I thought I might share some of my old weekly charts that began in March 1993 which, at that point, were Top 20 singles charts. You can think of these as my weekly chart but rewound about 20 years, as I hope to post these charts (more or less) weekly. I stopped doing weekly charts (for good) in 2005.
Stats for the singles that would have been charting before March 1993 are educated guesses. Last Week (LW), Weeks In (WI) and Accreditation (Acc.) stats were guesstimated back in the day, whereas Highest Position (HP) stats were guesstimated just now since I didn't keep such a stat back then.

Oh how i wish music was even at this standard these days
I've been trying to track down the dance mix of the Sonia Dada track for ages! Given it was such a massive hit here, surprised it's not more readily available. Also like 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 12, 14, 17, 18 and 20. The era when US R&B started to take hold.
Hehe Antlers. I don't actually like "How Do You Talk to an Angel" anymore though.
Do you really like that many songs in my chart Beanie? Wow. Those sure were the days then!
Gavin: The dance mix is the one I charted too. It's called the Ebersold/Paige Remix and it was on their follow-up CD single "You Ain't Thinking (About Me)".
Off to eBay...
Good luck Gavin, been huntin that mutha for years!
Yeah? Can't say I've seen it in my travels with my second hand CD shoppings. Though, I already have it so I'm subconsciously not looking for it I guess. hehe
It's like the remix of Love Rears Its Ugly Head. Never bought it at the time and then took ages to find (and still only found an extended). I'll keep an eye on eBay (just looked, nothing there) now I know it was on the follow-up CD single.
Yeah. I'm still trying to find the right Soulpower remix on CD of that too Gav. There's a few of them around. One ended up as a bonus track on the "Time's Up" album and is 4:05 long. Another on the CD single which I don't have. The one I love and remember on the radio is 4:08 long.
savage, you have inspired me to try and build a time machine so I can return to the early 90s, when the music chart was the best IMO. At least I could guarantee I liked 90% of the music most weeks on the chart and that 10% I didn't has ended up being listenable as I've grown older.
Solid Top 2! 1 2 5 6 7 9 10 12 15 16 18 19
Oh Billy how i would love to be able to walk into a record store and buy a single again
November Rain is my choice of the stand out song of that time.
@BillyBrett - remember to pack a Huey Lewis CD and be very careful not to run into your other self. The consequences of that could be disastrous

Grant's Top 20 Singles - Week 11 (13/03/1993)
New Old Chartifacts:
Whitney maintains pole position for an incredible 9, 10 or 11 weeks (who really knows? Must be that many if I updated it to triple platinum "this week". lol). Looks like "Sweet Lullaby" is gonna be a big hit as it rockets into 2nd spot from 7th. It's good to see more Aussie company for Wendy Matthews this week as Hunters & Collectors debut at #9 with "True Tears of Joy". Another Top 10 debut is Sunscreem's "Love U More" at #8. Further down is the #15 debut of "House of Love" by the new, new kids on the block, East 17.

"November Rain" clocks up half a year in my Top 20 this week and it still finds itself in the top two thirds of the chart. The Four Seasons move up and spend yet another week in the bridesmaid's position. The only debut is "Cat's in the Cradle" by Ugly Kid Joe which enters straight into the top 5 at #5. "Gangsta" bullets into the Top 10 at #10 along with Elton John at #8.

Hehe Antlers. I think when you are 15, your tastes can change rather dramatically, like those 2 big drops (which both have big recoveries this week) and also the sudden re-entry of Sonia Dada at #3. haha

Really loving this retro charts savage and Beanster. Great to revisit the era that I was really active in following the charts and soaking up all the music. Really bringing back fantastic memories of my adolescence. This is just my opinion but your charts are really highlighting the vast difference in the quality of the music that is charting today, the 90s were awesome.
Happy to see "I'm Every Woman" up and "December, 1963 ..." back into the Top 10.
I'm glad that you're enjoying my charts Billeh. The '90s were truly awesome and it would be great to relive them. The music back then was definitely better than today but I wouldn't say by a huge margin though.

SG's chart Oh Jeremy Jordan, where did you go. I remember that song being everywhere on its release. And channel 10 playing it at the conclusion of every episode of 90210 for at least a month. It took me ages to really get into the slow groove of That's The Way Love Goes. Although the follow up If instantly grabbed me. Great to see Take That knocmking on the door of The Top 10.BB's chart Great to see Detachable Penis in your Top 10, that was a guilty rude pleasure for me on its release. I still remember my Dad hearing it for the first time and thinking I would get in trouble for listening to it, but he laughed his way through it. Also great to see A Whole New World in the Top 10.
Billeh. I think Jeremy's music video also helped me like the song, if you know what I mean.
In hindsight, Janet's single seems like it would be a slow burner but for some reason both Beanie and I loved it straight away. It was a strange choice for a lead single but it did the job. It got to #1 and spent 14 weeks in the Top 5.
Strangely enough, I don't like Take That's cover of that song anymore.

A 3-week #1 Beanie? That's your longest yet.
Whereas "The Hitman" has been stuck in the lower half of my Top 10 for a month now. Will it crack the Top 5 or is it running out of steam? We will have to wait and see. I sure do rate it highly, even to this day though (it's my #14 single of 1993), so it's a deserved multiple-week #1 on your chart Beanie.
Flawless top three this week. Hope Taylor does well!

I think I like a number of savage's songs, but I know I like Holy Grail.
I bet you don't like "Funky Junky" though. I'm not sure if you could find anybody that does! lol
Yay for UB40 #1, and still loving the top 3. Hope P.M. Dawn can make it to #1. Shame to see Taylor down, though.
Nice to see Silk #1 for Beanster!
I've started adding YouTube/audio links for all the songs in my charts, starting with the most recent one. I've tried to select the official music video but if the audio is too skanky then I've gone with a lyrics video or what have ya. If I can't find the song on YouTube then an audio player link with audio from my site is provided instead.

This is my first ever chart to feature no new entries (or even a re-entry). How boring.

Grant's Top 20 Singles - Week 49 (04/12/1993)
That's now 20 (non-consecutive) weeks at #1 for UB40. Holy jesus tits! It's out of control.
Hehe Bros. I actually like Urban Cookie Collective's follow-up single "Feels Like Heaven" a fair bit more these days. Not sure which one wins out on my old charts. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. hehe

Grant's Top 20 Singles - Week 50 (11/12/1993)
5 weeks of no Aussie singles in my chart comes to an end.
I absolutely love the UB40 song, but isn't 21 weeks a bit much?
Yeah. Such youthful obsession. I was only 15 at the time, soon to be 16. In fact, depending on whether my charts are dated as the week commencing or ending (I can't remember which) this week or next week's chart will be my birthday chart. heh

Grant's Top 20 Singles - Week 51 (18/12/1993)
At least half of these are top 10 worthy. The odds were better back then
lol @ the 'what is love' youtube link
Yep Dave. The qualitaaah of music was better back then. What's funny about that video in particular?
A list of weekly #1's has been added to the top of the thread.

A coupla interesting facts to add.. "What is Love" now holds the record for the longest ascension to the top spot (10 weeks). The old record was just 5 weeks for Arrested Development's "Mr. Wendal". Also, this is the first chart in over 5 months to contain more than two #1 hits. Such was UB40's dominance.
Ooops, I meant brosa0's Chaser's link last week. Funny one.
Grant's Top 20 Singles - Week 52 (25/12/1993)
Culture Beat breaks last week's record of the longest ascension to the top spot by taking 15 weeks to do it.
Naww, U2 and Radiohead slip and R.E.M. fall out
Yay Ace of Base though?

lol Beanie. Did you go on holidays?
To save confussion with my tallies I decided to follow the same path as ARIA and not release the charts like they used to do over the xmas period. I do have a chart but i'm not calculating that particular one into my EOY.
At least Haddaway managed a week at #1! OMG GO BRYAN ADAMS! <3 <3 <3 Can't believe I missed the week it debuted.
