Forum - ARIA Charts: Special Occasion Charts - ARIA BOAT Singles List Updates

For past last three and a half years I've been maintaining my own version of the ARIA Best of All Time Singles list (http://australian-charts.com/bestall.asp ) on my site, updating it every two months. I've always documented the BOAT list's new entries, rising entries and leavers when I do a list update so I figure why not share them here too.

All 1000 singles in the list can be listened to in streaming audio here:

http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2011/10/aria-top-singles-of-all-time.html

I've also adapted the BOAT list into a Top 100 of Australian Singles of All Time list on my site as well, which also gets updated every two months (on the same day as the BOAT list update).

http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2013/08/aria-top-australian-singles-of-all-time.html

And I've also adapted the BOAT list into an ARIA Top Singles of the 2010s list which is a Top 100 list that gets updated every four months.

http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2015/02/aria-top-singles-of-2010s.html

One day I might compile and maintain my own AMR/ARIA BOAT Singles list, which would most likely use a triangular points system instead of the linear points system that is used on this site.

By the way, these lists have been updated essentially a week earlier than usual, which possibly explains why the summary is a bit shorter than usual - I got sick of waiting for the weekly ARIA Top 50 chart to be added to the site (it used to be done by Monday/Tuesday, now it's more like Thursday/Friday.)

So yeah, I think I'll do it on a Sunday from now on, which leaves Thursday as the only day of the week where I won't have any scheduled site work. lol

Which format do you guys prefer? The old one or the new one?
I feel like the new one is easier to read and it's easier to compare a song's new position and previous position.

Is Angel the first song from 1988 to present that had 8 weeks at #1 and is not in the BOAT top 1000?
Ok. I'll convert the previous updates to the new table format when I find some time. The likely answer to your question Zaccy is yes but I'd have to check. I've noticed that the points Shape of You gained from its position on the chart released today has pushed it past Party Rock Anthem. It's now the new BOAT #1 single. heh
Could you please explain or link me to the points system used on this site?
For the Australian chart, a linear points system is used where a #50 position gains 1 point, #49 gains 2 points, #48 gains 3 points and so on, where the #3 gains 48 points, #2 gains 49 points and the #1 gains 50 points.

The ARIA Top Australian Singles of All Time list remains unchanged.
It must be said that this is now the 4th time in a row that the ARIA Top Australian Singles of All Time list has not changed (i.e. no new entries or new peaks in the past eight months). In fact, there's no singles from 2017 in the list at all - the oldest being from October 2016. It's really sad to see Australian music struggling so badly in the charts lately.
With this week's chart, Shape Of You passes the 2000 points mark, first song to get there.
