This song is a hot mess for sure, but it does have potential. I like it better than I thought I would and at least she is trying something new, risky and unpredictable rather than cheap electro-pop.

Muss zugeben, dass "Run the world" die härteste Kost ist, die uns Beyoncè hier bislang auftischt. Dagegen waren die Songs "Single Ladies" u. "Video Phone" noch etwas bekömmlicher.
Dennoch gefällt mir "Run this world" nicht schlecht. Das Teil ist so herrlich daneben u. ist dadurch wieder interessant.

De afgelopen jaren zijn we geteisterd met Amerikaanse urbanmuziek gebaseerd op Eurodance uit de 90's. Ineens maakt Beyoncé echter een tijdsprong door zich voor deze plaat te baseren op dirty house van eind jaren '00. Dat is op zich een goede ontwikkeling, want misschien zijn we dan nu bijna klaar met die op Europese dancemuziek gebaseerde samples in Amerikaanse hiphop. De sample is overigens afkomstig uit "Pon de Floor" van Major Lazer, voor degenen die dat nog niet hadden gehoord. En ik vrees dat dit weinig creatieve monster een hit gaat worden. Want het is wel Beyoncé. Tsja...

Ich konnte selten was mit Beyonce anfangen (die Combo mit Sean Paul war bisjetzt auch das Einzige, was ich mir freiwillig angehört habe).
Und das zieht sich mit dem Song nahtlos weiter. Bei dem Song (wie auch dem absolut katastrophalen Single Ladies) frage ich mich, wie man sich das schmerzfrei ohne harte Drogen und Alkohol reinziehen kann.
Wenn das Genre das Einzige wäre, was die Musikwelt zu bieten hätte, würde ich mir die Kugel geben...

I will only ever write one review and it is this one. This song would have to be the worst thing ever recorded. If there was an option for 0 points it would get it.
It is a mess of sounds combined for our punishment. Remember when Lucy in the The Lucy Show would sneak her way into Ricky's band and try and play instruments and it sounded like a mess? Well that mess it 100 times better than this load of rubbish.
What a load of old shit this song is. I would rather listen to Julia Gillard ramble on for 10 hours then listen to this song one more time.
What a disappointing follow up to 3 outstanding albums. I am so annoyed at Beyonce right now. I have tried to like this song for 3 months now and each time I listen to it i get more and more angry.

This song took a while to grow on me as it's quite different. I think of it as a modern day 'Rhythm Nation' (Janet Jackson) kind of track. Perhaps its a bit heavy on the autotune in parts. 3.5*
