Why did Musical Youth chart so low after spending 3 weeks at number one? It's funny how some of the songs in the lower end of the chart get played more today than ones that finished higher at the end of the year? I don't know what deems a song a 'classic'? I haven't heard "Down On The Border" by Little River Band on the radio in a long time (unless I specifically play it on my ipod), yet I hear "Let's Groove" and "Freeze Frame" quite often.
And wow, one of Dr Hook's classics, "Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk"! One of my favourites with "Sexy Eyes", another song you never hear on the radio at all today. "Shy Boy" by Bananarama doesn't get played much either, and "For Your Eyes Only", one of my favourite Bond themes, another lost classic. Did Quarterflash chart with their follow up, "Take Me To Heart"? That's another one of my favourites... and also great to see Melissa Manchester up there!
Thanks for posting this Bulion, brings back a lot of good memories. I was just a young woman fresh out of high school in 1982, but I remember the music well!
Are you copying the above information from the Australian Chart Books? If you are isn't that some kind of copyright? I think what we need to is piece individual chart postions and update australian charts like it currently is as far back as we can go...! That we can look at a glance how a song went..
Nate, I am NOT copying this information from the Australian Chart Book. You will notice that a lot of (R) Re-Entries are listed, something which is not done in that book. This information is from the charts for The Kent/Australian Music Reports, and is gleamed from all of the information for the songs that appeared in the Top 100. I might have already sent you these files in the past, and that is where I am taking that info from.
I know no1 has posted on here in ages, but could someone tell me the chart peaks of "Love Side" by Marcia Hines (it may actually be called "Love Sides"), and "Mickey" and "Nobody" both by Toni Basil? Last edited:

bulion, the reason wikipedia doesn't have anything for "Love Sides" is because I added it, as I have been upgrading the discography section, and for some reason "Love Sides" and the singles had been completely looked over. So that's why i want to now its peak.
