I thought it might be a cool idea to regularly shine a light on 4 songs from the past, which I still like to this day, but may not always be so well-remembered. I posted the first bunch to the site's Facebook group last night and thought that since I'm doing a write-up on each song that I'd share them here too.

"Way of the World" by Max Q (1989) [#8 hit]

This was INXS frontman Michael Hutchence's side project. The song was a hit in the day, making the ARIA 1989 end-of-year list. Very powerful and oh-so-true lyrics as well.

"Move Me" by Basic Element (1994)

Little-known and literally a no-hit wonder eurodance group. "Move Me" was their first (and best) single. It did not make the ARIA Top 100 singles chart but managed to climb to #87 on the AMR chart.

"Insanity '99" by Oceanic (1999)

This officially released remix manages to trump the original which was a #31 hit in 1992. I was only able to find the extended mix on YT. You will have to visit my site to hear the much-preferred edit.

"Blue" by The Jayhawks (1995) [#49 hit]

A surprisingly lovely country-ish song that only just scraped into the Top 50. I remember it well from the radio back in the day but it seems to be more of a lost treasure these days.

I remember Way of the World, it's a classic. I also enjoyed Blue, thanks for posting.
No worries ChartGuru. Did you just discover "Blue" or did you rediscover it?
It sounds familiar but I can't say for sure that I've heard it before.
BATCH #2

"Cumbersome" by Seven Mary Three (1996) [#80 hit]

This post-grunge band were one-hit wonders here (and that's only if you consider a #80 peak a hit of course). They had a lot more success in their home country, America, however.

"All I Do" by Cleptomaniacs feat. Bryan Chambers (2001) [#98 hit]

Despite the dominance of trance music at the time, house music was still a force to be reckoned with. This groovy tune by an American DJ duo is a cover of an early '80s Stevie Wonder album track.

"Here" by Robertson Brothers (2003) [#64 hit]

This Aussie trio sang the Home and Away theme in the early 2000's but don't hold that against them. This YouTube video is of the Faraway remix which is far superior to the original version.

"Shake Your Head" by Was (Not Was) (1992) [#47 hit]

First released in 1983, this Steve "Silk" Hurley remix features "vocals" from Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Basinger. I could only find the extended mix on YT. Visit my site to hear the much better edit.

I can't be arsed doing the write-up's anymore. I knew I'd get sick of it pretty quick. hehe

I didn't think it would be on iTunes but it is! The whole CD single.

I bet it sounds arseloads better than the shitty-arsed YouTube audio which is especially horrid for that one.
