Rachael's debut cd featuring 7 songs performed on ''the voice'' plus 3 others is an excercise in melodic story telling.Given the right promotion and airplay she could be a real superstar in the making.Song choice will be critical though and she needs to cash in on the ''voice's'' connection while it's still fresh in the public's mind.While her song choices are safe MOR in style,the fragility to her vibrato and the sweetness of her top range is more than appealing.Stand out tracks are her english/italian version of ''nights in white satin'' and her cover of the beegees ''words'' which was also a hit for rita coolidge.If you like smooth melodic vocals that are not in the least offensive this is the album for you.""Shooting Star'' definately is proof that she's not just ''the blind singer'' but a singer who just happens to be blind.
