P!nk lands her sixth No.1 single in Australia by debuting at the top this week with “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, the first single from her sixth studio album ‘The Truth About Love’ which is due in mid September. And by gaining her sixth No.1 here she has achieved the same tally of No.1’s as Abba, Dean Martin, Roy Orbison and The Rolling Stones (1940 to 2012), and in the ARIA era (1983 to 2012), she sits seventh on the list of acts with the most No.1’s.

Most No.1’s during ARIA era:
1 – Madonna (11 No.1’s)
2 – Kylie Minogue (10)
3 = Delta Goodrem / Black Eyed Peas (8)
5 = Eminem / Rihanna (7)
7 – P!nk (6)
8 = George Michael / Britney Spears / Justin Timberlake / U2 / Guy Sebastian (5)

“Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” is the 64th No.1 for the RCA record label in Australia, the last being Kelly Clarkson’s “Mr. Know it All” (Oct 2011), and it’s the first time that the word ‘Blow’ has made it to No.1, but we have had ‘One Last Kiss’ at the top before, as Crash Craddock had that song title make it to the top for a single week in March of 1961. Also P!nk’s song becomes the 650th No.1 performed by an American artist, and “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” is the 994th No.1 in Australia (1940 to 2012), the 428th for ARIA (1983 to 2012) and the tenth No.1 for 2012.

Holding onto their No.2 spot from last week are fun with “Some Nights”, which is bound to go to the top when they are in the country in a couple of weeks. Rudimental and John Newman jump up three places to a new peak of No.3 with “Feel the Love”, and Katy Perry is “Wide Awake” for a third week at No.4. But jumping up nineteen places to No.5 is Justice Crew with their new track “Boom Boom”, which becomes their first ever Top 10 entry from four chart placements so far.

Flo Rida and Rudimental swap places this week, with the eight week running “Whistle” for Flo dropping three places to No.6. “This is Love” for Will.i.am and Eva Simons returns to its No.7 peak, swapping places with “Don’t Wake Me Up” for Chris Brown which is down a place to No.8. “Payphone” for Maroon 5 is down four spots to No.9 and down one to No.10 is “The Fighter” for Gym Class Heroes and Ryan Tedder.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen jump up four places to No.11 with “Good Time” as Carly’s “Call Me Maybe” finally leaves the Top 10 (to No.15 TW) after 16 weeks inside the top ten. “Tonight is the Night” by Outasight made it to No.20 in mid-May, but this week jumps back up the chart thirty-eight places to a new peak of No.18 thanks to it being used in the promos for Channel 10’s new reality-based series ‘The Shire’.

As Maroon 5 just announced their tour of Australia for October, their new single “One More Night” is also up thirty-eight places, this week it’s at No.21, and right behind at No.22 is the third single for Timomatic, “Can You Feel it”, up three places from last week debut position.

The third 38 place jump of the week is for Missy Higgins, who is at No.31 with “Everyone’s Waiting”, up from last weeks No.69 spot. Matchbox 20 is up six places to No.32 with “She’s So Mean”, and after falling a little last week, Train’s new track “50 Ways to Say Goodbye” is back up sixteen places to a new peak of No.33. And in a block of four new peaks in a row, No.34 see The Black Keys and “Gold on the Ceiling” rise up three places. Final new peak within the Top 50 goes to The Temper Trap and “Trembling Hands” up a couple of spots to No.45.

DOWN DOWN: Last weeks No.1 debut for Reece Mastin “Shout it out” falls out of the Top 10 to No.12, becoming the second track this year to spend only a week in the Top 10 and at No.1, with Karise Eden’s “Stay with Me Baby” being the other. And Karise’s only Top 100 entry this week is “You Won’t Let Me” (HP-5), which drops fifteen spots to No.42, whilst Delta’s “Sitting on Top of the World” is down eleven spots to No.43. We also say goodbye from the entire Top 100 for Sarah De Bono’s No.50 debut from last week “No Shame”.

Flo Rida debuts at No.44 with the track “Run” from his “Wild Ones” (TW-7) album featuring RedFoo from LMFAO as guest vocalist, and the song features an interpolation of the Bryan Adams 1985 single “Run to You”. Flo also places the song “In My Mind (Part 2)” featuring Georgi Kay into the Top 100 at No.74. With the title track from his album at No.56 plus his “Whistle” inside the Top 10, Flo has four songs within the Top 100 this week.

Lower 50: Cheryl (Cole) jumps up ten places to No.51 with her latest single “Call My Name”; Cher Lloyd and Astro hit a new peak of No.61 with “Want U Back”, and The Wanted climb three spots to a new peak of No.65 with “Chasing the Sun”.

Returning to the lower fifty are “Make it Bun Dem” for Skrillex at No.52; “Pursuit of Happiness” for Kid Cudi (HP-41, Feb 2010) in back at No.55; “Around My Way” by Lupe Fiasco at No.70, “Dedication to My Ex” for Lloyd and Andre 3000 at No.89; “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson at No.94 and “As Long as You Love Me” for Justin Bieber at No.97.

Florence + the Machine debut at No.57 with the “Spectrum (Say My Name)” EP; Elton John and Pnau enter at No.71 with the teamed-track “Good Morning to the Night”; Chiddy Bang feat Icona Pop are in at No.72 with “Mind Your Manners”. Returning to the Top 100 at No.88 is George Michael with his new track “White Light”, and the last new entry of the week comes in at No.93 for local indie group Loon Lake and their track “Cherry Lips”.

For a third week, The Voice winner Karise Eden holds onto the No.1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart with her “My Journey” album, but this coming week her three former grand finalists are all releasing their solo albums, so could Karise be in for some No.1 competition again from her former competitors, we will have to wait and see next week.

This week No.1 contender is the No.2 debut for Chris Brown with his fifth album entitled “Fortune”. It’s now his highest charting album here, beating the No.3 peak of his fourth album “F.A.M.E.” (HP-3, April 2011). “Fortune” also becomes his third Top 10 album as his second album “Exclusive” made it to No.5 in August 2008. For the record his first self-titled debut album made it to No.57 in February of 2006 and his third album “Graffiti” debuted and peaked at No.40 in December of 2009.

In the past Hillsong have been notorious for dropping out of the Top 10 after only one or two weeks in the chart, so with “Cornerstone” only down one place to No.3 it could be a good sign that the album might hang around and tie or beat their record of four weeks inside the Top 10 that the 2008 album “This is Our God” achieved.

Keith Urban’s “The Story So Far” is continuing to chart well, only down one place to No.4, and Katy Perry returns to the top five, up three places to No.5 with her re-packaged “Teenage Dreams” set, the album having not been this high since January 2011. One Direction’s X-Factor tie-in has kept their album “Up All Night” at No.6 this week, whilst Flo Rida drops down two spots to No.7 with his “Wild Ones” album.

“Living Things” for Linkin Park halves itself from last week, down four places to No.8, but Maroon 5’s “Overexposed” holds at No.9 thanks to the just announced tour, Adam Levine’s The Voice US appearances on our TV’s and their new bulleting single. Lastly Missy Higgins is back up one place and back into the top ten at No.10 with her “The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle” album thanks possibly to her new single jumping into the Top 40 this week.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: “Some Nights” for fun is the only new peaking album this week, it’s up nine places to No.11 thanks to their No.2 single of the same name, and their pending late July tour, and The Temper Trap’s self-titled album returns to the Top 20 at No.17. “Blunderbuss” for Jack White returns to the Top 50 at No.45, up fourteen places from last week, and halving itself from last week, up forty-nine places to No.49 is Adam Lambert’s “Trespassing” which benefits from his announced upcoming visit here.

The BBC’s ‘Sound of 2012’ poll placed New Orleans singer/songwriter (for Justin Bieber, Brandy and John Legend) Frank Orange second this year (behind Michael Kiwanuka), and his debut album “channel ORANGE” hits our chart at No.18 this week.

Sydney band Van She debut at No.28 with their second album entitled “Idea of Happiness”, whilst their first album “V” made it to No.10 upon debut in August 2008. And coming in at No.32 is the third album for Newton Faulkner entitled “Write it on Your Skin”. His first two albums “Hand Built by Robots” (March 2008) and “Rebuilt by Humans” (October 2009) both made it to No.5, the first took three weeks, the second debuted at that position.

DOWN DOWN: Offspring (the group) drop nine places to No.16 with “Days Go By”; “The Voice: Final 24” is down seven places to No.24; the “Rock of Ages” Soundtrack drops thirteen places to No.29; Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” tumbles twenty-one places to No.39 as her tour has now finished here. Lower down in the Top 100 sees Fiona Apple’s “The Idler Wheel…” down thirteen places to No.62; Rebecca Ferguson’s “Heaven” album falls twenty-three spots to No.63; “Music Rox!” for the Moshi Monsters drops thirty-fives places to No.73; Whitney’s “Ultimate Collection” dives twenty-nine places to No.76 and the biggest fall of the week comes from Periphery who’s “Periphery II” album drops fifty-four spots to just hang on at No.100.

Lower 50: Skrillex placed fourth in the above mentioned BBC Sounds of 2012 poll, and his “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” album is back up eleven places to No.57; Michael Crawford’s “The Story of My Life” collection rebound's thirty-four places to No.65; and Elton John’s “Rocket Man” best of jumps back up twenty-three places to No.69.

2009’s Triple J Unearthed competition winners Hunting Ground (formerly known as ‘Howl’) enter at No.52 with their debut album “In Hindsight”, and the only other new entry in the lower fifty is Serj Tankian with “Harakiri” at No.86, his third album, and third to chart here after “Elect the Dead” (HP-19 November 2007) and “Imperfect Harmonies” (HP-56, October 2010).

Regards,
Gavin Ryan.

For probably being only one of 3? (Wild Ones, Call Me Maybe) ? songs to have 15 weeks in the top 10 this year, Starships is dropping at a very appropriate rate.

POC had massive hype as it is sung by 2 massive artists.

Personally I find the song boring and a big let down.

It peaked much better than I would expect it to have. I am sure if it was sung by more average and not so well known or liked artists it wouldn't have even gone top 20.
I actually like POC unfortunately antlers.

It makes me feel dirty to like another Coldplay song, it really does!
this is awful.

I am loving all the drops with the older songs this week. I too hope to see Whislte fall some more.

I too am happy to see Outasight score a new peak (even though it's an older song). Be great if they can rise next week once again and score an even better peak.

I have to say I don't think it's fair that Pink wasn't allowed to chart last week all because her label wanted her to debut @ #1. I am glad this is falling on digital. I really hope its stint at the top (if it is #1) is short lived.
I thought this was the first time that a Hillsong album spent two weeks in the top 3, but it looks like they've done it before, only once though.

This top 3 is shaping up to be excellent, especially Fun!

Really wanted Hunting Grounds to crack the top 50 for the UE High crowd, maybe Stonefield or Snakadaktal could do it if they released full albums eventually!
