Current tourist’s fun. stay on top of the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week with their second No.1 “Some Nights”, but challenging for the lead this week are local dance troupe Justice Crew who jump up five places to No.2 with “Boom Boom”, another chart career high for the group who three weeks ago scored their first Top 10 entry with this single.

Holding onto No.3 for a third straight week are Rudimental with “Feel the Love”, and also holding steady at their peaks are Maroon 5 with “One More Night” at No.4 and “Good Time” for Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen at No.6, whilst in between those, we see P!nk’s “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” drop down three places to No.5.

Katy Perry is “Wide Awake” at No.7, down two places, and also down a couple of spots are Will.i.am and Eva Simons with “This is Love”, dropping to No.10 this week. The two new entries to the Top 10 are Justin Bieber’s “As Long as You Love Me”, up twenty-six places to No.8 to give him his second Top 10 single from his current album “Believe” (TW-2). And jumping up ten places to No.9 are Karmin with “Brokenhearted”, their first Top 10 hit here.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: B.o.B and Taylor Swift could both add another Top 10 entry to their tallies next week, as their current collaboration “Both of Us” is up three places to No.11. Florence + the Machine’s “Spectrum (Say My Name)” EP leaps up sixteen places to No.14, and returning to the Top 20 are “I’m All Yours” for Jay Sean (22 to 17) and “Turn All the Lights On” for T-Pain and Ne-Yo (25 to 18).
Matchbox 20 jump up nine places to a new peak of No.28 with “She’s So Mean”, after which all of the following are tracks that jump into the Top 50; “Chasing the Sun” for The Wanted has taken nine weeks to get this high, up thirty places to No.31 this week; Current tourist Ed Sheeran shoots up forty places to No.37 with his new track “Drunk”, but No Doubt leap more by moving up fifty places to No.41 with “Settle Down”. “Trembling Hands” for The Temper Trap returns to the Top 50 at No.42, up fifteen places from last week; “Mind Your Manners” for Chiddy Bang is up twenty places to No.44, and after last week scoring their first Top 100 entry, The xx leap up thirty-seven places to No.46 with their now first Top 50 entry “Angels”.

DOWN DOWN: Leaving the Top 10 this week are two songs who are spending their first week outside of the Top 10 ever, “Whistle” for Flo Rida (13 weeks in the ten), down to No.12 this week, with Chris Brown’s “Don’t Wake Me Up” (8 weeks in T10) down to No.13. Missy Higgins drops down five places to No.16 with “Everyone’s Waiting” and “Payphone” for Maroon 5 drops seven places to No.12.
“The Fighter” for the Gym Class Heroes is down ten places to No.13, “Can You Feel it” for Timomatic drops eleven spots to No.29, and Jason DeRulo is down thirteen places to No.40 with “Undefeated”. Last weeks big debut of “Get it Started” for Pitbull and Shakira is down sixteen places to No.47, and after a couple of weeks of being used in The Shire promo’s, “Tonight is the Night” for Outasight drops from No.20 to No.54 this week. “Last Time” for Labrinth which debuted at No.40 last week drops to No.72 this week, and another new entry from last week, “Crazy” for Ricki-Lee leaves the Top 100 from its No.52 debut spot.

The fourth Top 50 and fifth Top 100 entry for Far East Movement is the highest new entry of the week, coming in at No.32 is “Turn Up the Love” featuring Barbados based pop group Cover Drive as guests on the track. All three previous Top 50 entries have achieved Top 15 or higher in Australia, with their first single here “Like a G6” going all the way to No.2 (peaking November 2010).

Lower 50: Cher Lloyd climbs a few places to a new peak of No.60 with her latest single here “Want U Back”. Tyga is up eleven places to No.74 with “Rack City” and for a second week climbing three places to a new peak is Loon Lake with “Cherry Lips”, up to No.87 this week. Plus there are three returning tracks to the Top 100, “Lonely Boy” (HP-2) for The Black Keys are back in at No.76; Jay-Z and Kanye West with their “Ni**as in Paris” return at No.82 and back in at No.97 are Foster the People with “Pumped Up Kicks”.

Havana Brown is currently Top 40 in the US with her first single “We Run the Night”, and she debuts here with her third chart entry “When the Lights Go Out” coming in at No.64. At No.66 is British singer/songwriter Alex Clare with his former UK No.4 and German No.1 single “Too Close”, followed right behind at No.67 by The Killers and “Runaways”, the first track from their mid-September due fourth album “Battle Born”.

Conor Maynard debuts at No.75 with “Vegas Girl”, Ne-Yo returns as a solo act (not a guest vocalist) at No.81 with his dance infused “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)”, and local hip-hop act Illy teams up with Pez and debut at No.84 with the track “Where Ya Been”.

Karise Eden’s “My Journey” album stays on top of the ARIA Albums Chart for a fifth consecutive week, now equaling Damien Leith’s “The Winners Journey” (from 18-Dec-2006) five week stretch at the top for ‘Reality Show Winners (local) Longest No.1 Albums’. Guy Sebastian is still second with his four week run at the top with his debut set “Just as I Am” (from 15-Dec-03). And other than Adele’s nine weeks at the top this year with “21”, Karise now joins One Direction as the second longest running No.1 album this year, both having racked up five weeks apiece.

Justin Bieber’s recent promo tour helps his “Believe” album to climb back up two places to No.2, swapping places with last weeks No.2 debut “Broken Brights” for Angus Stone, now down to No.4, but wedged in between and holding steady at No.3 is Darren Percival’s “Happy Home”.

After two weeks at No.11, fun jump up six places to land at No.5 with their album “Some Nights”, whilst also up is Missy Higgins, whose “The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle” climbs four places to No.6. One Direction climbs two places to No.7 with “Up All Night”, “Teenage Dream” for Katy Perry drops two spots to No.8, Maroon 5 return to the Top 10 at No.9 with “Overexposed” (up three places), and Keith Urban’s “The Story So Far” drops two places to No.10, giving us half of the Top 10 with Australian artists.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: With his tour upon us, Ed Sheeran climbs a little this week, up five places to No.13 with “+”, but expect it to jump back into the Top 10 next week. Jack White toured Australia last week, and that helps his “Blunderbuss” (HP-2) album back up eleven places to No.34. Nickelback tickets are on sale now, and their “Here and Now” album is back up ten places to No.36. The Bee Gees return to the Top 50 at No.42 (up from 77) with “Live – One Night Only”, and with the stage show opening in Brisbane recently, the ‘Jersey Boys’ cast recording returns to the Top 100 at No.49 this week.

DOWN DOWN: Of the four Top 10 Aussie debuting acts last week, two don’t survive this week, as Rachael Leahcar is down six places to No.11 and Sarah De Bono drops thirteen places to No.20, both with their debut albums. Chris Brown’s “Fortune” drops six places to No.21 this week, as too does Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones”, down to No.23. “Cornerstone” for Hillsong Live is down nine places to No.28, and after debuting at No.27 last week, Nas drops thirteen places to No.40 with “Life is Good”.
House vs. Hurricane drop twenty-seven places to No.47 with “Crooked Teeth”; Hellyeah is down nineteen spots to No.51 with their third album “Band of Brothers”, and Icehouse returned with three albums last week, two of which drop out of the Top 100, the only one surviving this week is “Man of Colours”, down twenty-two places to No.52.

US band Passion Pit score the highest new entry of the week with their second album entitled “Gossamer”, coming in at No.12. Their first album “Manners” debuted and peaked at No.19 in May 2009, with Australia being its highest charting country. And another US band debut at No.14, The Gaslight Anthem and their fourth album “Handwritten”. This is their second chart entry here, as their third album “American Slang” made it to No.67 in July of 2010, making this new album their best chart effort here so far. And after four studio albums, US heavy metal band Slipknot release their first best of set entitled “Antennas to Hell”, which comes in at No.16, giving all five of their releases here a Top 40 peak or higher.

The third Christopher Nolan Batman film entitled “The Dark Knight Rises” sees its soundtrack debut at No.19 this week. Below is a look at the previous six Batman soundtracks and how well they performed in Australia…

It sounds like it could be The xx - Angels and I will be thoroughly disappointed if it isn't, particularly as that Pitbull song is somehow still in.
