http://kworb.net/popau/ The most convenient website to use for obtaining the current Australian iTunes chart (it however only updates at certain times), featuring easy to read pop bar number information for the top 100. You can also access other countries' charts using the drop down menu near the top of the page.
http://livepopbars.com/ Another website that provides top 100 pop bars and, in contrast to Kworb, updates in realtime and is perhaps most useful for its top 1500 iTunes chart.
http://itunescharts.net/ Daily archive of the top 100 iTunes charts that, for Australia, has been running from July 2010 onwards and also contains individual pages for each top 100 charter that displays daily chart runs.
iTunes AU #1's Tallyboard (This list refers to the songs that were at the top position at the end of each given day, hence 'official' - see the next table for those having made #1 on iTunes without ever completing the day)

Unofficial #1's Tallyboard (Referring to songs that topped the iTunes chart but did not complete the day at #1 and thus are not included in the main table)
luckily the Space Jam soundtrack isn't on iTunes or Spotify so we need not worry about this thread or my post blocking Firework from #1 when it's ready. But in saying that, the score is on there and James Newton Howard was in the top 5 at the start of the old thread, he's hungry for more I'm sure
Edit: Drapht is also #63 at the moment and could strike at any moment for the same reason. Last edited:
Bad Blood is now down to 75% but also has the second version which bumps it up to 90%
*insert rant about how annoying it is that Start Again is #1 when Hold Me Up didn't do anywhere near as well*
Also notable is that Fight Song is back into the top 10 + the following: #13 Waiting For Love #14 + #56 Like I'm Gonna Lose You (about #10 combined) #37 Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) #43 No One #44 Poison #52 Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow #59 Bad Girls #64 Can't Feel My Face #85 U Mad #100 Cool On Fire #104 Electric Body #106 Not Letting Go #116 Are You With Me #150 Yeah Boy
Oh and Black Magic is #5 now too, yay Last edited:
Firework is clearly just biding it's time until july 4th when BAM it'll be #1 and it shall be proved that jinx is indeed the wise prophet that we all believed and know he is and the world shall finally understand.
13 + 53. Meghan Trainor - Like I'm Gonna Lose You (feat. John Legend) (#6 combined, and close to 0.2% away from #5) 24. DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge - You Know You Like It 28. Parkway Drive - Vice Grip 29. 'Bad Blood' has lost the top spot on the Music Video charts to 'Wear Em Out'.
I haven't looked in a while, but for something that is usually around the #800 mark, Party Rock Anthem is nowhere to be seen in the top 1500 Sexy and I Know It is top 1200 though.
In a year of mediocre #1 hits, that would be the most pointless waste of space of them all if it made it. Hopefully some things will knock it down a few notches on the thingy very soon which should see it stop rising.
'Fight Song' has moved up to #2 at 92.37%, but Taylor Swift still on top at #3 & #41 at 103%.
6. Meghan Trainor - Like I'm Gonna Lose You (feat. John Legend) (other version gone from Top 100) 16. Adam Lambert - Ghost Town 24. Jason Derulo - Cheyenne 30. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face 32. And now florence is back at #1. Conrad's still at #1 singles wise with nothing much to speak of in the top 10. I don't often like new music, but i do like little mix's new one and that's just outside the top 10 at #11
Very delightful, indeed, bluezombie. Little mix for #1 (though it's very much a long shot ) On albums ed is still #1,seth is #2 and Hozier's entry back into the top 5 (now #3) has pushed florence out of the top 5

Chart saviour John Legend is up to 95.62%! I also like seeing Tkay & Wolf Alice in the top 60 on singles & albums respectively, hopefully the latter can make the top 50 officially this week!

There is yet another change in the #1 Album, and this time it's the 'So Fresh: The Hits of Winter 2015' compilation, which I think might stay at #1 for a while. 1. Various Artists - So Fresh: The Hits of Winter 2015 2. Hilary Duff - Breathe In. Breathe Out. 3. Golden Features - XXIV - EP 10. Leon Bridges - Coming Home 16. Surprised that Conrad has lost so much steam since Meghan got to #1.
12. Can't Feel My Face 13. Ghost Town 14. You Know You Like It 19. Headlights 20. Good For You 24. Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) 28. Golden 29. Worth It 38. Bang Bang (probably used in the ads for The Voice) 42. Peanut Butter Jelly 43. Bend 45. M.O.B. 62. Not Letting Go 64. Are You With Me 65. No Sleep
even though I still don't like The Weeknd much at all, I can definitely put that aside and get into CFMF. Probably the 3rd best song in the current top 10!
39. Runaway (U & I) 40. Peanut Butter Jelly - wow I didn't think this would have happened at all!
Also on the lovely songstress side of things, Eves The Behavior has a 2nd top 110 hit and Kita Alexander has a first. On the lol hard rock side of things, Disturbed & Breaking Benjamin are in the top 10 albums
I way way way prefer the original but everyone that i know called my such a hipster when i bought their album 2 years ago and now they're all gonna act like they love them and refuse to believe that i've followed them this long
Can't Feel My Face though kind of stuck at #9 has been making solid progress today and considering it's up to #2 on Spotify, I can see it being the #1 non-TV song soon. And Major Lazer up to #5, would like to see them sneak a #4 peak if they're lucky. Last edited:
I know Shazam is pretty useless but YKYLI has shot up from outside the top 10 to #2 this week, which I find interesting seeing it's been on radio for quite a while now, I expect to see a big jump for it on today's airplay chart.
Peanut Butter Jelly is up to #36, and ahead of Runaway! Interesting times!
Little Mix - Black Magic!!! currently #9, and has been charting in Top 10 since Sunday. #2 on Video Chart woo hoo! I'm so happy. Hopefully this means the song will rebound from #12, and finally peak in the ARIA Top 10!! please
But mostly, it's too good to be in there, only one awesome song is allowed it would seem and a Walk The Moon are filling that slot. Black Magic is the only other worthy one in there currently and the rest can go play in traffic.

In chart news(since that's what we're here for) taylor swift's out of the top 10(probably not for long) London grammar are still in the top 10(probably not for long either) and headlights is up to a new peak of #3,and the weekend is at #4
Good chance it's unknown to the main Voice audience, or at best, vaguely familiar from that weird drum & bass song they heard on the radio once or twice a long time ago
I for one am sad I can no longer laugh at Headlights overtaking a new song every hour
It seems to me that CFMF is currently the only contender for the next #1, but even this one won't reach the top for 3-4 more weeks (if ever). I guess Meghan Trainor might be enjoying the second longest staying #1 of the year after See You Again, or might even tie it.
Headlights is showing good increases, but it'll probably fall back down after the discount is over.
Clearly the least important part of that prediction Jesse
I feel like Like I'm Gonna Lose You doesn't have the strength to stay at #1 too long, just because it doesn't seem (to me) like something that has the cultural impact and presence of most long running #1s (though I am reminded of something that happened about a year ago ). I do agree with you though, I think Headlights' strength at the moment is largely fueled by its discount.
Can't Feel My Face has a good advantage over all the other potential songs at the moment in that it's #2 on Spotify and climbing rather fast (in the space of one day, it went from being twice as close to #3 than it is to #1, to the other way around), so you can give it a mental 7% boost on the iTunes chart. It also doesn't yet have a video (though neither does Like I'm Gonna Lose You I think?) so there's potential in that too.
On the other hand, it's interesting because The Weeknd usually charts worse here than everywhere else, but here is where he's just about doing the best at the moment Last edited:
I find it so weird that Headlights is now #2, not sure if it will go #1 but even if not it's still bizarre that it outdid both Prayer In C and Sun Goes Down.
6. Strong (Voice) 9. You Know You Like It 13. Watch Me 15. Golden 19. Peanut Butter Jelly 26. Worth It 29. Not Letting Go.
I can't help but chuckle at seeing Silento moving up to #7. Repetitive beats I can handle, but repetitive shout-outs? I have a feeling about 'Can't Feel My Face' making a shot at #1 but I'm not super confident. 'Like I'm Gonna Lose You' will surely fade much like 'Marvin Gaye' has. It just doesn't scream 'big in 2015' for me. Let's see how wrong I'll be. There are interesting movements within the Top 20 and higher playing out. If 'Worth It' can pick up some momentum towards the Top 10 then I'll be quite happy. Last edited:
Was released just 4 hours ago and already #1 in 27 countries, including the US, and top 10 in another 16 countries. Might be a chance of being a hit here too.
3. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face 6. Silento - Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) 20. Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer 33. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me 45. Meek Mill - All Eyes On You (feat. Wonder if Start Again will be able to hold onto the Top 10 on ARIA given it has now fallen to #11 (well, #12 given Bad Blood is #6 combined)
The Weeknd down to #4. Looks like my prediction about it being the next #1 contender might turn out wrong. It's nearing the top of the radio chart, so it doesn't really have much more room to grow. It still doesn't have a video, but so doesn't Meghan.
Other contenders: Headlights, Peanut Butter Jelly, Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) and Golden. All are discounted, so they're all hit or miss (most likely miss)
5. Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly 12. Fifth Harmony - Worth It (feat. Kid Ink) 18. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me 32. Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (feat. Majid Jordan) 41. Years & Years - Shine 43. Dolly Parton - Jolene 45 + 121. Blackstreet - No Diggity 59. Sam Smith - Lay Me Down 60. John Legend - All of Me 61. Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness 77. Pitbull - Fun (feat. Chris Brown) 90. Lakyn - Hold On, We're Going Home 99. Big Brother & The Holding Company - Piece of My Heart
On the Music Videos Chart, Eminem is #1, followed by Taylor Swift at #2, Madonna at #3, and Rihanna at #4.
I use to be annoyed with reality shows bumping up old tracks but I've reached the conclusion that there is a whole bunch of people who listen to songs on the radio and have no idea what they are called until it's performed on a reality competition. Radio (well at least what I have access to) these days just play songs and very very rarely tell me what was just played. I have no idea what the song is, unless I'm watching a countdown or something. When I was growing up, the DJ would tell the audience the name of the artist and songs that were just played, or was about to be played. Even going to lengths to mention the song that was played in the middle when 3 songs were played. Perhaps if radio went back to identifying songs every time they are played, perhaps people could actually buy the song at the time it is 'big' or perhaps free to air TV needs to bring back an actual weekly countdown show.
Hold On, We're Going Home was indeed performed on The Voice, as was Jolene, Summertime Sadness, Lay Me Down (yay the original is ahead now!) & All Of Me.
And No Diggity was on that Lip Sync Battle show
Also Worth It overtook Start Again for #11 lol
@BillyBrett, I'd add to that, that there's a good chance that people are also only passively listening to the radio, or are occupied at the time, so by the time they're able to log onto iTunes, they've already forgotten about that song they heard on the radio and liked. Prime time TV makes it a full focus while it's happening, and of course for every 1 person buying the #1 song on iTunes, about 100 are watching The Voice every night lol. Last edited:
I don't watch the voice and only followed it via it's own thread on here before i officially joined up,but is it the same songs chosen every year by the judges for the singers to perform? It seems that way sometimes!
I would much rather that it wasn't replaced by the worthless Fifth Harmony song, but at least that stupid Silento thing is out of the top ten. Plummet!
Paolo Nutini funking our life up in the top 100 yet again in 2015 *.*
With two versions combined, Lost Frequencies joins the club of 'outselling Conrad' which now boasts 13 members, and despite no longer being discounted, Silentooooooo back to #6. Last edited:
I imagine surely not as of course back in the 1950s, hit singles were pretty much always under the 3 minute mark and often shorter, but definitely the shortest in quite some time. Sales are really low right now so it shouldn't be too difficult for something to take over.
I think Peking Duk will initially do better than RÜFÜS because the general public is more exposed to them. Everyone's heard High and Take Me Over while RÜFÜS' best known songs (Take Me & Sundream) are barely known
That's true Tennis but I think RÜFÜS had more anticipation as it was their first release in 2 years. And of course they're a group who managed to get their debut album at #1 without much of a hit, so there's a sizeable fanbase.
Perhaps it'll just go down to which song the public prefer
Say My Name is #42 now, and The Weeknd's pre-order is already #15. Last edited:

The UK charts were just published tonight with no Spotify data, so don't be surprised if we get the same on Saturday night. The gaps are so small though that if streaming were currently included, Can't Feel My Face is in the lead so far this week (as it got to #1 on Spotify yesterday).
They don't count to the ARIA Chart but they do count to the iTunes chart, which of course makes it difficult to know how well something is selling, as album versions will still pick up sales from people buying them on their own.
2. Headlights (85.75%) 3. Are You With Me (81.74%) 4. Peanut Butter Jelly (78.88%) 5 + 42. Can't Feel My Face (72.89% + 17.20%)

The top 10 albums on itunes has had more of a shakeup than the singles chart. The Eagles are #1,foo fighters are 2 with a greatest hits package, the beatles #1 is 4,fleetwood mac has fallen to 5 and magic mike xxl has fallen as low as #8
Fight song is back in the top 5 (pity ) and magic mike xxl soundtrack i expect to be back at #1 by the end of tonight or sometime tomorrow. It's currently at #3 with rock ballads and the eagles at #2 and #1

Do you really not consider a single of the top 10 worthy? The only songs I dislike are FS and Golden. Sure Watch Me isn't good but it's just a dance fad like Gangnam Style. LIGLY is boring but the rest are all at least 7/10 songs IMO, even Worth It which I disliked until a week or two ago
I'm not the biggest fan of the current Top 10 either but I like three of the songs, with the potential to like another couple of them after repeated listens.
'Headlights' is the only one i like. In chart news(since that's what we're here for) Tame Impala are #1 on the albums chart and i think the fact that are you with me was a late #1 this week will probably mean it won't be no.1 on aria this week.
Peanut Butter Jelly is top 3 so I can't really complain, although I would like it at #1 instead of #3. Hope Can't Feel My Face hurries up and gets back in there too.
#10 Do It Again #20 Say My Name #21 Can't Feel My Face (single version was deleted earlier today) #32 Get Stupid #42 Shake That #47 How Deep Is Your Love (hoping it can go top 10 in the next few days!) #58 Everyday #59 Kings Never Die #64 Marvin Gaye #73 679 #95 Simple Things #99 Stole The Show #100 Search Party
Lost Frequencies isn't safe for #1 next week either. 5SOS have a new single dropping imminently and it can't be hard for them to muster 20,000 sales I imagine.
@Tennis: I really don't consider any of them worthy. That's not to say I hate them all, but I just don't think any of them are much good either and a couple of them are pretty bad.
Calvin Harris is top 40 now,and so is samantha jade. After the single version was deleted earlier today 'Can't Feel My Face' is back in the top 20 and may get top 10 once again. @Jinxie, 5SOS will probably get #1 especially once the video comes out and all the music progs start floggin it
'Can't Feel My Face' (Album Version) is back in the Top 10 now.

Could be right at this stage, burnt. 5SOS currently at #13. The Weeknd are at #2 and Calvin Harris is now #6. I'd like it to knock PBJ out of the top 5 but it'll likely knock headlights out.

His parents were big Bowie fans and gave him the name lol. I can't work out whether or not it rhymes with Bowie becauses radio presenters here and in the UK are giving me conflicting responses
Poor kid. Bowie itself is pronounced differently here to the UK. We say "tie a Bowie around the gift" and they say "go to the Bowie of the ship". Zowie is probably the same sit.
Agree on Fight Song, about time it left the top 10!

It's been months, but Uptown Funk can update its list of succeeding #1s that it has overtaken to 5 as Lean On falls to #41, and See You Again & You Don't Own Me aren't far away either (yes I know Lean On has superior streaming and a second version tucked away somewhere).
1 + 86. Are You With Me (106.02%) 2. Can't Feel My Face (76.37%) 3. Peanut Butter Jelly (70.25%) 4. Like I'm Gonna Lose You (65.72%) 5. Do It Again (60.68%)

Walk The Moon back in the ten to #7, and though it initially knocked Delts out, she's back in at #9 kicking Worth It out for maybe the 80th time. I assume I have DWTS and Voice to thank for these goodnesses.
I'm amazed how Stole The Show was a big Spotify hit (top 20 at the very least) at the time Firestone managed to hit the top 50 here, and now STS has finally reached our iTunes.
Well to be fair, Stole The Show has been in and around the top 200 for months now. Radio must just be picking it up. Kygo just does well on Spotify because he's on every playlist and makes inoffensive music that no one even notices (heck, Firestone doesn't actually get going until the 30 second mark when the stream has already been counted ). If you're less cynical, you could accept that he's getting a lot of streams and people like the songs, but those people use Spotify, they're not going to download the track on iTunes if they like it, so the only real chance is if they tell their iTunes-using friends 'hey check this song out'
Also yay Reality, big step up from Are You With Me
11. Vance Joy - Fire and the Flood 22. Fetty Wap - Trap Queen 27. Pharrell Williams - Freedom 38. Sam Feldt - Show Me Love (feat. Kimberly Anne) 44. Disclosure - Omen (feat. Sam Smith) 59. Artist name probably. It's so stupid sounding that I want to burst into laughter like a maniac every time I even think of it. How do you even come up with "Fetty Wap"?
Vance Joy is back up to #9 and Worthless has moved back to ten. Good news is Silento is out of the top ten, bad news is that Walk The Moon are too.
This will just make it more silly, but both 'Fetty' & 'Wap' essentially descend from colloquialisms which both mean money In light of the Tyler nonsense today, Trap Queen needs to keep climbing!
Also Action Bronson up to #166 & Heart Attack back at #196 *.*
I like both DIA and HDIYL. With those two in top 5 i can tolerate the top 3.The lower half of the top ten is just incredibly dull with silento, major lazer, and fifth harmony just playing musical chairs. At least now fight song is starting to slide.
I likey over half of the current Top 10 (noted in bold):
1. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me 2. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face 3. Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly 4. Meghan Trainor - Like I'm Gonna Lose You (feat. John Legend) 5. Dr. Dre's new soundtrack/album just hit #1 on pre-orders. Rip Detox memes
For singles, The Weeknd/Lost Frequencies are just about to climb back to 50%, Lost Frequencies was briefly #2 yesterday but The Weeknd has been gaining distance today.
also in anti-real music, Ghost Town is #4. Last edited:
Ugh, Ghost Town & Fight Song have really, really annoyed me. They chart for ages, seeming like a solid top 20 but nothing more and a couple of weeks after they seemingly peaked they just decide for what ever reason they want to join the top 10.
I am a massive Lambert fan, but "Ghost Town" is a really average song. In fact, his album is ordinary too. So I'm disappointed that it could be one of his biggest (if not his biggest) song.
Also on the average spectrum, more underwhelming if anything, is Disclosure/Sam Smiths' new collab. "Latch" standards it ain't.
Good For You appears to be popping its way to first class, #9 now. *clap clap clap*
One Direction may very well return to #1 also, they just moved 70% -> 76% on a white update. Should keep them from having a bad 2nd week drop on the charts, though they may drop back behind AYWM/CFMF on Friday depending on how iTunes advertising adjusts.
Dre's pre-order is back to #1 also.
Edit: Heart Attack new peak [s]#96[/s] #91 also ^.^ Last edited:
Ghost Town dropping hard but I can't see Drag Me Down being #1 again. Huge gap between Selena and Pia Mia so it'll be tough for Selena to continue her surge. Hopefully Demi can join her
Yay Demi! Demi and Pia Mia in the top 10 at the same time would be awesome! Pia Mia also had a short stint at #7 tonight before being overtaken again by Calvin, and One Direction are almost back to 80%.

Going to be an interesting week with Delta and Adam, could go either way, really depends how big Delta's lead gets and how long it stays there. I was never expecting for Adam to last this long to be honest.
I've rather liked this years #1s so far but there isn't going to be 26 #1s this year so it won't be beat 2004. I'd imagine it will be between 17-20 by year end unless there is a really long runner.
There have been a lot of #1s this year haven't there. I like Wings so good on it getting there. In fact the past 3 #1s (Ghost Town and AYWM) I have also enjoyed, not including OD in between although it's decent at least. Meanwhile Shut Up And Dance continues to troll, lol at SG getting sandy vag about it. Last edited:
Eh this year isn't that bad when it comes to #1s. This year has had Uptown Funk, Lean On and Bills which are all better than any #1 up to the same time last year in 2014. Would've been nice if the last seven #1s had been overall as good as the first 6 #1s of the year but it could be worse. I doubt we'll have more than 20 #1s (let alone 26) this year, we're due for another 5+ week #1 in the next two months imo. And if we're talking about music in general, this year has been great! All my opinion of course

The last time something spent 30+ consecutive days at #1 on ITunes was Uptown Funk and it looks like that trend won't end anytime soon. At least things aren't boring, well until the next overrated to death smash hit comes along that is.
1. Wings (100.00%) 2. Ghost Town (71.94%) 3. How Deep Is Your Love (71.40%) 4. Are You With Me (68.65%) 5. Can't Feel My Face (62.46%)

Aston Merrygold was #5 last night but now Nico & Vinz are. Presumably due to no competition, How Deep Is Your Love is starting to make a pounce for the top spot, nearly 80% though it's hard to tell if it's streaming advantage (approx. 1750 sales equivalent) will contend with Wings' physical sales.

I'm considering buying Calvin Harris's new song just in spite of Nico & Vinz but the fact that 'That's How You Know' is cheaper than 'How Deep is Your Love' might be the reason why it's going to stay #1 for a while.
It's more an urgency thing I think. When you see something on discount, there's an impulse factor that makes you have to quickly hurry to decide if you want to purchase something because if you don't now, it might no longer be discounted when you change your mind.
Personally I find myself often downloading songs that I otherwise wouldn't, if they're discounted. And then I also downloaded both the Major Lazer big hits (when I wasn't overly into them) because they were $1.19 but perhaps wouldn't be come Australia Day when I need to get them for my collection.
I guess the difference in the past with CD singles was that discounted singles stayed the same price on the shelf from their release date through to the day they got deleted, so there was no urgency to buy them, though, I admit I did buy some CD singles on discount that I would have otherwise not bought. Hehe
Surely the urgency was there in another way, because if you didn't get them when they were hot, they might disappear from the shelves and never come back.
I reckon that's a contributor to why the industry was stronger at the time. Now, especially with albums which are a larger investment, you can safely know that digital copies will still be in stock and easy to find, if you should 5 years down the track find the time to dig into them, but that could very well not happen, and people just don't end up buying the music ever. There were budgeting concerns back then because CD singles were two to five times the price of a $2.19 iTunes track, depending on the era. You just couldn't afford every single that you wanted in a short period of time, which is why various artists CD compilations were hugely popular.
I'd been getting 'Get it on iTunes $1.19 for a limited time only' ads for The Rubens today on Buzzjack I'm surprised to see Calvin Harris suddenly being pushed this hard. Well outside of Blame on Spotify

For Nico & Vinz it might also be a weekend effect? They stopped climbing pretty much all of last weekend so it might be a similar case again at the moment. Not being on New Singles To Watch is hurting the most I think though.
ha, maybe unlike Conrad they'll actually put a video out I don't think they'll just drop straight back and actually wouldn't count them out as getting to #1 next, just depends what happens with this How Deep Is Your Love push from next week onwards. Being #1 will help Calvin keep up the momentum, but if Sony are pushing so many sales out of it this week, it might also dry up sooner than expected.

Wow,wildest dreams and all the others have lost major ground against the biebs. I think if ellie drennan doesn't hit #1 by today or late tomorrow then it probably won't happen.
I'm actually surprised that Ghost (not to be confused with Ella Henderson, Halsey) by Ellie Drennan (not to be confused with Goulding, Rowsell) cracked the top 10.
Wildest Dreams is now #2 and with Ellie Drennan dropping to #7 after spending much of yesterday and today at #6 i think the chances of a voice #1 ain't gonna happen. Albums chart is just as slow with The Weeknd still #1 probably guarenteeing it to hit the ARIA top spot this week
Delta drops from 1-9 in one week and now HDIYL is #9 on iTunes. Nothing is having longetivity and we are turning into the UK. If Justin Bieber lasts 3 weeks in the T10 it'll be the surprise of the year.
2. Wildest Dreams (0.5103760000) 7. Ghost 8. Downtown 31. Where Are U Now (Of course) 34. Hula Hoop 37. Tyga - Stimulated 52. Nick Jonas - Levels 62. Greg Gould - Run To You. Last edited:
Hopefully bieber starts dropping soon so Wildest Dreams can get #1, who is the last artist/band/group etc to have 4 #1's from the same album? Would it be Delta and Innocent Eyes?
Can't see Wildest Dreams getting there. With the video out and her tour still months away it doesn't have much to boost it. Locked Away and maybe Downtown look like the only tracks on the chart at the moment that have potential to get to #1 after Bieber I think. Bieber has a really big lead still though so maybe it'll be a new release that'll get there. Last edited:

I honestly just want Nico & Vinz out of the Top 10 already. Also weird seeing Jamie Lawson in the Top 20 again. Also, what's up with 5sos plummeting so hard after only 1 week? This is their 3rd single this year and all of them have flopped and had no longevity.
EDIT: Also, why is Thinking Out Loud back in the Top 40? Last edited:
Apart from She's Kinda Hot, the 5SOS tracks are just insta-grats I think? So no radio airplay or promotion. And the case of She's Kinda Hot is that I guess it didn't really connect with a mass audience like their past singles.

Not sure if this is where to post it but Aussie ITunes is coming up to it's 10th anniversary.
Anyone know if they are doing a best of countdown?
They did one for the 1st year anniversary in 2006 although it didn't seem accurate as My Humps seemed excluded and a lot of 2005 hits managed to make it in the countdown and seeing as My Humps was a big seller and was released after ITunes began in Oz and when Gold Digger and Hung Up were #1 & #2 it seemed like they missed that one. Pon De Replay also peaked higher than Don't Cha which seemed a bit odd as they were released at the same time and Don't Cha had much higher sales.
There was a segment on Sunday Night about him last night while there's also going to be a tv special called Peter Allen: Not The Boy Next Door next Sunday.

Lol, Strong is #12; I assume Seven just aired reruns of The Voice instead of showing The X-Factor.
Unless this rebound is from something else, I'm genuinely surprised the two shows have enough of a different audience to get it this high who didn't just buy it a few weeks back.
Oh I didn't realise X Factor was already back on Georgia, Everybody's Free, Wicked Game, Elastic Heart & Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing are also back in the top 100.
Peter Allen would be courtesy of the TV special about him tonight.
It's interesting actually that If You Wait climbed much higher last time relative to how well Strong is doing at the moment. If you include the other two versions of Strong, it's probably #6/#7 atm.
Why does "Strong" keep charting really high (easily Top 20 everytime) whenever someone sings it? I wouldn't be complaining if all other chosen songs charted that high but why that song?
I have nothing against it but it's just out of the ordinary.
If You Wait climbed much higher last time because it was discounted and advertised on iTunes. Perhaps competition is stronger this time around as well.
Strong is probably #5 now with all versions combined.
What's funny is that when it was performed in the Voice battke rounds last year, it 'only' made #20 on iTunes. It may have been performed on the X Factor ln 2014 as well but didn't go Top 10 either.
Sigala has also ousted Calvin/Disciples from the top 10 and the Sia song from Twilight is in the top 20. Earned It is back to #40, Hotline Bling up to #60.

Jeez I can't remember when the top of the iTunes Charts have been this stagnant for such a prolonged period... It's only been like a week or so, but Bieber, Maklemore and Swift haven't/aren't moving anywhere...
#7-#11 are all very close atm. I hate it when two songs with the same name are hits in the same year. This is better than the Maroon 5 one though, so i'll have to pretend that one doesn't exist (I was kinda trying to do that already but...).

@bluezombie turn the record over 1000 times, then swim in a fountain just once, and then add the number of people who fell in water while Civil Twilight were playing. Go to the thread with that ID number and find my first post there. Last edited:

What strikes me as unusual about it is that they're setting them up as pre-orders for the next sales week, so instead of getting 4 days of sales, they're essentially getting 11, implying that they clearly want to hit the chart. I'm at least curious to see how last week's go. The flipside to the arrangement though is that they'll likely always be dropping out after a week, and being only on pre-order during their time of impact will probably just lessen their sales.

I hear mars is looking good this time of year and they've found water there so maybe i'll migrate there until they cancel x factor and get these reality singing contests off the air for good.
Are this year's X Factor performance releases still the silly recorded live versions? Or are they actually studio versions like The Voice did or American Idol have been doing? Cause honestly I have no problem with the X Factor releases if they are studio based - even if I don't agree with them charting. But if a pathetic live recording is topping the iTunes chart than that really is pathetic

Okay Hijinx we get it! You like the hills... I want every member of this site from this Friday not to look at the iTunes top songs for a whole week. Don't investigate to see percentages or see what's got lots of streamed or discounted or anything. Make your predictions for the week and then tell me how good it felt to have a countdown given to you without knowing the outcomes. It's great to know the songs even greater a treat to see how it all unfolds. So just give it a try. I'll even do predictions this week. I recommend of course choosing one person to do your updates as such just so you don't have a gaping whole in your data..
Don't Be So Hard On Yourself #2 now which is pretty great, looks like it could be top 10 on the next (and if not that one, the one after) chart
Also of note: #39 I Was Me #92 Burn Away #104 Cheater #107 Speak Easy
Also I love that Here has been hovering just inside and just outside the top 100 lately, hopefully it can rise some more and re-enter on ARIA Last edited:
Aye to be fair, in only one of my last 24 posts in this thread have I put forward a legitimate opinion on a song, and that was just with an emoticon, and it was a different song But I've just been back from the doctor dealing with my anxiety so I don't need this, enjoy your corny Macklemore song
I'll go along with ignore week, but i suck at making predictions so i'll skip that part. People can say you love a song, but mix it up a little is what i'd say. Nothin to get stressed about guys,we can all be polite here i'm sure.Just like i can say i don't love a single song in the entire top 40 and know that every member here would disagree with me and i respect that lol
Eh I'd maybe do it if your post didn't come across as so condescending... I have been paying less attention to iTunes lately anyway, I do look at it almost daily but never in much detail like I used to. Not that it's an issue either way, I do get suspense from the chart (especially thanks to streaming ) which is totally cool enough for me.
Also Wicked Game is now down to #6, I presume it will be out of the top 10 by midnight. A good thing since I don't really want it too high on Saturday's chart
I kinda agree with nate(no real surprise there) it's become so easy to predict the debuts each week, even if you don't know the number/position it'll enter at, you just look at the itunes chart and you can pretty much get it about 85-90% accurate. I personally remember when i would look at the top 50 every week, this is over 10 years ago mind you and felt surprised that some of my favourite songs managed to make it top 50.
Zacco. Sit on my middle finger & rotate. 2016 is my 10th anniversary here & by God do I give a flying F what some whiny grudge holding irritant perceives each & every post I write. You don't like me I get it. Just continue to ignore anything I post because it's better that way. I'm 30 years old & in my time I've learnt that if there's a guy behind a screen with a constant complaint he is probably a weedy know it all know nothing skinny ass virgin with self esteem issues.
I think people can percieve things differently and while i am fond of zaccy from my time spent in the chat room here and i respect what he's saying, but i never saw what nate said as condescending at all. But as i say people are gonna always percieve things differently. Wouldn't ideally someone wanna go along with an idea on merit, whether it works on paper or not, rather than someone coming across as condecending. Maybe i'm living in bizarro world where things appear to make sense, but don't lol
I didn't find it condescending, but rather disheartening. Y'all should know how much I struggle to speak up, what with my mental issues, and to invoke a reaction when I really haven't been saying anything provocative is not something I need.
But, I've got bigger issues on my mind and I'm not mad or angry at all right now
To keep on topic, Wicked Game is down to #7, and Reality is up to #65.
The tone of it came across as "my way is the only right way" but maybe that's just me.
As for you Nate do you really blame for me not liking you after the abuse you hurled at myself and others in the chat room multiple times? Or the way you've had numerous petty arguments with people just because they disagree with you (or say something you don't agree with)? It also doesn't help when you try and use the fact that you've been on the site for almost 10 years as a way of being somehow superior.
What I possibly find more irritating though is how insistent you are on assuming things about my life outside the site. What makes you think you have any idea?
Why is the Top 10 so boring in America? I just stumbled across the American iTunes and it's really crap compared to ours. Maybe "What Do You Mean?" & possibly "Locked Away" from the slow bore fest, it's weird how so many boring songs there are compared to Australia (granted that our Top 10 has some
USA Top 10 (1-2/10 are not boring) 1. Hotline Bling (1.0) 2. The Hills (Remix) (0.837) 3. The Hills (0.684) 4. Wildest Dreams (0.673) 5. Stitches (0.618) 6. What Do You Mean? (0.604) 7. Same Old Love (0.598) 8. Ex's & Oh's (0.567) 9. Locked Away (0.506) 10. Like I'm Gonna Lose You (0.488)
Australia Top 10 (4-6/10 are not boring but the Top 3 is pretty lively.) 1. Downtown (1.0) 2. Don't Be So Hard On Yourself (0.865) 3. On My Mind (0.811) 4. Sugar (0.795) 5. What Do You Mean? (0.746) 6. Wicked Game from X Factor (0.729) 7. Lay It All On Me (0.713) 8. Hotline Bling (0.662) 9. Dessert (0.614) 10. The Hills (Remix) (0.58)
On something off-topic, "Never Forget You" is at #63
Rather than comment on what zaccy and jinx said, and i don't agree with eveything said,i'm too tired to wanna continue the debate that seems to be going on(and i think buls will come in and slap us around if we digress too much) so i will just say if you don't agree with someone then just be polite and say i don't agree, but i respect your view. I don't agree with half the things that jinx or zaccy or even others say but it's their opinion at the end of the day. This would have been over if only in reply to nate's idea it was said it doesn't work for me(which jinx did say) instead of putting out accusations. To get back on topic though that U.S itunes top 10 is dull. No one act seems to breakout from the crowd..the most popular stuff wins out. I mean c'mon 'like i'm gonna lose you'? really? it's had it's turn and it's rubbish (In my own possibly flawed personal opinion)
It always seems to me that whenever nate has an opinion everyone immediately jumps gets on his jock as if automatically he's wrong. When someone adds gasoline to an already hot fire of course there's gonna be problems and nate's back gets up and he comes out swinging. My intent is not to take sides, whatever's happened in the past between peeps leave it in the past and just go forward and be happy and try to see the other person's P.O.V. Life's too short for arguments.
I'd provide an Itoons update to keep this post on topic but i'm not looking at it,remember
I dunno personally if it's that necessary. It'll get pushed up screen in the coming days anyway and will all be mostly forgotten. I'd no idea that Jess Glynne had been in the country and had even been on XF until it was mentioned that her album had gone #1. I've never even heard her music
Not even that, tennis. I don't have much of an interest in modern music so unless i happen to see the video for a song on tv or i hear it on radio(which i rarely listen to anyway) then i'm usually oblivious.
To be fair jinx, you have talked about 'The Hills' a lot (though i do accept that you haven't been giving an actual opinion on it) on the 10th october, the 12th and twice on the 14th,and before that way back on the 25th september. I'm not criticising you, just pointing out facts.
Amount of years on this site doesn't give anyone the right to not be judged harshly for the words spoken in any post.
And for that, Nate, that was too much.
We all love the charts, and this site. While we might have differing opinions, addressing people in that manner doesn't have any place in any civil discourse. I honestly don't care if Zacco has been hounding you with constant complaints, because nothing of what you wrote is warranted from that particular exchange or in general, for that matter.
I personally take little weight in what some commentators here say because i don't care for their (entirely!) valid opinions, but I don't belittle those people with slurs and insults. I suggest you do the same.
EDIT: the post by Zacco after Nate's offensive post is pretty unnecessary too, in my opinion, and also goes to the heart of the "play the chart, not the person" philosophy.
aannnnnd nate's hackles get put up once again...i think now buls needs to come in and delete ALL the related posts because i think this kind of bullying is starting to go a bit far. This is the last i'm gonna comment on this because a) i'm very tired and this is very energy draining stuff, and b) any attempt i make to try and put things said by people in perpective seems to do no good. If anyone has such a problem with what nate says then don't read it. I think jinx did the right thing in saying that nate's idea with the itunes chart was not his thing and like i say i'm fond of zaccy and always will be.For him coming into the chat room on my first night here and talking to me i'll never forget, but by suggesting nate was being condescending just added gasoline to an already raging fire..no wonder nate was gonna come out punches ready in response. Everyone gets on nate's case because he has an opinion that differs. Stop antagonising him by suggesting he's doing something other than that and maybe he won't be so aggressive toward you. It's the closest thing to bullying, tbh. Anyway if anyone wants to delete this post, feel free, just read it first and memo me if you agree/disagree so as not to digress from this thread
Jesse: I'm simply referring to the lines "weedy know it all know nothing skinny ass virgin with self esteem issues" and "whiny grudge holding irritant".
That is unnecessary, and shouldn't need to be 'not read' in a civil forum... It should not be there in the first place.
Jessy, Rather Be has been in a recent TV advert (for cars I think). It has some dude doing street side sign spinning or something. *shrugs* I usually tune out the visuals and just enjoy the music in ads. lol
Hopefully my comments weren't too bad Hijinx, more just stating an opinion rather than anything, as I'm not particularly a fan of that song and there are other songs I'd prefer at #1, but if my words were harmful in any way, I apologize for that.
In saying that, I'll still enjoy my Macklemore song. Should be interesting to see what makes #1 this week given there are a few challengers!
First world issues, just woke up, so much to digest. Zacco just sees any of my posts and takes aim. You're clearly caught up in something so small & trivial that happened along time ago I have forgotten. I don't know anything about you zacco my comment about the person behind a screen is because that's my experience whether you fit the bill or not ...? Who knows, who cares. I'll continue to stand up for me. I focus on music majority of my posts are star related. Just stop trolling my posts and interpreting them in a negative way and taking aim because you're holding a grudge. I say I've been on here for that long because it shows my dedication. I've had some arguments but all are long forgotten because each party respected each others opinions at the end of the day. Move on. That's it in a nutshell. I thought it would be cool for everyone to feel the unknown come chart rollout... Simples.

And peace reigns in the land of aus charts today Grant i barely watch tv as it is and so have not seen the commercial and usually put them on mute anyway.
I'll give it a listen, tennis. I remembered today seeing the video on one of those saturday morning shows at the time it was released, just never heard it. On the subject of videos,i saw the video for the macklemore cheese fest. Good grief, that has more cheese in it than a cheese toastie
Good song. The video is a bit annoying, but i just minimised the window and listened to the music. Jess has a good voice. I think some music videos can put people off listening to a song.
