Rihanna scores her fourth No.1 single in Australia this week by taking “Rude Boy” (DL: 4 to 1) to the top in it’s sixth week in the Top 100. This week two years ago she was atop the ARIA Singles Chart with “Don’t Stop the Music” (3rd of the four weeks at the top), and she becomes the first female artist to top our charts this decade with the 961st No.1 in Australia (1940-2010). It’s the first time the word ‘rude’ has appeared in the No.1 spot (although there have been plenty of rude songs at the top), and only the second time that a song title has featured the word ‘boy’, the other being The Shadows’ only chart-topper here “The Boys” (2 weeks from 2-Feb-1963).
So last weeks No.1 by Jason DeRulo, “In My Head” (DL: 1 to 2) falls down to No.2, but climbing to a new peak of No.3 is current tourist to our shores David Guetta and his track “Memories” (DL: 6 to 5) featuring Kid Cudi. And right behind them scoring a new peak at No.4 is the parody version of “Tik Tok” (DL: 5 to 3) by The Midnight Beast, which pushes Owl City and their track “Fireflies” (DL: 3 to 4) down one position to No.5.
The fourth former/current No.1 single within the Top 10 is Iyaz and his track “Replay” (DL: 2 to 6) which drops three places to No.6 this week, whilst predicted future No.1 Train score their second ever Top 10 single by jumping up nine places to No.7 with “Hey, Soul Sister” (DL: 15 to 7) (they peaked at No.5 with “Drop of Jupiter” in August 2001). Ke$ha regains a place with “Blah, Blah Blah” (DL: 10 to 11, Phys: 6 to 8) going back up to No.8, and Cheryl Cole regains a Top 10 placing at No.9 with “3 Words” (DL: 12 to 8), and Taylor Swift holds on for a fourth week in the Top 10 by placing “Today Was a Fairytale” (DL: 7 to 9) at No.10.
NEW PEAKS: Timbaland and Katy Perry leap ten places to No.16 with “If We Ever Meet Again” (DL: 25 to 18), and Richard Vission is up one place to No.19 with “I Like That” (DL: 24 to 26). Pitbull is up six places to No.22 with “Shut it Down” (DL: 28 to 23), and Alicia Keys and Beyonce are up five places to No.24 with “Put it in a Love Song” (DL: 29 to 21). Last weeks re-entry for The Black Eyed Peas track “Imma Be” (DL: 28 debut) is the biggest climbing track of the week, up forty-one places to No.30, whilst right behind them at No.31 is Florence + The Machine with their remake of “You Got the Love” (DL: 34 to 31).
Justin Bieber takes his “Baby” (DL: 38 to 32) up to a new peak of No.33, and Jay-Z is “Young Forever” (DL: 46 to 37) at No.39, up eleven places from last weeks debut placing. Two acts that re-enter the Top 50 and also gain new peaks are Cascada with their latest track “Fever” (DL: 39 debut) up eleven places to No.42, and Gossip score a new peak of No.49 for their track “Love Long Distance”.
Gorillaz scores the highest new entry of the week by debuting at No.48 with “Stylo” the first track from their third album “Plastic Beach”. The track features guest vocals from Mos Def and Bobby Womack, whilst the video features a cameo from Bruce Willis. It’s the acts seventh Top 100 entry, and first since they left the charts in September 2006 with “El Manana / Kids with Guns”
Gorillaz ARIA Chart History:
Feel Good Inc.
El Manana/Kids With Guns
Below Top 50: Two local acts make big jumps up the charts to land just outside the Top 50 and score new peaks in the process. KissChasy and their new track “Dinosaur” are up twenty-six places to No.51 this week, and Evermore climb seventeen places to No.53 with “Underground” ahead of next week’s release of their greatest hits collection. After a slight slip back down the charts last week, k-os regain seven places this week to score a new peak of No.56 with their track “I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman”. Two R&B artists also score new peaks, T-Pain is up five places to No.76 with his latest “Take Your Shirt Off”, and Guy Sebastian is up seven places to No.92 with his latest “All to Myself” (Phys: 7 debut).
Lifehouse debut at No.63 with “Halfway Gone”, their sixth ARIA Top 100 appearance, and the first single from their fifth album “Smoke and Mirrors” (released this week). The song achieved its best chart performance on the Dutch Charts where it peaked at No.14, and in New Zealand it reached No.34. It has also charted in Canada (No.67) and the US (No.53). In other Lifehouse chart action, they jump up thirty-seven places with their May 2005 No.30 song “You And Me”.
Two acts who score new entries with the third release from the current albums are Muse at No.72 with the title track from “The Resistance”, and Rob Thomas debuts at No.73 with “Mockingbird” from his “cradlesong” album (No.24 this week). A remix of the current No.9 single for Cheryl Cole, “3 Words” enters at No.75, the remix done by Steve Angelo.
The new Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland has one song performed in the end credits, “Alice” by Avril Lavigne, which debuts at No.78 this week. The track can be found on the compilation album ‘Almost Alice’ which features a collection of current acts performing music inspired by the new film. Acts on the set include 3OH!3, All-American Rejects, Owl City, Metro Station, Tokio Hotel, Plain White T’s and Wolfmother.
2009’s American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was in the country the past week, performing on So You Think You Can Dance on Thursday night, which should help his entry at No.87 for “Whataya Want from Me” jump up the charts next week.
Serbian DJ Marko Milicevic debuts at No.100 under the name Gramophonedzie with the song “Why Don’t You”. The song samples Peggy Lee’s vocals from the song “Why Don’t You Do Right” (HP-12, January 1945) which she performed as guest vocalist along with Benny Goodman. The song was first recorded as “The Weed Smokers Dream” in 1936 and written by Kansas Joe McCoy as twelve-bar blues song. He later re-wrote the song as “Why Don’t You Do Right” and it was recorded by Lil Green in 1941. It’s most recent incarnation was in the film ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ (1988) by the animated characted Jessica Rabbit, whose voice was done by Kathleen Turner, but the vocals for that version were done by actress Amy Irving.
Lady GaGa also makes history this week by racking up her 80th week in the Top 100 with her first single “Just Dance”, which now becomes the longest charting single in ARIA’s history.
k.d. Lang scores her second No.1 album on the ARIA Album Charts by climbing one place to the summit with her best of set “Recollection”. And by scoring her second No.1 here she equals her New Zealand tally of two chart-topping albums (“Ingenue” and “All You Can Eat”), with ourselves and NZ being the only countries in the world to even give her chart topping success on the album charts. Her first No.1 here was “Watershed” (14-April-2009 for one week), and she now does what every other Canadian has done before in Australia, topped the charts with more than one album. Celine Dion (5 albums), Michael Buble (3 albums), Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne and now k.d. Lang (2 albums each) are the Canadian chart-topping acts, all of which have amassed eighteen No.1 albums here.
It’s the first time that the word “Recollection” has appeared in a No.1 album in Australia (1965-2010), and this is the 56th Best of/Greatest Hits set to top our charts. It’s also the 80th No.1 by a solo female artist to hit No.1, the last being by same-aged (48 years old) Susan Boyle at the turn of the decade (the first was “Pearl” by Janis Joplin in May 1971).
With Mumford and Sons dropping down to No.2 with their three-week-running No.1 album “Sigh No More” the rest of the Top 6 stays stable, with Susan Boyle at No.3, Lady GaGa at No.4, Taylor Swift at No.5 and Sade’s “Soldier of Love” steady at No.6. David Guetta is touring Australia at the moment, plus a new tour edition of his album has been issued, and his current No.3 single “Memories”, all of which helps it jump back up the charts fourteen places to No.7, having not been in the Top 10 since last October. Also currently touring the country is George Michael, who lands his first Top 10 album in six years (“Patience” hit No.2 in March 2004), as the former No.23 album from December 2006 “Twenty Five” jumps up fifteen places to reach a new peak and give George sixth Top 10 album. He also re-enters at No.21 with his first best of collection “Ladies & Gentlemen… The Best of” (No.2, November 1998).
Rihanna scores a new peak of No.12 for her “Rated R” album, and Whitney Houston’s “Ultimate Collection” is up five places to a new peak of No.29. Jumping back up the charts twelve places is Beyonce’s “I Am… Sacha Fierce”. Recent tourists Gossip take their “Music for Men” back up nine places to No.32, and ahead of next weeks new album by Angus and Julia Stone, their first effort “A Book Like This” is up thirteen places to No.34. And with the DVD release the past week of Michael Jackson’s “This is it” music doco, the parent album jumps back sixteen places to land at No.40.
Three new album entries to the Top 100 start with the highest new entry at No.20 for local rapper M-Phazes and his debut album “Good Gracious”. Train debut at No.38 with “Save Me, San Francisco”, and lower down at No.79 is Marina & The Diamonds with “The Family Jewels”.

Stoked that Hallelujah has managed to stay in the Top 50 this week, even if it's going to be its last week. Really surprised that out of the 2 Haiti charity singles Everybody Hurts is the highest placing one this week. Guess physical singles can help a songs placement sometimes. I personally prefer Everybody Hurts over the horrible We Are The World update.
And I'll admit I had no idea about the clues this week, but they all made sense once told what they were.
Jay Sean/Jason DeRülo/Iyaz (iJayz DeRülo I'm gonna call them) are just dominating our charts with crap in my opinion, and constantly pissing me off. Jay Sean had a great song with Down, I have to say. Then Jason DeRülo had Whatcha Say. That song wasn't too bad, but there wasn't really anything special about it, and over use of Vocoder. Then Iyaz came out and shat this crap and called it Replay. And it was the first iJayz DeRülo song to get #1. To be honest, I prefer the 'Yelper' mix where it is played backwards. Then Jay Sean came out with Do You Remember. I quite like the song actually, the 2nd best iJayz DeRülo in my opinion. But Replay continued to dominate our charts. Now, Jason DeRülo has ripped off Just Dance (proof is in the making) and got it to #1, and Iyaz decided to shit some more, with his Solo song. I hope I never have to hear more Iyaz... And now more Jason DeRülo, noooo!
Ah 392 now you can experience what I've been feeling with Lady GaGa with your iJayz dilemma. The same song being released with different words dominating our charts. To the 3 guys credit at least their songs have melodies, singalong lyrics and don't sound like a ringtone like so many of the current RnB songs of today. Last edited:
Does anyone have a captured image of aus charts with the old red and blue (I think) colour scheme? I don't think I was on this site yet when that scheme was in use, so I'd like to see it now If possible thnx in ad Vance.
Wow thanks for that link Hijinx, I had only known the Site for a short time when it looked like that and I wasn't even a guest yet.
Back to Charts, Iyaz sucks I think he is Sean Kingston in disguise and has about the same level of talent, NONE. Jason DeRulos #1 Hit is boring and Whatcha Say was better but got boring eventually. I Agree that Jay Sean has more talent then both.
I will weigh in, they all suck in my opinion. All of it is crap and the music executives are rubbing their hands together with all of the money they are making. They hire writers then go through the list of cute young marketable men or women that have been touted as potential talent (e.g de rulo and iyaz and whoever else) and get them to record the cheesy but catchy pop numbers and bam a hit. Last edited:
i hate em too, however if i was a music executive i would be doing the same, i dont think they should be looked at like bad guys, at the end of the day there trying to make money, and if 'sex appeal' is what gets said money, than of course there going to go that direction :/
Thanks for that link Hijinx, I don't recall seeing that before, I probably had only just found the site when the colours scheme was changed. In my opinion, that colour scheme looks better than the current one, lol.
* k.d.'s "Recollection" album goes to No.1 this week, giving her two No.1 albums here. Only New Zealand can match that feat ("Ingenue" and "All You Can Eat" were her two there). NO other country has given her one or more No.1 albums, including her native Canada. Check out the chartifacts after 6:30 to find out more chart feats for this album. Last edited:
Hah, the best part is, I learnt French in H.S. (trust me, it doesn't stick apart from Chic lyrics), and I still didn';t get the reference, lol! Oh, and when the charts come out, is it possible to find out HOW exactly Stylo made the Top 50?!?
Meet Me Halfway, Starstrukk, Party USA and a few others just feel so old, but they are still charting somehow, I don't know why so many people are buying them still! Those chart runs are not normal, imo. But IGF is just totally infinite. When it leaves the top 50, I will buy it due to my happiness
To me, Meet Me Halfway and Starstrukk have had reasonable enough chart runs, but IGF, Party In The USA and Sexy Bitch have all stayed around far too long. It seems insane that so many people only decided to buy them this week.
Young Forever is enjoying quite a jump this week, higher than I'd expected it to be. Didn't think it'd get top 40 this week.
I could have purchased 116 copies of Baby, meaning that it needs to have risen 16 places for it to have been a better investment for me than Young Forever. I wasn't expecting it to rise that much (or Young Forever for that matter) so I stuck with Jay-Z.
At least Sexy Bitch dropped, even if its only one place. I was half worried it'd rise.
BZ, if your figures are correct... Baby was #41 last week, and was in the #19-#22 range all week on iTunes. To climb 16 spots it would be #25. I believe it will climb more than that. That makes it the best buy
Of the tracks so far: I Can Transform Ya, Love Long Distance, USA Party, Halfway, Hotel Room, One Way Road (ok maybe this one), the two Bitches and maybe AOL should NOT still be in the charts they are soooo old!!
Alto Myself is average, not worthy of top 50 aria imo. Beanster, I agree, but then you are rigging the chart. Last edited:
I dont think 'All To Myself; will chart in the top 50,even though it is different and has alot of potential.I think this will be the first 'flop' for guy sebastian's standards on the 'Like It Like That' unless it picks up on airplay and promo,i mean not many people you ask would actually know this song.I bet you.Unless there on this site, music fanatics or guy sebastian fans,i don't think much people would know
392, I didn't think Baby was that high all week, which is why I wasn't expecting it to rise so much. I will defer to you on that one though, as I know you keep track of the iTunes charts, certainly moreso than I do. Time will tell where it sits though.
Beanster, I look forward to hearing All To Myself.
I agree Beanster, I wish Dog Days had been a bigger hit, but it took me ages to get into it myself. Kiss With A Fist is my favourite though.
Imma Be is less horrible than Rock That Body and Boom Boom Pow, but not as "good" as I Gotta Feeling or Meet Me Halfway. I really hope this doesn't hit the top ten, and then they stop releasing horrible singles from what has proven to be a ridiculously irritating album!
Down should be a lot lower.Btw on idol winner news-beautiful nat gauci is resurfacing with releases-her new single-'without you' will be released in April.Nat has been collabrating with some prominent german producers for the new album. Will send link too article about this if you want
* this song started charting in NZ at the end of 2009, and has been at No.1 for the past three weeks. Australia is now it's second best territory by jumping up this high, Denmark is next placing at No.26 last week.
OMG-you guys bloody hell-i was joking god-omg GET SERIOUS WITH ME-YOU CAN BLOODY WELL HATE RUDE BOY IF YOU WANT even though i like it haha-and hijinx i dont think every australian buys music, alot of music is purchased illegally and aria is not based on every sale from every site,so there is alot of sales lost.Anyways i didn't say every australian liked it did i anyways-cause they obviously dont like you chris a ha
* David hits the country, and he scores a new peak with his current track, and his "One Love" album goes back into the Top 10, the first time since last November. (helps that it's a tour edition with bonus remixes).
* She scores her fourth No.1, and the first by a female act this year/decade.
* It was exactly two years ago that she had her last No.1, she was spending her third of four weeks at the top with "Don't Stop the Music" (which Jamie Cullum is releasing as a single soon, Jazz version though).
The Apocalipse begins. Thanks Australia for giving us the worst #1 since My Humps. SOS, Irraplacable, Umbrella, 2 Hearts, Just Dance, Burn, Boom Boom Pow. They are all shitty #1's IMO but Rude Boy is even worse then all of them.
GUY SEBASTIAN - All To Myself ONEREPUBLIC - Secrets KATE VOEGELE - Inside Out THE SCRIPT - Lose Yourself (Live) CREED - A Thousand Faces GEORGE MICHAEL - Freeek! PARAMORE - The Only Exception LIFEHOUSE - You & Me BLACK EYED PEAS feat ESTHERO - Weekends ADAM LAMBERT - Whataya Want From Me
CHOCOLATE STARFISH - Mountain RADIOHEAD - Creep D:REAM - Thing's Can Only Get Better ACE OF BASE - All That She Wants TORI AMOS - Cornflake Girl PEARL JAM - Daughter U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close) SALT'N'PEPA feat EN VOGUE - Whatta Man MICHAEL BOLTON - Said I Loved You...But I Lied DENIS LEARY - Asshole EAST 17 - It's Alright
Lifter, I thought you must hate Rude Boy more because at the end you said they're all shitty #1's but Rude Boy was worse than all of them. I didn't realise that My Humps wasn't part of the list and was the original statement.
All To Myself isn't bad, I think I like it more than Like It Like That, but not as much as Art Of Love.
I was just listening to Rude Boy, and something makes me hear the chorus as Rude Dodo rather than Rude Boy. I'm guessing my hearing's still stuffed up after going to the pool this morning (that happens to me quite a bit unfortunately), or does anyone else hear this, lol.
I think Tik Tok deserved a stint at the top (maybe not as long as it had) too!!!
Replay deserved a top 3 placing for sure.
In My Head I am still not sure about. It definetly doesn't deserve more than 2 weeks at the top.
Rihanna in my opinion doesn't deserve to be #1 with this single as I find it to be one of her weakest songs to date. (Maybe it just needs to grow on me but the few listens I've had haven't done much for me to like it).
Yay I am so happy to see Rude Boy at number one, definitely better than In My Head rubbish. I do agree that it sounds like Just Dance esp the chorus and the video is a cheap ripoff of Like I Love You. I mean this in the nicest way, but i wish they would STOP zooming in on his face grrrr.
I hope Rihanna can score herself some more number ones after this album bombed esp in comparison to Good Girl Gone Bad. Am truly surprised Rude Boy made number one (probably won't be there for too long).
I also hope Gabriella can jump into the top ten. I am loving it!!!! And the clip is HOTTTT haha i know lots of people don't like it but oh well.
Tough choosing what to buy for next week, not sure whether Stylo will manage to stay in the top 50, but i want to put all my points on it - don't think too much of that song tbh.
Hope Timbaland/Katy Perry can crack the top ten next week - might stick with putting my points on that song. Play it safe!
Yep, ChrisA, perhaps it would be quite good to respect everyone's opinion instead of laughing at them. I really enjoy the fact that everybody states their feelings towards songs (it's the goal of a forum) but there's nothing more annoying to see someone, who thinks that he has a superior taste to other people, laughs at someone else's opinion.
And whilst I'm on it, one thing that annoys me is when a member A starts to criticize Member B's fav band or group just because the latter said he doesn't like a song that Member A likes. That often happens with Lifter500. How many times have I read things like 'Oh yeah you can criticize this song, you Nickelback fan'. Things like that are so unrespectful (and Gods knows how much I hate Nickelback). Just because you're a fan of Nickelback, you cannot express a negative opinion about one song. Please come on, this kind of behaviour is so childish.
Sorry for the rant, I reallyy enjoy this forum but I just had to say it.
To be honest, I think that it's the best #1 of the year. Fireflies was not too bad but it was a bit too bland for my liking and the singer's voice annoys me. Replay is crap. Nothing more to say about it & In My Head is just generic and nothing special, definately not worth a #1 IMO.
I am happy Rihanna - Rude Boy is #01. It's a great track as it her usual style with a bit more dance. The video clip is FANTASTIC it remindes me of mostly the 1990's but also Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance.
Kate was on one of those current affair shows on TV last night. The segment was on bullying. They featured the song and Kate spoke of her experiences too. I was kind of walking past the TV, so only saw bits of it.
Was there a reason why Hey, Soul Sister didn't rise as much as expected on the ARIA charts? I thought it would've risen to the top 5 at least, considering it's been in the top 5 on iTunes for the past 2 weeks. Last edited:
Coolrandom101 - yeah I heard that too.. but they have been playing it a lot in the past coupla months in the post-10pm time slot (before Jelli radio which sucks IMO).
Daniel09 - I assume both. But one thing I've noticed on iTunes is there's the IMRTB vid for $2.59, and the Part 2 RTB half for $2.59 too. Who would buy part 2 when they could get double that for the same price? lol.
#1.Rihanna Rude Boy #2.Train Hey,Soul Sister #3.The Midnight Beast Tik Tok (Parody) #4.Jason DeRulo In My Head #5.David Guetta Featuring Kid Cudi Memories #6.Owl City Fireflies #7.Cheryl Cole Featuring Will.I.Am 3 Words #8.Iyaz Replay #9.Ke$ha Featuring 3OH!3 Blah Blah Blah #10.Taylor Swift Today Was A Fairytale
On Rude Boy - when I first heard it I though - OMG she has lost the plot and thought it would be a total flop with a limited top 40 run, very surprised it is in the top 5, far less #1. It is pretty terrible. I don't think it will last long at #1 or even in the top ten for that matter, it got their thanks to Rihanna's brillantly timed promo tour.
I have decided to bring back the weekly chart questions for those who want to answer them.
1. How many weeks will 'Rude Boy' stay on top? 2. What will be the next ARIA #1? 3. What will be the peak of 'Imme Be'? 4. Is 'The Cave' going to climb up the charts before it falls? It has been pretty steady of late. 5. Will Gorillaz new album 'Plastic Beach' go #1 this week?
Oh thanks so much for bringing those back, Happy People!
1. I believe it will have 1 further week (maybe 2) giving it 2-3 weeks atop. Train will hopefully take over next week, otherwise that or other the week after. Unfortunately, maybe four though. 2. I'm hoping Hey Soul Sister but I ain't that sure about it. 70% of the top 10 atm have been #1. Imma Be could, or Ridin Solo, maybe IWEMA. 3. It will go top 3, probably #1 or #2, depending on what else is still selling well in two-three weeks time. 4. Err, I don't think so, but if yes, just one-two spots. 5. I hope so... I'll say yes.
HappyPeople,Rihanna has gone now,she is not in aus anymore, and yes her recent promo tour helped, but Rude Boy got too number one when rihanna was out of the country when it did go too number one and the music video is also going to get alot of attention aswell,o i think 'Rude Boy' did get there by its own merit and popularity.and for your questions: 1.2-3 weeks 2.well because of it topping the charts at the moment and having two versions up there-ill have to say train-hey soul sister will be the number one and the most strangest and most unknown number one of 2010-although i have a feeling it won't go number one even though it should 3.12 4.Yes-it will climb one spot this week-no higher-altough i think this track may be a bit like 'little lion man' and get a bit more attention later down the track. 5.No
1 2 weeks in total, so 1 further week at #1. 2 Probably Hey, Soul Sister, undeserving though... 3 I think it'll peak a little higher than Rock That Body did, maybe #6 or #7. 4 I think it will indeed climb slightly but then drop. 5 No it won't, but it should debut top 5.
1. Rude Boy will spend two weeks at the top in total. 2. Train's Hey Soul Sister 3. Imma Be will peak at #3, not higher cos the album has already sold very well. 4. Yep, it will climb in the next few weeks. 5. Yep, Gorillaz will debut at the Top.
As for predictions:
1. Rihanna - Rude Boy 2. Train - Hey, Soul Sister 3. Jason Derülo - In My Head 4. David Guetta Ft. Kid Cudi - Memories 5. Iyaz - Replay 6. The Midnight Beast - Tik Tok (Parody) 7. Cheryl Cole Ft. Will.i.am. - 3 Words 8. Ke$ha Ft. 3OH!3 - Blah Blah Blah 9. Owl City - Fireflies 10. Taylor Swift - Today Was A Fairytale
My Predictions: 1. Rihanna - Rude Boy 2. Train - Hey, Soul Sister 3. Jason Derulo - In My Head 4. David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi - Memories 5. The Midnight Beast - Tik Tok (Parody) 6. Iyaz - Repay 7. I'm ready to be proven wrong with my prediction for Jason to remain at #2, but remember, for the last two weeks Train have been in the itunes top 5, but not in the aria top 5 (#16, #7). Plus Jason is selling better on other sites. Also video sales should help a bit. Maybe even Train will be #4 and David #3. I'm also unsure about Replay & Parody, but Parody is an iTunes only, and was around #5 on ARIA while #1 on iTunes.

Just letting people who haven't heard know that tomorrow is the last airing of the Hot30 Countdown with Tim & Biggzy (on the Austereo network weekday 7-10pm FYI). They have not yet stated what show will replace them, I'm hoping the Hot30 stays with different hosts (not being negative about T&B) not that stupid Jelli radio piece of sh*t.
Oh that's awesome M@tt & Coolrandom, they were awesome hosts when they filled in for tim and biggzy last... what I'm wondering is why T&B are ending the show, so did they get fired offered a better job etc coz they did a great job with hot30 for the last 3 years.
392414: So Tim and Biggzy are finally gone from The Hot 30, good riddence to them I say, never really liked them, I have not listened to The Hot 30 since June 2008. To be honest the show lost it's way when Lowie left.
Good idea to bring back the Questions Happypeople. Heres my attempt.
1. How many weeks will 'Rude Boy' stay on top? 3 Weeks at most I hope. 2. What will be the next ARIA #1? It Better be Train. 3. What will be the peak of 'Imme Be'? #12 (Guess) 4. Is 'The Cave' going to climb up the charts before it falls? It has been pretty steady of late. I Think it has Peaked now, it could be steady though. 5. Will Gorillaz new album 'Plastic Beach' go #1 this week? Yes because there is not much competition.
1. Reekana - Rude Boy 2. Jason DeRulo - In My Head 3. Train Track - Hey, Soul Sister 4. David Guetta - Memories 5. Owl City - Fireflames 6. Midnight Roast - Tik Pok 7. 3 Words 8. Iyaz - Repeat 9. Taylor Swift - Today 10. Ke$ha - Stop Stop Stop.
My Predictions: 1.Rude Boy-Rihanna(2 weeks at #1) 2.In My Head-Jason Derulo(2 versions right up there will make this song just get ahead of train although number 2 and 3 will be very close) 3.Hey,Soul Sister-Train 4.Memories-David Guetta Ft Kid Cudi(two versions right up there will make it just fall one place-no 3 position is up for grabs this song for a surprise though) 5.Tik Tok Parody-The Midnight Beast 6.Fireflies-Owl City 7.3 Words-Cheryl Cole 8.Replay-Iyaz 9.Blah Blah Blah-Ke$ha(defs up there-physical sales and two versions will make this have a solid top 10 position) 10.Taylor Swift-Today Was A Fairytale

Gorillaz album may have some competition for the top spot, Jason DeRulo's album was released on the same day and (at least at JB) is much more competitively priced at $10.99. For an album with a top five single and a #1 single, that's pretty decent. I still think the Gorillaz will get it though, then plummet.
I really hope that Gorillaz get it, as I heart the album hard (they currently have 5 of my Top 10 songs of 2010 on my iTunes playcounts, lol)... but Jason Derulo seems stupidly popular, and Gorillaz havent really pushed their new album that hard in the UK where Damon Albarn is from, so I doubt it would have been pushed hard in Oz.
-> The good news, Lady Gaga now has a video for 'Telephone' -> The bad news, Lady Gaga now has a video for 'Telephone'
Why does someone who makes good songs come up with such pathetic videos for them!.
Paparazzi was my favorite song by Lady Gaga until i saw her video for it!. She ruined that big time!.
Now off 'The Fame: Monster' Telephone was my favorite song of her album, Her video for it just blew it for me!. Im gonna enjoy watching Telephone tank right outta the chart!. It's too over the top, and bad acting from BOTH Lady Gaga & Beyonce.
