Hi all!

Great idea for the thread section!

Let's get on with it, a lot to get through. Crazy week for me, I've been in Lorne for the weekend and that's why today's chart may seem a little later than usual. (BTW, for any non-Aussies, Lorne is on the coast in Victoria near Melb)

In the chart this week, Dirtee Cash remains on top with Friendly Fires having 2 songs enter the top 5, with Skeleton Boy and White Diamonds. Kiss of Life has jumped to No.2, and all of its 8 weeks spent in my chart it has been in the top 3!

Two songs from last week's top 5, Soldier and The Fixer, slip to 6th and 7th respectively. The only new entry into the top 20 is Horchata by Vampire Weekend. Grizzly Bear re-enter the charts with Ready, Able at No.20, while D'Opus & Roshambo have a big week with The Basement moving back into the top 20 and a remix of it debuting at no.45.

Gonna See My Friend by Pearl Jam debuts at No.38, and this marks a significant milestone for Pearl Jam. All 11 songs have charted in the Hot 100, with all but Unthought Known in this week, as Unthought Known left on the 4/1 chart. Also a big jump for Sydney indie rock band The Snowdroppers, with their no.8 hit Rosemary jumping from no.54 to no.24.

At the bottom end of the chart, Eskimo Joe hanging on by a thread with their 2 biggest hits in the bottom 10 of the top 100. A lot of Jet down the bottom, with most of these Eskimo Joe/Jet songs a lot higher in Liam's top 50. The Dead Weather enter with their 2nd song on my chart to date, with Treat Me Like Your Mother in at No.88. A veteran leaves this week, with Bulletproof slipping over 30 spots to leave. Also leaving are Muse, Hilltop Hoods and Queensland indie band The Boat People.

In the vintage chart, Pearl Jam hit top spot with Yield track Do The Evolution, and other newly-entering songs from Vampire Weekend and Hoodoo Gurus. Meanwhile, Oasis are amongst the leavers this week. Dizzee Rascal enjoys his album's 2nd consecutive no.1 on the albums chart, with Tongue N Cheek dominating the pack. New entering albums from Vampire Weekend and Kaiser Chiefs. In the Aussie chart, Yves Klein Blue top the chart again, with Fader leaving and The Basement (Karton Radio Mix) entering.

Hello everybody!

A new no.1 this week, and the first time since Kiss of Life last year that a song debuts at no.1. And its Vampire Weekend's 'Giving Up The Gun', a brilliant track off their new album Contra, which has peaked at no.2 in Australia and is at no.1 in the Billboard Albums Chart. Dirtee Cash slips to no.2, whilst former-no.1 Percussion Gun re-enters the top 10. Big debut for Gossip with Love Long Distance at no.5, and Franz/La Roux's live collaboration of Call Me has slipped to no.4.

Along with the momentum of Giving Up The Gun, Cousins has re-entered the top 10 at no.10 after spending last week at no.53. Ready, Able by Grizzly Bear jumps to no.11 and a top 10 position for it is likely. Horchata, The Fixer and Holiday slip out of the top 10 whilst The Snowdroppers re-enter the top 20 and Lily Allen's Who'd Have Known jumps to no.20. Other debuts from The Temper Trap (Science of Fear) and Grizzly Bear (Cheerleader) have made the top 50, whilst Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks has debuted at no.52. Hopefully it last longer than its title in the chart.

Lifter500 will be glad that Don't Let Me Down hangs on for another week, and it actually rises to no.88. Unfortunately, Foreign Land did leave along with Parlez Vous Francais? by Art vs Science, 21st Century Breakdown by Green Day and Comeback by Grinspoon.

In the Vintage Chart, The Fratellis' iPod commercial hit Flathead tops the chart with Do The Evolution down to no.2. Tei! Tei! Tei! by Japanese band Polysics leaves, whilst Navy Wives by White Rabbits enters at no.6.

In the Albums Chart, another new no.1 with It's Frightening by White Rabbits, whilst Tongue N Cheek moves to no.2. Grinspoon's Six to Midnight returns whilst Kaiser Chiefs' Employment leaves. Contra by Vampire Weekend is at no.3 and is likely to top next week.

In the Australian Chart, the only steady no.1 this week is Soldier by Yves Klein Blue. Three consecutive weeks at no.1 is an all-time record for all 4 charts. The Temper Trap and Empire of the Sun debut whilst The Presets and Yves Klein Blue (Getting Wise) are amongst the casualties. In the Australian Chart, I actually also include songs from New Zealand artists which is why Between the Lines by Evermore has been there for three weeks.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 25/1/10

Good to see Two Weeks & Science of Fear debut. Loving Flathead at the top of the vintage chart as well

Hi all!

Another week, another week at no.1 for Kiss of Life. This its 4th week at no.1 (and I have done 12 charts thus far). Skeleton Boy is at a new peak, no.2. Mumford & Sons' second single, Winter Winds, debuts at no.7. The Wave Machines, Kid Cudi/MGMT/Ratatat and Jet also have debuts in the top 20. A new feature this week, a triangle (▲) is placed for any song gone 'platinum' in my Hot 100. For a song to earn a triangle, it must peak or have peaked in the top 10, and to have been in the charts for at least 10 total weeks. One ▲ is given for 10 weeks, ▲2 for 30, ▲3 for 50, ▲4 for 75 and ▲5 for 100 (it probably won't happen, but ▲5 is there just in case).

This week is also significant for another reason. As you already may know, my music taste is not as mainstream as others. As a result, no Beyonce song has ever charted. However, this has changed this week with Halo coming in at #99! Other songs debuting are Port O'Brien's 'I Woke Up Today' (from that Dulux ad), D'Opus & Roshambo's 'Voyage' and The Bloody Beetroots featuring Steve Aoki with 'Warp', coming in at #48.

Cousins by Vampire Weekend is very close to a top 5 spot next week, and Percussion Gun jumps into the top 5 and is a likely no.1 for anytime in the next month or so! Last week's no.1 Giving Up The Gun slips to no.3, but Dirtee Cash slips 8 spots to no.10. Ready, Able by Grizzly Bear continues its dream run, debuting in the top 10 at no.9. Uprising by Muse, which left at the start of January, returns at no.15, its new peak! Also, big jumps from artists doing well up the top of the chart: White Rabbits (Rudie Fails), Muse (Resistance) and Vampire Weekend (White Sky). Little Lion Man hangs on at no.100, whilst Eskimo Joe songs Don't Let Me Down and Childhood Behaviour slip 2 spots each into the bottom 11 songs of the chart. Losing Friends Over Love and New Fang are amongst the leavers this week.

In the vintage chart, Flathead by The Fratellis remains on top whilst Navy Wives jumps to no.2. In the albums chart, Contra goes to no.1 and Pearl Jam's legendary album Ten debuts at no.10 (fitting, huh, but it deserves higher!) In the Australian chat, Yves Klein Blue's Soldier celebrates its 4th consecutive week at no.1 whilst Beat on Repeat breathes down its neck at no.2. The sole New Zealand song to chart in the Australian chart, Between the Lines by Evermore, leaves this week.

Except for the Vampire Weekend song which I haven't heard I like every song in your top ten. Good to see Pursuit of Happiness debut high as well.

Nice to see Halo debut. From the Vintage Chart, I love your number one. It made my top 200 of the decade and was numebr one on my chart for two weeks in 2007, making number 18 of the year. Also good to see Invincible and Starlight, my second and third favourite songs from Muse.

Good to see you are not afraid to chart album tracks, big plus I say. Giving up the gun is a great Vampire Weekend song, but my fav on Contra is White Sky which I see is #49, I will chart White Sky in a few weeks once the lead track Cousins has a few weeks on it. Good chart, lots of good bands.

I like the platinum inclusions! I remember when i used to write my chart in a book i used to have platinum's but it was more on how much i liked a song. so songs that have peaked at number two but were behind a song which i liked heaps could get recognition. but at least for you it will allow us to see how long a song has charted. 75w is huge for retirement, i think for me only one song has done that - alicia keys - no one.

mine is a top 100 remember, so I thought that maybe some songs can get to 75 weeks. We'll just have to see I guess.

This week sees Kiss of Life with its 5th week at no.1. Mumford & Sons and Kisschasy enter the top 5, with the latter entering the top 100 for the first week altogether. Skeleton Boy slips to no.5, whilst Percussion Gun remains steady.

A massive chart this week, with 10 songs leaving this week from some big-name artists including Pearl Jam, Beyonce and The Temper Trap. Also, Eskimo Joe single Don't Let Me Down ends its 11-week run in the chart, a few weeks after jumping from a precarious no.100 to no.88. Massive jumps from Grinspoon, Grizzly Bear and OK Go.

A new no.1 as well, with Irish indie group Two Door Cinema Club with I Can Talk. Check it out, people. Fantastic song. Anyway, Kiss of Life falls to no.3 but it is still in its 12th straight week in the top 3. Generation Why slips to no.6, and Lily Allen moves into the top 10 with Not Fair. Also, big debuts from OK Go, Lily Allen (The Fear), Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons (The Cave), The Model School and Evermore.

In the Vintage Chart, Kasabian debut at no.1 with Empire, whilst Shoot the Runner debuts at no.3 - leaving last weeks no.1 Do You Realize?? slipping to no.2. In the Albums Chart, Contra by Vampire Weekend moves back to no.1 after spending last week at no.2. Also, Grizzly Bear and Mumford & Sons debut in the top 10 after I bought both albums on Saturday. IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 15/2/10

I actually do like that Two Door Cinema Club song, and I'll probably chart OK Go's new one next week. Also liking entries for Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons, and Kasabian.

Too many rocky songs I dislike
But great to see Lily Allen, Gossip, Midnight Beast, Evermore, and a few others in there...

Hi everyone!

Two Door Cinema Club with their second week at no.1, with I Can Talk. Percussion Gun was soooooooooooo close, but it just missed out. Grinspoon make a big claim for the top spot, with their third single Summer at no.3. My fav band Franz Ferdinand debuts at no.5 with Lobster Quadrille, a song from the Alice in Wonderland film coming out soon (or its out now, no idea!?!).

Lily Allen and Grizzly Bear with big weeks again, with Who'd Have Known, Not Fair, While You Wait For The Others and Ready, Able all in the top 10. Their only casualty between them was Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear, which falls to no.14. Passion Pit with another high debut at no.12, and Dizzee Rascal, Michael Buble and Franz Ferdinand are amongst the leavers this week.

In the vintage chart, Empire by Kasabian remains at no.1. I love it, its chorus is soooooo addictive (ok enough sooooooooo's for today ). Meanwhile, Grizzly Bear knock Vampire Weekend off the top of the albums chart and Grinspoon remain on top of the Aussie chart.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 22/2/10

As much as I love seeing Irelanders at the top of your chart (that was bad even by my standards), I found out that TDCC are from Northern Ireland which is part of the UK. Anyway on to the chart, Good to see Passion Pit debut so highly, very surprised at the Beyonce debut as I thought Halo was the only song of hers you liked.

beyonce is doing well considering all things this week isnt she :-)!

Three weeks at no.1 for TDCC, whilst Lily Allen jumps into the top 5 with Who'd Have Known. Summer makes another claim for top spot, but ends up at no.2. Poor old Percussion Gun falls to no.11, and big debuts from Deep Sea Arcade, Lily Allen and Flight of the Conchords this week as well. Grizzly Bear's Cheerleader hangs on, but veterans All of the Dreamers and Sexy Bitch weren't so lucky.

Before I start babbling on about my charts this week, I just want to fill you in on my Top 1000 Songs of All Time. The countdown will start on Friday 19th of March (all times Australian EST), and the approximate schedule (subject to change) is:

This will be very interesting for me, I personally can't wait. The next few weeks of compiling lists upon lists of music will be interesting.


Anyway, for this week, Two Door Cinema Club enjoy their 4th consecutive week at no.1 with I Can Talk - this is a record. However, if they get to no.1 next week they will tie the all-time record with Kiss of Life. Meanwhile, Lily Allen jumps to no.2 with Who'd Have Known at the expense of Summer, which moves to no.3.

Grizzly Bear kick Franz Ferdinand out of the top 5 with Ready, Able at no.4. Other big jumps comee from The Model School, Deep Sea Arcade, Muse (Resistance) and 2 Grizzly Bear songs (Cheerleader and Two Weeks). A big week for Aussies, with Operator Please, Yves Klein Blue and Kisschasy all with newly-released singles debuting in the top 50. Also, Jet and Temper Trap enter in the top 100.

Empire of the Sun are hanging on at no.100 with platinum-accredited Without You spending its 13th week in the bottom spot. Beyonce leaves the top 100 with Sweet Dreams, and Jet, Kasabian, Powderfinger and Vampire Weekend are others leaving this week. Dananananaykroyd, Kasabian and Sarah Blasko are close to charting, but debuts for next week aren't certain.

Empire by Kasabian hangs on for another week at the top of the Vintage chart, with Pearl Jam, Muse and Operator Please debuting. Grizzly Bear spend its 2nd week at no.1 on the Albums chart, whilst Franz Ferdinand remix album Blood debuts in at no.10. I made a mistake on the Aussie chart last week, thus 6 songs enter. Oh well, Grinspoon remain at no.1 again. We're all human.

Top thousand should be good. As for the chart, it's good to see Deep Sea Arcade make the top ten with a song I regretably DNC. Good strong jump for Grizzly Bear (Two Weeks) and Muse (Resistance). Good debuts for Operator Please & Temper Trap as well. Great to see Assassin on the Vintage chart.

Two Door Cinema Club's massive run at no.1 has ended, with I Can Talk slipping to no.2. Lily Allen had a big chance of going to top spot, but ended up slipping to no.3! Instead, Australian indie rock band The Model School go to no.1 with their long-name song 'It's Hard To Dance When Your Legs Are On Fire'. Check it out on youtube or in the 'Play It Or Trash It' section, very cool film clip and a nice song. Friendly Fires jump to no.4 with Kiss of Life, which has spent all 16 weeks in the top 5. It's run so far is:

It has had an amazing run, but it deserves it. By far my favourite song of the summer. I bought the Two Door Cinema Club album on Saturday and I love it. As a result, Undercover Martyn jumps to no.9 and their other single Something Good Can Work enters at no.7. The Model School also become the 1st ever Australian no.1 out of my 18 weeks of the Irelander's Hot 100. Deep Sea Arcade might become the 2nd within weeks, as Lonely In Your Arms continues to rise - jumping into the top 5 this week. Jay-Z, Two Door Cinema Club, MGMT and Hoodoo Gurus are the debuts this week.

Pearl Jam knock Kasabian off the top spot in the Vintage Chart, with Black now in its first week at no.1. Two Door Cinema Club make up for I Can Talk slipping by having its album debut at no.1. Tourist History knocks Grizzly Bear off the top, whilst Evermore's new self-titled greatest hits album debuts at no.9.

And don't forget my top 1000 songs starting this Friday.

Friendly Fires out of the top 5 Nice jump for Passion Pit and great to see British India debut. Hopefully Vanilla can get through as well. Even though it's not exactly my favourite, I kinda want to see Guiding Light debut so together we'll have charted the whole album.

Not much esle to say about the chart since I dont know much of the songs in it. Oh well

Massive week for Two Door Cinema Club, with What You Know jumping to no.1. Also, TDCC equal the record for the most songs in the top 10: 5. White Rabbits have had 5 as well back in 2009. Deep Sea Arcade and The Model School make claims for top spot, both moving a spot each to be in numbers 2 and 4 respectively. Lily Allen tumbles to no.6 with last week's no.1 Who'd Have Known; and a weird list of entries this week, with Passion Pit, British India, Rihanna, Two Door Cinema Club, Sarah Blasko and Iyaz entering.

My 'Songs Trying To Push Through' has been revamped. It is now called 'Bubbling Under List' and will now include potential returns as well. Muse stay on top of the Vintage chart, as do Two Door Cinema Club on top of the Albums. The Model School stay on top of the Aussie chart as well.

Yes, it is early, but we're leaving the house at 9-ish so I don't have much choice.

What You Know stays on top, and Deep Sea Arcade jumps to no.2. They should hit no.1 next week (emphasise should :p). A lot of movement elsewhere, with Something Good Can Work, About the Future and Undercover Martyn jumping up to occupy spots 3 to 5. Jet break a new record for the highest jump of all time: Times Like This jumps an amazing 79 spots from no.85 to no.6. OK Go jump into the top 10 yet again with This Too Shall Pass, whilst former no.1s I Can Talk and It's Hard To Dance... slip to the bottom of the top 10. La Roux, Two Door Cinema Club, LMFAO and Lily Allen are amongst the debuts this week (what a weird mix, huh?). Iyaz falls out this week, with only lasting one week in the chart. White Rabbits and Yeasayer return, while Go/No-Go, Lily Allen, Vampire Weekend and Lifehouse are all in the running for debuts next week.

In the Vintage chart, Muse are completely dominating - occupying four of the spots in the top 5. Feeling Good is at no.1, and Stockholm Syndrome is also likely to get top spot soon. Two Door Cinema Club has its record-breaking 4th week on top of the albums chart, with Lily Allen breathing down their necks. Friendly Fires is the only casualty this week in this chart. Elsewhere in the Australian chart, Deep Sea Arcade jump to no.1, The Model School slip to fourth spot and Kisschasy bow out.

I wouldn't mind seeing DSA take the top spot as I actually know the song. Nice to see OK Go in the top ten and Yeasayer re-enter. Great to see Stockholm Syndrome & Everyday... in the vintage chart

School returned for me today (sob). But that also means it's Monday, so it's Chart Day! This week, Two Door Cinema Club's reign of terror is temporarily put on hold with Australian indie group Deep Sea Arcade jumping to no.1 with Lonely In Your Arms. DSA are very Beatles-like and very retro, but they are very awesome in their own way! A reasonably stable top 10 this week, with the only song leaving the top 10 being The Model School, slipping one spot to no.11 with former no.1 'It's Hard To Dance When Your Legs Are On Fire'. MGMT return with the highest re-entry of all time in the IH100, with Flash Delirium now at its peak of no.10. Expect it to rise next week.

A lot of competition for top spot this week, but next week will be even more hectic. DSA will be lucky to hang on to top spot, but at this stage, Two Door Cinema Club may have its 3rd no.1 by next Monday. OK Go also make a jump to no.8, whilst big debuts come from darwin deez, Go/No-Go, Grizzly Bear, Florence and the Machine, and yes, Lifehouse coming in at no.98 with Halfway Gone. For next week, John Butler Trio, Lily Allen and Richard Vission/friends are amongst the potential debuts in this week's Bubbling Under List.

In the vintage chart, Muse have ANOTHER no.1 with Stockholm Syndrome, they are just rocking my socks off at the moment. Holding spots 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10, they are dominating the vintage chart. In the albums chart, Two Door Cinema Club stay on top for yet another week, whilst Vampire Weekend make way for a Mumford & Sons return. In the Australian chart, DSA are the obvious no.1, with Sarah Blasko and Go/No-Go debuting, and British India returning with second single Beneath the Satellites.
