Only slightly later than last year, it's finally here-ish! I just have to make a playlist and make all the posts but apart from that it's all ready to go.
I would do the usual teaser stuff if I had studied the list more closely at this point and if it weren't about 3:30am, but I will note that the current planned schedule is to start at 2:00pm on Sunday, the 19th of February, and as per usual, you will be able to tune in via this link http://myradiostream.com/station/flashplayer.php?s=s6&p=14748
-There are some really close scores this year. 5 adjacent songs are separated by all of 7 points, and elsewhere there's a tie, which I've conveniently broken by the song with the highest individual vote going above. -The #10 and #11 songs are separated by less than the value of a #100 vote -Every former #1 artist in these lists has done something this year, whether writing or performing, and all but two members of fun. and Jess Glynne are at least as high as the top 220 here. -Of the 15 ARIA #1 singles in 2016, 11 feature in the top 200 -18 of the ARIA #1 albums in 2016 feature somewhere in the top 200 -A song that features on more lists than a few songs in the top 10, including one by the same artist, has missed the top 200. -There is just ONE song from last year's list that just barely scraped the top 100 -There are at least 4 different languages displayed in the top 100, and artists from at least 14 different countries, many of which are represented by more than just 1 artist. -If you include featured artists but not remixers, there are a whopping 71 artists who are featuring in the top 100 for the very first time -Almost everyone has at least 2 of their top 10 represented in the top 100, but only 2 people have more than 8
Speaking of which, this list is curated by all the lists I found posted on the site, namely from these people:

If I missed you then I'm truly sorry, and will perhaps have to post a revised version of the list after all is said and done.
And now the broadcast is just about ready, and still should go ahead at the pre-advertised time of 2pm on Sunday AEDT. But feel free to pop into chat a bit early on the day, presuming I'm awake and depending on how many people there are, I'd be keen to have a session of Quiplash (joke-making multiplayer game) or binb (music guessing game, like SongPop where everyone guesses at the same time).
And there were a lot of preds in last year's thread so feel free to do that for fun. It is always a very important matter as to who gets closest to the correct #69 guess of course. Last edited:

Of my EOY top 10, I know Sexual will definitely be in there but thinking Old Habits Die Hard is the only other song with a chance at all. I may be one of the few that doesn't have 2 or more of their top 10 in the top 100.
I haven't heard Love Song in almost a year I think! Good song, a nice surprise. Cold Water was #176 in my EOY so great to see it in. I predicted it to be #82. Which is a much better pred than my ones for Cranes In The Sky (#29) and No Money (#49). Surprisingly didn't think of Sex when doing my pred. Good songs so far other than Sex
Knew Say You Won't Let Go would be here so not annoyed, though would have liked if it were lower (like about #94 where I predicted). It's not the worst ARIA hit in here for sure. Bored To Death isn't the worst thing ever but I was happy not thinking about its existence Last edited:
Capsize is good, predicted it to be #54. Me Too is hardly the worst thing out there but it being that much higher than NO is gross. I predicted it to be in what turned out to be NO's position Secret Love Song is alright but prefer pretty much every other Little Mix track, I only expected it to be #75. I thought Brocolli would miss out so #37 is quite the surprise! Daydreaming is not one I enjoy much but props to it for being much higher than I expected (#74 pred). Angel Olsen is a bit higher than expected too, I had her at #53. Good song that grew on me a fair bit with ACI exposure. Dear Life is nice but like Wings a bit too high for my liking. #81 pred for it. I predicted Stressed Out to be #10, but it being the first top 10 pred of mine to go is alright I suppose. It's a good song that I'm glad is the highest Twenty One Pilots here. I predicted Work From Home to be #11 lmao, I wish it were higher because I like it a fair bit but #32 is good. I quite like Genghis Khan but only expected it to be #80 haha. Also underestimated When We Were Young, only had it #71. Good to see it this high I guess, but pity it's lower than Send My Love (To Your New Lover).
All those songs I missed but none of them were in my EOY, current streak of 17 songs is the most I've gone in this combined without an EOY entry
But seriously so glad this didn't end up being his highest combined placer, but gross at it beating out everything that isn't Pray To God Expected it to be #18 so a bit of a relief it's lower than expected. Last edited:
I was thinking of including this in my pred but then went 'nah that's overestimating it'. But turns out I was very wrong. 10 lists is amazing, and that's only including top 100s Higher than Loud Places too! It was #148 for me.
Calum Scott is awful. Loved hearing the lady dragging it and then the transition into Robyn's version at the end. I had it #76 so very annoyed it's as high as it is. The Sound was #64 in my pred, so while it's never been a huge favourite, well done for well exceeding my expectations!
Final Song! So glad it made the top 10! What a surprise Was my #100. I only expected it to be #46 lol. Much higher than it was in the Hottest 100. Predicted I Took A Pill In Ibiza to be #14 and would've preferred it there tbh
Wasn't top 100 for me, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't something I was in2, in2. #133 in my EOY and I totally expected it to be #1 so what a shock it wasn't even top 5. Not even her highest combined placing
Be The One would've been about top 100 2016 quality but I guess I'll see where it will end up next time I revise my 2015 EOY Cheap Thrills is good, a bit surprised it's #2 but it does feel reminiscent of Faded achieving that feat. It's a good song Predicted Be The One correctly at #3 and Cheap Thrills at #5
Definitely the obvious winner for a little while (to me anyway), and thoroughly deserved! My #15, and a much better song than Cheap Thrills, congrats to The Weeknd for being #1 on something in Australia!
Still a bit annoyed that this got the #1 yet Can't Feel My Face had to settle for #2, but this is a good song and I'm amazed Daft Punk have two combined EOY #1s now! #146 in my EOY. 23 songs from my full top 250 made it this year
Great chart everyone! Starboy is a very deserving #1 and I actually like (to some extent) all the songs in the top 11! So cool to see.
What I am most pleased though, is that the combined has become so diverse in recent years. Seeing songs like Formation at #11, Ultralight Beam #17, On Hold at #23 and Jungle at #44 are such super cool results that I never thought I would see from a few years ago. Also love DMA's getting in, that was probably my favourite surprise of the day
Counting quickly, I got 18 from my top 100 in, and many many more from my #101-#151 section (with #151 being Starboy), and 3 of my top 10! I couldn't be more stoked with that, especially 2x The 1975 in the top 20! I was sure Somebody Else wouldn't be in the top 10 but I had a glimmer of hope
As always, thanks to Hijinx for running it and thanks to all the contributors. May 2017 be a great year to all Last edited:
I wanted Ariana for #1 but still, you can't go wrong with some Starboy, and I love that it finally broke its #2 curse on the big list :') I love a good 2/3 of the top 15 too! Formation getting so high and Broccoli even making it were great surprises, and I'm particularly happy for the songs on few lists I helped sneak in - Time To Share, Hummingbird, and Moments, an otherwise little-heard song that became popular on this site, and made it here amongst some big songs!
A great finish to 2016's EOY season, and of course, props to Hijinx for all the time spent rounding up lists and dealing with late submitters (like myself), successfully adding up all the songs written in 15 different ways, and sitting through enough Calum Scott to make that Robyn edit
Here are some stats (I hope I'm not intruding on anything Hijinx was planning to post):
- Most songs in: D Man/K8 (44), Nate (42), JMcN (35), alley (34) - Least songs in: NationOfZealots (6), ChartGuru/GavinScott/Zacco (11), irelander (12) - alley and D Man had the entire combined top 10 in their lists - JMcN got all their top 10 in the combined; NOZ got 0 - 2 songs made it without a top 20 placing, "Adore" (highest: #21) and "The Ocean" (highest: #23) - "The Sound" made top 20 with 3 top 3 placings and nothing lower; a further 7 songs made it with 2 top 20 placings and no more: "Believe", "Time To Share", "Dusseldorf", "Solo", "Dog Years", "Self Control" and "Moments" - As harley(?) said, "Be The One" would be #1 if you added its points from being #145 of 2015, and "Middle" would be #17 with its 2015 and 2016 points combined - "Starboy" got an average of 298 points per contributor; "King" got 415, and "Rather Be" got 359 - A few double-ups on low positions: "On Hold" was #84 for both Clinton & Hijinx, "Into You" was #72 for D Man & GavinScott, "CAN'T STOP THE FEELING!" was #71 for Nate & q16Martin, and "Cold Water" was #54 for D Man & K8 Last edited:
I'm flashing back to the Hottest 100 because once again I'm spent Had a blast today with all the endless bickering/knee-jerk reactions/trolling Also was glad to have a full on Quiplash session, made for a great afterparty of sorts.
As I'm sure you want to know, the 101-200 list is coming soon, perhaps tomorrow in chat if I get to it. If QLVG ends up being a little bit late I hope no one minds, I'm ready to enjoy a proper week of holidays before uni kicks back in next week
Hey, this is a long time in the waiting but I finally got around to it. Since they hadn't posted their lists in time, I couldn't include Mykl or crazychris's lists in this EOY, and a lot of people were curious what the list would look like if they had. I have very much done the maths and here it is
