Hi gang, well it's another year which means we get a new thread to kick off 2013.
Ok there are some new major changes to my chart as of this week being the first week of 2013.
For starters I have abolished the ARIA rules of my chart which in theory means that I am not constricted to charting a minimum of 25 tracks from the ARIA chart in my personal. I still will how use ARIA as a vague guide in deciding where a song should chart if uncertain, however this does not constrict me to the old 10 place rule. (i.e if a song was previously charting at #11 on ARIA and appeared on my personal chart it could only chart between positions #1 - #21).
I have also decided to abolish the dreaded Retirement rules of my chart that many of you have disliked, the reason is that i'm now liking songs a lot more later than usual and it pisses me off that songs are now charting a lot higher later in their ARIA chart runs (i.e Icona Pop - I Love It).
The following CHART rules are applicable from 6th January 2013.
* 2013 EOY CHART PERIOD is 4th November 2012 - Final Chart Of 2013. * Songs that have already spent a maximum of 10 weeks on the first chart of 2013 are not eligible for the 2013 EOY CHART.
POINTS SYSTEM FOR 2013 EOY CHART
#1 = 75 points (+10 points for every week at #1) #75 = 1 point
A Re-entry will carry an extra 10 Points 1 point will be given to every playcount
Added to this will be the number of actual chart weeks on both my personal & ARIA chart.
Added to this is the songs PEAK worth (i.e #75 = 1 point / #1 = 75 points)
Added to this is the songs ARIA PEAK worth (i.e #100 = 1 point / #1 = 100 points)
75 - 01 - 75 JUSTIN BIEBER feat BIG SEAN - As Long As You Love Me 74 - 01 - 74 ED SHEERAN - Drunk 71 - 18 - 17 MARILYN MANSON - Slo-Motion 69 - 02 - 62 RIHANNA feat DAVID GUETTA - Right Now 68 - 01 - 68 MAROON 5 - Daylight

Nice jumps for The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, Birds of Tokyo, The Killers, Macklemore, Metric, Matchbox Twenty, The Gaslight Anthem and OM&M. I like the new rules will be interesting to see them in action.
Wow what a run at the top for Lana. I never really disliked the retirement rule but perhaps it gives songs with longevity more of a chance to prove itself. Cool rises for MB20, Gaslight Anthem, BOT, Local Natives, Ed, Lumineers, The Killers, Metric and Macklemore. Also I must acknowledge how much I enjoy Praying For Sunshine. And YET AGAIN!!!
I was actually half expecting a completely different chart with the new rules, but I suppose it's easier to follow if it's a smooth transition. Great rises for Atoms For Peace, Metric, The Killers, The Gaslight Anthem & Of Monsters and Men. lol I can't even remember how that Orbital thing went, but good for Yet Again.

Far awesome run at #1 for Lana! woo! Nice rises for Give Me Love, Black Heart, Mountain Sound and Flower. Yay for Mumford & Sons being the first song to benefit from the no retirement rule! Great track!
Great to see Ho Hey and Give Me Love doing quite nicely in the top ten. Also good jumps for Metric, The Killers, The Gaslight Anthem, Of Monsters And Men and Same Love.
Normally I would be extremely happy about Lana at #1, but i find Paradise extremely boring. BTD was amazing though. Nice to see The Lumineers, MB20, Labrinth & Emeli, Xtina, Ellie, Florence, Icona Pop, LM, Macklemore, Solange, Loreen, Rita & Ricki-Lee. Wish Green Day could've stayed in though.
Well I have to note Ride as an early EOY contender, unless the new rules mean that something else could spend half a year at #1, who knows?! Great to see Atoms for Peace in the top 10, Metric & Gaslight rising strongly, and Solange debuting.
Wow, Lana Del Rey is still riding on top. Good to see Ed Sheeran, Liars (weird video clip for that track), The Lumineers, Birds of Tokyo, Jack White, Matchbox Twenty, Ellie Goulding, The Killers, Labrinth & Emeli Sande, Bruno Mars, Bon Jovi, Icona Pop, Of Monsters & Men, Swedish House Mafia, Muse, Coldplay, Macklemore, Kanye, Guy Sebastian, Led Zeppelin, The Rubens, RHCP, Linkin Park, Orbital, Mumford & Sons, Owl City, A$AP Rocky, and Beach House.
Wow 8 weeks Nice jumps for Stooshe, Metric, The Killers, Bon Jovi, The Gaslight Anthem, Grizzly Bear, Solange & Macklemore. Great debuts for A$AP Rocky lol and especially Beach House

Grinners! Excellent to see Battleground in. The Temper Trap and Delphic entries are cool too. Keep going Local Natives and Metric!! And Grizzly Bear! But lol Lana can't be stopped.
Awesome to see Baiya debut! Nice to see Ed Sheeran, Miss Atomic Bomb, Matchbox 20, Bruno Mars, Of Monsters And Men, Sam And The Womp, Coldplay and of course, SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA! I didn't realise it reached #1 for you, great to see that it will most likely reach 20 weeks and retire
That is Lana Del Ridiculous! On the other hand, good moves for Metric, The Killers, Bon Jovi, The Gaslight Anthem, Grizzly Bear, Solange, Something For Kate, A$AP Rocky & Beach House! Great debuts for Jake Bugg, The Temper Trap & especially Delphic.
Nice rise for Black Heart and Losing You and wow for Ride still being on top! I thought I really liked that song but wow for it's staying power for you. Nice to see Don't Rush debut as well.
Ride is just slaying your chart at the moment, which is nice, Cool rises aswell for Metric, The Killers, The Rubens, Macklemore & Mumfords, Good debuts for Jake Bugg & The Temper Trap, wow at that Blood Orange song only charting now, I first heard that in late 2011
Still Riding! I Like Ride, Speed The Collapse, Brats (strange film clip tbh ), Miss Atomic Bomb, Give Me Love, Ho Hey, Every Road Leads Home To You, Yet Again, Ronan, I'm Shakin', This Fire, Put Your Hands Up, Mountain Sound, Panic Station, The Best We Got, Same Love, Anything Could Happen, Beneath Your Beautiful, Locked Out Of Heaven, I Love It, Little Talks, Madness, Wonky, Fuckin' Problems, Lazuli, Don't You Wprry Child, Clique, Hurts Like Heaven, Battle Scars, Kashmir, Shooting Star, I Will Wait, Clair de lune, and Swimming Pools (Drank).
Memory is escaping me but I think Bon Jovi got to 10 weeks at #1 a couple years ago, could Lana surpass it? Alternatively, with that awesome bullet could Metric get it? I hope so! Great jumps too for The Killers, The Gaslight Anthem, Grizzly Bear, Solange, Of Monsters and Men, Macklemore, A$AP Rocky & Beach House Very cool debuts too!
All three entries are awesome of course. Lana is in complete control, but go Local Natives!!! Breakers is such a great track. Good to see Delphic, Grizzly Bear, Grinners!!!!, Rubens and Temper Trap up.

It has been a while since I have commented on your chart (first time this year ), but I am super pleased to see Lana having a solid stint on top.
Nice to see The Killers, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Birds OF Tokyo, Macklemore, Ellie Goulding, Labrinth / Emeli, Icona Pop, Of Monsters And Men, SHM and Coldplay in your chart
Whew I was starting to think that Ride might beat Pearl Jam's #1 record!! Great run nonetheless. Nice rises for Losing You, Mountain Sound, Panic Station, Don't Rush (wow that's a big jump), Flower, Lover Of The Light and I Know Him So Well (I haven't heard this version yet but I love the song full stop so it's hard to imagine them destroying it). Great to see Wicked Games debut as well.
Metric at #1 on someone else's chart? I don't think I've ever seen that before but awesome Great to see The Gaslight Anthem jump into the top 10 and Grizzly Bear not far behind. I feel like I could have gotten into the latter more at the time, particularly considering how similar my current #1 is, but what happens, happens! Good movement also for Solange, Of Monsters and Men, Muse, Something For Kate, A$AP Rocky, The Temper Trap, Delphic, Flight Facilities & Kendrick Lamar. Strong debuts all round too
Awesome to see Clair de Lune in your chart! I just realised you abolished your retirement rule I didn't mind it. Go Swedish House Mafia for 20 weeks! Great to see Of Monters And Men, Delphic, Loreen, Matchbox Twenty, Birds of Tokyo, The Killers, The Lumineers and Ed Sheeran. No Lanterns?

Wow for Solange jumping in to the top ten! Good stuff! Great to see Mountain Sound, Panic Station, Don't Rush, Lover Of The Light, Swimming Pools and Wicked Game moving up. Nice to see Stay, Figure 8 and Clown debut. I can't quite remember Moonshine but I have a feeling I didn't like it

Great to see Solange moving up! I didn't expect to see her so high!! Nice jump for Mountain Sound, Panic Station, Don't Rush, Lover Of The Light, Stay and Figure 8. Cool to see Just Give Me a Reason debut (hope it can move up) and Now.
Nice to see Metric still on top and The Rubens and OM&M into the top ten. Good jumps for Muse, Delphic, Jake Bugg and The Temper Trap. Happy to see Pink/Nate and Youngblood Hawke enter.
I like Speed The Collapse, Ride, The Best We Got, Don't Rush, Mountain Sound, Panic Station, Yet Again, Lover Of The Light, Default, Overjoyed, Give Me Love, Ho Hey, Stay, We Come Running, Swimming Pools (Drank), I'm Shakin', This Fire, Clair de lune, Moonshine (I hope this or Young Girls is his next released single from UJ), On Top, Put Your Hands Up, Figure 8, Wicked Games, Bassline Junkie , Fuckin' Problems, Just Give Me A Reason, Clown, Same Love, Everything You Wanted, Anything Could Happen, Global Concepts, Lazuli, Why Am I The One, Locked Out Of Heaven, It’s A Beautiful Day, and Beneath Your Beautiful!
Shame to see Speed The Collapse drop but Losing You is quite good too! Good jumps for Jake Bugg, Delphic, The Temper Trap, Youngblood Hawke, Kendrick Lamar, MS MR, Flight Facilities and Paramore.
Whoa, despite the fast rise, I was not expecting to see Solange at #1. Awesome stuff. I can't believe how well Ride is doing for you as well, 10 weeks at #1 and still in the top five. Elsewhere, nice rises for Don't Rush, Lover Of The Light, We Come running and Just Give Me a Reason, and awesome to see Just A Fool and Why Am I The One debut.
Interesting change at the top. Excellent to see Branded enter, cool rises for Kendrick Lamar and Paramore. Shame to lose Battleground but I'm so happy about it charting for you
Surprising to see Rita Ora bullet into the top three on her 15th week. Nice debut for JT & JZ, as well as rises for Rihann, Youngblood Hawke, Pink / Nate and fun.
Great debuts for Justin, San Cisco and Foals. Nice jumps for Jake Bugg, Delphic, Youngblood Hawke, The Temper Trap, Matchbox Twenty, Loony, Pink/Nate and Fun.
The CDs arrived today (well yesterday technically but eh )
Cool to see Solange still holding #1. Rita Ora is threatening but I'd be surprised to see a song hit #1 that late in its run. Nice moves for Mumford & Sons, Jake Bugg, Delphic, The Temper Trap, Youngblood Hawke, MS MR, Flight Facilities, Bruno, Flume, The Weeknd, Paramore, Fun., too many to mention like always Cool debuts for San Cisco & Foals, sadly I haven't been able to get into that Hungry Kids one.
Very surprised to see KC up so high! It's such a breezy track that it honestly didn't do very much for me but I'm glad that some people are enjoying it! Nice rises for Lover Of The Light, We Come running, Figure 8, Wicked Games, Just Give Me a Reason, Clown and Now.
Cool to see the entries for The Lumineers and Train and nice jumps for The Rubens, Matchbox Twenty, Delphic, Youngblood Hawke, Loony, Justin Timberlake, Pink/Nate, Fun, Buble and Foals.
Wow I didn't think it would happen but AWESOME to see Kelly at #1. Not my favourite track from her, but like I said before, it's nice to see it getting some love! Cool rises for Stay, We Come Running, Figure 8, Just Give Me A Reason, Now, Why Am I The One and Just a Fool. Good to see Stubborn Love debut as well. Random point - have you noticed that a lot of your songs jump up nine places. Just a random thing I noticed haha. Although it might just be most of the ones I mentioned.
Love seeing the big moves for Delphic, Youngblood Hawke, Flight Facilities, MS MR, Bruno, Fun. & Foals. I think Bowie's is my favourite debut for the week.

Now I feel ignorant, I don't know any of the top two, nor any of the debuts. I also didn't know that Paul Banks ever released any material under his own name, weird
Anyhow those are some lovely rises for Delphic, Youngblood Hawke, Flight Facilities, MS MR, Paramore & Foals.
Wow the women are taking over your chart! Cool to see!!! Great rises for Youngblood Hawke, Pink ft Nate Ruess, Paramore, Emeli SAnde, Fun., Xtina/Blake Shelton and Train and cool to see Girls Aloud debut.
Real surprise #1 but I love it! Nice to see MB20 hit the top 10, and rises for MS MR, Flight Facilities, Paramore & Foals. As much as I love Supremacy, crazily enough it's only my 3rd favourite debut; love the Cloud Nothings & British India entries Last edited:
Sad to lose CC and Kendrick, but British India and Muse! Excellent jump to the top for Delphic and good to see Dizzee and Fun. continue to move up. Shame that Jack White will probably be out next week, but what a run he had!
Nice to see Youngblood Hawke, Paramore, Ellie Goulding, Fun., Xtina/Blake Shelton, and Girls aloud move up. Sad to see Bieber out but he had a good run, and now he as a person is irritating me again.

Great to see Don't Rush, Moonshine, The Best We Got, Overjoyed, We Come Running, Lover Of The Light, Because We Can, Clair de lune, Supremacy, Bassline Junkie , Stay, Ride, Figure 8, Global Concepts, Speed The Collapse, Why Am I The One, Yet Again, Stubborn Love, It's A Beautiful Day, Mountain Sound, Fred Astaire, Panic Station, Suit & Tie, Clown, Miss Atomic Bomb, Summer Forgive Me, Just Give Me A Reason, Different, Wasted Days, Wicked Games, On Top, Temper Temper, Default, Give Me Love, The Phoenix, Up In The Air, and Miracle.
Nice to see Delphic holding #1 and that's a great jump into the top 5 for MS MR! Nice rises otherwise for Muse, Paramore, Foals, Fun., British India & Cloud Nothings. Good week for rock bands in the debuts it seems, most happy for The Killers, FOB & The Temper Trap in this case.
Hmm this random Bruno Mars song is now in the top ten!! I will need to remember to check it out again. Nice rise for Now, Animal, Why Am I The One, Just A Fool (surprised that this is still going up!). Have you noticed that a lot of songs go up nine places on your chart? I keep meaning to comment on that but it always stands out to me for some reason!? Great to see Here With Me and The Phoenix debut as well.
I use a 9 point system in calculation so in making the chart more often than not the same outcome will more than likely happen either with songs I like (ie bullets [though a true bullet is +10]) and songs that have either over stayed their welcome OR i'm just not into anymore. A few exceptions to either of those outcomes of late have been Loreen - Crying Out Your Name & Foals - My Number.
75 - 25 - 04 SOMETHING FOR KATE - Survival Expert 73 - 02 - 73 ALL THAT REMAINS - Asking Too Much 71 - 23 - 07 THE HIVES - Wait A Minute 44 - 10 - 12 MUSE - Panic Station

Great to see Baiya still at #1! Awesome rise for Bruno too. The best part of your chart this week however is seeing the brilliant Mirrors and amazing If I Lose Myself debut! Great t osee Buble rise too.

My Number at #1, wow! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like it, but it just never clicked with me like that. Otherwise, cool to see JT & Youngblood Hawke jump into the top 10, and Cloud Nothings getting that slightly elusive 10 place jump Also awesome debuts for Haim & James Blake.
Nice to see Youngblood Hawke, Justin Timberlake, Fun., British India, Example, Fall Out Boy, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Chrvrches, The Temper Trap & Alicia Keys moving up, Good debuts for The Gaslight Anthem & Haim.
Cool to see Haim, The Gaslight Anthem and James Blake all debuting this week and Foals on top is cool too. Good jumps for Youngblood Hawke, Justin Timberlake, Matchbox Twenty, San Cisco, Michael Buble, British India, The Killers and Example.
Great to see Youngblood Hawke and JT bulleting into the top ten, as well as Fun inching closer each week. Nice rises too for Michael Buble and OneRepublic.

AWESOME to see Mirrors hit the top five. Such a good track, and I hope he can continue his rise. Also, it's so good to see Fun. hit the top ten. Elsewhere, great debut for Blurred Lines and good to see Girls Aloud, Fall Out Boy, Onerepublic, Alicia keys and Haim move up. Nice to see Almost Home charting but I'm sad that it's going to be out so soon. Also cool to see Royals enter.
