It passes as decent. However I'm unhappy that this has become an instant hit. Hopefully "The Monster" can block it from going #1.

EDIT: Unfortunately "The Monster" didn't block it from #1 and I find this really dull now. Down to 2 stars.

Great track from Taylor, and is just as good as Dami's Winners Single ('Alive').

This is so similar to 'Bonfire Heart'! :P

I don't mind it. It reminds me of Phillip Phillip's "Home" for some reason however. 3.5*.

I really like this! Possibly the best song to come directly out of a Reality Singing TV Show.

I instantly loved this and it only continues to grow on me more and more. He has a fantastic voice and this is exactly the type of thing I wanted to hear from him. I now see the Bonfire Heart similarities where I didn't at first but since I love that too I don't have a problem with that. Awesome stuff, and an awesome ARIA #1.

On sound alone, this is a pretty safe folk-pop track. It's got a good pace to it which helps it along, but it just feels too predictable and repetitive for it to achieve its brief completely. 3.5

It blew my mind, this song is figuratively my Computer Security assignment! Crafted by someone who's out for some sort of accolade but without taking the proper effort to study bold ideas. Perhaps they left it to the last moment to put it together just in case he wasn't going to get through? They probably do this every year and never learn.

I feel as though the songwriters here are well aware of their lack of effort and knowledge in the area of strong songwriting. They don't want to risk any sort of alienation or worse, the possibility of people thinking they sound silly by bogging down into specific details. No, instead this seems to project virtually nothing. Some sort of love-based metaphor without background, context, character, and we're done!

It does feel somewhat strange criticising at this angle but then the problem is that there's not much else to note here. It's just musically on auto-pilot the whole way through. It starts quiet, then it kicks it up a notch, then another notch. I like a good build up but it just needs something, anything of interest! The only thing I really take out of this and notice is that the vocals are tracked oddly in parts which almost give him the 'singing through a fan' vocal effect. And there's the 'take it or leave it...' bit where he sounds disturbingly similar to Reece Mastin, which quite frankly I don't need ever.

But then I guess it meanders as safe and inoffensive because that seems to be what they (try to) run with in the X Factor camp. I just wish they could try to inject some character into it. Perhaps "E-Mail My Heart" instead?

I like this a lot. I'm genuinely surprised. His voice is good.

Quite a good song, I think I prefer this over Alive and this is better than all his performances.

Decent track despite where it came from. 3.2.

It's okay I guess.

Quite good but something is lacking. The slower parts are kind of bland, but at the same time the gentler melodies are nice. Good vocal effort.
There isn't much to fault here; this is just not that exciting for me. 3.5*

A great debut from Taylor and despite being the runner-up this song is already passing the success of Dami's 'Alive'.
****
I instantly dismissed this because he showed no talent but after a long period i've warmed to it and now immensly like it.

Dachte sofort an James Blunt!
Dieser hier gefällt mir sogar einen Ticken besser!

Not great. To be frankly honest, I actually prefer "Alive". I find this annoying and not a worthy #1.
