum' in my Hot 100. For a song to earn a triangle, it must peak or have peaked in the top 10, and to have been in the charts for at least 10 total weeks. One ▲ is given for 10 weeks, ▲2 for 30, ▲3 for 50, ▲4 for 75 and ▲5 for 100 (it probably won't happen, but ▲5 is there just in case).
This week is also significant for another reason. As you already may know, my music taste is not as mainstream as others. As a result, no Beyonce song has ever charted. However, this has changed this week with Halo coming in at #99! Other songs debuting are Port O'Brien's 'I Woke Up Today' (from that Dulux ad), D'Opus & Roshambo's 'Voyage' and The Bloody Beetroots featuring Steve Aoki with 'Warp', coming in at #48.
Cousins by Vampire Weekend is very close to a top 5 spot next week, and Percussion Gun jumps into the top 5 and is a likely no.1 for anytime in the next month or so! Last week's no.1 Giving Up The Gun slips to no.3, but Dirtee Cash slips 8 spots to no.10. Ready, Able by Grizzly Bear continues its dream run, debuting in the top 10 at no.9. Uprising by Muse, which left at the start of January, returns at no.15, its new peak! Also, big jumps from artists doing well up the top of the chart: White Rabbits (Rudie Fails), Muse (Resistance) and Vampire Weekend (White Sky). Little Lion Man hangs on at no.100, whilst Eskimo Joe songs Don't Let Me Down and Childhood Behaviour slip 2 spots each into the bottom 11 songs of the chart. Losing Friends Over Love and New Fang are amongst the leavers this week.
In the vintage chart, Flathead by The Fratellis remains on top whilst Navy Wives jumps to no.2. In the albums chart, Contra goes to no.1 and Pearl Jam's legendary album Ten debuts at no.10 (fitting, huh, but it deserves higher!) In the Australian chat, Yves Klein Blue's Soldier celebrates its 4th consecutive week at no.1 whilst Beat on Repeat breathes down its neck at no.2. The sole New Zealand song to chart in the Australian chart, Between the Lines by Evermore, leaves this week.
Nice to see Halo debut. From the Vintage Chart, I love your number one. It made my top 200 of the decade and was numebr one on my chart for two weeks in 2007, making number 18 of the year. Also good to see Invincible and Starlight, my second and third favourite songs from Muse.
Good to see you are not afraid to chart album tracks, big plus I say. Giving up the gun is a great Vampire Weekend song, but my fav on Contra is White Sky which I see is #49, I will chart White Sky in a few weeks once the lead track Cousins has a few weeks on it. Good chart, lots of good bands. Last edited:
I like the platinum inclusions! I remember when i used to write my chart in a book i used to have platinum's but it was more on how much i liked a song. so songs that have peaked at number two but were behind a song which i liked heaps could get recognition. but at least for you it will allow us to see how long a song has charted. 75w is huge for retirement, i think for me only one song has done that - alicia keys - no one.
This week sees Kiss of Life with its 5th week at no.1. Mumford & Sons and Kisschasy enter the top 5, with the latter entering the top 100 for the first week altogether. Skeleton Boy slips to no.5, whilst Percussion Gun remains steady.
A massive chart this week, with 10 songs leaving this week from some big-name artists including Pearl Jam, Beyonce and The Temper Trap. Also, Eskimo Joe single Don't Let Me Down ends its 11-week run in the chart, a few weeks after jumping from a precarious no.100 to no.88. Massive jumps from Grinspoon, Grizzly Bear and OK Go.
A new no.1 as well, with Irish indie group Two Door Cinema Club with I Can Talk. Check it out, people. Fantastic song. Anyway, Kiss of Life falls to no.3 but it is still in its 12th straight week in the top 3. Generation Why slips to no.6, and Lily Allen moves into the top 10 with Not Fair. Also, big debuts from OK Go, Lily Allen (The Fear), Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons (The Cave), The Model School and Evermore.
In the Vintage Chart, Kasabian debut at no.1 with Empire, whilst Shoot the Runner debuts at no.3 - leaving last weeks no.1 Do You Realize?? slipping to no.2. In the Albums Chart, Contra by Vampire Weekend moves back to no.1 after spending last week at no.2. Also, Grizzly Bear and Mumford & Sons debut in the top 10 after I bought both albums on Saturday. Kisschasy slips to no.2 in the Australian Chart with Grinspoon single Summer at no.1. It has a big, big chance of going to no.1 either next week or in the near future.
I actually do like that Two Door Cinema Club song, and I'll probably chart OK Go's new one next week. Also liking entries for Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons, and Kasabian.
Two Door Cinema Club with their second week at no.1, with I Can Talk. Percussion Gun was soooooooooooo close, but it just missed out. Grinspoon make a big claim for the top spot, with their third single Summer at no.3. My fav band Franz Ferdinand debuts at no.5 with Lobster Quadrille, a song from the Alice in Wonderland film coming out soon (or its out now, no idea!?!).
Lily Allen and Grizzly Bear with big weeks again, with Who'd Have Known, Not Fair, While You Wait For The Others and Ready, Able all in the top 10. Their only casualty between them was Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear, which falls to no.14. Passion Pit with another high debut at no.12, and Dizzee Rascal, Michael Buble and Franz Ferdinand are amongst the leavers this week.
In the vintage chart, Empire by Kasabian remains at no.1. I love it, its chorus is soooooo addictive (ok enough sooooooooo's for today ). Meanwhile, Grizzly Bear knock Vampire Weekend off the top of the albums chart and Grinspoon remain on top of the Aussie chart.
As much as I love seeing Irelanders at the top of your chart (that was bad even by my standards), I found out that TDCC are from Northern Ireland which is part of the UK. Anyway on to the chart, Good to see Passion Pit debut so highly, very surprised at the Beyonce debut as I thought Halo was the only song of hers you liked.
@hijinx they are from Northern Ireland and I did know that, but I haven't got around to changing it from my initial entry when I found they were 'Irish'. lol
i gave i can talk a listen...i actually really enjoyed that song seriously its like a rock version of owl city (with a bit of evermore in) ^^!!! Last edited:
Three weeks at no.1 for TDCC, whilst Lily Allen jumps into the top 5 with Who'd Have Known. Summer makes another claim for top spot, but ends up at no.2. Poor old Percussion Gun falls to no.11, and big debuts from Deep Sea Arcade, Lily Allen and Flight of the Conchords this week as well. Grizzly Bear's Cheerleader hangs on, but veterans All of the Dreamers and Sexy Bitch weren't so lucky.
Before I start babbling on about my charts this week, I just want to fill you in on my Top 1000 Songs of All Time. The countdown will start on Friday 19th of March (all times Australian EST), and the approximate schedule (subject to change) is:
This will be very interesting for me, I personally can't wait. The next few weeks of compiling lists upon lists of music will be interesting.
Anyway, for this week, Two Door Cinema Club enjoy their 4th consecutive week at no.1 with I Can Talk - this is a record. However, if they get to no.1 next week they will tie the all-time record with Kiss of Life. Meanwhile, Lily Allen jumps to no.2 with Who'd Have Known at the expense of Summer, which moves to no.3.
Grizzly Bear kick Franz Ferdinand out of the top 5 with Ready, Able at no.4. Other big jumps comee from The Model School, Deep Sea Arcade, Muse (Resistance) and 2 Grizzly Bear songs (Cheerleader and Two Weeks). A big week for Aussies, with Operator Please, Yves Klein Blue and Kisschasy all with newly-released singles debuting in the top 50. Also, Jet and Temper Trap enter in the top 100.
Empire of the Sun are hanging on at no.100 with platinum-accredited Without You spending its 13th week in the bottom spot. Beyonce leaves the top 100 with Sweet Dreams, and Jet, Kasabian, Powderfinger and Vampire Weekend are others leaving this week. Dananananaykroyd, Kasabian and Sarah Blasko are close to charting, but debuts for next week aren't certain.
Empire by Kasabian hangs on for another week at the top of the Vintage chart, with Pearl Jam, Muse and Operator Please debuting. Grizzly Bear spend its 2nd week at no.1 on the Albums chart, whilst Franz Ferdinand remix album Blood debuts in at no.10. I made a mistake on the Aussie chart last week, thus 6 songs enter. Oh well, Grinspoon remain at no.1 again. We're all human.
Top thousand should be good. As for the chart, it's good to see Deep Sea Arcade make the top ten with a song I regretably DNC. Good strong jump for Grizzly Bear (Two Weeks) and Muse (Resistance). Good debuts for Operator Please & Temper Trap as well. Great to see Assassin on the Vintage chart. Last edited:
The top 1000 sounds interesting, looking forward to it
Good debuts for Operator Please and Kisschasy. Good to see Lily Allen rise as well, that song is pretty good. Can't really say anything else as I don't know most of the songs in your chart. Last edited:
Two Door Cinema Club's massive run at no.1 has ended, with I Can Talk slipping to no.2. Lily Allen had a big chance of going to top spot, but ended up slipping to no.3! Instead, Australian indie rock band The Model School go to no.1 with their long-name song 'It's Hard To Dance When Your Legs Are On Fire'. Check it out on youtube or in the 'Play It Or Trash It' section, very cool film clip and a nice song. Friendly Fires jump to no.4 with Kiss of Life, which has spent all 16 weeks in the top 5. It's run so far is:
1-1-2-2-1-3-3-2-3-1-1-3-4-4-5-4
It has had an amazing run, but it deserves it. By far my favourite song of the summer. I bought the Two Door Cinema Club album on Saturday and I love it. As a result, Undercover Martyn jumps to no.9 and their other single Something Good Can Work enters at no.7. The Model School also become the 1st ever Australian no.1 out of my 18 weeks of the Irelander's Hot 100. Deep Sea Arcade might become the 2nd within weeks, as Lonely In Your Arms continues to rise - jumping into the top 5 this week. Jay-Z, Two Door Cinema Club, MGMT and Hoodoo Gurus are the debuts this week.
Pearl Jam knock Kasabian off the top spot in the Vintage Chart, with Black now in its first week at no.1. Two Door Cinema Club make up for I Can Talk slipping by having its album debut at no.1. Tourist History knocks Grizzly Bear off the top, whilst Evermore's new self-titled greatest hits album debuts at no.9.
And don't forget my top 1000 songs starting this Friday.
Friendly Fires out of the top 5 Nice jump for Passion Pit and great to see British India debut. Hopefully Vanilla can get through as well. Even though it's not exactly my favourite, I kinda want to see Guiding Light debut so together we'll have charted the whole album. Last edited:
Nice to see an artist I recognise hit the top of your chart, though not a song I really enjoy Not much esle to say about the chart since I dont know much of the songs in it. Oh well
Massive week for Two Door Cinema Club, with What You Know jumping to no.1. Also, TDCC equal the record for the most songs in the top 10: 5. White Rabbits have had 5 as well back in 2009. Deep Sea Arcade and The Model School make claims for top spot, both moving a spot each to be in numbers 2 and 4 respectively. Lily Allen tumbles to no.6 with last week's no.1 Who'd Have Known; and a weird list of entries this week, with Passion Pit, British India, Rihanna, Two Door Cinema Club, Sarah Blasko and Iyaz entering.
My 'Songs Trying To Push Through' has been revamped. It is now called 'Bubbling Under List' and will now include potential returns as well. Muse stay on top of the Vintage chart, as do Two Door Cinema Club on top of the Albums. The Model School stay on top of the Aussie chart as well.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 29/3/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Great to see someone finally recognise Passion Pit's best song (IMO). Nice jumps for Operator Please and OK Go. Good entries for Muse & British India as well.
Yes, it is early, but we're leaving the house at 9-ish so I don't have much choice.
What You Know stays on top, and Deep Sea Arcade jumps to no.2. They should hit no.1 next week (emphasise should :p). A lot of movement elsewhere, with Something Good Can Work, About the Future and Undercover Martyn jumping up to occupy spots 3 to 5. Jet break a new record for the highest jump of all time: Times Like This jumps an amazing 79 spots from no.85 to no.6. OK Go jump into the top 10 yet again with This Too Shall Pass, whilst former no.1s I Can Talk and It's Hard To Dance... slip to the bottom of the top 10. La Roux, Two Door Cinema Club, LMFAO and Lily Allen are amongst the debuts this week (what a weird mix, huh?). Iyaz falls out this week, with only lasting one week in the chart. White Rabbits and Yeasayer return, while Go/No-Go, Lily Allen, Vampire Weekend and Lifehouse are all in the running for debuts next week.
In the Vintage chart, Muse are completely dominating - occupying four of the spots in the top 5. Feeling Good is at no.1, and Stockholm Syndrome is also likely to get top spot soon. Two Door Cinema Club has its record-breaking 4th week on top of the albums chart, with Lily Allen breathing down their necks. Friendly Fires is the only casualty this week in this chart. Elsewhere in the Australian chart, Deep Sea Arcade jump to no.1, The Model School slip to fourth spot and Kisschasy bow out.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 5/4/10 Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
I wouldn't mind seeing DSA take the top spot as I actually know the song. Nice to see OK Go in the top ten and Yeasayer re-enter. Great to see Stockholm Syndrome & Everyday... in the vintage chart
School returned for me today (sob). But that also means it's Monday, so it's Chart Day! This week, Two Door Cinema Club's reign of terror is temporarily put on hold with Australian indie group Deep Sea Arcade jumping to no.1 with Lonely In Your Arms. DSA are very Beatles-like and very retro, but they are very awesome in their own way! A reasonably stable top 10 this week, with the only song leaving the top 10 being The Model School, slipping one spot to no.11 with former no.1 'It's Hard To Dance When Your Legs Are On Fire'. MGMT return with the highest re-entry of all time in the IH100, with Flash Delirium now at its peak of no.10. Expect it to rise next week.
A lot of competition for top spot this week, but next week will be even more hectic. DSA will be lucky to hang on to top spot, but at this stage, Two Door Cinema Club may have its 3rd no.1 by next Monday. OK Go also make a jump to no.8, whilst big debuts come from darwin deez, Go/No-Go, Grizzly Bear, Florence and the Machine, and yes, Lifehouse coming in at no.98 with Halfway Gone. For next week, John Butler Trio, Lily Allen and Richard Vission/friends are amongst the potential debuts in this week's Bubbling Under List.
In the vintage chart, Muse have ANOTHER no.1 with Stockholm Syndrome, they are just rocking my socks off at the moment. Holding spots 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10, they are dominating the vintage chart. In the albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club stay on top for yet another week, whilst Vampire Weekend make way for a Mumford & Sons return. In the Australian chart, DSA are the obvious no.1, with Sarah Blasko and Go/No-Go debuting, and British India returning with second single Beneath the Satellites.
Comments always welcome!
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 12/4/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Good to see DSA at the top. I hope you chart Don't Be Sorry as well as I prefer it. Great MGMT re-entry and British India bullet. Wicked vintage chart this week as well.
Two Door Cinema Club celebrate their 7th week at no.1, with Something Good Can Work jumping to top spot. SGCW has fended off tough competition from MGMT and Deep Sea Arcade, which slips from no.1 to no.3. Speaking of DSA, Don't Be Sorry debuts at no.16. Grinspoon, Richard Vission/friends and John Butler Trio also debut this week. Friendly Fires cop two exits this week, whilst Lifehouse last only one week with Halfway Gone. Empire of the Sun and Gossip join the songs in the Bubbling Under list.
A massive change for my Vintage chart, it has expanded from a top 10 to a top 20. As a result, nothing leaves and stuff from Franz Ferdinand, Muse, The Cure and The Fratellis debut. In the albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club stay on top for a record 6th consecutive week, and Linkin Park's Meteora kick out Pearl Jam's Ten. In the Australian chart, Deep Sea Arcade stay on top whilst British India hang on with Beneath the Satellites and exit with Vanilla.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 19/4/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
MGMT jump to top spot with Flash Delirium, whilst other tracks from Congratulations 'It's Working', 'Brian Eno' and 'Congratulations' also make it. Go/No-Go and TDCC (Eat That Up, It's Good For You) are on the verge of a top 10 berth while Lily Allen enters it again with 7th single Chinese. Gossip's new single Pop Goes The World and a belated debut for Glasgow band Dananananaykroyd (yes, that's their name). Arctic Monkeys, Lily Allen and Crowded House are the picks of the Bubbling Unders, whilst Cheryl Cole/will.i.am and Muse leave. Franz Ferdinand stay on top of the Vintage and TDCC stay on top of the Albums, but Operator Please jump to the no.1 spot on the Aussie chart with Logic.

Wicked number one this week and good to see their three debuts which are among my favourites from the album. Good bullets for Operator Please & Deep Sea Arcade as well.
This week, Two Door Cinema Club get another no.1 with latest single Undercover Martyn. As awesome as it is, this means that Flash Delirium has slipped to no.2. Go-No/Go and Deep Sea Arcade make advances for top spot, whilst Angus & Julia Stone and Lisa Mitchell debut in the top 10. British India, Lily Allen, Grinspoon, Arctic Monkeys and Two Door Cinema Club all achieve new peaks, while Paramore finally debut with The Only Exception at no.31 - their first charting song since Brick By Boring Brick charted across the summer. Powderfinger and Operator Please top off a great week for Aussie bands, with Sail the Wildest Stretch and Loops both entering.
Meanwhile, Evermore, Gossip, MGMT, Mumford & Sons and The Snowdroppers leave whilst Birds of Tokyo, Wolfmother, Crowded House, Gyroscope and Lily Allen are amongst those potentially one week away from a debut. Elsewhere, Muse stay on top of the vintage chart with Plug In Baby, Vampire Weekend enter into the top 5 with Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa and Franz Ferdinand enter with Dark of the Matinee. In a new feature aptly titled 'Vintage Bubbling Under List' (I don't think I have to explain, people...come on), Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Prodigy are amongst the artists that could break through the vintage chart in the weeks to come. In the albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club are on top for the 9th consecutive week - and Go/No-Go go to no.1 of the Aussie chart.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 10/5/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Quite a long climb to number one, for the first time ever we have the same number one in the same week. Good top ten debuts, hopefully Birds of Tokyo & Gyroscope make it in.
Here it is, I've spent too much time posting Liam's chart and I have exams later this week so I must be studying...here's a quick overview.
Two Door Cinema Club have another week on top, marking TDCC's 9th week on top of the IH100. MGMT jump into the top 5 with 'It's Working', whilst Yves Klein Blue provide the highest debut at no.30 with Digital Love. Wolfmother and Gyroscope are the other debutants this week, whilst Richard Vission and friends enter into the top 20 with their smash hit I Like That. Dizzee Rascal and Friendly Fires are amongst the leavers this week, whilst a much larger Bubbling Under list than usual sees new bands The Soft Pack, Local Natives, Jump Jump Dance Dance, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Cloud Control and Audio Bullys joining the pack. Unfortunately for some who wanted it to debut, Birds of Tokyo will have to wait at least another week with The Saddest Thing I Know.
Muse are at no.1 again on the Vintage Chart, this time with Absolution single Stockholm Syndrome returning to the top. Vampire Weekend have a great week here with Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa and A-Punk jumping into the top 5. Operator Please, Youth Group and Creedence Clearwater Revival debut in the Vintage Chart. Two Door Cinema Club have yet another week on top of the Albums Chart (that's 10 weeks!). The Fratellis finally see some action here with debut album Costello Music debuting at no.9. On the Aussie chart, Deep Sea Arcade knock off fellow indie group Go/No-Go off the top (whom I stupidly referred to as "Go-No/Go" - silly me :p)...and Powderfinger debut with Sail The Wildest Stretch at no.10.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 17/5/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
This week, for the first time since the inception of my charts in November, the top 2 consists of debuting songs. At no.2 is synth-strong Dance The Way I Feel by British group Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. At no.1 is Airplanes by American folk band Local Natives (no it's not the Airplanes that everyone else knows :p). Also debuting highly are The Soft Pack with Answer to Yourself, Cloud Control with Gold Canary and Muse's theme for the new Twilight film, Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever). Two Door Cinema Club occupy the rest of the top 5, with Something Good Can Work, Undercover Martyn and I Can Talk at spots 3, 4 and 5 respectively. In the Vintage chart, Vampire Weekend finally go to top spot with A-Punk. In the Australian chart, Go/No-Go jump to a second on top and Two Door Cinema Club remain on top of the Albums chart for the 11th consecutive week.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 24/5/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
I like all of the entries this week (Dance the Way I Feel & Answer to Yourself were close to charting for me). For Local Natives, I recommend Camera Talk, it's the only other song I know by them but it's just as good as Airplanes.
This week, Passion Pit jump to no.1 with hard-hitting single The Reeling. Two Door Cinema Club's I Can Talk makes another claim for top spot, jumping to second behind The Soft Pack and Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. Operator Please's opening track of their new album Gloves titled 'Catapult' bullets to the top 10, and Gyroscope and Muse also bullet highly. Jack Johnson, Birds of Tokyo and Audio Bullys are the debutants, whilst Crowded House may finally debut next week with Saturday Sun. In the Vintage chart, Muse jump to no.1 again whilst Grinspoon debut 2 tracks. Tourist History has a 12th week on top of the Albums chart, with albums from OK Go, Vampire Weekend and British India (all of which were my three self-motivating presents after my exams finished last week) all debuting in the top 10. As a result of bulleting to the top 10 in the IH100, Catapult by Operator Please goes to no.1 on the Aussie chart.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 31/5/10

Random bullet for Passion Pit but I'm not complaining, great to see it at #1. Great to see Gyroscope moving fast & Birds of Tokyo debuting. Wicked to see Stockholm Syndrome at the top of the vintage as well. Triple platinum starts rolling out next week with just four original entries remaining.
This week, The Reeling and I Can Talk remain as the top two, with Ou Est Le Swimming Pool jumping to no.3, and Muse and Cloud Control each bulleting to the top 5. Not too much in terms of debuts this week, with Operator Please the highest at no.52 with catchy track 'Volcanic'. Hot Chip, Birds of Tokyo and Jack Johnson are amongst those jumping, whilst the best chances for a debut next week include OK Go and Kele, along with a potential return for Pearl Jam's latest single Amongst The Waves. On the Vintage chart, Muse's Stockholm Syndrome hangs on for a fourth week at no.1, with two debuts from Vampire Weekend and big bullets from MGMT and The Fratellis getting close. In the Albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club's Tourist History hangs on for another week at no.1 - it is up to its 13th week on the top; however bullets from OK Go, British India and Vampire Weekend may provide some resistance for next week. In the Aussie chart, Cloud Control jump to no.1 whilst Yves Klein Blue kick Lisa Mitchell out of the top 10.
Also, sorry everyone about the lateness for notes, I had 5 minutes to post the chart roughly, so now I'm formatting it properly now that I have the time too. Thanks!
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 7/6/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
A very surprising no.1 this week with Jay-Z's D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) rocketing to top spot. Vampire Weekend's terrific IH100 run continues as Holiday bullets to no.5. The Bubbling Under list is very intriguing, with British India's new single Avalanche added to it as well as Adam Lambert and Patrick Wolf. In the Vintage, Muse break the record for the most weeks on top with Stockholm Syndrome in its 5th week. In the Albums and Australian charts respectively, both Two Door Cinema Club and Cloud Control stay on top.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 14/6/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Don't mind D.O.A, great to see Vampire Weekend move up so fast. Also great to see Kele debut. From the bubbling list, hopefully Avalanche, This Orient, Vital Signs, Ignorance or Amongst the Waves can enter.
It was inevitable, wasn't it? Ou Est Le Swimming Pool jump to no.1 after 4 weeks hanging around in the top 5. In the process, they narrowly knock off Jay-Z's D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune), the battle of the two songs has been one of the closest in a while. Midnight Juggernauts debuts in the top 10, and both Kele and Grinspoon bullet the top 10. Audio Bullys make a claim for a top 5 spot for next week, but it might be beaten by Tame Impala, which is certain to debut next week. 5 songs debut in the bottom 50 with 3 from last week's bubbling under: Patrick Wolf, Foals and The Ettes at nos. 66, 70 and 81 respectively. At the end of the line, two rappers who don't see much attention on the IH100 debut; Lil' Wayne & Eminem at no.98 with Drop The World and Eminem by himself with Not Afraid at no.100.
Crowded House, Yeasayer and Mumford & Sons are amongst the leavers this week, with Adam Lambert still bubbling under along with Paramore and OK Go. In the Vintage chart, Muse stay on top with epic track Stockholm Syndrome at no.1, as well as two debuts in the top 5: Bliss at no.2 and Map of the Problematique. My besties at Franz Ferdinand debut at no.7 with Lucid Dreams (that's the pre-album version). The leavers this week in the Vintage have a weird link: one Aussie (Grinspoon), one Pom (Muse) and one American band (Vampire Weekend). Or maybe it's just me.
In the Albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club stay on top for a 15th consecutive week. Holy crap, even I'm surprised. A surprise entry for Jet at no.10 with debut album Get Born back from 2003 sees Lily Allen knocked off the Albums chart after an 11-week run. Franz Ferdinand's legendary album Tonight jumps to no.2 but still probably won't knock off TDCC anytime soon (maybe, I literally have no idea). In the Aussie chart, Midnight Juggernauts are on top, Grinspoon return to no.2 and Cloud Control are knocked off the top. In addition, Perth rockers Gyroscope and Brisbane band Yves Klein Blue leave. Would this be the most notes I've ever written? Possibly. Credit to anyone who could actually be bothered reading it all.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 21/6/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Yes Very interesting #1. Again all my favourites fall this week but I don't mind. I have nothing against any of the artists in your chart save for Rihanna
Better #1 this week . Wicked to see Kele & Midnight Juggernauts in the top 10, you've peaked them higher than I have already. Good to see Foals debut as well.
Holiday, oh holiday! That's right, not only have my school holidays begun, but Holiday by Vampire Weekend has hit no.1 on the IH100. Coincidental, I swear xD. MGMT have two returns in the top 10, whilst Ou Est and Jump Jump Dance Dance fall from places no.1 to no.3 respectively. Tame Impala provides the highest entry, with psychedelic track Solitude is Bliss at no.11. Pearl Jam return with recent single Amongst The Waves, while Adam Lambert gets a rare entry for mainstream pop with Whataya Want From Me. Unfortunately, Drop The World by Lil' Wayne and Eminem had to leave, but Eminem's own Not Afraid bullets to no.90. Added to the Bubbling Under this week is Australian group Amy Meredith, comedy outfit The Bedroom Philosopher and two songs from Washington.
Meanwhile, Muse hang on for another week on top of the Vintage with Stockholm Syndrome, but Vampire Weekend bullet to no.2 with Oxford Comma - and nothing leaves. In the Albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club on top again but faces stiff competition from a strong return for MGMT at no.2 with Congratulations. Jet are the collateral damage, with Get Born leaving the top 10. In the Aussie chart, Operator Please return to no.1 for a third week with Logic and Tame Impala jumps ahead of fellow indie outfit Midnight Juggernauts.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 28/6/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Didn't expect Vampire Weekend back at #1, it's a good song that may have just missed charting for me. Good to see MGMT re-entries, Brian Eno is one of my favourites from the album. Great to see Tame Impala enter and Pearl Jam re-enter. From the bubbling list, I hope Northcote (for the lols ), Avalanche, Baby, I'm Gettin' Better, Close to You, Siberian Breaks, Dan Treacy, Ignorance and Rich Kids can enter. Phew, that's a lot.
As I warned yesterday, the IH100 is posted today instead of Monday the 5th because I will be on holidays for a week. Vampire Weekend stay at no.1 with Holiday for a second week, whilst Jay-Z remains at no.2 with D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune). The highest debut this week comes from Australian comedy act The Bedroom Philosopher, whose song Northcote (So Hungover) comes in this week at no.3. Yves Klein Blue jumps 46 places to no.4 this week and now has a strong chance of hitting no.1 soon, along with Grizzly Bear's Southern Point which returns at no.5 this week. MGMT should count themselves unlucky for Congratulations slipping out of the top 5, but it should come back in soon. Adam Lambert bullets to no.20 this week, and The Bloody Beetroots debut with Domino at no.21 and Cornelius at no.31. MGMT, Washington and Chuckie & LMFAO make up the other debuts this week, with John Butler Trio returning with Close To You a no.39. Calvin Harris, Dananananaykroyd and White Rabbits are amongst the leavers this week, with the Rabbits's song Midnight and I leaving after 30 weeks in the chart.
I'm pretty sure that this week provides the largest Bubbling Under List in IH100 history, with 21 songs all with a chance of debuting soon, but the biggest chances would be Vampire Weekend, Jay-Z and British India at the moment. In the Vintage chart, Muse's run on top ends for now with Vampire Weekend's Oxford Comma at no.1. This means also that Vampire Weekend have become the first band to have a no.1 on the IH100 and the Vintage Chart simultaneously. What an effort! Pearl Jam and Katy Perry debut this week in the Vintage, with Franz Ferdinand and Grinspoon leaving. In the ever-dramatic Albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club hang on AGAIN for a 17th week on top. MGMT's Congratulations stays at no.2, but it still remains an outside chance to be no.1 soon. John Butler Trio enters at no.10 with April Uprising, and OK Go leave. In the Australian chart, The Bedroom Philosopher debuts at no.1 and Yves Klein Blue re-enter at no.2, kicking out Cloud Control and Powderfinger in the process.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 5/7/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
This week, American group Vampire Weekend hang on for a third week at no.1 with third single Holiday, and Yves Klein Blue bullet with their highest ever IH100 spot, with non-single Digital Love at no.2. Jay-Z's D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) is the only other song which stays in the top 5 this week, slipping one spot to no.3. OK Go bullet into the top 5 with Needing / Getting, and MGMT return with It's Working. Two Door Cinema Club are on the verge of a 5th no.1 in the near future if latest single Come Back Home breaks into the top 5. It's at no.6 this week ahead of The Bedroom Philosopher, MGMT and Kele. John Butler Trio rounds out the top 10 with Close To You bulleting to no.10.
Elsewhere, Grizzly Bear take a 6-place slump to no.11 with Southern Point, and Grinspoon leap an unprecedented 73 spots to no.12 for Premonitions. Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend's rumoured fourth single California English debuts at no.15 and OK Go's latest single End Love enters at no.18. Other things of note in the top 50 include massive falls for Midnight Juggernauts and Audio Bullys, whilst Friendly Fires's Kiss of Life - which spent its first 16 weeks in the top 3 - settles in at no.49 this week behing Richard Vission and Cloud Control. Washington debuts her second IH100 entry with Clementine at no.54. MGMT debut for the 6th time from Congratulations, with Song For Dan Treacy entering at no.79.
Top 10 hits from Fleet Foxes and The Soft Pack slip into the middle of a Lily Allen avalanche, with F**k You, Back to the Start, Chinese and 22 all within 9 spots of each other. Towards the bottom, Eminem and The Model School are amongst many who retain their spots from last week, and Yves Klein Blue slip 18 spots down to no.100 with Make Up Your Mind. British India, Jet, Operator Please and Paramore are amongst the leavers this week, with Art vs Science, Brandon Flowers, British India, Jay-Z and Sally Seltmann with the best chances of debuting next week. Aussie groups John Butler Trio and Amy Meredith also have an outside chance.
In the Vintage Chart, Franz Ferdinand jump to no.1 with The Fallen, and an early-2009 single for Taking Back Sunday, Sink Into Me, debuts at no.6. As a result, Muse's first ARIA Top 100 entry, Plug In Baby, leaves after 12 weeks in and one week at no.1. Two Door Cinema Club hang on for an 18th week on top of the Albums Chart, and I really don't know how much longer they'll last. OK Go return at no.7, pushing John Butler Trio out in the process. The Australian Chart sees Yves Klein Blue get a second no.1 with Digital Love ahead of The Bedroom Philosopher, an entry for John Butler Trio and a return for Grinspoon. Powderfinger also return after a week out, with Sail The Wildest Stretch at no.10. Go/No-Go, Midnight Juggernauts and Operator Please are the leavers. Boy, what a mouthful.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 12/7/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Good to see It's Working still climbing and good jump for JBT. I like MGMT debut as well. Hopefully Boy & Bear, Flowers, Gyroscope, JBT, MGMT & Paramore can debut.
In a week in the AFL (sorry people who have no idea what I am on about) where giants like Geelong and St Kilda fell, a similar phenomenon happened to my charts this week. 3-week no.1 Holiday by Vampire Weekend has made way for one of the more obscure no.1s in IH100 history, with Brisbane band Yves Klein Blue jumping to top spot with album track Digital Love, from their album Ragged & Ecstatic. Because it isn't a single and the only Youtube vid of it is them playing it live, I went to the trouble of uploading it myself and the video is at the bottom of this post for you to view. OK Go jump to no.2 with Needing / Getting, whilst Sally Seltmann provides the highest debut with Harmony To My Heartbeat at no.5. Art vs Science debut at no.9 with new single Magic Fountain, whlst Sally Seltmann's more recent single Dream About Changing debuts at no.11.
Franz Ferdinand should be in the Vintage Chart by now, but Ulysses will not stop at 36 weeks and counting. It has broken a record for the highest amount of weeks in for a song which has just bulleted, bulleting to no.6 this week in front of a bullet for Grinspoon's latest single Premonitions. British India debut twice this week, with latest single Avalanche at no.16 and album track Friends at no.22. MGMT and Birds of Tokyo bullet, with Song for Dan Treacy at no.24 and The Saddest Thing I Know at no.25. Kiss of Life spends its 34th week in the top 50 and in the chart overall, but it as at no.50 and is likely to slip again next week out of the top 50. In the vicinity of a Washington bullet (Clementine at no.53), Brandon Flowers debuts at no.55 with highly-anticipated single Crossfire. Elsewhere in the IH100, Amy Meredith and Cheryl Cole debut low.
Amongst the leavers this week are Dizzee Rascal, Franz Ferdinand and a short-lived run for Eminem. In the Bubbling Under, Paramore and The Drums add to the list which still includes Jay-Z, OK Go and Gyroscope. The main difference here this week is, that an artist whose first single I rated as one of the worst of 2009 has added to the list. Yes, its Jason Derulo with Ridin' Solo, which is likely to chart. Eventually. Meanwhile, in the Vintage Chart, Franz Ferdinand stay on top of the top 20 with The Fallen and they debut in the top 10 also with Michael. Muse and Taking Back Sunday are close to hitting no.1, with Stockholm Syndrome and Sink Into Me in numbers 2 and 3 respectively. In the Albums Chart, TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB IS FINALLY OFF THE TOP AFTER 18 WEEKS AT NO.1, with the unlikely hero in MGMT overtaking them with Congratulations. Yves Klein Blue stay on the top in the Aussie Chart.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 19/7/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, must peak in top 10, song retires after 75 weeks in
Before I start commentary, I have two changes to the IH100: - Songs now do no longer need to have a peak of at least 10 to gain platinum status, so long as they have at least 10 weeks in. - Peaks have weeks at no.1 added in brackets.
This week, Sally Seltmann jumps to no.1 with Harmony To My Heartbeat; meanwhile, The Bedroom Philosopher jumps to no.2 ahead of last week's no.1 Yves Klein Blue. Two Door Cinema Club's fourth single Come Back Home now has a music video clip, so it has increased in popularity for me, bulleting to no.4 this week ahead of another bullet for Franz Ferdinand's Ulysses. Birds of Tokyo continue their rise with The Saddest Thing I Know jumping to no.11. OK Go and MGMT bullet slightly within the top 20 and may strike the top 10 soon. The Drums provide the highest debut, with much belated entry Let's Go Surfing.
In the Bubbling Under, Birds of Tokyo, Children Collide, Washington, The Soft Pack and Yves Klein Blue's most popular song Polka add to the list. Meanwhile, in the Vintage Chart, the top 3 all consist of new entries - they are from The White Stripes, Foo Fighters and The Grates. Yves Klein Blue cap off a reasonably good week, with The Streetlight debuting at no.19. Not too much movement in the Albums Chart after last week's shake-up, but Franz Ferdinand bullet to third spot with their self-titled debut album. Elsewhere, in the Australian Chart, Birds of Tokyo debut at no.4 and Sally Seltmann goes to the top.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 26/7/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
I like the rule change, finally Uprising & Fire get the accreditation they deserve. New #1 is better this week since I know it this time. Good jumps for Bedroom Philosopher, Birds of Tokyo, MGMT, and wow to see Franz finally reaching the top 5 I also like the non-Derulo debuts. Do I recall you mentioning an age rule for debuts, since Polka is about two years old now? Hope the top four from the list can make it.
@Hijinx Ulysses would have been no.1 for at least 10 weeks had I started the IH100 earlier last year instead of November. Also, Polka is likely to go to the Vintage, not IH100. I realised this issue after I posted the chart and have been mentally discussing in my head all week.
This week, Sally Seltmann stays on top with Harmony To My Heartbeat. Great week for Birds of Tokyo, with The Saddest Thing I Know peaking and Plans debuting. Washington debuts her third IH100 entry, with Sunday Best debuting at no.25. MGMT own the bottom part of the top 10, with Congratulations and It's Working close to the top. The other debut comes from Jay-Z/Rihanna/Kanye West, with Run This Town at no.47. Another belated occurrence with Ulysses bulleting to no.2.

Good #1, I'm thinking of giving her a debut this week. Wow @ Ulysses, a potential #1? Also good to see Birds & MGMT climbing in the top 10. I also like the Washington & Birds of Tokyo debuts. From the bubbling list, go the first three, all the MGMT, the first two Mumfords and the first Paramore. All the vintage debuts are excellent as well.
Great to hear about Sally hopefully debuting in yours, hijinx.
In many other chart threads, I have seen guessing games for entries, so I thought considering I have finished my chart for tomorrow, I can have my own little entry guessing game for everyone. I hope I haven't made it too hard, but I guess it might be naturally hard because of the obscurity of some of the entries for tomorrow's chart.

Oh, and some of the entries for tomorrow were in last week's Bubbling Under and some of them weren't. Last edited:
This week, Sally Seltmann spends a third week on top of the IH100 with Harmony To My Heartbeat. Yves Klein Blue slip 7 spots, and as a result Birds of Tokyo jumps to no.4 with The Saddest Thing I Know. Jason Derulo bullets to no.6 with his only IH100 hit to date, with Ridin' Solo jumping 42 spots. Mumford & Sons return in the top 20 and Enrique Iglesias debuts nearby at no.19. Aussie indie groups Children Collide and Boy & Bear each debut for the first time in IH100 history. Two Door Cinema Club return with their greatest b-side to date. Meanwhile, Grizzly Bear debut with a Live Session at no.97, and MGMT debut with 2 songs (Siberian Breaks and Someone's Missing). As a result, the only song from MGMT's album Congratulations which hasn't charted (Lady Dada's Nightmare).
Darwin Deez, Lily Allen and Richard Vission/friends are amongst the leavers, with Dead Letter Circus, Operator Please, Klaxons, Linkin Park, Muse and Midnight Youth added to the chart's list of potential debutants. In the Vintage Chart, The White Stripes hold on top of the chart with Blue Orchid for the third week. Vampire Weekend debut at Mansard Roof, with a Pearl Jam classic making way. MGMT's album Congratulations hang on top of the Albums Chart for the fourth week, with Vampire Weekend's Contra returning at no.5. In the Aussie Chart, Sally Seltmann stays on top and Birds of Tokyo repeat their IH100 success this week.

Oddly enough, I did suspect the other song to be Grizzly Bear, but I couldn't think of what song it would be.
Hehe, they do stand out a bit, but there's nothing wrong with diversity. Good to see jumps from Birds of Tokyo (twice!), MGMT, Art vs Science, Flowers & Tame Impala. Great [re]-entries from Mumford & Sons, Children Collide, Boy & Bear & MGMT (particularly Siberian Breaks).
Hopefully DLC, The Drums, Klaxons, Mumfords (Roll Away Your Stone), Muse & Paramore (Ignorance)
Interesting to see you charting Jason Derulo and I Like It too. Good to see Little Lion Man re-enter. Good to see Birds of Tokyo and Brandon Flowers charting well. Sad to see the John Butler Trio plummet though.
Not until today did I realise that it is Franz Ferdinand bassist Robert Hardy's birthday. Coincidentally, Ulysses jumps to no.1 with Harmony To My Heartbeat down to no.4. OK Go debut at no.2 with Last Leaf, stealing the limelight of Birds of Tokyo's bullet at no.3. Mumford & Sons bullet at no.11 with Little Lion Man, ahead of the debut of Operator Please's third single Like Magic, taken from their album Gloves. Enrique Iglesias and Children Collide both bullet at numbers 17 and 18 respectively. Boy & Bear continue a week of bullets, jumping to no.39. Muse, Paramore and The Drums provide the other debuts.
In the Bubbling Under, Children Collide and Little Red add to the list, and Franz Ferdinand also add to the list with a return for remix track The Vaguest of Feeling. Queen hang at no.2 again with Muse debuting on top of the Vintage Chart with Citizen Erased, and The White Stripes slip to no.5. In the Albums Chart, Franz Ferdinand cap off a splendid week with Tonight jumping to the top. In addition, whilst no albums leave, Muse bullet to no.4 with Absolution. In the Australian Chart, Birds of Tokyo jump to the top, with The Saddest Thing I Know on top, and second single Plans hangs on.

Wait, so you don't keep track of your favourite band's member's birthdays? Hehe, I only found out about it today as well. Great to see Franz finally to number one, their first number one if I recall correctly. Also good jumps for Birds of Tokyo (twice!)Mumfords, Children Collide, Cloud Control, Boy & Bear, and anyone I've missed. Great to see debuts for Operator Please, Muse ( ), & The Drums.
Franz Ferdinand stay at no.1 with Ulysses, and Children Collide bullet to no.2 with Jellylegs. Birds of Tokyo and OK Go remain in the top 5, whilst Art vs Science peak at no.4 with Magic Fountain. Operator Please, Mumford & Sons, MGMT, Washington, The Bloody Beetroots, Birds of Tokyo, Two Door Cinema Club and Boy & Bear provide the highest bullets this week. Franz Ferdinand and MGMT re-entered while Little Red, Operator Please, Mumford & Sons and Klaxons debut. Paramore, Muse and Lily Allen are amongst the leavers, whilst Cloud Control and The Dead Weather are added to the Bubbling Under List.
Queen go to the top at no.1 of the Vintage Chart after 3 weeks at no.2. The Grates peak at no.2, with Muse making way for The Fratellis. Muse jump to the top of the Albums Chart with Absolution leaping ahead of Tonight by Franz Ferdinand. Elsewhere, Children Collide rocket to the top of the Aussie Chart and Cloud Control return at no.8.

also, R.I.P. Charles Haddon from Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, who committed suicide last week.
Didn't even notice the roll over in accreds last week, congrats to Franz, White Rabbits & Pearl Jam.
Cool to see Franz at number one, even cooler to see the four movers into the top 10. Outside the top 10, good moves for MGMT, Cloud Control, Birds of Tokyo and Boy & Bear. Also excellent entries for Little Red, Mumford & Sons & Klaxons.
Go DLC, Paramore & The Dead Weather from the bubblers.
My birthday is on Wednesday (Sept 1st), meaning that this week's no.1 is my inaugural birthday no.1. It would have been fitting to see Franz stay on top for a third week, but Grizzly Bear overtake them and achieve their first no.1 in the process with a massive 8-spot jump for album track Dory. It is quite possibly one of the slowest songs to ever grace the top of the IH100, but it thoroughly deserves it. MGMT bullet into the top 10 with Song For Dan Treacy, whilst The Bloody Beetroots, Two Door Cinema Club (Costume Party) and Boy & Bear provide the other high bullets. Following the saddening suicide of their lead singer, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool re-enter the top 20 with no.1 Dance The Way I Feel. Latest single Jackson's Last Stand is possibly one week away from entering the Bubbling Under at the very least. Amy Meredith return with Lying, which achieves a peak of 82. John Butler Trio, Cloud Control and Paramore provide the actual new entries, but they are all in the bottom 10 of the chart. Kasabian's 34-week hit Fire is among the leavers. Passion Pit's Sleepyhead joins the Bubbling Under list.
In the Vintage Chart, Franz Ferdinand jump to the top with suggestive track Michael, whilst Muse and Children Collide stay on top of the Albums and Aussie charts respectively. This week I am getting an iPod Classic as well as (presumably) a lot of new music so next week should be more exciting.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 30/8/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
At least the number one isn't ancient anymore, although my Grizzly Bear knowledge is scarce, so I have nothing to say about that one. Good to see MGMT move into the top 10, as well as rises for Ou Est Le, Little Red, Franz & Midnight Juggernauts. Good entries for JBT & Paramore as well. Hope to see entries from Children Collide, DLC, Passion Pit & The Dead Weather.
Grizzly Bear hangs on for a second week on top with Dory, with Children Collide occupying two spots in the top 5. Cloud Control break Jet's record for the longest jump in the IH100. Jet's track Times Like This has been overtaken by Cloud Control's second single There's Nothing In The Water We Can't Fight, which jumps 90 spots to no.5 this week. In the Vintage, The Grates finally get to the top. In the Albums, MGMT get back on top and the Aussie Chart provides the second no.1 in as many weeks for Children Collide.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 6/9/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
This week, Children Collide get their first no.1 with My Eagle on top in just its second week. Cloud Control jump to no.2 with There's Nothing In The Water We Can't Fight, and Ball Park Music debut at no.3 with the quirky track Sea Stranglers (I Don't Really Know You). Grizzly Bear and MGMT round out the top 5. OK Go, Passion Pit and Amy Meredith debut whilst four entries come from Gyroscope, two from Powderfinger and also White Rabbits's 4th single The Salesman (Tramp Life). Dead Letter Circus, The Bloody Beetroots and former no.1 Two Door Cinema Club's Undercover Martyn are among the leavers.
Darwin Deez adds to the Bubbling Under with his latest single Up In The Clouds, whilst Operator Please may re-enter with Just Kiss. Due to the Powderfinger concert I went to on Saturday (supported by Jet and The Vasco Era), the top 3 in the Vintage Chart are dominated by Powderfinger and Jet. These Days debuts on top with Franz Ferdinand also providing a debut at no.20. Elsewhere, Passion Pit go to the top of the Albums Chart with Manners and Grinspoon debut with Easy; and in the Aussie Chart, Children Collide stay on top again whilst Little Red creep in at no.9.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 13/9/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
WOW! You went to the Powderfinger concert! I wish I went. It's so sad they're disbanding.
Fantastic rise for Little Red but sad to see The Saddest Thing I Know out of the top 10. Sad too to see Revolution and Some Of The Places I Know fall out.
Liam and I are on holidays this week, and his chart will be posted next Monday along with his chart for next week. However, here's mine for the 20/9. Sorry for the lack of notes. :p
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 20/9/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
Children Collide spend their third week on top with My Eagle, and Art vs Science and Cloud Control bullet in the top 5. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Ball Park Music each provide their second entry in the IH100 this week, with Jackson's Last Stand entering at no.6 and iFly at no.7. Jonathan Boulet's second entry Ones Who Fly Twos Who Die debuts at no.20, and Pearl Jam and Hot Chip are the amongst the leaving songs (The Fixer was one of the original inaugural songs in the IH100, and is now out after 45 weeks in). Hurts and The Wombats are added to the Bubbling Under along with Maroon 5.
Powderfinger stay on top of the Vintage Chart, whilst Muse debut with Black Holes and Revelations track Soldier's Poem. The Fratellis exit with Baby Fratelli. In the Albums Chart, Passion Pit return to the top and Grizzly Bear re-enter - pushing Flight of the Conchords out in the process. Children Collide stay on top of the Australian Chart.
A quick note this week, the entire IH100 top 5 is Australian - something which has never happened in this chart's 46-week history.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 27/9/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
This week in the IH100, Children Collide stay on top for a fourth week with My Eagle, whilst Ou Est Le Swimming Pool jump to no.2 with Jackson's Last Stand. Also in the top 10, Art vs Science slip to no.7 with Magic Fountain, and Jonathan Boulet's Ones Who Fly Twos Who Die jumps to 8th place. OK Go switch places with Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., and Jack Johnson and Powderfinger provide some strong bullets within the top 50 this week. The Ting Tings, Deep Sea Arcade, Jonathan Boulet and Washington all with entries this week - the latter of which has three debuts and a return as well as three added songs to the Bubbling Under list.
But it isn't just Washington who is having a good week - Children Collide, Blur and Kele all add to the Bubbling Under list. Artists leaving this week include Angus & Julia Stone, Audio Bullys and Muse. Meanwhile, Muse jump to top spot on the Vintage Chart whilst The Used have their very first entry - Pretty Handsome Awkward debuts at no.20. Jet's Look What You've Done leaves as a result. In the Albums Chart, Passion Pit stay on top for a third week whilst Cloud Control bullet, and Washington and Children Collide enter for Fleet Foxes and the 18-week no.1 provided by Two Door Cinema Club. Elsewhere, in the Australian Chart, Children Collide's My Eagle spends its fifth consecutive week at no.1 whilst Jonathan Boulet caps off an excellent week, debuting at no.7.
Also, I made the mistake of assuming Midnight Youth were Aussie. They are actually from New Zealand.
Lastly, if My Eagle is no.1 next week, it will equal Friendly Fires's record of 5 weeks on top.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 4/10/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
I slightly prefer the Ou Est Le Swimming Pool track so I hope they can get to #1. Good to see The Ting Tings debut, and probably Jonathan Boulet but I can't remember off the top of my head how the song goes, but I recognise the name. It's always nice to see Muse at #1 on vintage, and is that TDCC falling out of the album chart
With TDCC even I was surprised. Despite still keeping a presence in the IH100, their album just hasn't been able to stay in the Albums Chart.
As for Boulet, it wasn't a single but I got the album and loved that song, and I love it even more after it was included (along with Percussion Gun by White Rabbits) on the soundtrack to the FIFA World Cup South Africa video game.
I could probably just look up the Boulet song on iTunes, it's got such a distinctive title which I'd recall radio presenters reading out and hence I'd have heard it, along with "A Community Service Announcement", "Ones Who Fly Twos Who Die", "321 Ready Or Not".
Children Collide stay on top for an equal-record fifth week with My Eagle, equalling the five weeks with Friendly Fires and their single Kiss of Life. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool stay at no.2, with three debuts from no.3 to no.5. Rage's Indie of the Week, Daniel Lee Kendall's Lost In The Moment, debuts at no.3 and it sounds a lot like Kisschasy's Dinosaur. Interpol debut at no.4 with Barricade and Kings of Leon enter at no.5 with Radioactive. The other debuts come from The Vasco Era, Washington and MGMT - with the latter scoring its final song from Congratulations to chart, with Lady Dada's Nightmare entering at no.98.
Grinspoon have 2 songs leaving whilst The Chemist add to the large Bubbling Under List. In the Vintage Chart, Powderfinger jump back to the top with Muse and Bullet For My Valentine debuting. The Albums Chart sees Washington jumping to no.1 with I Believe You Liar, and Children Collide stay on top of the Australian Chart.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 11/10/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
Have you really charted all of Congratulations now? Nice work. Great to see Interpol & Kings of Leon debut, and in the top 5 as well. Don't know the top debut, but the lower ones are pretty good overall.
It's official: the empire of My Eagle is over. After 5 weeks at no.1 and equalling Friendly Fires's record of 5 weeks on top, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool catapults to top spot with Jackson's Last Stand. This is the second no.1 for Ou Est, with Dance The Way I Feel having made no.1 earlier in the year. Daniel Lee Kendall and Interpol bullet to numbers 2 and 3 respectively, whilst The Temper Trap return with Science of Fear and Sweet Disposition. Science of Fear previously had a peak of no.27, this week it's at no.8; as for Sweet Disposition, its highest was previously no.52 and this week it has a new peak of no.12. Elsewhere, Operator Please, Hurts, The Wombats, Sally Seltmann, The Chemist and returns for British India and Vampire Weekend round out the entries this week. Former no.1 Yves Klein Blue's Digital Love is amongst many leaving this week.
In the Bubbling Under, Children Collide and Cloud Control are amongst many making a very healthy contribution to the list which now boasts 25 songs. Meanwhile, Fleet Foxes go to the top of the Vintage Chart, Washington stays on top of the Albums Chart, and Daniel Lee Kendall goes to the top of the Australian Chart in a week of craziness.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 18/10/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
After Children Collide's record-breaking ending last week, it's hard to believe another record-breaking event can occur so soon. Well it has, and by this I mean the record amount of entries this week: 14 in total which includes a re-entry for Operator Please. The Vasco Era provide the highest, with Be There Tonight debuting at no.2, just short of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool who hang on to top spot for a second week with Jackson's Last Stand. Daniel Lee Kendall and Cloud Control remain in the top 5, whilst Jonathan Boulet achieves his second top 5 hit (after A Community Service Announcement): Ones Who Fly Twos Who Die bullets to no.5. Interpol and Kings of Leon round out the top 10 along with a bullet for Deep Sea Arcade's third single Keep On Walking and a debut each for Arctic Monkeys and Cloud Control. My Eagle continues its fall at no.11 this week, and its run in the IH100 has been:
2-1-1-1-1-1-4-11
Whilst it was on top for five consecutive weeks, My Eagle still didn't have the same longevity as Kiss of Life. Children Collide and My Chemical Romance are the 4th and 5th debuts within the top 20 this week, and oddly-named US band Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsen enter at no.25 with Sink / Let it Sway. Leaving this week are 14 songs, and they include Mike Posner, Jason Derulo, Klaxons, Brandon Flowers, The Wombats and a former no.1 from Jay-Z. Due to the amazing amount of debuts this week, the Bubbling Under List has 19 songs compared to 25 last week. In spite of this, Brandon Flowers, OK Go and Jay-Z add to it, whilst Washington should count herself unlucky for not having her latest single The Hardest Part debut this week.
Nowhere near as much action in the Vintage Chart this week, but Muse and Fleet Foxes switch spots up the top, with Soldier's Poem on top for its first week. The Fratellis re-enter at no.3 with Whistle for the Choir, while Muse's Apocalypse Please is forced to make way. In the Albums Chart, Washington stays on top for a third week whilst Gyroscope kick Muse out at tenth spot. Meanwhile, in the Australian Chart, The Vasco Era knock Daniel Lee Kendall off top spot. If you are wondering why I am a day late with today's chart, my exams started today and will continue through to the end of next week.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 25/10/10
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
Nice to see Ou Est Le Swimming Pool on top for another week. I don't know the Vasco Era song but it's probably another one of theirs that I just don't recognise by the title. Did you only just get into Crying Lightning? I charted it 14 months ago to a nice peak of #2. Great debuts for MCR & Gyroscope which just happens to be my top two this week I also see you've made it to the 5xPlat mark, which also means that it's your 50th chart Congrats to Percussion Gun, Ulysses & Live Alone, all awesome songs.
Soldier's Poem is a bit of a bizarre #1 on the vintage chart, I almost class it as an interlude, but I don't really give it that much of a listen. 15 other tracks of the 20 are awesome though.
Nice to see Gyroscope debut on the album chart, great album, pity it's at the expense of Absolution, which has a greatness that I don't have the space to express here.
I always knew Crying Lightning but only just realised it was Humbug (and therefore, chart-able) a few weeks ago.
Yeah, MCR definitely deserved a top 20 spot, and What Do I Know About Pain? may just be Gyroscope's biggest hit here (Some Of The Places I Know #14, Baby I'm Gettin' Better #38).
50th week!!! My 1-year anniversary on this site in a couple of weeks, it'll be cool because it will coincide with the end of my exams.
Soldier's Poem is almost like an interlude, isn't it. Black Holes is probably my favourite Muse album and any song really has the ability to hit no.1 on the Vintage (perhaps except for Hoodoo and Exo-Politics which are ok :p).
Absolution is awesome too.
Ha! Didn't realise how long my comment got as well! :p
Good to see Kings of Leon and the Temper Trap in the top 12! Also good to see Na Na Na (etc etc.) and Gyroscope debut. Also good to see Little Lion Man and Sail The Wildest Stretch on Platinum 2. Good to see they're still charting too!
Great that your charting Heartbreak Warfare too! You charted Cooler Than Me too!
Yeah thanks, Science of Fear and Sweet Disposition are my two favourite Temper Trap songs.
Also, I can confirm that next week there is a likelihood a re-entry will hit no.1. It charted below the top 50, and it has just been made a single with a video released. Good luck to anyone who can guess it.
And also just asking for people's thoughts on a proposal for my chart: would an ARIA Chart be better than an Aussie Chart for my IH100 (that is, similar to Hijinx's)? Last edited:
Science of Fear is my favourite Temper Trap song, but I can't quite decide between Sweet Disposition, Fader & Love Lost for 2nd lol.
I wouldn't have a clue what the re-entry is, I'd guess TDCC but there's no information on their Wiki Article.
I'd be very curious to see a chart like that. I know you don't like a lot of charting songs, so depending on how big it is, it could be interesting to see what comes up.
My chart will always be dominated by indie/rock. This chart is just a way for me to try and get into more mainstream stuff and just expand my taste a little. It shouldn't affect the ACW much at all.
With the chart's one-year anniversary coming up next week (technically 18th November, but my 52nd chart is next week), another record has occurred in the IH100. Operator Please's fourth single Volcanic has become the very first song to re-enter at no.1. Volcanic had 10 weeks as an album track in the chart, peaking at no.52 before leaving in mid-August. Last week's no.1 Jackson's Last Stand falls to no.4. There are six debuts this week compared to an overwhelming 14 from last week. The highest entry comes at no.80 with Jay-Z's track A Star Is Born featuring J. Cole.
The Bubbling Under List this week gets another makeover, with Western Australian Felicity Groom and critically acclaimed New Zealander group OpShop enter and could be just a week away from debuting. In the Vintage Chart, Muse are on top for another week with interlude-like track Soldier's Poem. Muse also leave with Map of the Problematique, and Kaiser Chiefs debut at no.12 with Good Days Bad Days. Washington stay on top of the Albums Chart for a fourth week ahead of a re-entry for Operator Please's Gloves. As a direct result of the IH100's new no.1, Volcanic conquers to the top of the Aussie Chart also.
News on the potential new chart I am proposing: I am considering dumping the Australian Chart and replacing it with a top 5 Mainstream Chart, which may result in some mainstream songs entering the Bubbling Under and then perhaps the IH100.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 1/11/10

Wow, a re-entry at #1 I don't think that's possible for me, a reentry would be lucky to be more than a few spots above the bottom. Nice rises for The Chemist (I think I know this, but if not I probably like it, as I have their previous efforts), Gyroscope, MCR, White Rabbits, Franz (Live Alone) & MGMT. Nice entries for Flowers & Midnight Juggernauts (unfortunately hasn't quite been able to make my chart at this point).
I hope you plan on starting a new thread for the new year, because my computer really isn't a fan of loading this whole page up lol.
As I said last week, I'd welcome that extra chart, could be quite interesting, and there's never anything wrong with expanding one's horizons. Last edited:
Yes, that means that next week: - will be the final week for the Albums and Australian Charts - will be the first week for the Mainstream Chart (either top 5 or top 10) - and the 52nd week of my charts (pretty much the one-year anniversary)
You may read on its thread that the Liam's Top 75 Songs chart will no longer be posted, but I can say that the Irelander's Hot 100 will definitely continue.
HOORAY!! It's the 52nd edition of the Irelander's Hot 100, which in my book is close enough to a One-Year Anniversary! This is the largest edition I will probably ever post, due of course to the Albums and Australian Charts in their final week and the Mainstream Chart debuting. In the top 100, Operator Please hang on at no.1 for another week with Volcanic, holding off strong competition in the form of Deep Sea Arcade, The Vasco Era and Cloud Control. Australians are really dominating the chart, with the top 5 dominated all by Aussies and 15 of the top 25 songs all from Aussie artists. Gyroscope, The Chemist and Midnight Juggernauts bullet into the top 10, with the latter scoring the most impressive jump of the week - no.94 to no.10, the 2nd largest in IH100 history only behind Cloud Control's crazy leap for 'There's Nothing In The Water We Can't Fight' in its second week. The Bloody Beetroots provide the highest entry this week, with Cornelius re-entering at no.50 after only one week off the chart. Yves Klein Blue, Local Natives and Hurts are amongst the debutants, while Jay-Z and Vampire Weekend make way. The Bubbling Under List has exploded this week, with 40 songs in it this week, a jump from 25 last week. This number is a new record.
Now for the all-new Mainstream Chart: the rules are: - the songs must be in either the Australian, New Zealand or UK charts. - songs may eventually enter Bubbling Under List - songs which have already made the Bubbling Under or IH100 chart are ineligible
The first Mainstream no.1 is, unfortunately, Duck Sauce's Barbra Streisand; however, it has strong competition from Short Stack and Adrian Lux. The Vintage Chart, which will unaffected by the various changes happening in my chart world, sees The Fratellis on to with Whistle For The Choir. The Glasgow outfit also debut with a song of profanity, titled 'Cuntry Boys & City Girls'. Just for the record, it's a hidden track in their first album Costello Music. In the Albums Chart, Operator Please will be the final ever Albums no.1 with Gloves in its first week on top. Newly-purchased albums in my household 'The Golden Year' by Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and 'The Crystal Axis' by Midnight Juggernauts debut, and effectively spend their only week in the chart. The final ever edition of the Aussie Chart tells a similar story to the IH100 itself - Operator Please on top in its second week.
Feel free to comment!

One-Year Anniversary
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
Congrats on the anniversary! Great to see Gyroscope & The Chemist in the top 10 and a mammoth jump for Midnight Juggernauts. Nice to see White Rabbits back in the top 20 & Washington moving up there as well. I like the lower rebounds for Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend & MGMT. Nice jump for Washington there as well. Nice rebound for Midnight Juggernauts.
I like the Hurts debut but don't know any of the other. Go Blur for bubblers!
The ARIA chart is interesting. I am very indifferent with Duck Sauce, but Nelly & Adrian Lux are good.
Cloud Control finally ascend to the heavens of the IH100, with There's Nothing In The Water We Can't Fight making it to no.1 in its 12th week. In fact, it's a terrific week for the Blue Mountaineers, as Ghost Story debuts at no.10, Meditation Song #2 stays in the top 20, Gold Canary hangs on to a top 50 spot, This Is What I Said bullets to no.69, and three more album tracks are added to the Bubbling Under List. Within the top 5, Daniel Lee Kendall jumps back to his peak of no.2 with Lost In The Moment, whilst Gyroscope bullets to no.4 with their highest ever entry in What Do I Know About Pain?. Elsewhere, Tame Impala provide a re-entry peak at no.9 with Solitude Is Bliss (previous peak of 11) as well as debuting at no.22 with a cover of Vital Signs by the Midnight Juggernauts, which is at no.43 this week. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool have a trio of debuts this week - singles These New Knights at no.13 and The Key at no.45, as well as You Started at no.15. Ancient tracks from Lisa Mitchell and Angus & Julia Stone also enter. Art vs Science, Birds of Tokyo, Hurts and OK Go are the among the leavers, with OK Go's WTF? missing out on a 50th week milestone if it hang on for a few more weeks. Down the bottom of the chart, Blur and Brooke Fraser open their IH100 accounts at numbers 93 and 97 respectively. OK Go track I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe joins the 38-song Bubbling Under List.
In the Mainstream Chart, Duck Sauce slip to no.3 with Barbra Streisand while Short Stack go to top spot with Planets. Stan Walker's track Choose You leaves to make way for a debut at no.4 for Enrique Iglesias's 'Heartbeat' featuring Nicole Scherzinger. Some may remember that I Like It went to no.17 in the IH100, so Heartbeat has a good chance of charting too if it follows the same path. In the Vintage Chart, The Fratellis stay on top for a second week with Whistle For The Choir, and it looks like it's there to stay. The Fratellis not only bullet with For The Girl at no.3, but also debut with Vince The Loveable Stoner (I promise, it's the name of a song) at no.4. Lily Allen makes her Vintage debut with Smile at no.18, whilst Fleet Foxes and an epic Muse track leave.
For those of you who may not have been paying much attention, the Aussie Chart and Albums Chart no longer exist as of last week.
Feel free to comment!

Edition No.53
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
Gyroscope jump to their first week on top of the Irelander's Hot 100, with third single 'What Do I Know About Pain?' now on top. Deep Sea Arcade just miss out with Keep On Walking, and Tame Impala finally enter the top 5 with psychedelic track Solitude Is Bliss. Midnight Juggernauts, Children Collide, Cloud Control, My Chemical Romance, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Amy Meredith all have high bullets. Sleigh Bells provide the highest debut of the week, with Infinity Guitars at no.14. British India, Amy Meredith and Washington all have entries this week. Blur's short-lived run in the IH100 ends after one week, while Operator Please and a Two Door Cinema Club number one also fall off. Darwin Deez and The Bedroom Philosopher add to the Bubbling Under, which features 40 songs.
In the Mainstream Chart, Adrian Lux jumps to no.1 with Teenage Crime, becoming the third no.1 in as many weeks. Bruno Mars debuts at no.4 with Just The Way You Are, with Nelly making way. The Vintage Chart sees The Fratellis on top for a third week, whilst they have three other tracks in the top 10. Natasha Bedingfield debuts and Muse returns, whilst Franz Ferdinand and Lily Allen leave.

Another eventful week in the IH100 sees Deep Sea Arcade achieve their second no.1, with Keep On Walking getting to top spot in its ninth week in the chart. Keep On Walking does not have a video (that I know of), but it is an official single. Gyroscope have slipped from no.1 to no.6 with What Do I Know About Pain?; and Kings of Leon, Children Collide, Brooke Fraser and !!! (pronounced Chk-Chk-Chk) bullet into the top 20. Two Door Cinema Club return into the chart, with Something Good Can Work, and other entries come from Darwin Deez, Amy Meredith and The Bedroom Philosopher amongst some others. Midnight Youth and Brandon Flowers leave along with four other tracks, and Kimbra, Does It Offend You Yeah? and Neon Trees add to the Bubbling Under.
Three songs this week have become the first products of the Mainstream Chart:
Adrian Lux - Teenage Crime Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand Short Stack - Planets
All of these are 'retired', and as such are now in the Bubbling Under to contend with the other 40 songs for a spot in the IH100 next week. On the Mainstream Chart itself, Boy & Bear debuts at no.1 with their cover of Crowded House classic Fall At Your Feet, which spent last week at no.34 on the ARIA Singles Chart. In the Vintage Chart, The Fratellis occupy the top three spots whilst Kasabian and Muse round out the top 5. Natasha Bedingfield leaves after one week.

Absolutely awesome jump from Brooke Fraser to #13!! I got my fingers crossed that Adrian Lux's Teenage Crime can hit the main chart. Nice to see you charting Ball Park Music too.
It mainly irritates me because it tends to get played on the radio every second days + "Why-o-why-o-why-o-why-o-why-o-why-o-why-o etc" x infinitum to repeat ad nauseum!
Ouch! For Gyroscope But awesome rise for Kings of Leon! Good to see Young At Heart, Brooke Fraser, Little Lion Man, Sail The Wildest Stretch and Comeback up! Also great to see Lying re-enter as well!
Good to see Barbra Streisand and Planets promoted. I hope Neon Trees, Mumford and Sons, Amy Meredith, Little Red and The John Butler Trio can debut soon!
Great to see Heartbeat up too and Short Stack debut.
Ooh, I skipped over the bubblers, go AVS, Jimmy Eat World, Midnight Juggernauts (X2), Neon Trees (X2). I'm guessing the Does it Offend You, Yeah! song is some sort of combination between Dawn of the Dead & We Are Rockstars, which means I might like it!
This week, Washington ascends to the top in the fourth new no.1 in as many weeks on the Irelander's Hot 100; however, Australia's queen of indie will most likely remain on the top for more than one week. Big debuts for Violent Soho, Numbers Radio, Adrian Lux, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Grafton Primary within the top 20; with Lux's Teenage Crime becoming the first song to debut in the IH100 after originating from the new Mainstream Chart - or rather, Lux and Duck Sauce's Barbra Streisand are the first two, with Duck Sauce entering at no.78. Other entries come from Ball Park Music, The Honey Month and Jimmy Eat World, and those who make way include Kele, Children Collide and Angus & Julia Stone.
Yves Klein Blue and Powderfinger add to the Bubbling Under, whilst Boy & Bear retire from the Mainstream Chart after just one week in with their cover of Crowded House's Fall At Your Feet. In the Mainstream Chart, Bruno Mars fills the vacancy with Grenade at no.5, whilst Enrique Iglesias edges out Nelly for top spot. The Vintage Chart sees a fifth week on the top for The Fratellis, with Whistle For The Choir blitzing all beneath it yet again this week. Fleet Foxes's sole Vintage no.1, White Winter Hymnal, leaves after 11 weeks in the chart, as does Muse's Butterflies and Hurricanes. The entries come from Vampire Weekend and Calvin Harris.
----------------------------------------------
NEWS: As you may remember, I had a top 100 of the best ranked songs last year, but I don't really like doing it that way. This time round, my best of 2010 list will be solely opinion-based, so tracks that may not have gotten such a favourable run in the charts can still be in the mix.
I am planning to post the chart sometime after my 27th Dec chart, but before the New Year.
For those reading this on M4B, the next four weeks of the IH100 will feature polls of your favourites out of my favourites (if that makes any sense whatsoever).

Also, with the Best of 2010 list, the only rule for eligibility is that it debuted in 2010. Even songs that debuted just before the end of 2009 but peaked in 2010 (like Dizzee Rascal's Dirtee Cash) are ineligible.
Awesome debut for Adrian Lux!!! Great to see Brooke Fraser rising even if it's only by a little bit. And Amy Meredith's Lying hitting the top 50 and getting a new peak. Sad to see Young At Heart drop so much though.
I like all the top 5 debuts, especially Numbers Radio Very nice to see Jimmy Eat World in as well, albeit a little lower. That's a similar way to how I plan on doing my EOY, except I'll probably be including some 2009 entries that peaked in 2010, there are probably only about 5-10 of them anyway.
Before I start my notes this week, I must tell everyone what an amazing couple of weeks this is for me in terms of music:
1. Last Friday night, I went to a local indie concert thingy, and The Vasco Era were the headline act. I requested Be There Tonight (IH100 peak #2) on Facebook, and as a result they mentioned my request during the show and played the song! Also expect to see some extremely obscure indie acts next week as some of the groups I saw were pretty impressive.
2. Tomorrow night, I'm going to see Muse at Rod Laver Arena. I don't need to elaborate.
------------------
On to the chart now, and it's Washington who edges out a strong jump for The Vasco Era for the number one spot. 'Underground' stays on top for another week, becoming the first song in over a month to retain a number one spot for more than one week; having said that, Be There Tonight has a very strong chance of hitting no.1 next week. Nearby, !!! continues their rise in the IH100, with Jamie, My Intentions Are Bass bulleting to no.3 above a very belated debut for epic Muse track United States of Eurasia. Its main reason for debuting now is because of tomorrow's concert. Elsewhere, Brooke Fraser bullets and Boy & Bear provide a high debut with their cover of Crowded House's Fall At Your Feet. Partly due to an abundance of returns and debuts from The Vasco Era, this week has a record number of debuts - 16 in all. Washington, Operator Please and MGMT leave.
Aussie acts Amaya Laucirica and The Holidays add to the Bubbling Under, and they are joined by Mainstream retirees Enrique Iglesias and Nelly. In the Mainstream Chart, the two retiring tracks as well as Bruno Mars's Grenade leaving opens up three spots - they are filled up by the Swedish House Mafia, The Killers and Coldplay. Swedish House Mafia's track 'Miami 2 Ibiza' featuring Tinie Tempah grabs top spot in its first week in. The Vintage Chart sees The Fratellis on top for a 6th consecutive week, as Whistle For The Choir is only one week off Muse's Stockholm Syndrome's 7-week record. Elsewhere, Vampire Weekend and Calvin Harris bullet into the top 5 whilst Fleet Foxes return after one week off - making way are Aussie group The Grates with the high-energy '19-20-20'.

For those on M4B, the countdown to the Best of 2010 poll continues this week.

Edition No.57
Platinum Status: ▲5 = 50w, ▲4 = 40w, ▲3 = 30w, ▲2 = 20w, ▲= 10w, song retires after 75 weeks in
I know so many Vasco Era songs but I couldn't tell you the name of one hehe, Muse on the other hand, well I don't need to elaborate either.
Speaking of, very nice to see United States of Eurasia in, as well as Fall At Your Feet a little lower down. Also Neon Trees, Art vs Science & Trial Kennedy!
Random to see Amaya Laucirica in there, the album was featured on JJJ at the end of November and I barely caught it at all. That very track is there for a free download so I might check it out. Go BOT, Gotye, Jebediah, KOL, Midnight Juggernauts, MCR, Neon Trees & The Holidays (should've gotten into that track earlier )
Love The Vasco Era and have done so for so many years now... it's good to see they are getting their new album some respect, it deserved ARIAs! Not Stuck Here is stuck in a battle for my Year End Top 10 atm, so that should indicate how pleased I am to see them on another personal chart, lol
Also, love Sleigh Bells, MCR, and old favourites like Local Natives, White Rabbits, Grizzly Bear and Friendly Fires.
Not sure if anyone even bothered looking at the game, but they were:
1. Little Red - Slow Motion
2. Gotye - Eyes Wide Open
3. Passion Pit - Let Your Love Grow Tall
4. Powderfinger - Iberian Dream
5. Amaya Laucirica - This World Can Make You Happy
6. My Chemical Romance - SING
7. The Vasco Era - I Am The Chosen Vessel
And here's the chart:
This week is the Christmas Edition of the IH100, as well as the penultimate chart of the year. And the seemingly endless reign of Washington's Underground on top finishes after just two weeks, due to the unstoppable rise of 'Jamie, My Intentions Are Bass' by American group !!! (pronounced Chk-Chk-Chk). Rounding out the top five is Brooke Fraser, The Vasco Era and a debut for Gotye. Amy Meredith and Yves Klein Blue bullet into the top 10; elsewhere, debuts for Amaya Laucirica, My Chemical Romance amongst others round out the notable events this week.
Jonathan Boulet, Passion Pit and a number one from Local Natives leave, whilst Deep Sea Arcade add to the Bubbling Under list with two tracks and Mumford & Sons add with a cover of Vampire Weekend's 'Cousins'. In the Mainstream Chart, Swedish House Mafia & Tinie Tempah stay on top for a second week with Miami 2 Ibiza - and in doing so, it becomes the first song to stay on top of the Mainstream Chart for more than a week because of not retiring. The Vintage Chart has a new record this week - The Fratellis' Whistle For The Choir equals the record of seven weeks on top. Foo Fighters debut with Long Road To Ruin, with Powderfinger making way.
Don't forget this time next week I will not only have the 27/12 chart, but I will post my Best of 2010 Top 200 Chart, as well as my own personal charts awards.

I did see the clues but couldn't work anything out of them, while I can see where you're getting the answers from the clues, I think they were just too hard lol.
I half heard the !!! song on Rage the other night, but not enough to form a proper opinion of it, I like Must Be the Moon from them though. Great to see Gotye debut very nicely. Nice jumps for Trial Kennedy & Art vs Science. Also great to see MCR debut.
Eagerly awaiting a new thread that doesn't cause my computer to want to crap itself very soon!
For the final chart of 2010, !!! remain on top with Jamie, My Intentions Are Bass. Washington maintains her no.2 spot with Underground, thus hinting the song may push for top spot in January. Deep Sea Arcade and Kings of Leon return to the top 10, with Keep On Walking at number 6 and Radioactive at number 8. Mumford & Sons debut at no.53 with their quirky cover of Vampire Weekend's 'Cousins'. Operator Please debut with album track 'Jealous'; and as a result the entire album Gloves has charted in the IH100:

Elsewhere, Passion Pit and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsen return and debuts come from Short Stack, British India and Neon Trees. Jimmy Eat World and Grizzly Bear are amongst the leavers; whilst in the Mainstream Chart, Swedish House Mafia retire and hand the number one spot over to Coldplay. Expect 'Miami 2 Ibiza' to debut high next week. Over in the final Vintage Chart of the year, The Fratellis now have a solo record of weeks with 8 for Whistle for the Choir; meanwhile, Jay-Z debuts at no.3 with '99 Problems'.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish everyone a great New Year. For everyone who has followed my chart this year, I thank you. I enjoy making this every Monday and I will continue to do so in 2011. From Irelander
