I don't mind it so much. I wish it all the success of a Teenage Dream track, but this doesn't move me as much as any of the other singles off TD.
Lyrically, this is weak. But the rest of it is pretty enjoyable. Good to see it enjoying strong sales worldwide.

Erste Single aus dem Teenage Dream Re-Release. Wird wohl ein weiterer grosser Hit in den USA, in Europa vielleicht nur ein kleiner à la "Last Friday Night" oder "E.T.". Guter Dance-Pop, typischer Perry-Song eben.
Übrigens zur Info: Die, die Katy Perry und ihrem Team unterstellen möchten, dass sie mit dem Re-Release den Rekord von fünf #1-Singles in den USA erweitern wollen, muss ich leider enttäuschen. Tatsächlich werden die #1-Hits des Re-Release nicht zu den #1 der regulären Platte mitgezählt.

edit: Mittlerweile finde ich den Song stark, toller Pop-Song, typisch Katy.

Slightly disappointing and a lot of frustrating. It is very same-y in regards to her previous songs of the same tempo and I am usually not a fan of a singer dissing a loved one so publicly and blantantly, and throw in she changed a lyric so the song went from being about Travie to being about Russell has made me lose a little of respect for Katy as a person, and donating profits to a charity doesn't make it better. Vocally it is on par with other Katy songs, so its not going to convert the dislikers and its not awesome enough to convince the fence sitters to support her. This is aimed solely at the converted. I'm also annoyed that this song is seeing the light of say just because she felt she had to have deluxe edition of an album that has sold millions and idn't need a deluxe edition to boost sales. |
