It's a weird juxtaposition for me to hear him rap about a serious topic, but this is nice I think. I can't shake the feeling that he's a slight pitch modulation away from sounding like Tyler, The Creator, ha!

Really great song! Loving this one at the moment and I like that he's brave enough to talk about this. Amazing. And of course I pretty much agree with everything he says and I like that he puts his own experience into the lyrics - it really adds extra emotion and feeling to the song as a whole.

Amazing song, much better than Thrift Shop, so cool to see a rapper singing about this kinda thing. I hope this can become a hit, I feel that it's important that it does.

Brilliant track I must say, but probably just slightly behind 'Thrift Shop' for me.

Amazing message in this song, and going from a fun song to a serious one such as this shows this rapper has some variation about him.

Wouldn't it be great if this were Australia's 1000th #1???? :)
*****
This is a great song, very good message aswell.

While I admit that I am undecided on the issue discussed in this song, I really like the accompanying music to the rapping and it sounds like a much better produced The Festival Song. As for the lyrics, I appreciate Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for voicing out their stance on the issue and the rap was delivered beautifully with some very well written lyrics.
****
Something more serious than Thrift Shop. Agreed with antonnalan.

It's so bizarre that this song can come from the same person that Thrift Shop does. They both have their good qualities, neither is bad, it's just that they're so VERY far apart. Great message to the song, it's delievered very well, and more importantly, he comes across as genuine. Very nice. Thrift Shop is more fun, this is more important.
****
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I like!

I am very VERY passionate about this issue, and the fact that a song about it could chart and be a hit makes me very happy!
Well done Macklemore for speaking up in a genre which is usually very disparaging to the LGBT community.

Cool Song.

Edit: Great song, a number one for me.

Good message. Boring song.

A great track that is a very serious and stern offering from Macklemore. I would definitely prefer this over "Thrift Shop" any day in my opinion!

This has been a surprise Aussie #1. It's not too often that there's a successful political song on today's charts. Macklemore states his view fairly, and provides 'food for thought' to the listener.
I wouldn't say I love his rap, but this song on the whole is a pleasant listen.
******
A fantastic song. Heaps better than Thrift Shop which was already a good song. It contains a powerful message and is a very worthy number 1. Now I just hope people listen and try to support legalisation of same sex marriage
****
Great message, great video and fantastic lyrics, however it lacks in most other areas which ultimately causes it to fall a bit flat. Still have to score it well because I feel this is a rather significant #1 single and not something we see often.
***
A great message, and lyrics, and I like the chorus. But there is just something lacking in this that can only make me give it a 3. It's 3.5 at best.
**
The woman singing is the only okay part of this song. The rest is absolute crap.
***
I though I'd really like it because I'm gay and I feel it's important we get the message out there; it's a pleasant song but on the whole it's very unremarkable.
*****
I really like this song. It really hits the point with its lyrics + the production is great.
I love this line particulary:
"I might not be the same, but that's not important
No freedom till we're equal, damn right I support it"

I wish it became as popular as "Thrift Shop" worldwide. Rap hasn't sounded this interesting in such a long time
***
While I'm gay myself, and I feel the song is bringing some important issues to light - I can't help but feel the song is lacking something... It just doesn't flow well at all. I'm only giving it a 3 because of the message, otherwise it'd be a 1.
***
OK song but too overplayed.
*****
Very powerful message in the song about gay people, being a homo myself I can relate to this song very well

Easily the best of the three singles released so far from 'The Heist' but grew very tiresome due to over play in the media.
Extra credit given to the subject matter :-)

Peaked at #36 on my personal chart.
