This chart represents the combined charting positions of recording artists discovered by the plethora of TV shows out there determined to find the next big thing. Whether its Idol, ...Got Talent or X Factor, they all have one goal in common - to find someone who can line the purses of a record company with money. Please note when Eurovision comes around, the winning song will be eligible to enter only AFTER it wins (assuming it wasn't already charting under previous rules). The artist will only be eligible for further entries if they meet the standard of being discovered through a reality show type of competition.
This chart compiles data from the following countries:
Australia (Top 100 Singles & Albums) New Zealand (Top 40 Singles & Albums) United Kingdom (Top 100 Singles & Top 200 Albums) Scotland (Top 100 Singles & Albums) Wales (Top 75 Singles & Albums) Ireland (Top 100 Singles & Top 100 Albums) United States of America (Top 100 Singles & Top 200 Albums) Canada (Top 100 Singles & Top 50 Albums) Sweden (Top 100 Singles & Top 60 Albums) Netherlands (Top 100 Singles & Albums) Germany (Top 100 Singles & Albums)
Points are awarded on an inverse scale. For the Singles chart if a song is sitting at #1 it gets 100 points, if it is sitting at #100 it gets 1 point. For the album chart if it is sitting at #1 it gets 200 points, if it is sitting at #200 it gets 1 point)
This chart will be updated generally every Tuesday evening. Comments as usual are welcomed and appreciated.
Love the Clean Bandit track, so great to see it debut. Hopefully it can climb to #1. Nice top 5 too. I did not know Zara Larsson was from a Reality show Surprised there isn't more Eurovision love - though it was pretty weak this year.
Zara won the 2008 season of Sweden's Got Talent at the age of 10. Sweden's answer to Bonnie Anderson I guess.
I think streaming really hurt Eurovision this year on my chart. And that the winner wasn't universally loved. There were plenty of eligible acts for the chart but unfortunately they weren't charting in large numbers on the charts that count.
Wow @ Fifth Harmony's #1 run! Love it, but I really want to see either Olly Murs or Clean Bandit/Louisa Johnson take over the #1 spot. Let's hope MK and Becky Hill can reach the top 10 too! Pretty good chart overall
