Great album
****
I was really really enjoying this until the last two tracks came along. I also have a version with '45 Revolutions Per Minute' which would have been four unliked tracks but alas I didn't rate those. CCR have a nice easy sound which is good and relaxing to listen to, there's nothing too hard or outrageous here, and the album contains one of their most iconic tracks 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain'. It's pretty much continues in the same vein as most of their earlier work with good singalong hooks and some nice instrumentals. Good listen. 4.4/6.
*****
This is the bands sixth album in three years and the relentlessness of being in a working band during this era (non stop touring, recording & publicity) the cracks started to show. The album still stands up well, but it's not on par with their three previous outings.

"Pagan Baby" kicks off the album with typical CCR gusto and is easily the most aggressive track and a standout. The brilliant "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" is easily the album highlight. "Hey Tonight" rocks hard, "Born To Move" swaggers... then there's the more introspective moments in "(Wish I Could) Hideaway" and "It's Just A Thought".

But amidst all this are some filler tracks that just don't hit the benchmarks that CCR created earlier in their career.

Also worth noting that this is rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty's last album with the group, he departed the band shortly after the release of this album siting musical differences.
