After a single week away from the top of the ARIA Singles Chart, Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" returns to the top of the Australian charts for a record breaking fourteenth week at No.1.

"Shape of You" was already the longest running No.1 for this decade and century, and it now pulls further away with its fourteenth week at the top, and in the process it also becomes the equal longest running No.1 song in Australia since weekly charts began in January of 1949. At this time in 1976 ABBA's "Fernando" was three weeks into its fourteen week run at No.1, the only other song to stay this long at the top, and now Ed has equallad that record.

With Ed's return to the top of the singles chart, he also increases his accumulation of weeks at No.1 to now 20 weeks, moving him to equal 32nd on the list of 'Most Accumulated Weeks at No.1 (1940 to 2017) alongside the twenty weeks from seven No.1's Eddie Fisher (Carrie's dad) racked up in the 1950's. For this decade Ed now moves from fourth to third for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 2010's', surpassing the 19 weeks achieved by LMFAO, and now he is one week away from Pharrell Williams' 21 amassed weeks and three weeks away from record holder for this decade in Rihanna who has racked up 23 weeks from seven No.1's during the 2010's. It is also now a sixth overall week that Ed has topped both charts, with the last solo Male artist to hold both charts for this many weeks being Michael Jackson back from early December of 1991 with "Black or White" and his album "Dangerous". Plus Ed breaks one more record this week, so see below for the longest running Top 100 chart run info.

Now Ed Sheeran's 'Shape' might be nationally No.1, but it is not at the top of either the digital (#5) or streaming (#2) charts, as Kendrick Lamar's "Humble." is the top streamed track this week and is at No.2 nationally, but down at No.14 on the digital sales listing, but it does now become his third Top 3 single in Australia, but his first as a lead artist, whilst the No.1 digital selling song this week goes to Ed Sheeran, but it is "Galway Girl" (#3 streamed) and it is back up one spot this week to No.3, swapping places with The Chainsmokers and Coldplay's teaming "Something Just Like This" down a place to No.4.

Last weeks debut at No.1 for Harry Styles and his first entry "Sign of the Times" drops four places this week to land at No.5, whilst another of last weeks entrants (it climbed into the ten, not debuted within it) was "Symphony" for Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson, which is up three places to a new peak of No.6. Zedd and Alessia Cara drop two places to No.7 with "Stay", and Lorde falls three spots to No.9 with her "Green Light", whilst on hold this week are Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" and "It Ain't Me" for Kygo & Selena Gomez at No.8 and No.10 respectively.

* Dean Lewis' re-issued track "Waves" is up four places to a new peak of No.21.
* Also up four places are Jason DeRulo with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign and their collaboration in "Swalla", to a new chart height of No.25.
* With the eighth film in the franchise "The Fate of the Furious" in cinemas last week, the lead single from the album in "Good Life" by G-Eazy and Kehlani (#100 for a week on 3rd April) returns to the Top 100 at a new peak of No.31.
* After cracking the Top 50 last week, the Kyle track "iSpy" enters the Top 40 by moving up six places to No.36.
* Bliss N' Eso with Gavin James and their track "Moments" debuted at No.41 three weeks ago, then fell to No.45 last week, and now rises slightly to No.43.
* Whilst it's also a resurrection for Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato's pairing as "No Promises" which also entered three weeks ago at No.49, is now back up seven to No.50 this week.
* Kaleo continue to rise with "Way Down We Go", up five to a new peak of No.53.
* A ten place rise for Post Malone this week with "Congratulations" to a new chart height of No.65.

* Ed Sheeran not only has the equal longest running No.1 in Oz, but also now has the longest charted single too, as "Thinking Out Loud" racks up its 124th week within the Top 100 and is up one spot to No.92, beating the 123 weeks set previously by "Riptide" for Vance Joy.

* There is hardly any movement within the Top 20 (other than three debuts), but scoring a new ▲Platinum certification is Calvin Harris and his track "Slide", which is down one place to No.14 this week, whilst his most recent entry "Heatstroke" is down four to No.27.
* Leaving the Top 20 for the first time since it debuted fourteen weeks ago are The Chainsmokers and "Paris", down four to No.22 and now 2x▲Platinum in sales.
* After peaking at No.20 last week, Future and his "Mask off" track are back down four to No.24, whilst his two other Top 50 entries all move down, "Cold" the Maroon 5 track is down three to No.39 and his duet with Rihanna in "Selfish" falls seven to No.44 after peaking at No.37 last week.
* Snakehips and MØ fall seven places this week to No.26 with the song "Don't Leave".
* Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm" loses momentuum and drops eleven spots to No.33.
* Amy Shark is down two spots to No.34 with her first entry "Adore", which is now 2x▲Platinum.
* After the recent rise back up for the 'Moana' theme song "How Far I'll Go" by Alessia Cara, this week it falls eight places to No.35.
* Pnau and their "Chameleon" drop seven places to No.37.
* Down nine places to No.40 are The Weeknd and Daft Punk with "I Feel it Coming", whilst their "Starboy" track is only down three this week to No.49.
* "Capsize" for Frenship and Emily Warren is down eight to No.46.
* Taking a big tumble, and down sixteen places to No.55 is Adele with "Water Under the Bridge".

* The Chainsmokers latest single "The One" is down twenty-one places to No.64 this week.
* The teaming of Robin Schulz, David Guetta and Cheat Codes on the song "Shed a Light" drops ten places to No.70.
* Drake's "Fake Love" descends thirteen places to No.75 this week.
* Another David Guetta teaming with Nicki Minaj and Lil' Wayne on the track "Light My Body up" is down twelve places to No.76.
* Down eleven to No.82 is Sage the Gemini with "Now and Later".

* #16 - DNA by Kendrick Lamar (contains a sample of "Mary Jane" by Rick James).
* #20 - Loyalty by Kendrick Lamar feat Rihanna (contains a sample of "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars).
* #29 - Love by Kendrick Lamar feat Zacari are all from Kendrick's fourth studio album "DAMN.", which enters at No.2 on the albums chart this week, and has already seen the current No.2 single in the country "Humble" released from it. Plus with two of his three entries debuting within the Top 20, he has also now amassed six Top 20 entries (3 solo, 3 as guest artist) in Australia.

* #17 - The Cure by Lady Gaga is the third single released from her "Joanne" album, and enters within the Top 20 this week after her performance at Coachella last weekend, where she headlined the festival. This becomes her sixteenth Top 20 single in Australia and her second from her current album, the other being "Perfect Illusion" which hit No.14 in September of 2016.

* #86 - The Night We Met by Lord Huron is the first entry for the US indie-folk four piece from Los Angeles, taken from their second album entitled "Strange Trails" which was released in April of 2015, and has only charted here, France (#168) and the US Rock Chart (#6).

* #93 - Despacito by Luis Fonsi feat Daddy Yankee is the first entry for the Puerto Rican singer and actor, who is joined by fellow countryman Daddy Yankee, this now his third entry overall. The song has so far hit No.1 in Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. The song's clip is now the second fastest on YouTube to hit 1 billion views (it's at 1.03b now), as it did so in 49 days, "Hello" by Adele is still the fatest.

* #96 - Kissing Strangers by DNCE feat Nicki Minaj is the first taste from the forthcoming second DNCE album (no date or title known as yet), and becomes the four-piece bands' fifth Top 100 Singles chart entry (four as lead, one as guest), and features Nicki Minaj as guest rapper.

It's a seventh week in a row for Ed Sheeran's "÷ (Divide)" at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart, one week shy of the eight weeks his previous set "x (Multiply)" (TW-9) achieved during its six separate runs at the top during 2014 and 2015.

The last time an album stayed for seven consecutive weeks at No.1 was "25" (down one place to No.6 this week) by Adele from its debut in late November of 2015 until the second week of January in 2016. Ed has now amassed sixteen weeks at No.1, and he moves from equal 38th to now equal 36th on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums (1965 to 2017)' alongside the sixteen weeks racked up by INXS (from 4 #1's) and Simon & Garfunkel (one #1 album).

The fourth studio album for Kendrick Lamar entitled "DAMN." debuts at No.2 this week, becoming his third straight Top 3 entry after "untitled, unmastered" (HP-3, March 2016) and "To Pimp a Butterfly" (HP-1, March 2015), and this entry matches the position of the albums first single in "Humble" which climbs to a new peak of No.2 this week. Plus the album also launches three more songs onto the chart this week in "DNA" (#16), "Loyalty" (#20) and "Love" (#29), the set featuring guest acts such as Rihanna and U2 and production from Mike Will Made-it and Dr. Dre.

Local soprano Mark Vincent takes his seventh studio album "A Tribute to Mario Lanza" straight into the chart at No.3, becoming his highest debut position so far, and overall his fourth Top 5 set and fifth Top 10 album, plus his now second highest charted after his debut album "My Dream-My Visione" which climbed to No.2 in late July of 2009, this new set is all in time for Australia's upcoming Mother's Day in three weeks.

Two of last weeks Top 10 debuts retain their status within the ten this week, down two places to No.4 is the latest Tina Arena collection "Greatest Hits and Interpretations", and also halving its position from last week are The Chainsmokers with "Memories... Do Not Open", which is down four places to No.8. The third and final new entry to the Top 10 this week is at No.5 and it's the seventh studio album for John Mayer entitled "The Search for Everything", which by entering within the ten becomes his sixth Top 10 and Top 5 set, with his last set "Paradise Valley" hitting No.1 in early September of 2013.

The remainder of the Top 10 consists of "25" by Adele, down one to No.6, two soundtracks in "Trolls" (up one to No.7) and "Moana" (down four to No.10), with Ed Sheeran's "x (Multiply)" on hold at No.9 again this week.

* After 130 weeks within the Top 100, the last Taylor Swift album in "1989" this week jumps back into the Top 20, up eleven places to No.16, it hasn't been this high since mid-October of 2016.
* With ANZAC day this coming Tuesday, the tie-in album "Remembrance" is up nine places to a new peak of No.20 this week.
* Justin Bieber might have finished his national tour several weeks ago, but his "Purpose" is not finished as yet, this week it rises thirteen places to No.24.

Chained To The Rhythm Good to see the Kendrick tracks haven't been denied. Poor The Cure, but I suppose it'll go top 10 next week at least. I'm doing surprisingly well with preds this week
5v4121Harry Styles - Sign Of The Times

4v1382The Chainsmokers & Coldplay - Something Just Like This

3^1472Ed Sheeran - Galway Girl

NEW PEAK #42^5732Kendrick Lamar - Humble.

114TH WEEK @ #1^12151Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You
4

Top 50 dropouts:

LWArtist - Title
39Adele - Water Under The Bridge
43The Chainsmokers - The One
44Ed Sheeran - Happier
47Sheppard - Keep Me Crazy
49Ed Sheeran - Dive
50Stargate (feat P!nk & Sia) - Waterfall
Poor Kendrick
Shucks, but I can't be too greedy as I'm still over the moon that To Pimp A Butterfly hit #1. Disappointing though to see LUST. & XXX. (among many others) denied from charting though
So Ed gets the record. Top songs on the various charts are:

Overall: Shape of You - Ed Sheeran
Australian: Waves - Dean Lewis
Streaming: Humble - Kendrick Lamar
Aussie Streaming: Call on me - Starley
Urban: Humble
Dance: Symphony - Clean Bandit
Club: Love Addict: Colour Castle
Digital: Galway Girl - Ed Sheeran
Streaming video: Shape of You
http://youtu.be/CHoVfTRktrc ...at least Ed ends the HBF theme song's reign as the longest charting single.
With an asterisk though. If the chart weren't missing so many songs, it'd rightly drop out. Though as I say that, I'm sure both songs are guilty of getting away with this.
The Medibank theme song rather. Whoopsie!
lol Jinxie... are you saying that MOAR than eight songs were denied this week?
yeah, from Kendrick there's ELEMENT. which should be in the top 40, and the rest of the album (9 other tracks) should be somewhere between 41 and 90. There's also Khalid's Location which should have debuted this week, it's doing better numbers on Spotify & iTunes than Shed A Light which is safely charting.
What a week for Ed, records for both Thinking Out Loud and Shape Of You! I'm quite pleased. And Divide holding at number one as well, but I think if Kendrick had a simultaneous physical release that would be a different story.
Oh ok. In that case, Kendrick's record label should be applauded for not allowing all those album tracks to chart. If only the other record labels had the common decency to do the same!
I wonder why they let some chart in that case. How strange.
Universal seem to have been struggling the Warner syndrome lately: struggling with updating their accreditations.

Interested to see the gap between Ed and Kendrick on both charts.
My only guess is that the Kendrick songs they did keep in are the ones that were selling better on iTunes, so I guess there's some logic behind it, but it feels wrong to leave them out while there are still over a dozen Sheeran songs lingering around.
chartifacts updated and loaded.
The Cure have a song called Lady Gaga?

Oh..... That'll teach me to not believe what I think I see at first glance.
