Kings of Leon stay atop the Australian singles chart for a fourth week with their "Sex on Fire" single. It's now the longest running No.1 single by a rock group since Silverchair's "Straight Lines" (4 weeks, March-April 2007), but still has a way to go to beat Hinder's "Lips of an Angel", which was the No.1 before The 'Chairs, spending 7 weeks at the top. Their other charting single "Use Somebody" moves up three places to No.9 this week to give them two Top 10 singles.

The biggest climber within the Top 10 jumps from No.9 to No.3, "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa, helped by a boost in both physical and digital sales (10 to 4 downloads), which causes the rest of the songs from 4 to 8 to all move down one place from last weeks positions. The other new Top 10 entry is the biggest climb within the Top 50, The Pussycat Dolls' "I Hate This Part", which jumps 10 places to No.10 to give the girl-troupe their seventh Top 10 single (out of eight releases).

The other big climbers includes Pink's "Sober", which she performed live on Australian Idol on Monday night, and the physical of this is due at the end of November, but will most likely be another Top 10 single for her next week, but it moves from 16 to 11 this week. After 3 weeks on the charts, "Alive" by Natalie Bassingthwaighte jumps up 15 places to No.24, helped by her promoting around the country, physical is out next week. But the biggest rising single is the new No.1 U.S. single, T.I. and Rihanna's "Live Your Life" which jumps 16 spots to No.25 this week.

Nickelback have not been in the Australian Top 50 since December 2006 (see below), and now after three weeks of downloads, the combined sales have helped their new single "Gotta Be Somebody" to debut at No.18 this week. It's their 10th Top 50 single since September 2001, and this is the first single from their new album "Dark Horse" which is released next week.

International DJ Ian Carey, who was here in April for the 'Climate Music Festival', jumps into the Top 50 at No.44 with his first Top 50 single "Get Shaky". He has worked on Soul Providers in the past, and is a major remixer for DeFected Records in Europe.

Pink spends a second week at No.1 in Australia with her "Funhouse" album, equaling the two weeks her "I'm Not Dead" (No.19 this week) spent the two times it reached the top. She has four possible competitors for next weeks No.1 spot, il Divo, Enya, Human Nature and Christina Aguilera, or she could create her own new record, and stay at the top for a third week.

The entire Top 4 stays stable this week, but debuting at No.5 is "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", the third in the High School Musical franchise, and the movie hasn't even hit cinema's yet, due out in Australia on December 4th. The previous two sets performed so...

25-Jun-06*HP-01*WI-29 - High School Musical (3 weeks at No.1)
23-Sep-07*HP-04*WI-23 - High School Musical 2
01-Nov-08*HP-05*WI-01*- High School Musical 3: Senior Year

With Chris Brown and Rihanna touring the country together at the moment, it has helped Chris' album climb back into the Top 10, at No.10, and its now spending it's 51st week in the Top 50. Rihanna's album is back up 2 places to No.16 too. The biggest climber of the week is Celine Dion's new set, "My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection" which climbs 12 places to No.24 this week.

The Potbelleez have their third single "Trouble, Trouble" inside the Top 100 this week, and they climb back up to No.49 with "Don't Hold Back", and now their debut album enters the Top 50 at No.17.

The fifth album for The Ten Tenors enters at No.27, "Nostalgica". It's their third Top 50 album, having reached No.8 with the two albums "Tenology" (2005) and "Here's to the Heroes" (2006).

Chris Isaak had a horse-race named after him, and is in Australia to visit the racing carnival and promote his new album, "Live in Australia", which debuts at No.29 this week. His former No.1 "Best of" also climbs back into the Top 50, at No.39 this week.

Beyonce VS Lady Gaga for next #1. I think it will happen next week somehow.

4 weeks @ #1 for KOL is a great effort.
Bulion, or anyone that knows......

If songs are purchased from the MINISTRY OF SOUND 2009 ANNUAL CD, do they count towards the singles chart?

Empire Of The Sun, The Presets & The Ting Tings could benefit from this if this is the case?

The Potbelleez song Don't Hold Back was always in the Itunes top 100 chart from the MOS 2008 ANNUAL CD.
Hello Bulion,

Will the Ministry of Sound 2009 Annual Album be released
with a bonus dvd, cause i heard that there will
be three versions??
There are 4 versions of The 2009 Annual.

ANCD2K8 - DVD/CD Pack (released 25-Oct0
MOSA089 - 2CD Set (3-Nov)
MOSSP002 - 2CD Box Set (24-Nov)
MOSSP001 - USB Edition (17-Nov)
With Beyonce, the digital version of Single Ladies is finally out (as per the release of the physical single as well). Will If I Were A Boy and Single Ladies be reported separately on the digital track chart? If so, since the physical single is combined, will be it reported as a single song on the combined singles chart? I hope it is, otherwise it'll be a bit silly.
Hello everyone!!

I went on a cd shopping spree today at JB Hifi Perth
and i bought many albums and physical singles.

I bought the "If i were a boy" physical single, $3.99
and the tracklisting is:

1.If i were a boy (album version)
2.Single Ladies (Put a ring on it)

"Single Ladies", is a b-side only track, i guess.
Who knows if a physical single will be released??

Apart from Beyonce, i also purchased the
T.I feat. Rihanna physical single, $3.99
and Christina Aguilera's "A Decade of Hits"
cd plus bonus dvd edition. It's awesome!! $24.95

i watched the dvd, and the "Dirrty" video is uncensored,
you can see the chaps and all.
"Dynamite" is rumoured to be the 2nd single off
the album.
i also purchased Leona Lewis "Spirit" deluxe edition with
bonus dvd, this is the 2nd version of the album which i bought and it is so worth it!! $21.99

I asked the staff to find me the "Lost!" cd single by Coldplay,
it hasn't arrived yet, so then i decided to buy the 4 cd's that i had, then travel to Big W.

I went to Big W Spearwood, and to my surprise, they don't
sell cd singles anymore, the Top 10 was gone, completely!!

So then i didn't leave the store empty handed, i bought
Christmas albums from Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera,
both on special $9.95, nice and cheap.
JbHifi and Kmart are the only places to find physical
cd singles in Perth.

I have my final exams tommorow, and they finish at 12:00pm, then afterwards i'm going to prepare myself for the
Rihanna and Chris Brown concert, which starts at 7:30pm,
a perfect way to have fun after a stressful two and half years
of University.

But before the concert commences, i will do some
star sightings, as rumours are going around that
Rihanna and Chris will go shopping in Perth City,
as well as a cruise on the river, they both might go to
restaurants and sightseeing with their entourage.

Rihanna and Chris have arrived in Perth, for the final show
of their tour. Despite Rihanna's health problems, the show
will go on. Tonight they might go out, i think they are staying
at Burswood hotel.
Geez Brandon, for a bloke u have an odd taste in music. I've never known a guy to buy Christmas Albums before. Enjoy the concert. Rihanna is rubbish, I've seen her before when Jay Z came out a few years back. Chris Brown is meant to be really good. You'll have to let me know what you think bout Christina Aguilera's Greatest Hits and if it's worth buying?
Hello Rhys!!

Christina Aguilera's Greatest hits cd is awesome, but
it would be even better if it had remixes.
It annoys me how there are songs missing like
"Can't hold us down, ""The Voice Within", which
were both commercially released.

There are only 10 videos, some of them i have yet to
watch like "Come on over", but there are 4
music videos missing, especially the "Lady Marmalade"
video, "Nobody wants to be lonely", The Voice Within",and
"Can't hold us down".

It's definitely a great cd for Xtina fans, and since i have her first self-titled album on cassette, it's a relief to have
those first four singles on cd after all these years.

Buying the "A Decade of Hits'"compilation is a great way to
remember the past 10 years of Christina Aguilera.
my predictions for this weeks top 20 end...

#1 Lady GaGa - Poker Face.

**NOTES** --> It was a tough choice of who was going to be placed on top. If Beyonce - If I Were A Boy & Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) are combined then she will be #1.
However Australia still does not have certain chart rules like overseas. Whereas a B Side cannot chart in the same countdown as the A Side. For this reason i placed Lady GaGa at #1. Also the B side as a new top 50 entry.
What position is "Trouble Trouble" by the potbelleez at this week?
bulion, what is the official rule on B-sides anyway?

will Single Ladies be able to chart?
heres my predicitons

New guy here, been lurking for about two months. I have been watching the charts since 1995 (how good were the sheets that had the singles and album charts listed in HMV every week, lol). Anyway, I would love to get in on this prediction game, if possible.

Oh, and Rhys, Sufjan Stevens' Christmas Album Box Set was awesome, haha. It ain't no Xtina but still, lol
Welcome Clinton. Please don't tell me ur taste in music is as bad as Brandons? Haha, jokes. I've never even heard of Sufjan Stevens so I assume it's not bubblegum pop rubbish.

Brandon, good to hear Christina's album is good. It is a shame it doesn't have those 2 songs cos both those songs go alright. Maybe America has a different version with those 2 songs on it?

How was the Chris Brown/Rihanna concert? Everyone I've heard go has raved bout Chris Brown, not as many raves about Rihanna though. I assume both will have singles re-enter the chart this coming week.

Did anyone perform on Rove or Aussie Idol this week?

I missed both.
Rihanna & Chris Brown, Perth Concert Aftermath:

Well, last night i went to the Chris Brown
and Rihanna concert, at the Burswood Dome, Perth.

It was the only concert i attended this year.
The stadium was packed, every seat was full!!
and i stood in the middle B section, it was standing
all the way to the front.
I was situated about 35 metres away from the stage,
and there was a lot of people around me.

Chris Brown appeared on stage at around
7:55pm, and he was amazing live, showcasing
his brilliant dance moves, it was awesome!!,
he can dance!!, i was very impressed.
He performed 12 songs in total. including
Run It, With You, Gimme That and Forever.

He stole the show, with his dancing skills,
he owned the stage, and there was a lot of fan interaction,
and to my surprise Chris allowed 10 fans on stage from the front moshpit area, and they all danced together to
Metro Station's "Shake It", songs by Pink and Katy Perry were also played briefly.

The fans were escorted off the stage, by 3 bodyguards.
Afterwards, Chris walked near the front row, to say hello
to the screaming fans.
A lot of fan interaction, but overall Chris put so much effort into his performances. My rating 9 out of 10.

Chris Brown's show concluded at 9:00pm.

Fans had to wait an extra 50 minutes, so that changes could be made to the stage and lighting.
Rihanna, was late on stage, just like a diva should be.
Her show commenced at 9:50pm, she was high on a platform above the stage, and opened her show with "Disturbia".

She wore a black catsuit, similar to Lady Gaga's,
with matching black boots, and a very revealing skin tight
fishnet stockings. She looked very sexy and curvy.

I was really starstruck to see her on stage, even though i was 35 metres away from the stage, it was the closest i will
ever get to Rihanna, in my lifetime i think.

Rihanna performed 12 songs, including the mega hits
Sos, Pon de Replay, Unfaithful, Don't Stop the Music
and then finished the show with "Umbrella", remixed
with "Cinderella", and was joined on stage by Chris Brown.

She thanked the crowd on several occasions, and changed
costumes 3 times. There was little interaction with
the crowd at the front near the stage, but she
was very professional on stage, and put so much effort into her performances.
At the end of the show she waved thanked the audience, waved goodbye, then fell behind the stage, Chris was laughing, then he waved goodbye and it was over.

The only thing bad about the experience, it was very squashed, a lot of people around me.
I felt trapped, and i couldn't move or wave my hands, not even dance!!
It was so overcrowded, not enough room, and it was hot.
I just wish if there was more space, next time i will get to the concert 6 hours earlier, so that i get to stand in a good spot, near the rail.

My rating 8 out of 10.
Boyzone were on Rove doing their newie, "Love You Anyway".

Chris Issac was on Idol... didn't see what he he performed.

Meanwhile, I would think that Chris Brown would put on a better show, but Rhianna has better music. Either way, I still wouldn't go to either of their gigs, but that's cos of my music preferences.
Hello Clinton,

Welcome to the forum!!

Will you be posting your predictions for Top 20 singles?

I post every week, and use this forum everyday.

Have fun!!

BeansterB, yes "Angels" by Robbie Williams did re-enter this week, the second time this year it has charted.

Since I have finished typing up all of the Top 100's for the past 8 years, I will soon make up a list of all of the older (pre 2006) titles that have re-entered the Top 100.
Hi bulion,

I'm curious but how low is Gabriella Cilmi's "Save the Lies" sitting at (if at all) in the Top 100. I thought the past week she had a physical release for the song yet she is not even on the Top 50 Physical Singles Chart.

Also I think Beanster was meaning that you must have made a mistake for the position it re-entered as you put #40, clearly it did not re-enter the Top 50. For the position you placed it in between the re-entries at #96 and #98 I assumed it re-entered at #97.

Anyway thanks for the info bulion.

Hi Gang, i just have to say this as it is frustrating me more and more...

This site is the australian charts.. i don't care what's happening in overseas charts. just here that's what makes our charts so good.
Also the amount of threads is massive and half of it is pure rubbish... i now have to sift through rubbish to find the worthwhile reading. [i try to read all posts]
Brandon i really like your input but it is never ending and just nonsense.

I just want to recap on what's happening or has happend on the australian charts.

Nate, I am with you and agree with you 100%. I do like Brandon's imput especially in the Itunes section & weekly chartifacts section because he has some great discussions and interesting comments but I think this site should be purely for the Aussie charts. There are alot of threads and I too like to read all of them but some of late have been pure rubbish. I can sort of see how all the Britney attention bugged a few people... Even I am over Britney Spears and her Womanizer and I haven't even heard it that much to really be sick of it.
ahem.... I don't think we're contributing any solice by complaining on this thread guys!!!
Bulion is the only person who can clean this thread to keep it strictly relevant to the topic.

@ Brandon
I'm sorry mate but you have posted two threads reguarding your outing to the Rihanna/Chris Brown concert!!!! Are you trying to get attention by doing this? Or is it plain ignorance?

On the topic of threads... I think we have to remember also that because there are so many more people using this site now, we wouldn't want to start restricting what can and can't be talked about! However I do believe the site could be moderated a bit better to keep topics in there certain threads.
If we ALL kept that in mind, I think we'd be going down the right path.

I think it would be a good idea, to have
a separate thread about called "General Discussion"
or "Personal CD & DVD Reviews ".

Yeah, i agree with Jack and Beanster but, the only reason
why i post my comments about my shopping trips,
and concert experiences, is because a lot of discussion happens in this thread, so that i can chat to more people.

In the Itunes, Radio Airplay and Overseas chart threads, very little discussion goes on, but is still like to post updates,
to help us out with our end of week predictions.

It's just an idea, maybe the staff or Bulion could make a new
thread please? when you are ready.

Just what we need, a new thread. I got Steffen to increase the number of "new threads" on the left margin to 10...and that was still not enough. My post was out of that list the next day after posting. The new stuff I read in the other threads was the same thing over and over from week to week.
Does anyone know what # the Potbelleez album "The Potbelleez" is at in the Dance Album Charts?

No predictions as yet from Anton, Innocent Eyes, l! and JMcN.
Metro Station should drop rapidly soon. So What might also suffer the same fate. The Kings may not be #1 again because it's been there for a while. Nickelback should remain in the Top 25, hopefully Top 20. I fear Poker Face or Beyonce will be at the top. God help us if either of them are.
God help us if Nickelback have another platinum album in australia. life must be really fulfilling watching 2 and a half men and listening to that shit.

Go Gaga.
Wow, nice one getluv.

And if it were up to me, Use Somebody would succeed Sex on Fire (neither song is the best one on the album, but meh... gotta work with they release as singles). But then again, so much would be different if it were up to me...
Overall Predictions:

1 - Poker Face - Lady GaGa
2 - Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon

3 New Entries to the Top 40 and one Re-Entry (2 Top 30 and 1 Top 20)
3 New Entries to the Top 50

Falling out of the Top 40 this week:

36 - 7 Things - Miley Cyrus
37 - White Noise - The Living End
38 - One Step at a Time - Jordin Sparks
40 - Take Back the City - Snow Patrol

When logging on, please predict which of these will be the biggest climber of the week...

Alive - Natalie Bass....
Live Your Life - T.I.
Sober - P!nk
Love Lockdown - Kanye West

**I might not be around for the first half of the countdown, so BeansterBarnes is gonna take over the reigns from me for a bit.
Hi all, I'm gonna say T.I. for biggest jump.
w00t! 7 in my first week!

Live Your Life = Biggest Climber
Love Lockdown

Live Your Life and Sober will be the new top 10s

I hope Get Shaky, Kids and Single Ladies go alright this week.
howdy all, looking forward to this weeks chart

Also congratultions to Henry for a big 10 this week

And a special mention to the new boys on the block who both got 7's in there first week
Last edited:
hey hey, and thank you... i have no idea what i got right but we shall see... hopefully something has come from nowhere and kept "poker face" outta the top spot but, alas... i do not think this has happened
Here we go guys & girls!!!!

40 down 5 from 35 - I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry

* Possibly the last week in the Top 40 for this former No.1 single. Her new single is "One of the Boys", and was released to radio this week.
The faster society is over Katy Perry, the better. I really don't get it (apart from I Kissed A Girl, the attraction to that song is obvious).
39 and not moving

38 - Kids - MGMT

* This song was on the chart for a single week back in mid-October, coming in at No.40. Now the third single from their "Oracular Spectacular" climbs back into the 40 at No.38, with the CD Single being released next week
Hi all,
Looks to be another good chart, T.I. and Rihanna for biggest mover. Closely followed by Nat Bass.
1st of 3 NEW ENTRIES

37 - Rehab - Rihanna

* Single NUMBER 8 from her former No.2 album "Good Girl Gone Bad" (which is at No.16 this week).

* Rihanna and Chris Brown's national tour ended in Perth this past week.

36 down 3 from 33 - Black and Gold - Sam Sparro

35 down 6 from 29 - My People - The Presets
34 down 2 from 32 - Cry for You - September

* September's self-titled album is out this weekend.
33 down 3 from 30 - Superhuman - Chris Brown feat Keri Hilson

32 down 1 from 31 - Forever - Chris Brown

* They were also back-to-back on the charts last week, and with him leaving the country this past week after finishing his national tour with Rihanna, both of these songs could drop again next week.

* The album "Exclusive" is down to No.13 from No.10.
2nd of 3 NEW ENTRIES

31 - Get Shaky - Ian Carey Project

* Debut Top 40 single in Australia for DJ/Remixer/Producer Ian Carey, who has worked for Defected Records in Europe, and written and produced tracks for dance act Soul Providers.

30 up 4 from 34 - Love Lockdown - Kanye West

* His new album 808's & Heartbreaks will be out next week.
29 down 2 from 27 - Closer - Ne-Yo

* Expect to hear Ne-Yo's new single "Miss Independent" in the charts next week, as it debuted just outside the Top 40 this week!
28 not moving from 28 - Keeps Gettin' Better - Christina Aguilera

* Her Greatest Hits Collection, also called "Keeps Gettin' Better" debuts at No.8 this week!
BIGGEST DROPPER - Down 10 Places

27 down 10 from 17 - Shake it - Metro Station

* Next single "17 Forever" is released at the end of November.
26 down 3 from 23 - Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiv Me
I was gone for a while. I come back to see Get Shaky, Kids, and Love Lockdown are moving up! Awesome! Too bad Rhianna has yet another boring song enter the charts. And it is soooo tasty to see Shake It finally get it's butt whipped!
25 down 5 from 20 - Kid Rock - All Summer Long
yeah, i'm happy both. Shake It & All Summer Long are moving down the charts finally
Also, yeouch for Brandon's prediction of #1 for Christina's "Greatest" Hits.
Oouch in general for Christina

Quite surprised with her charting efforts with Keeps Gettin' Better.
So it looks like Beyonce "Single Ladies" does not enter the Top 40 as the B-Side single to "If I Were a Boy". Unless it enters outside the Top 40.
I can tell you that 'Single Ladies' did not enter the TOP 50
Oh No!

Single Ladies is easily the Beyonce track since Crazy In Love.

24 - Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolf feat Lil' Wayne

* Mixing rock-riffs and dance-beats together, this is the first Top 40 single for this Miami, Florida native, who has been making music since the age of 12, and now calls New York City his home.
Niiice... I am becoming a fan of Lil Wayne after this and his appearance on one of Kanye's new tracks.
Hi all, sorry I am late. Great chart so far. I still think T.I. & Rihanna will be the biggest climber this week.

Good to see Let It Rock in the countdown, I'm liking that song atm.
23 up 3 from 26 - Fall Out Boy - I Don't Care

I thought this would've been TOP 15 at least by now
I think Beyonce might not be entering due to the chart rules. Because "If I Were a Boy" is classified as the lead track, therefore "Single Ladies" is a B-Side single and ineligible to chart on its own. We will see it enter the Digital Top 40 I suspect. Mind you it could be because Sony are not including the track as well.
Yeah, same to be honest.

Also, I think Presets will swap with Empire of the Sun for the next two tracks.
I am so over this Fall Out Boy song.
Maybe Bulion can shed some light on that matter once he gets back, hopefully in time before we get into the TOP 20.
I like this Fall Out Boy song. I hope to see it go top 20. I don't see it going much higher but every week it rises so you never know.
22 down 1 from 21 - Talk Like That - The Presets

* This single is down one place, as too is their album "Apocalypto", which is down to No.5 this week.
FOB will do much better is they release Headfirst Slide as their next single.
Single Ladies is charting Top 40 on the download charts, it's up to Sony-BMG to make it a double a-side, which I will mention to them this week.

Brandon, in regards to your album predictions, NONE of them are right, but some are only one number off.

BeansterB will be filling in the gaps for the rest of the countdown, I'll just provide the correct prediction information after he posts the song info, as I am in and out all day.
I was hoping this would go back into the top 20. Bummer
I can't believe they are releasing Kicking + Screaming before If I Know You or Yippi-yo.
21 down 2 from 19 - Fall for You - Secondhand Serenade

Probly my favourite track in the charts at the moment. The film clip is awesome aswell
Bummer seeing Secondhand Serenade fall out of the top 20 but good to see Empire Of The Sun score a new peak in the top 20.
Oh no, I had this moving up to 12!

As for the song, I think it sounds like Dashboard Confessional-lite... but that is still a good thing.
20 up 2 from 22 - Walking on a Dream - Empire of the Sun

* After 11 weeks on the charts, Empire of the Sun now can claim their first Top 20 single, as "Walking on a Dream" climbs up 2 places.
This is one of the songs like Sex On Fire or Electric Feel where I can't understand the appeal.
Really? This is one of few songs in the Top 20 that I actually like, lol!
Clint, Dottie, Josh and Grogsta got No.20 right
19 down 5 from 14 - The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name

*Look out for there new single 'Shut Up And Let Me Go'
It's a shame to see THATS NOT MY NAME dropping so fast. Just 2 weeks ago it was in the top 10!
Rebecca was the only one to get No.19 correct
It peaked too late to make an impact, that's what happens when the songs these days are held back too long
The other problem is that it has been around forever, starting on Triple J about half a year ago.
Hello everyone!!!

So which artist is at No.1 on the albums chart?
They haven't said yet, but I would think Pink is a lock on the #1.
I'm guessing P!nk would still have the #1 album, her album has been selling huge numbers.
18 down 2 from 16 - Disturbia - Rihanna
BeansterBarnes and Rhys got No.18 (Disturbia) correct this week.

P.S., the highest new entry to the album charts is at No.6, and it's between Christina, Enya and il Divo
Hello Clinton!

thankyou, and will you be posting you best songs of 2008?
it's fun, and i will be posting my Top 80 singles of 2008

Plus, i have made my Personal Best Top 50 Albums of the year, and Top 50 Best Music Videos, which i will post later on
in the week.
Speaking about Triple J how many songs are in the chart?
Speaking about Triple J how many songs are in the chart?
Well, Christina is #8, so my vote would be for Il Divo (grrr!).

As for posting my favourites of the year, long story, will write it in the thread.

And Stefan, I don't understand your question.
Only Stampy got No.17 right.

This single might not climb any higher as the album is out this week. Do other feel the same way?
17 up 1 from 18 - Gotta Be Somebody - Nickelback

* Their new album "Dark Horse" is out this weekend.

I love this track and wished it was charted earlier.
Nickelback will definately have another multi platinum album on there hands if this is any example of the material that'll be on it

Last edited:
Gosh I hate Nickelback
I think the song will rise next week.

This, of course, is not a good thing, as I would destroy this band in so many ways if I had the chance.
Only Henry got No.16 right.

Such as Kings Of Leon, MGMT, Empire Of The Sun etc come from Triple J so they bring it to the Mainstream charts from Nova, we need more songs from Triple J to NOVA
Christina Aguilera's "Keeps Gettin Better" is a strong contender for No.1 On My Personal Best Songs of 2008.

The performance at the VMA's, has really impressed me.
hi everyone,
T.I. and Rihanna will be the biggest mover and inside top 10.
i couldn’t believe i got 10 this week and won second week in row..did not expect that.
Looking at my prediction so far, i still haven't got right 1 yet.

Is that mean i got most correct inside top 10?
I rate Nickelback and am glad to see their single rise (even if it is only one spot). Hope it continues to do so.

What is this 50 Cent rubbish? I really hope this isn't as hit!
Good to see Electric Feel keeping it's staying power. Sure, it should have been #1 but, like The Ting Tings, it has been around for about a year now.

As for bands that were on the Js before hitting the mainstream see: KoL, MGMT, EotS, Presets, Ting Tings, Dizzee Rascal, Kanye, Snow Patrol, The Living End...
16 down 1 from 15 - Electric Feel - MGMT
T.I & Rihanna, is the biggest mover of the week,
peaking inside the Top 10, i hope.
No one got No.15 correct.

15 up 9 from 24 - Alive - Natalie Bassingthwaighte

* The CD Single for this one is out in stores NOW, so expect it to climb again next week.
This Natalie Bassing.... song is crap.
I concur. But the only good song she has ever had a hand in is Voodoo Child.
Whoops!, I thought "Alive" was available as a CD single last week, ahh well. My bad.
14 down 2 from 12 - Just Dance - Lady GaGa

* Her album "The Fame" is re-issued and re-packaged this week.

* Could she also help create new chart-history this week by climbing to the top of the charts?
Only BeansterB got his Dance right at No.14 this week.
Nat Bass, has done extremely well, rising to No.15,
she will have successful solo career, Well done Nat!
Staying at No.13 for a third week, BlueZombie, Henry, Clint, Brandon, Rhys and BillB got this one right.
13 and not moving anywhere this week

T.I - Whatever You Like

*Where will 'Live Your Life' land
12 down 4 from 8 - I'm Yours - Jason Mraz

* After 14 weeks in the Top 10
BlueZombie, Henry, BeansterB, Colin, Qwerty and Grogsta got No.12 right this week.

My prediction was correct,
"Whatever U Like" stalled at it's No.13 peak
11 down 1 from 10 - I Hate This Part - The Pussycat Dolls
Martin and Brandon predicted No.11 correctly. I didn't think it would fall back one place, but it has.

Hey Bulion, how did "Forgive Me" chart, within the Top 50 singles and Physical singles chart?
Wow, I thought was movin on up... so, now, how did I get 5 of the top 10 right? Hmmm...
Clinton and Grogsta got this one right at No.10

10 up 15 from 25 - Live Your Life - T.I. feat Rihanna

* Leapfrogging over his No.13 single "Whatever You Like", the second single from T.I.'s "Paper Trails" album gives him his first SOLO Top 10 single, although he did appear as guest vocalist on Justin Timberlake's No.3 single from Nov.2006 "My Love".

* This single is at No.1 for a third week in the US, and is currently Top 5 in Ireland, Canada and New Zealand.

I hate this song, and the song it samples
I like it more than Whatever You Like... what song does it sample?
what song do you think it samples StampyPorter.

"Forgive Me" by Leona Lewis fell out of the Top 50 this week Brandon. I won't know physical until after 6:30
It samples a song called MA YA HI (or something similar) by some European band called O-Zone. Youtube it, its truly terrible
From wiki: The song contains a sample of O-Zone's Dragostea din Tei, mostly known in the United States for the Numa Numa Internet fad.

I am unaware of this song.
is the Coldplay physical single "Lost" going
to be released tommorow?
9 up 2 from 11 - Sober - Pink

* "Funhouse" stays at No.1 for a third week, giving Pink her longest running No.1 album in Australia.

* This also becomes her 14th (out of 18) Top 10 single.
Henry, Clint, Colin, Rebecca and Grogsta got No.9 right this week.

1 (1) - Funhouse - P!nk
2 (3) - Only By the Night - Kings of Leon
3 (2) - Black Ice - AC/DC
4 (5) - High School Musical 3 - Soundtrack
5 (4) - Apocalypto - The Presets
6 (Ne)- The Promise - il Divo
7 (Ne)- And Winter Came... - Enya
8 (Ne)- Keeps Gettin' Better: A decade of Hits - Christina Aguilera
9 (7) - The Fame - Lady GaGa
10 (8)- Gurrumul - Geoffrey Yunupingu
Hi all, just finished work. 7 in my first week! Awesome. Happy with that. Thanks to everyone for the welcomes.

Not a huge fan of Sober yet, but it's growing on me.
Coldplay's "Lost" was due for release this past week.

Good to see KoL moving back up to #2 and Gurrumul still sitting pretty in the Top 10.

As for Sober... well, it's got to be better than So What, right?!?!?
yeah, i know, but W.A stores don't have it yet
8 down 1 from 7 - Hot N' Cold - Katy Perry

* If you've been wanting to buy this as a CD Single, it will finally be released next week.

* Her next single is her album's title track, "One of the Boys".

No.8: Henry, NateBoi, Rebecca and Grosgta got it right.

BZ, which state are you from?
are you serious? its finally getting released? A little too late I believe
Will Hot N Cold reach a new peak with a physical release? What are everyone's thoughts?

Personally, I can't stand the song, and hope the fade continues.
I'm from Vic, bulion.
No.7: BZ, Henry, Clint, Josh and Rebecca got it right.

next up is the second least predicted Top 10 song. (only 2 correct)

7 down 1 from 6 - Womanizer - Britney Spears

* It doesn't look like Britney's lastest single was able to climb higher than No.5!
That sucks! I really would of loved to see this go higher. Piece of Me and Gimme More did better, and she wasn't even trying then.
Clinton, I don't think Hot N Cold will reach a new peak with the physical. It'll probably hover in the lower end of the 10 for a bit, but won't go higher than it's peak of 4.
No.6: Henry and Josh were the only ones to get this here at No.6.

10 acts in the Top 50 with two singles this week, and then there's Rihanna who appears on three.
6 up 3 from 9 - Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

* "Only By the Night" climbs back up to No.2 this week, but can they make it 5 weeks at No.1 with "Sex on Fire"?
GRRR. I hate this band. Am I the only one that thinks they are overrated?
Yes... lol, but I can understand why you think that. I love "Closer", the opening track off their album. It will not be a contender as a single, though.
I wouldn't say over rated but 2 TOP 10 singles is a bit much in my opinion.
No.5, BlueZombie (BZ), BeansterB and Brandon all got this right.

Next up, only one person got No.4 right this week...
5 down 3 from 2 - So What - Pink

* "So What" has now spent 13 weeks inside the Top 5, and has landed at every position within the Top 5.
Hey, I had So What at #5 too! lol
4 up 1 from 5 - Running Back - Jessica Mauboy

* Her new single "Burn" is available to download from Monday, and can be brought as a CD Single at the end of the month.

* Her debut album "Been Waiting" is out next weekend.
Sorry Clinton you did too. You also got No.4 right, the only person to do so.

We know BZ is from Vic, whereabouts do you come from Clinton?

Kings of Leon, two singles in the Top 10, wow!
The lyrics in the song "Sex on a fire", make no sense.
Fire and sex, bad combination, someone might get burnt.

Then, "Use Someone", is that song related to people who
use other people?
NSW here. Thinking how did Jessica Mauboy manage to make such an American sounding song?
Jessica Mauboy might enter the U.S Market, with the help
of Flo Rida.
3 up 1 from 4 - If I Were a Boy - Beyonce

* Her third album "I Am... Sasha Fierce" is out this weekend. She named it after what she calls her on-stage persona.
Dido's news single "Don't Believe In Love" hasn't
been released on Itunes yet? or has it?
I'm confused. How did I get 3 right? Looking at it, I'd probably only supposed to get 2 right.
You did only get 2 right stampyporter by my calculations too
No.3: BZ, Henry, BeansterB, Josh, Dottie, Rhys, Grogsta and Chri8topher got this one right.

The second highest correct prediction is next...
2 down 1 from 1 - Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon

* The only ROCK Group this year to land a No.1 single, falls from the top after 4 glorious sex-fuelled weeks.
And, hey, I got 8 right, not 7... yay!!!!

Anyway, gtg, had fun, bbl.
GOOD. As much as I don't like the new #1, its much better than this

Sorry, stampy, I was in a rush this week with guests arriving while doing calculations. You did only get 2 right.

No.2: BZ, henry, Josh, Dottie, Qwerty, Martin, Rhys, Grogsta, Chri8 and BillB got this one right.
You're right, dont apologise! Shouldnt of said anything lol, 3 sounds much better than 2 lol
1 up 2 from 3 - Poker Face - Lady GaGa

* Lady GaGa becomes the only act during 2008 to have 2 No.1 singles.

* And by climbing to No.1, she helps break a 35 year-old chart feat. This is now the 34rd week of this year that a female performer has held on to the top of the charts, beating the 1973 record of 33 weeks.
That's one-hell of a lady (gaga).

No.1: It's easier to say who didn't get this one right, as 15 out of 17 people got it correct. BeansterB and Qwerty did NOT get this correct.

Wow i didn't expect 7 out of 10 inside top 10 of my prediction, if i only swapped jess and pink i could've got 9 of of 10.hehe..

Its a great chart this week...cath you all next week..
Wow thats cool, breaking those 2 records
I don't mind Sex On Fire, but it had a good run on top, I'm happy to see Poker Face there. After annoying me at first, it's catchiness has made me like it.
Well that's it guys n gals.
Great chart this week, thanks for your input & conversations.
Also would like to give an extended thank you to Bulion for supllying the chartifacts & chart positions.
Keep up the great work Bulion on my #1 website

awesome show today!!

Lady Gaga is at No.1, what a relief!
So much success for Gaga, well done,
she will have a long and successful career.
HI. Listened to the show today.
At least Nickelback went up, even though it was only 1 spot.
I knew Metro Station would drop Big.
Blow Lady Gagas CD's. Poker Face gave me an ear infection.
I meant Blow UP her CD's.
