Australian Top 100 RSS feed

Australian Top 100 with popularity bars (iTunes is needed to view this)

iTunesCharts.net is an archive of the daily top 100s from the iTunes of several countries, including Australia. While it has not been operating for a lengthy amount of time, it's still a nice site worth checking and a useful archive. It now features individual pages for all charters, which is helpful for finding peaks.

Recorded iTunes top 200s over the Christmas period when IC.net was down http://hitparade.ch/forum.asp?status=edited&todo=viewthread&pages=&id=34657#10

LivePopBars is a website which displays the popularity bars for iTunes charts of many countries including Australia and is useful for those who don't have iTunes and seek pop bars. iTunes have recently stopped providing detailed pop bars so rounded up numbers at best are used on LPB. Also contains the top 1000 which is no longer available on the iTunes RSS feed.

Kworb is an alternate website to LivePopBars which also provides pop bars but with more detailed numbers than the aformentioned.

Obviously due to chart rigging Scream & Shout is now #5.
S&S for #1! (After Olly gets there though)
Scream & Shout would be the outright worst #1 of 2012 if it makes it there.

Thankfully right now it's not even getting half the sales of "Thrift Shop", also taking into account Macklemore having three versions of Thrift Shop at #1, 53 & 72.

Pissed off that "Scream & Shout" overtook "Little Talks".
Hijinx, for Birdy on the #1 tally board it's a tad off.
On its first run at #1, shouldn't it be 3 (+13) and not #23?

Sucks that Olly is breaking through with Troublemaker, when his singles from his last album were much better.
I have no idea how that happened
Someone is going to have to explain to me why Scream & Shout is so high up... Is radio raping it?
I assumed it had to do with who the 2 artists featured on it were.
4. Scream & Shout
12. I Love It
15. Rest Of My Life
20. Beneath Your Beautiful
34. Drinking From The Bottle

I Hope Shine Ya Light becomes a hit! Love how the video is about life in Kosovo.

687. City Calm Down - Pleasure & Consequence
210. One Day/Reckoning Song (Wankelmut Remix) - Asaf Avidan & The Mojos - I didn't think this could become a hit here.
I don't think I song which I added to this site has charted before but there are currently 2 in the itunes top 50
Icona Pop have knocked Ed Sheeran out of the top ten. Sadface.
It's more Ed falling below Icona Pop. That discount removal really killed it.
7. Icona Pop - I Love It!

Now storming up the top ten!!

Finally the hit I thought it would be when I first heard it a few months ago and was languishing in the 30s.

Hello new iTunes #1.
Thrift Shop still has 3 versions which puts it at 117%

I;m at work, what's the new iTunes #1 ignoring those songs with 63 versions.
Scream & Shout is BB... Boo!
Thanks Mykl, yay to it being a Britney related song, boo that its that song though.
Ugh S&S really?
Not impressed with this latest #1.
First Samantha Jade and now this.
Are people deaf? Both these songs are brutal.
Next we'll see Justin and Minaj at #1. Wouldn't surprise me looking at the trash that has gotten there of late.
Eww justice crew top 10. But oh my gawd! Emeli so close to a top 10.
I quite like Scream & Shout and What You've Done To Me. I'm quite glad both songs hit #1.

Labrinth has kicked Samantha Jade out of the top 10 [source: Livepopbars, things may have changed since last update]
Is Guy Sebastian performing anywhere or promoting his single anywhere?

It's been steady for a few days after it's rapid rise and then quick decline out of the top 10.
Scream & Shout - 1.0000000000

Few days left of the charting week too
Scream & Shout has no chance of being #1 this sunday but the following sunday it probably will.
I think I would prefer Scream & Shout to be #1 over Thrift Shop. If death isn't an option.
Best Of 2012 has been presented.

Reece Mastin, Karise Eden, Johnny Ruffo, Samantha Jade all missing...
I am surprised Guy is ahead of Psy.

Pretty fair representation of what has been big throughout the year.

SHM are quite high for a late single.

Alot of 2011 hits just make the countdown. When is the sales period does anyone know?
I suppose Psy's video sales weren't counted into the mix

Generally though, these iTunes lists cut off a couple of weeks before they're posted, so older songs take more precedence. I think I recall "Hey, Soul Sister" topping the 2010 list.
So were sales from the last cut off or were they from January?

I would have expected songs like The A Team and Party Rock to be much higher.

Perhaps sales at the start of the year were very weak compared to later in the year.
Bella Ferraro - Set Me On Fire (came out today, pretty good song, hopefully it does well)

@392414 That's meant for Q16Martin's irritating thread.
I was just posting the list to save people the effort of finding it on iTunes
What percentage does Itunes (even an approx) have towards the weekly singles chart does anyone know?

It must be fairly high.
It was 70% a few years ago. I'm guessing it's around the same now.
I'd actually say that it'd be around 90%
Thanks guys.
I was assuming around the 80% but wasn't completely sure.
Beneath Your Beautiful #6
Let It Roll, Pt. 2 (feat. Lil Wayne) #94
"Turn Me On" and "Play Hard" have been removed from the best sellers list, and there's just 98 songs now.

In regards to the iTunes' list of best selling singles of 2012. The US list was determined on sales between January 1st and December 3rd. I suppose it must have been the same in Australia.
I believe with all of the three versions, Macklemore would be ahead of will.i.am/Britney again.
1. Christmas
2. Merry Christmas, Baby

What does a song need to do to have its video available on Itunes?

Taylor Swift, Swedish House Mafia, Florence + The Machine and Gym Class Heroes/Ryan Tedder are some of the big ones of 2012 missing and I've seen all of these songs have a video clip.
I would guess as usual it's up to the record company involved.

We love new music
I find it surprising that the biggest hits of the year have already started to climb. They usually rise back after Christmas but not before.
The best of list from ITunes maybe?
Gangnam style just crossed 1 billion views on youtube the other day too so I suppose that COULD be contributing to it's rise lol
I Will Wait #28, #140, #191 haha!

Also these rebounds are ridiculous:

23. Skinny Love
45. One More Night
52. Lego House
55. Wild Ones
57. Whistle
62. Starships
63. Bangarang
153. Throw Your Hands Up
174. Set It Off
309. That Gym Class Heroes song that hit #1 for some reason
It's noteworthy that Thrift Shop has climbed back to 97% meaning that if it were a normal week, it'd probably be a lock for another week at #1. However it's Christmas tomorrow so whatever wacked out chart we get tomorrow will decide it. Impossible to pick which of the two songs will benefit most. Gangnam Style (now up to #5) is the dark horsey

And oh dear I dread tomorrow's chart

Oh and Merry Christmas everyone

And Thrift Shop has gone back to #1!
Yay, but also Justin Bieber has finally gotten in the top 10 as expected
4. Gangnam Style
9. Battle Scars
22. Skinny Love
29. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
32. Call Me Maybe

Edit: Gangnam Style is up to #3

It amazes me that the older songs rise so much. Surely everyone has them by now.
Not all the people who just got their first iWhatevers today
Surely they have Itunes and have backed up their purchases.
Lols @ everyone thinking regular teenagers buy songs on iTunes. Though I don't illegally download music it's only because I can see what it could potentially do to the music industry. Legal buyers are 12 or younger or 30+. I don't even buy singles only albums.
Quite likely that they could've just downloaded iTunes today too K8. In fact if you check out Google trends, search queries for 'itunes download' double on Christmas. Also they may have received iTunes vouchers too
3. I Love It, new peak
These songs are rising atm:

6. The Lumineers - Ho Hey
10. Labrinth - Beneath Your Beautiful
12. Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man
15. Rudimental - Not Giving In
26. Flo Rida - Let It Roll
27. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Same Love
29. Calvin Harris - Drinking From The Bottle
43. Rudimental - Feel The Love
46. Chiddy Bang - Happening
56. Neon Trees - Everybody Talks
63. Anna Kendrick - Cups
86. Disclosure - Latch
102. Flumitude - HyperParadise
106. P!nk - Are We All We Are
116. Avicii & Nicki Romero - I Could Be The One
126. Owl City - When Can I See You Again
131. B.o.B - Arena
142. Phillip Phillips - Home
159. Haim - Don't Save Me

Chart is finally restoring to order
wow at Cups lol
Phil Phil should have been a #1 smash here, it better start charting well!
Finally some normal movement!

I am rather impressed how high I Love It has got, its got several versions below the top 100 as well. I'd love it to reach #1 but realistically I think #3 will be its peak (unless it can keep growing).

S&S seems to be struggling to reach the top again, Thrift Shop could have another few weeks at #1 at this rate. May be Lumineers could be a contender though that doesn't scream #1 IMO. Nothing climbing ATM screams #1 right now but things will probably change in the coming weeks.

I think Home by Phillip Phillips could end up being very big and Skylar Grey/Eminem track could do big things IMO once airplay starts.
I'm still thinking will.i.am could grab #1 any day now.

It's worth noting that Same Love has zoomed up to #20 & #104, go go go!
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Will.I.am did go to #1, I actually thought they would have been back at #1 by now. The next few weeks could be interesting

Plus just noticed I Love It is still gaining
Don't forget the JJJ affect. A lot of these songs should benefit from this.

I Love It, Little Talks, Thrift Shop, Ho Hey in particular. Scream & Shout should fall during this time.
Ho Hey #5 now!
@K8: I agree, but the general public has already bought so much of Thrift Shop that i don't see much of a gain from it. I think the next Aria #1 will be I Love It, Ho Hey or Same Love
yeah that will.i.am song is #1 again
I just heard Thrift Shop for the first time... seriously people?

It's massive because they swear in it I'm guessing?
Loving Same Love's daily rises: 65-64-61-49-47-46-46-39-31-20-13

And Haim are at #92 with Don't Save Me
Hello everyone! I'm back! It's Brandon, bitch. My name is now Fernando. FUCKIN RELIEF! at last! WILL.I.AM and BRITNEY bitch! is back at #1. Spears fans have been waiting a long time, at least 8 years for another Aria chart topper. If "Scream and Shout" does peak at #1, it will be her first #1 since "Toxic" from 2004. Hurry please keep buying the song and lets see Britney at #1 on the Aria Charts again. It's been nearly 9 long years people. So good to see Thrift Shit Shop at#2, such an annoying song and confusing storyline.
Welcome back!!!! The iTunes thread was getting boring without you tbh
Hello Daniel! Yes I'm back, did go on long service leave in 2nd half of 2012. It's good to be back. Will the #1's tally board get updated soon?
Heh, it was only two days behind
Fernando. Everytime went No.1 also if I remember correctly.
It looks like Thrift Shop and Scream & Shout will do a Gotye/Maroon 5, with Thrift Shop staying at #1, and leaving Scream & Shout to have a lengthy stay #2. This should continue for about 2 weels. I think I Love It may be our next #1, because they are in the country doing a couple of festivals, and also JJJ's Hottest 100 is soon.

4. The Lumineers - Ho Hey

Good song. Very radio friendly.

Thanks Hijinx

Just saw the 30 second preview of the new One Direction song and it reminds me of the Brady Bunch.

Just when you thought these blokes couldn't get any more gayer.

I guess we'll know what will be our next #1 single as girls will buy the video in droves as the dudes are in their boardies only. Oh and sailor uniforms too. Did I say gay?
tbh most their fans seem to want the members to date so that was probably what they're going for

Rudimental #12 now even!
Everybody Talks up to number 19 now
I have my fingers crossed that Phillip Phillips can crack our Top 100. Maybe when American Idol arrives it might get a boost somehow.

And fingers crossed James Arthur gets to chart here as well. It would be the first time a UK winner would get their winner's song charting in our chart I believe.

I actually like almost every single song that has entered the top 100 from the triple J
10 Not Giving In
13 Holdin On
19 Best Night
27 Just Give Me A Reason
50 Skinny Love

Why is Best Night rising
Justice Crew were on the "Sunrise Beach Party!!!1!!" with Reece Mastin and Evermore this morning; maybe they performed it?
WHO is still buying "Skinny Love"?!
A lot of action happening this morning:

66 Bom Bom - Sam And The Womp
Hope P!nk gets another Smash hit. Well deserved.
I hope Ne-Yo fades faster than ricki-lees album. Hate him.
Same, I think Just Give Me A Reason is the best out of all of her singles from The Truth About Love. I hate Ne-Yo as well, don't know why he is so popular because his voice is really annoying and horrible.
It's such a shame to see most of the Triple J Hottest 100 tracks dropping, and not making as much impact as last year

Let's see if the 200-101 countdown can make an impact
Yeah, Ne-Yo sounds like a dog whining. Cant stand him. Its a shame P!nks Are We All We Are hasnt charted since its been at radio for a while.
Impossible #5.
#54 We Come Running - Youngblood Hawke
17. P!nk - Just GIve Me A Reason

Impossible #4.
Wow at Impossible. Maybe it will be our 999th number one
Any reason for Impossible's sudden jumo into the Top 5. Are radios in the capital cities just playng it more or is he actually in town for promotions
I think people are just taking to it really quickly, it still has a lot of airplay to gain.
Impossible is discounted. Must help a bit. This, it's impressive to see it at the doors of the Top 3 when it's barely Top 40 on airplay.

What is the song I'm hearing on the radio that they promote as "new music" and it sounds like the Vengaboys "We Like To Party" beat with possibly a Pitbull artist sound?
3. James Arthur - Impossible (keep going !)
15. Bingo Players Ft Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle)
24. The Lonely Island Ft Kendrick Lamar & Adam Levine - Yolo
37+75. P!nk - Just Give Me A Reason (why the sudden drop?)
41. Of Monsters And Men - Mountain Sound
50. Youngblood Hawke - We Come Running
Yay Impossible!

Just Give Me A Reason is dropping because the higher version was stupidly made "album only" so it's falling and the other one is rising.

I haven't heard the Bingo Players or Lonely Island things yet but I hate tham on principle and hope they somehow don't go top ten.
13 Get Up (Rattle)
23 Yolo
33 I Could B The One
70 As Long As You Love Me Acoustic Version
81 Radioactive (Yay go Rita!)
87 Chicken Fried
92 Beauty And A Beat Acoustic Version

I'm assuming with this acoustic version plus the normal version at number 28 plus the music video at number 4 we will see Beauty And The Beat rise next week on the charts
1D's "One Way Or Another" is up for pre-order and already #87.
11 Get Up (Rattle) - Bingo Players featuring Far East Movement
30 I Could Be The One - Avicii featuring Nicky Romero
33 Just Give Me A Reason - P!nk featuring Nate Reuss
73 Radioactive - Rita Ora
74 Bassline Junkie - Dizzee Rascal

Also will Justin Bieber's acoustic album sales be combined with his normal album sales or will it be charted as a separate album on the ARIA Charts?
#10 Get Up (Rattle)

If only it was an instrumental FEM
Zacco - I assume it will chart separately.
8 Get Up (Rattle) - Far East Movement
18 Just Give Me A Reason - P!nk featuring Nate Reuss
38 Mountain Sound - Of Monsters And Men
53 Bassline Junkie - Dizzee Rascal
65 One Way Or Another - One Direction

Thanks 392414, hopefully it doesn't reach the top 5 but it most likely will.

Also, last time I checked Somebody That I Used To Know was number 3 on the music video chart
Stay #8
With both versions combined, STIUTK is #9
Only if you ignore that you also need to combine Macklemore's two versions
Music Video

#2 Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye featuring Kimbra
MVs should be included by ARIA
They should or shouldn't? Because they are included.
in the singles chart? I never knew or forgot... Itunes videos must not sell that well then if something like Kiss You is #1 and falling T50 wise
They don't sell very well for obvious reasons (why spend a few dollars on a video in 360p when you can download the HD video off YouTube for free?), but they do make a difference. "Kiss You" debuted at #21 on digital tracks the week it entered at #13 on the main chart, for example, so video sales helped it advance that much higher.
More power to STIUTK then... :-P
4 Stay - Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko
11 I Could Be The One - Avicii & Nicky Romero
15 We Come Running - Youngblood Hawke
21 + 96 Harlem Shake - Baauer
23 Mirrors - Justin Timberlake
37 It's Time - Imagine Dragons
42 Do Or Die - Flux Pavilion featuring Childish Gambino
43 22 - Taylor Swift
100 White Noise - Disclosure featuring AlunaGeorge

P!nk has dethroned One Direction on the music video chart with Just Give Me A Reason. I thought it would take forever for someone to do that.
Stay #3
12 + 75 Harlem Shake - Baauer
38 22 - Taylor Swift
39 Do Or Die - Flux Pavilion featuring Childish Gambino
44 Titanium - David Guetta featuring Sia (Why has this been in the iTunes top 50 during the last few weeks)
54 Can't Hold Us - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton
59 Feel This Moment - Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera
Wow, 9 out of 10 tracks in the top ten isn't a dance track. When was the last time this happened?
around 2008, I'm guessing
Hijinx, that does not count. I am very sorry.
I fail to see why, unless everyone was raving to "Landslide"
Harlem Shake #6

Oh and MS MR's Fantasy is up to #64

77 Love I Can Afford - Adil Memon
93 Retrogade - James Blake
3 Harlem Shake
Wow number 2 . Also:

134 Saved In A Bottle - The Potbelleez

While I like Harlem Shake I'd much rather P!nk be at number one but it looks like Harlem Shake will be the 1000th number one. I really wish Saved In A Bottle would rise much faster, I think it's a really good dance track and my 2nd favourite song from them.
The bars are saying Harlem Shake is #1.
Beneath Your Beautiful back to #10! yay but what the?
I never thought I'd say this but with the alternative being Harlem Shake I hope that Pitbull song can somehow get itself to #1 with the way its rising
This is just sad.
16 Feel This Moment - Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera
23 22 - Taylor Swift
31 Diamonds - Rihanna
40 Can't Hold Us - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton
52 Girl On Fire (Inferno Version) - Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj
100 Saved In A Bottle - The Potbelleez

I'm glad to see The Potbelleez slowly rising up the charts but I'm hoping they can crack the top 50 in the next few days because I don't want this awesome song to flop.
Is Australia serious with the current iTunes #1. 33 seconds is enough for me, and that's with visuals. Remove the visuals and its just a load of crap. It reminds me of that terrible Flat Beat.
Where did this Harlem Shake come from?
I've never even heard of it until I read all your comments.

It's dreadful so what's sparking it's popularity? Is there a dance to it?
Not really, apparently you just have to film yourself thrusting around like you're having a violent seizure and you're doing the "Harlem Shake". Also, it helps if you're dressed stupidly or barely.
That thing is really #1?
22. 22
Harlem Shake at #1. WHY must teeny boppers like music only because it has a novelty "dance movie" to it. PSY ill accept as a Australia wide fad, but Harlem Shake is just ridiculous/
At least we aren't the only ones, it was #1 on US itunes when I looked late last night.
One Direction - One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) #3

Imagine if this is our 1000th #1 instead of Harlem Shake...
Go 1D in that case Trav
It's probably going to drop faster than LWWY though.

Please be the 1000th #1
Well I haven't heard this 1D song, but I think its probably worse than Harlem Shake.
in a complete twist of events, One Direction become aus-charts saviours to stop the 1000th from being absolutely deplorable, Go One Direction!!
I don't think 1D has a chance, but it would be a MUCH better #1 than "Harlem Shake" so keep going!!!
Well One Direction sure are taking their time if they want to be number one. I'm hoping P!nk can get back to where she belongs on the iTunes chart, it's annoying seeing her at number 3 below Harlem Shake and One Direction. I've noticed that the iTunes chart has been really boring today, hardly anything has moved up or down. I guess the good thing about that is that it makes predictions much easier though

86 Saved In A Bottle - The Potbelleez

I really wish this would rise much higher because it's a really good dance track and my 2nd favourite song from them. Hopefully it can make top 50 in a few more days.
Wasn't the track released this morning/last night? That's not really taking their time. I'd love for P!nk to return to #1.
Well about three quarters of their sales kicked in with the pre-orders. Since then they've gained soooooo slowly that they might not get there in time
7 Beneath Your Beautiful - Labrinth featuring Emeli Sande
I didn't realise Lanterns was out of the top 10
#5 Beneath Your Beautiful - what's the story there?
It's on the new promo for The Voice, maybe it'll get a new peak
Maybe it could be the new number one. I'd much rather that than Harlem Shake or One Direction
1D > HS > BYB

So I think I'm out of the loop a bit - why is Lissie charting all of a sudden?
BYB would be an awesome new #1
Lissie's cover of 'Go Your Own Way' is all over that new token Valentine's day trash movie Safe Haven.

Speaking of trash, I find it absolutely mortifying at the thought of this out-of-nowhere Harlem Shake thing trouncing in and stealing #1 from P!nk and more than likely becoming our 1000th number 1 in the process. And don't even go there with One Direction, it is for charity though...

And on a complete side note, I hope people start recognising Gabrielle Aplin's 'Please Don't Say You Love Me'. Potential hit written all over it!

Thank you for your time lol
Not sure why "Please Don't Say You Love Me" would become a hit here since "The Power of Love" didn't

Edit: why is "Right Now" so high?

I was wondering the same about Right Now. It's not like Stay has flopped so why would she need to release a new single. I'm so glad Saved In A Bottle is rising, hope it can crack the top 50 in the next few days.

Also, why have the charts been so stable over the past few days, hardly anything has changed in the past 24 hours.

"Right Now" is on iTunes' 'New Singles To Watch'.
That's odd.
Not when you consider the fact that not long ago they had a Macklewis song from several years back on there, which subsequently sold enough to chart in the top 50 but was denied

On that note, "Can't Hold Us" likely will make the top 50 next week because it is also on NSTW

Right Now has been at radio for longer than Stay, and Nova 100 in Melbourne plays it repeatedly. Maybe stations now are going with it instead of Stay cuz it's your typical Rihanna dance track. Who knows lol.

Hey Porsche can be a future #1. Love it.

Atoms For Peace are stuck at #2 but I'm not making an idiotic & disrespectful tirade

Good ol' Sunrise has pushed Lanterns back up to #8, sorry Bruno.
Aww come on Hijinx, I want to see you go on an idiotic & disrepectful tirade. Might educate me on who the hell Atoms For Peace are/is. I assume they are a 'JJJ artist'.
But the tirade would have nothing to do with them. My comment was merely expressing my disgust for the idiotic crap that I see every year or so. And they're American/British and therefore couldn't possibly be a JJJ artist.

In any case, the chart has shifted a lot since my comment, now they're back to #4 behind Spit Syndicate, now THAT's a JJJ artist

I would also have enjoyed reading the idiotic and disrespectful tirade. In any case, I'm just happy Lanterns is back in the top ten where it belongs!

Ooh, GOT is the best show going around at the moment and easily the most popular, could MS MR get two entries in the 1 week?
Quite possibly. Although I suspect that it will be the EP that is charting, which brings the awkward case where the 2nd most popular song is what pushed it over the line to chart, but at least then I can say that "Hurricane" charted
29. Heart Attack

Go Demi! Hope it can reach the top 10.

Hopefully Jess Mauboy can rise up Itunes with her new cover track!
Jess is currently at #102. Hopefully she can rise, her cover is good and I like the ad.
#78 - Somethings Got A Hold On Me
Keep rising sweetheart!!!!!

I hope Demi Lovato doesnt stay around for long.
I really hope Demi does stay round for a while, it's good to see someone from Disney besides Miley Cyrus making some sort of dent on the charts. And Demi is far superior to Miley.
Demi's voice is a little too annoying for me lol
Nice to see P!nk back atop, and Jessica now at #56. Hopefully next week she'll be in the top 20 or Sony will deny Charting her as per usual.
lol song from Backspacer that isn't The Fixer at #98?
Macklemore, Ryan Lewis & Wanz - Thrift Shop #01 on the video chart (About Time!)

If I buy a single off a 3 track EP off iTunes will it chart on ARIA as the single or the EP?
Probably the EP.
What if I buy the whole EP together. Does that count as three sales towards the EP or only one?
only 1 Zacco.

Small Bump #12

6 Harlem Shake
44 I Need Your Love

Looks like the Harlem Shake novelty has worn off extremely quick
11 - Hey Porsche
Personally I feel that Harlem Shake is lasting longer than I thought it would. I honestly thought it would follow a path simialr to a Glee or The Voice release.

Just cause I can

27. Mountain Sound - Of Monster & Men
28. Little Talks - Of Monsters & Men

I hate Packed to the bloody rafters. Shit show making shit songs popular. Grrr. Th Titanium cover is much better but still..

Jessica down to #28. Man i hope Sony let it chart on ARIA...

Big Banana up to #34. I have a feeling this is only going to rise and rise. And i have no prolems with that.
IGWU #9, yes! Such an awesome track that should have smashed like a year ago.
Can't Hold Us #05
I Won't Give Up #06 + #072 + #134
Harlem Shake #09
Hey Porsche #12
I Won't Give Up #83 (Titanium)
IMO IWGU is a copy of the ARIA piss off song, A Thousand Years. That's always good though
Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up - #3, #63, #127
Titanium - I Won't Give Up - #79

Tennis - IWGU came out in January 2012, two and a half months after ATY. That's not really enough time to carbon copy a song and get it released imo

IWGU is ~97% from combined pop bars + ~11% from Titanium and that fake version. Wow
First that disgusting flop of a Neon Trees songs becomes popular like a year after it first charted, now this horrible Jason Mraz song -_-. I hope it doesnt get to #1. Id much prefer Harlem Shake.

#20 - Radioactive - Rita Ora (Highest position?)
#30 - Big Banana - Havana Brown (Slowly rising)
Pink & Nate Reuss - Just Give Me A Reason #01 (Video)

Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up - #03 + #64 + #134 + #51 (Video)

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours #164
#4 Can't Hold Us

I think that the next number one will either be Can't Hold Us, Beneath Your Beuatiful or I Won't Give Up. I'd love to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis get a third number one on ARIA, the last artist to have three number one singles from the one album was The Black Eyed Peas in 2009 wasn't it?
That is correct, and before that was Britney Spears in 2003, and before that was Kylie in 1988. Delta Goodrem holds the record with 5 #1s from Iinnocent Eyes in 2002-3
31 Mirrors
38 I Need Your Love
Well, I wanted this song to be successful so I'm actually pretty cool with Jason Mraz being up high, I hope he can get a good run haha

But more than that, I want Can't Hold Us to go #1
This top 5 is so much better than what it used to be, except ewwwwwwww Hey Porsche is #10
Go Hey Porsche!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#92 - Change Your Life - Little Mix
This on the ads for that new renovation show on Ch7. I expect it to rise heaps soon
Can't Hold Us #3, I would love this to be #1!
there are 6 songs in the top 10 atm that I find to be absolutely terrible.
If Macklemore goes to #01 it shows how poor the albums charts are. That an album can harbour three #01 singles and not only get to #01 but sell a bucket load.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's album hasn't hit #1 though.
Which is really annoying because the album is absolutely perfect.

It's such a shame that songs like Neon Trees and Jason Mraz need TV exposure to break into the Aussie charts.

Even Icona Pop and Labrinth needed the extra TV ad exposure to make them bigger hits.

Gone are the days that music is about music. It's now about TV exposure and Internet crazes or the artist is extremely popular like P!nk.

Thrift Shop was at least a worthy #1 and will go down as a memorable and classic hit in years to come. Not too many recent #1s can that be said for. If a #1 hit can't rank in the top 20 year end like quite a few from last year they should never have been #1 hits. They don't deserve that honour imo.

Good to see Jason Mraz won't be considered a one hit wonder in Oz even if its taken him over a year to crack our charts.

Probably capitalising on its newfound success Global Concepts is on there too but it's a week late so it'll probably just hold
Why is I Could Be The One in the songs to watch thing?
Perhaps they're trying to give it a push to chart higher, considering it would be peaking about now.

Just when I thought it was finally going to leave the ARIA Charts
Is I Need Your Love a single or is it being weird like splay Hard and being a hit with no release?
On 18 Months wikipedia page it has I Need Your Love listed as the seventh single with a release for April 2nd. There is no Wikipedia page for the song yet though
41. Olly Murs - Army Of Two
42. Heart Attack - looks like it might stay for a little while, I hope it can climb back up considerably and get a good peak

Is there a reason why many songs sales percentages have been dropping on iTunes. On Kworb it says 9 & 10, 26-31 & 59-100 sales percentages have all dropped but there are none that have risen.

Also this is kinda irrelevant but why is there a second Bed Of Clouds that is listed as being by wift K.I.D feat. Guy Sebastian.
Last edited:
Try refreshing because I'm not seeing the same update?

Otherwise such a situation would just suggest that the rest of the chart which have neither dropped nor risen would be selling at the same rate relative to P!nk as before, while the dropping songs have naturally slipped. I don't know if kworb has enough information to totally confirm whether overall sales have risen or dropped, so it's possibly just a guess!
Well that's weird, it's back to normal now. Must have been a glitch or something
Yeah I think the 'Now' column can be taken with a grain of salt as it can fluctuate a bit, and it says just above that the 2nd column has the 'most recent OK values'. That being said, 'Now' tends to match up the positions with whatever iTunes will be showing, just that the numbers can be fishy.

That polarising Nelly song is up to #7.

March Fires is back to #2

Clowlsure #1210 on pop!
Has anyone noticed the iTunes Australia 'chart' on this website is completely different from the actual charts on iTunes?? Check the charts on this site (australiancharts.com) and then on this one: http://www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10songs.html. (BTW Australia is top right in the world charts)
Just moving your post to the appropriate place

That link isn't working for me, but the obvious answer is that iTunes updates basically every 10 minutes where the chart is only updated once a week, so they start to differ

Oops, had to put a new link, I accidentally put a dot after the html in my previous post !!
But that's the thing, I listened to the Nova 91.9 Fresh 40 Top 10 countdown on Saturday and australiancharts.com was updated Sunday evening (Monday morning for me) and the charts (from what I heard) were very much similar to what they are now (on iTunes) !!
What I mean to say is that Saturday's iTunes Charts were similar to that of today (Tuesday's) but this website's Sunday/Monday chart updates are completely different!!
Ah, there are a few reasons for that then:

1. That link excludes any songs with the 'Explicit' tag. So Rihanna's "Stay" is completely missing there.
2. The chart on this site is the ARIA chart which is composed of sales from Friday to Thursday, (eg, this latest chart would be sales from March 8th to March 14th). This also includes several retailers apart from iTunes.
3. iTunes' chart is roughly based on purchases from the last 24 hours, so if you observe a song's progress on iTunes for the whole week, you'll know roughly how it will line up for the ARIA chart.

Hope that explanation helps

Thanks Hijinx! So the ARIA Charts, which this website utilizes, are actually more official than iTunes??
Well, I'll be using this from now often! Just a question, why do Rihanna's "Stay" and "Right Now" carry an explicit tag ?? I looked up the explicit versions and there wasn't even a 'damn' (or any other swear word) once in either song (?)
Perhaps someone more in the know about the album would be able to shed light, but it looks like iTunes just have the Explicit tag on every single song on Rihanna's album, except Diamonds.
Shine bright like a diamond
Some songs are impossible to get the radio/super clean versions of...

eg. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)
will.i.am - Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears)
Ludacris - Rest of My Life (feat. Usher & David Guetta)

Also, there are no radio/super clean versions of:

Laurent Wery - Hey Hey Hey (Pop Another Bottle) [feat. Swift K.I.D & Dev]
Gym Class Heroes

I prefer clean music, so I usually make my own clean versions using Audacity
Gym Class Heroes - The Fighter (feat. Ryan Tedder) that is
Are you sure they're impossible? The version of Thrift Shop sitting at #76 on iTunes is the clean version I believe
Is that the one from The Heist clean album? Not 100% clean, with a not very subtle 'PISSSSSS' halfway through! Call me obsessive but the one on radio is yet cleaner
haha, differing standards!
Yes iTunes, actual songs and radio songs all have different standards! As a result radio has the best Which means if your standards are high its probably up to yourself
The radio stations must own clean versions but they seldom publish them!! However I take my hat off to Nova for the clean versions provided in Nova Hits, Vol. 1, 2 & 3!!
Rihanna's album has some pretty dirty songs but I found it weird as well. Every song is labelled explicit, despite maybe four or five having lyrics that can be deemed as offensive

It's the same as Nicki Minaj's 'Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded' which had every song labelled 'explicit' when not all of them were. I don't really know how the ratings work but it might have something to do with the album as a whole.
You're probably right, Alex Diamonds is the only song in the standard edition not labelled explicit! Maybe this is why Right Now and Stay haven't climbed the charts quicker ??
Can't Hold Us is 2% away from being number one

38 Bed Of Clouds
60 Pompeii
Can't Hold Us & Just Give Me A Reason both are at 1.0 on live pop bars. Does this mean they are selling the same amount?
Nah it probably means they've rounded it up.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are #1.
omg I stop staking out for 5 minutes and I miss it?!

It took a while, but it's finally there. Now it's just a matter of holding on to its position as the lead is still very small.
Pretty mediocre #1 imo
And Bingo Players surge back into the Top 10 with 'Get Up (Rattle) [feat. Far East Movement]' at #10
Also, MKTO at #5 with Thank You

And Nelly at #7 with Hey Porsche
P!nk still manages to hold on to a Top 2 spot with 'Just Give Me A Reason (feat. Nate Ruess)' at #2! This has to be my favourite song of 2013 so far
I think you're getting duped by the missing explicit song(s) on that link again. Refer to this one http://kworb.net/popau/
Thanks! Love all the songs in the actual Top 10, and even up to 13

I love/am glad that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have had 3 #1 singles, and from an independent record label too (named after Macklemore himself), but I really 'detest' Same Love

There was no good songs left on Wild Ones after the first 3 singles. That album needs to stop flipping out singles before theres no more to flip out. There's only 10 tracks on it. Sweet Spot has to be the worst song on there apart from Run. Hopefully it will quickly chart then die harder than a Delta Goodrem single like Let It Roll did.

It's at 98%?!?!?!
I can't find Firework but it's double charting #96 & #130 on Pop so you know it's pretty high overall! Also go here now.
