Not liking this remake... at least they left Michael's vocals in, that's the only good thing about it.
**
The original version was cheesy and over the top but this version is so bad. The autotune! Why!! and structure is all over the place. The raps just don't work. A good cause yes but there seems to be an over the top nature to this unlike the everybody hurts track which appears more genuine and certainly more underplayed. Keeping the reasoning for the track at the forefront. That (everybody hurts) version simply gets the message across without all the over the top vocal acrobatics and blaring backing track. 80+ American millionaire artists on this hopefully all have given something as well as just asking poorer civillians to depart with hard earned cash. UK#50 and Ireland#9.

prefer the original version, although this ain't bad either

What a piece of shit. Just about the worst cover version of all time. Most of them sound dreadful, and their voices don't go together well at all. And I have no idea what Wyclef Jean thought he was doing - giving birth to a baby elephant? He sounds utterly ridiculous. Just terrible.
**
Pointless, the Original got boring fast and this is even worse
despite it sounding very similar. Why bother, really. 1.5.
**
The original is better but I'm not really a fan of either

227th best charting hit of 2010!

A huge disappointment on the classic original.

It's not that bad and they have put in a lot of effort into this song. However the rap just doesn't work as it completely ruins the calm mood of the song.

@bluezombie The reason why Wyclef Jean sounds like that is because he is Haitian and apparently that is how Haitians traditionally sing.

Overall 3*s for trying.

A dreadful version of such an iconic song. So dreadful it actually tarnishes the original. I can tolerate the rap to a certain degree but Wyclef's contribution is horrible (even if it is sung traditionally, still doesn't excuse the woefulness of it) and the autotune is disgusting. I can't believe they allowed autotuned performers to get solos over others who don;'t rely on it. And to think it starts off so well.
****
This was actually quite good (in the first few weeks), with the collaboration of many stars singing for a good cause. Never as good as the original though.

3 stars for starting out so good, nothing on the original though

here is a prime example of how to butcher a great song:
1. start off with justin bieber
2. start off the next verse with miley cyrus
3. have wyclef jean in it, then encourage him to sing
4. keep michael jackson's vocals in it in the hope that it will sell more as a result (we're not blind you dickfaces)
5. bring in prince of autotune lil wayne - just to highlight how much thought was put into this collaboration - then follow it up with the dreadful king of autotune t-pain
6. when it's all falling to shit get some rap has-been's to go all gangster up in this joint!

poor barbra streisand, janet jackson, pink and stevie wonder, it's a shame they were involved in this train wreck!

shoot the piece of junk that allowed this to be released
