http://itunescharts.net iTunesCharts.net is an archive of the daily top 100s from the iTunes of several countries, including Australia. While it has not been operating for a lengthy amount of time, it's still a nice site worth checking and a useful archive. It now features individual pages for all charters, which is helpful for finding peaks.
http://livepopbars.com LivePopBars is a website which displays the popularity bars for iTunes charts of many countries including Australia and is useful for those who don't have iTunes and seek pop bars. iTunes have recently stopped providing detailed pop bars so rounded up numbers at best are used on LPB. Also contains the top 1000 which is no longer available on the iTunes RSS feed.
http://kworb.net/popau Kworb is an alternate website to LivePopBars which also provides pop bars but with more detailed numbers than the aformentioned.

Scream & Shout would be the outright worst #1 of 2012 if it makes it there.
Thankfully right now it's not even getting half the sales of "Thrift Shop", also taking into account Macklemore having three versions of Thrift Shop at #1, 53 & 72.
Pissed off that "Scream & Shout" overtook "Little Talks".

Not impressed with this latest #1. First Samantha Jade and now this. Are people deaf? Both these songs are brutal. Next we'll see Justin and Minaj at #1. Wouldn't surprise me looking at the trash that has gotten there of late.
8. Justice Crew - Best Night 10. Labrinth - Beneath Your Beautiful (feat. Emeli Sandé) 14. Rudimental - Not Giving In (feat. John Newman & Alex Clare) 22. Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man 24. I suppose Psy's video sales weren't counted into the mix
Generally though, these iTunes lists cut off a couple of weeks before they're posted, so older songs take more precedence. I think I recall "Hey, Soul Sister" topping the 2010 list.
In regards to the iTunes' list of best selling singles of 2012. The US list was determined on sales between January 1st and December 3rd. I suppose it must have been the same in Australia.
61. Dropkick Murphys - The Season's Upon Us 73. Flo Rida - Let It Roll, Pt. 2 (feat. Lil Wayne) 75. Of Monsters and Men - Mountain Sound 90. Titanium - I Won't Give Up 92. Skrillex & Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley - Make It Bun Dem (why is this rising again? ) 94. Pez - The Game
What does a song need to do to have its video available on Itunes?
Taylor Swift, Swedish House Mafia, Florence + The Machine and Gym Class Heroes/Ryan Tedder are some of the big ones of 2012 missing and I've seen all of these songs have a video clip.
27. Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You 42. Dropkick Murphys - The Season's Upon Us 58. Wham! - Last Christmas 61. Fozzey & Van C - Perfect Couple, Pt. 2 65. It's noteworthy that Thrift Shop has climbed back to 97% meaning that if it were a normal week, it'd probably be a lock for another week at #1. However it's Christmas tomorrow so whatever wacked out chart we get tomorrow will decide it. Impossible to pick which of the two songs will benefit most. Gangnam Style (now up to #5) is the dark horsey
Lols @ everyone thinking regular teenagers buy songs on iTunes. Though I don't illegally download music it's only because I can see what it could potentially do to the music industry. Legal buyers are 12 or younger or 30+. I don't even buy singles only albums.
Quite likely that they could've just downloaded iTunes today too K8. In fact if you check out Google trends, search queries for 'itunes download' double on Christmas. Also they may have received iTunes vouchers too

I am rather impressed how high I Love It has got, its got several versions below the top 100 as well. I'd love it to reach #1 but realistically I think #3 will be its peak (unless it can keep growing).
S&S seems to be struggling to reach the top again, Thrift Shop could have another few weeks at #1 at this rate. May be Lumineers could be a contender though that doesn't scream #1 IMO. Nothing climbing ATM screams #1 right now but things will probably change in the coming weeks.
I think Home by Phillip Phillips could end up being very big and Skylar Grey/Eminem track could do big things IMO once airplay starts.
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Will.I.am did go to #1, I actually thought they would have been back at #1 by now. The next few weeks could be interesting
@K8: I agree, but the general public has already bought so much of Thrift Shop that i don't see much of a gain from it. I think the next Aria #1 will be I Love It, Ho Hey or Same Love
Hello everyone! I'm back! It's Brandon, bitch. My name is now Fernando. FUCKIN RELIEF! at last! WILL.I.AM and BRITNEY bitch! is back at #1. Spears fans have been waiting a long time, at least 8 years for another Aria chart topper. If "Scream and Shout" does peak at #1, it will be her first #1 since "Toxic" from 2004. Hurry please keep buying the song and lets see Britney at #1 on the Aria Charts again. It's been nearly 9 long years people. So good to see Thrift Shit Shop at#2, such an annoying song and confusing storyline.
It looks like Thrift Shop and Scream & Shout will do a Gotye/Maroon 5, with Thrift Shop staying at #1, and leaving Scream & Shout to have a lengthy stay #2. This should continue for about 2 weels. I think I Love It may be our next #1, because they are in the country doing a couple of festivals, and also JJJ's Hottest 100 is soon.

Just saw the 30 second preview of the new One Direction song and it reminds me of the Brady Bunch.
Just when you thought these blokes couldn't get any more gayer.
I guess we'll know what will be our next #1 single as girls will buy the video in droves as the dudes are in their boardies only. Oh and sailor uniforms too. Did I say gay?

I have my fingers crossed that Phillip Phillips can crack our Top 100. Maybe when American Idol arrives it might get a boost somehow.
And fingers crossed James Arthur gets to chart here as well. It would be the first time a UK winner would get their winner's song charting in our chart I believe.

Same, I think Just Give Me A Reason is the best out of all of her singles from The Truth About Love. I hate Ne-Yo as well, don't know why he is so popular because his voice is really annoying and horrible.
17. P!nk - Just GIve Me A Reason 27. Bingo Players Ft. Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) 29. Hermitude - Hyperparadise (Flume Remix) 36. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Ft. Fences - Otherside 38. Justin Bieber - Nothing Like Us 43. The Lonely Island Ft. Kendrick Lamar & Adam Levine - Yolo
What is the song I'm hearing on the radio that they promote as "new music" and it sounds like the Vengaboys "We Like To Party" beat with possibly a Pitbull artist sound?
3. James Arthur - Impossible (keep going !) 15. Bingo Players Ft Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) 24. The Lonely Island Ft Kendrick Lamar & Adam Levine - Yolo 37+75. Also will Justin Bieber's acoustic album sales be combined with his normal album sales or will it be charted as a separate album on the ARIA Charts?

Also, last time I checked Somebody That I Used To Know was number 3 on the music video chart
They don't sell very well for obvious reasons (why spend a few dollars on a video in 360p when you can download the HD video off YouTube for free?), but they do make a difference. "Kiss You" debuted at #21 on digital tracks the week it entered at #13 on the main chart, for example, so video sales helped it advance that much higher.
4 Stay - Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko 11 I Could Be The One - Avicii & Nicky Romero 15 We Come Running - Youngblood Hawke 21 + 96 Harlem Shake - Baauer 23 Mirrors - Justin Timberlake 37 It's Time - Imagine Dragons 42 Do Or Die - Flux Pavilion featuring Childish Gambino 43 22 - Taylor Swift 100 White Noise - Disclosure featuring AlunaGeorge
P!nk has dethroned One Direction on the music video chart with Just Give Me A Reason. I thought it would take forever for someone to do that.
12 + 75 Harlem Shake - Baauer 38 22 - Taylor Swift 39 Do Or Die - Flux Pavilion featuring Childish Gambino 44 Titanium - David Guetta featuring Sia (Why has this been in the iTunes top 50 during the last few weeks) 54 Can't Hold Us - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton 59 Feel This Moment - Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera
While I like Harlem Shake I'd much rather P!nk be at number one but it looks like Harlem Shake will be the 1000th number one. I really wish Saved In A Bottle would rise much faster, I think it's a really good dance track and my 2nd favourite song from them.
16 Feel This Moment - Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera 23 22 - Taylor Swift 31 Diamonds - Rihanna 40 Can't Hold Us - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton 52 Girl On Fire (Inferno Version) - Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj 100 Saved In A Bottle - The Potbelleez
I'm glad to see The Potbelleez slowly rising up the charts but I'm hoping they can crack the top 50 in the next few days because I don't want this awesome song to flop.
Is Australia serious with the current iTunes #1. 33 seconds is enough for me, and that's with visuals. Remove the visuals and its just a load of crap. It reminds me of that terrible Flat Beat.
Not really, apparently you just have to film yourself thrusting around like you're having a violent seizure and you're doing the "Harlem Shake". Also, it helps if you're dressed stupidly or barely.
Harlem Shake at #1. WHY must teeny boppers like music only because it has a novelty "dance movie" to it. PSY ill accept as a Australia wide fad, but Harlem Shake is just ridiculous/
Well One Direction sure are taking their time if they want to be number one. I'm hoping P!nk can get back to where she belongs on the iTunes chart, it's annoying seeing her at number 3 below Harlem Shake and One Direction. I've noticed that the iTunes chart has been really boring today, hardly anything has moved up or down. I guess the good thing about that is that it makes predictions much easier though
Also: 86 Saved In A Bottle - The Potbelleez
I really wish this would rise much higher because it's a really good dance track and my 2nd favourite song from them. Hopefully it can make top 50 in a few more days.

Lissie's cover of 'Go Your Own Way' is all over that new token Valentine's day trash movie Safe Haven.
Speaking of trash, I find it absolutely mortifying at the thought of this out-of-nowhere Harlem Shake thing trouncing in and stealing #1 from P!nk and more than likely becoming our 1000th number 1 in the process. And don't even go there with One Direction, it is for charity though...
And on a complete side note, I hope people start recognising Gabrielle Aplin's 'Please Don't Say You Love Me'. Potential hit written all over it!

I was wondering the same about Right Now. It's not like Stay has flopped so why would she need to release a new single. I'm so glad Saved In A Bottle is rising, hope it can crack the top 50 in the next few days.
Also, why have the charts been so stable over the past few days, hardly anything has changed in the past 24 hours. Last edited:
Not when you consider the fact that not long ago they had a Macklewis song from several years back on there, which subsequently sold enough to chart in the top 50 but was denied
On that note, "Can't Hold Us" likely will make the top 50 next week because it is also on NSTW Last edited:
Right Now has been at radio for longer than Stay, and Nova 100 in Melbourne plays it repeatedly. Maybe stations now are going with it instead of Stay cuz it's your typical Rihanna dance track. Who knows lol.
Hey Porsche can be a future #1. Love it. Last edited:

Aww come on Hijinx, I want to see you go on an idiotic & disrepectful tirade. Might educate me on who the hell Atoms For Peace are/is. I assume they are a 'JJJ artist'.
But the tirade would have nothing to do with them. My comment was merely expressing my disgust for the idiotic crap that I see every year or so. And they're American/British and therefore couldn't possibly be a JJJ artist.
In any case, the chart has shifted a lot since my comment, now they're back to #4 behind Spit Syndicate, now THAT's a JJJ artist Last edited:

There is a God! Having P!nk back at #1 and hopefully staying put would be great! (Although the embarassing damage is done having Harlem Shit as our 1000th #1)
And yay that Small Bump is getting a run here locally! I nearly choked on my sultana bran when I saw it at #17 on V's Music Video Chart on Saturday!
107. Olly Murs - Army of Two 131. Emeli Sandé - Clown 190. Hillsong United - Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) (This isn't even a single, why is it charting?) 218. Mikky Ekko - Pull Me Down
P!nk has now extended her lead to over 12% now, and rising. Beneath Your Beautiful is just 3% away from #2.

Quite possibly. Although I suspect that it will be the EP that is charting, which brings the awkward case where the 2nd most popular song is what pushed it over the line to chart, but at least then I can say that "Hurricane" charted

I'm so happy that Harlem Shake is at number 3 now .I really hope Bed Of Clouds & Saved In A Bottle can rise further, would like to see them both hit top ten
I really hope Demi does stay round for a while, it's good to see someone from Disney besides Miley Cyrus making some sort of dent on the charts. And Demi is far superior to Miley.
Demi's voice is a little too annoying for me lol Nice to see P!nk back atop, and Jessica now at #56. Hopefully next week she'll be in the top 20 or Sony will deny Charting her as per usual.

First that disgusting flop of a Neon Trees songs becomes popular like a year after it first charted, now this horrible Jason Mraz song -_-. I hope it doesnt get to #1. Id much prefer Harlem Shake.
#20 - Radioactive - Rita Ora (Highest position?) #30 - Big Banana - Havana Brown (Slowly rising)
I think that the next number one will either be Can't Hold Us, Beneath Your Beuatiful or I Won't Give Up. I'd love to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis get a third number one on ARIA, the last artist to have three number one singles from the one album was The Black Eyed Peas in 2009 wasn't it?
That is correct, and before that was Britney Spears in 2003, and before that was Kylie in 1988. Delta Goodrem holds the record with 5 #1s from Iinnocent Eyes in 2002-3
If Macklemore goes to #01 it shows how poor the albums charts are. That an album can harbour three #01 singles and not only get to #01 but sell a bucket load.

It's such a shame that songs like Neon Trees and Jason Mraz need TV exposure to break into the Aussie charts.
Even Icona Pop and Labrinth needed the extra TV ad exposure to make them bigger hits.
Gone are the days that music is about music. It's now about TV exposure and Internet crazes or the artist is extremely popular like P!nk.
Thrift Shop was at least a worthy #1 and will go down as a memorable and classic hit in years to come. Not too many recent #1s can that be said for. If a #1 hit can't rank in the top 20 year end like quite a few from last year they should never have been #1 hits. They don't deserve that honour imo.
Good to see Jason Mraz won't be considered a one hit wonder in Oz even if its taken him over a year to crack our charts.

Is there a reason why many songs sales percentages have been dropping on iTunes. On Kworb it says 9 & 10, 26-31 & 59-100 sales percentages have all dropped but there are none that have risen.
Also this is kinda irrelevant but why is there a second Bed Of Clouds that is listed as being by wift K.I.D feat. Guy Sebastian. Last edited:
Try refreshing because I'm not seeing the same update?
Otherwise such a situation would just suggest that the rest of the chart which have neither dropped nor risen would be selling at the same rate relative to P!nk as before, while the dropping songs have naturally slipped. I don't know if kworb has enough information to totally confirm whether overall sales have risen or dropped, so it's possibly just a guess!
Yeah I think the 'Now' column can be taken with a grain of salt as it can fluctuate a bit, and it says just above that the 2nd column has the 'most recent OK values'. That being said, 'Now' tends to match up the positions with whatever iTunes will be showing, just that the numbers can be fishy.
Has anyone noticed the iTunes Australia 'chart' on this website is completely different from the actual charts on iTunes?? Check the charts on this site (australiancharts.com) and then on this one: http://www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10songs.html. (BTW Australia is top right in the world charts)
That link isn't working for me, but the obvious answer is that iTunes updates basically every 10 minutes where the chart is only updated once a week, so they start to differ
But that's the thing, I listened to the Nova 91.9 Fresh 40 Top 10 countdown on Saturday and australiancharts.com was updated Sunday evening (Monday morning for me) and the charts (from what I heard) were very much similar to what they are now (on iTunes) !!
What I mean to say is that Saturday's iTunes Charts were similar to that of today (Tuesday's) but this website's Sunday/Monday chart updates are completely different!!
1. That link excludes any songs with the 'Explicit' tag. So Rihanna's "Stay" is completely missing there. 2. The chart on this site is the ARIA chart which is composed of sales from Friday to Thursday, (eg, this latest chart would be sales from March 8th to March 14th). This also includes several retailers apart from iTunes. 3. iTunes' chart is roughly based on purchases from the last 24 hours, so if you observe a song's progress on iTunes for the whole week, you'll know roughly how it will line up for the ARIA chart.
Well, I'll be using this from now often! Just a question, why do Rihanna's "Stay" and "Right Now" carry an explicit tag ?? I looked up the explicit versions and there wasn't even a 'damn' (or any other swear word) once in either song (?)
Perhaps someone more in the know about the album would be able to shed light, but it looks like iTunes just have the Explicit tag on every single song on Rihanna's album, except Diamonds.
Some songs are impossible to get the radio/super clean versions of...
eg. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) will.i.am - Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears) Ludacris - Rest of My Life (feat. Usher & David Guetta)
Also, there are no radio/super clean versions of:
Laurent Wery - Hey Hey Hey (Pop Another Bottle) [feat. Swift K.I.D & Dev] Gym Class Heroes
I prefer clean music, so I usually make my own clean versions using Audacity
Is that the one from The Heist clean album? Not 100% clean, with a not very subtle 'PISSSSSS' halfway through! Call me obsessive but the one on radio is yet cleaner
Yes iTunes, actual songs and radio songs all have different standards! As a result radio has the best Which means if your standards are high its probably up to yourself
The radio stations must own clean versions but they seldom publish them!! However I take my hat off to Nova for the clean versions provided in Nova Hits, Vol. 1, 2 & 3!!
Rihanna's album has some pretty dirty songs but I found it weird as well. Every song is labelled explicit, despite maybe four or five having lyrics that can be deemed as offensive
It's the same as Nicki Minaj's 'Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded' which had every song labelled 'explicit' when not all of them were. I don't really know how the ratings work but it might have something to do with the album as a whole.
You're probably right, Alex Diamonds is the only song in the standard edition not labelled explicit! Maybe this is why Right Now and Stay haven't climbed the charts quicker ??
I love/am glad that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have had 3 #1 singles, and from an independent record label too (named after Macklemore himself), but I really 'detest' Same Love Last edited:
Bingo Players & Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) is #05 on the video chart. If you haven't watched the video i would recommend it's entertaining. I actually like the song.

Mark my words, Titanium is going to re-enter the Top 40.
42. Titanium (I honestly just want this songs run to go as far as it can so im pretty glad about this ) 43. Sweet Spot 47. Guns & Roses 79. Gone, Gone, Gone 100. Still Into You

There was no good songs left on Wild Ones after the first 3 singles. That album needs to stop flipping out singles before theres no more to flip out. There's only 10 tracks on it. Sweet Spot has to be the worst song on there apart from Run. Hopefully it will quickly chart then die harder than a Delta Goodrem single like Let It Roll did.
