Noch besser als “The Fame” “The Fame Monster” und “Born This Way”…hier finde ich kein Albumfüller!

This album sounds like she was trying to make a parody out of herself. Is this the art that she was talking about? I don't understand...The woman clearly says "My Artpop could mean anything" but it means nothing at all imho. She has very little to say and the production is messy, loud and outdated so it doesn't make up for the poor lyrical content (bar 3 songs). It really looks like Gaga believes in her own hype and thinks that this album is filled with 11/10 tracks. What a deluded bitch. She needs to get over herself fast and realize how average her output is and that less is more when it comes to this type of music. Overall very lucky to get 3*.

I honestly think this album is great. I absolutely loved The Fame Monster and was disappointed when she couldn't recreate that same power with Born This Way. But this album shows a unique vision and has a great flow between the songs.

I think there are a few duds among the tracks, including Venus and the title track, but when she's at her best, she's killing it. Best tracks are Aura, Sexxx Dreams, G.U.Y., MANiCURE and my personal favourite, Gypsy.

I guess this album typifies the way that I've always felt about Lady Gaga. I've never really been interested in her, and despite the critical acclaim she seems to achieve, her songs, such as what was presented here, never really get to me. In all, it doesn't really have the features that make it stand out from any other pop album I've heard recently, particularly Katy Perry's "Prism" or Jason Derulo's "Tattoos".

Don't write of this review completely. Just because I don't like Lady Gaga as much as other reviewers on this site, and I'm not a fan of her more recent music, doesn't mean that I was going into this album negatively. Rather, I was going into it unbiased and interested in what was on offer, as I do with (most) artists' albums that I listen to.

I've never bothered to listen to a full Lady Gaga album before, but I have heard singles from this and other album beforehand, so I had a general idea of what to expect.

And what I expected is mostly what I got. There seemed to be more of an emphasis on the beats over everything else, which seems to be proven correct by Zedd's production on a couple of songs. The lyrics aren't of as good a quality as the best of her work, and she never really seems to breakout of her rut on relying on the beats to carry the song.

I'm not really complaining, as there are many artists that I enjoy this type of song with. But having heard Lady Gaga live before, and seeing her prowess with voice and piano before, I feel that these abilities are being under-utilised with these sort of generic tracks. This is probably best achieved on "Gypsy", but just doesn't quite get to its full capacity for me.

I intend to listen to the rest of her albums one day, but after having listened to this, I won't be in a rush to do so.

Also, as a side note, I've never really seen Lady Gaga without all the gimmicky get ups before. So seeing the cover for the album was quite a surprise. And I must say that it's probably the best she's ever looked. So hopefully in the future she can stay away from all this dress-up rubbish and stick to this image, but knowing her reputation, I won't be counting on it.

My highlights were "Applause" and "Gypsy".

I know that she wants to go her own way and do her thing, but this is just a mess. Where are the super hits? This is NOT the album of the year. Applause and Gypsy are the only songs here who can be worldwide hits, and they're not even close to her previous ones (Bad Romance, Poker Face, Just Dance, etc.)

After seeing some of the above reviews and what I've seen from other people on the internet I thought this wasn't going to be that good but I quite like it. It's not as good as "The Fame" or "The Fame Monster" but I like it more than "Born This Way". The highlights for me were "Applause", "Do What U Want", "Venus", "Dope", "Aura" and "Gypsy". The lowlights were "Jewels 'N' Drugs" (which is by far my least favourite on the album), "Mary Jane Holland", "Swine" and "Sexxx Dreams". Another thing I should add is that you can really tell Zedd produced some of the songs on the album.

So overall it's a solid album so I disagree with the majority.

This is just not a good album. It's mostly a mess, and while there are a few enjoyable or passable songs on here, they're mostly either ridiculous or dull. It reeks of trying way too hard, and is nowhere near as enjoyable as her earlier albums. At least hearing the whole album made me appreciate Applause and Do What U Want more, so, yay?

Wow 392! 3-4 years ago I never would have imagined the above. Anyways, the truth is, GaGa has changed so much and I honestly think she's gotten away with herself, pretending that anything she produces is the greatest thing on Earth and that if you don't like her music you're just a bully. The Fame and The Fame Monster are two of my favourite albums of all time, and I grew to enjoy most of Born This Way as well. This has absolutely no highlights. 0. The singles are decent, but they're not great and don't have any of the outstanding facets that I expect from a GaGa track. Applause as a lead was a disaster (although I grew to like it at least) and yet it's one of the best tracks on the album.

I am quite disappointed. I thought I would enjoy it more than I did but I also expected more quality which is really not that difficult considering what she has done in the past. 3.53/6 so lucky it's rounded up.

Very good album by Lady Gaga.

The Fame, The Fame Monster and Born This Way would have to be my favourite albums from Lady Gaga. But on Artpop, is DEFINITELY not my fave. I thought her music will take it throughout Born This Way but on Artpop is less popular and the electronic dance music are messy and irritating.

The only song that really stands out is Applause and I agree what alley1989 said (It was a disaster lead single to release). But out of 15, sadly this isn't what I expected. And I hate to say this but im more the old lady gaga than the new lady gaga :( :(
