Returning for a twelfth week at No.1 on the ARIA Singles Chart is “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, which now becomes the equal longest running No.1 this century alongside Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” (Dec. 2002).

“Happy” returns to the top for a third run at No.1, the last song to notch up three runs at the chart pinnacle was October 2011’s “Sexy and I Know it” for LMFAO (6 weeks, 1 week, 2 weeks), plus Pharrell also becomes the artist with the ‘Most Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 2010’s’ for this decade, notching up his 21st accumulated week at No.1, and surpassing Rihanna’s 20 weeks for this decade. He also moves from 32nd to equal 29th on the list of ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 1940 to 2014’ alongside Bryan Adams (from 4 No.1’s). And if “Happy” stays for one more week, it’ll match the all-time ARIA record for most weeks at No.1, that being Coolio with “Gangsta’s Paradise” (1995) at thirteen weeks, whilst he is only two weeks away from the all-time (rock-era 1955 onwards) longevity record held by Abba with “Fernando” (14 weeks from 5-April-1976) which went to the top this week 38 years ago.

Rising back up to No.2 for a fifth non-consecutive week are Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne with “Rather Be”, whilst US DJ’s The Chainsmokers rise two places to a new peak of No.3 with “#SELFIE”, the song scoring a Gold (●) sales certification. Last weeks No.1 for 5 Seconds of Summer (No.1 in England, Ireland and New Zealand too) drops back to No.4 this week, whilst Gabrielle Aplin is up a couple of places to a new peak of No.5 with “The Power of Love” (also Gold ●).

Picking up a ▲ Platinum certification is David Guetta and Skylar Grey with “Shot Me Down”, which drops two spots to No.6 this week, whilst up one place each to new peaks of No.7 and No.8 are Peking Duk with “High” and Calvin Harris with “Summer”, respectively. Sara Bareilles drops three places to No.9 with “Brave”, but landing her first solo (and fourth overall) Top 10 placing is Sia with “Chandelier”, up three places this week to No.10. Her previous entries were “Titanium” (HP-5, with David Guetta), “I Love it” (HP-6, with The Hilltop Hoods) and “Wild Ones” (HP-1, with Flo Rida).

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: DVBBS and Borgeous swim up four places to a new peak of No.11 with “Tsunami (Jump)”, and landing new Top 20 positions this week are Zendaya with “Replay”, up five places to No.17 and up ten spots to No.18 are Sheppard with “Geronimo”, which matches the peak that their self-titled EP reached back in July of 2013. Route 94 are up eleven places to No.23 with “My Love”, with the next new peak coming at the edge of the Top 40, Justin Timberlake’s new track “Not a Bad Thing” bullets up the charts forty-six places to land at No.39 and “Strong” for London Grammar is back up to No.36 thanks to them performing the track on last Sunday’s ‘Graham Norton Show’. MKTO are up two places to a new peak of No.43 with “American Dream”, and with the new self titled album for Shakira landing a Top 10 debut this week (#8), her duet with Rihanna “Can’t Remember to Forget You” is back up eight places to No.48.

DOWN DOWN: The only song to leave the Top 10 this week is Pitbull and G.R.L. with “Wild Wild Love” (now Gold ●) after one week at No.10, whilst another couple of acts picking up new Gold this week are Coldplay with “Magic” (11 to 14) and Taylor Henderson with “When You Were Mine” (14 to 16). “Free” by Rudimental and Emeli Sande drops down to No.22 (now 3x▲ Platinum), whilst dropping six places to No.27 are Neon Jungle with “Braveheart”. Idina Menzel and her rendition of “Let it Go” is down to No.34, but now ▲ Platinum in sales, whilst also picking up a Platinum certification are Cash Cash with “Take Me Home”, down eight places to No.38 this week. Eminem and Nate Ruess fall eight places to No.41 with “Headlights”, and Lily Allen is losing air fast, as her “Air Balloon” is down ten places to No.47, although it does pick up Gold (●) for sales. After debuting at No.39 last week, Illy is down thirteen places to No.52 with “Tightrope” and picking up a 5x▲ Platinum is “The Monster” with Eminem and Rihanna, which is down nine places to No.58, whilst Nathaniel drops nineteen places to No.59 with “You’re Beautiful”.

Joel Fletcher lands the highest new entry of the week, teaming up with Seany B on his new track “Loco”, which is new at No.13, whilst his former No.2 single “Swing” with Savage is sitting at No.24 this week, this new entry becoming Joel’s third ARIA Singles chart entry. A further local act debuting at No.32 is X-Factor third-placed artist Jai Waetford with “Get to Know You” which becomes his eight Top 100 appearance and third Top 40 placing, whilst a few places lower at No.35 is local DJ, Havana Brown with “Whatever We Want”, which samples the Basement Jaxx track “Where’s Your Head at” (HP-16, peak Jan 2002). This becomes her eighth Top 100 placing and sixth Top 40 chart appearance, with the final Top 50 debut coming from UK band The Vamps at No.37 with “Last Night”, now their second Top 40 placing and third Top 100 entry, with their first single “Can We Dance” dropping out this week, having peaked at No.17 and spending twenty weeks within the hundred.

Lower 50: After two weeks at No.69, “Gooey” for Glass Animals is up fifteen places to a new peak of No.54, whilst climbing a few places to No.60 is Chris Brown with “Loyal”, as too up a couple of places are DJ Snake with “Turn Down for What”, now at a new peak of No.64. Passenger is back up eighteen places to No.74 with his former No.1 “Let Her Go” (No.1 this week in 2013) ahead of his new track “Whispers” entering soon, and climbing again for a third week is Asgeir with “King and Cross”, up four places to No.90, and there are no returning tracks this week.

The Black Keys are due to release their eighth studio album “Turn Blue” in mid-May, and the first single from the album debuts at No.65 entitled “Fever”, becoming the bands fourth Top 100 entry, whilst landing his first solo entry at No.76 is Sam Smith with the former UK No.1 single “Money on My Mind”, which is his third chart appearance overall, as he did guest vocals on the Disclosure song “Latch” (HP-49, peaked Feb 2013) and on the Naughty Boy track “La La La” (HP-5, peaked August 2013).

Both Enrique Iglesias and Kylie Minogue’s new albums feature their duet “Beautiful”, which this week enters at No.78, and from their self-titled EP comes the track “Delete” at No.84 for DMA’s, a three piece group from Newtown, Sydney. Lady Gaga debuts at No.88 with her new epic track “G.U.Y.”, and after their recent tour here, 30 Seconds of Mars enter at No.93 with “City of Angels”, becoming the bands seventh Top 100 entry, and first new entry in 53 weeks, as on April 1st, 2013 they debuted and peaked at No.68 with “Up in the Air”. Scoring his fifth ARIA Singles chart appearance (third as lead artist) at No.99 is Trey Songz with “Na Na”, and coming in at 100 with the first single from the forthcoming ‘The Amazing Spiderman 2’ soundtrack is local act Tonight Alive with “The Edge”, the bands second chart entry, as back in late March of 2013 they hit No.66 with “Breakdown”, which feature Benji Madden as guest vocalist.

INXS maintain a sixth non-consecutive week at No.1 on the ARIA Albums chart with their compilation set “The Very Best of”, which is helped by the recent release of the TV mini-series on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The album now becomes INXS’ longest running No.1 album of their career, beating the five weeks that their first number one album “The Swing” achieved back in 1984. It also takes their tally of weeks at No.1 to fifteen, moving them from 39th to equal 36th on the list of ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums 1965-2014’ alongside Matchbox 20 (also with four albums) and Split Enz (from 3 #1’s). It’s also the longest run at the top since Pink notched up ten broken weeks (from four runs at the top) with her set “The Truth About Love”.

Debuting at No.2 with their fourth album are US heavy-metal (parody too) act Steel Panther with the album entitled “All You Can Eat”, surpassing their previous chart entry (album #3) “Balls Out” (HP-50, peaked March 2012), with their December 2013 tour of Australia being recorded for an upcoming release too. Holding at No.3 is the “Frozen” soundtrack, and then at No.4 is Johnny Cash with some missing recordings on his new set “Out Among the Stars”. The material was recorded in the early 1980’s around the time of his ‘The Baron’ recordings. This becomes his fifth Top 10 appearance, but first album of new material to hit the Top 10 since the 1970 album “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash” (HP-9, May), as his Top 10 appearances since then have been via The Highwaymen (HP-9, July 1991) and then on the compilations “Ring of Fire: The Best of” (HP-10, peaked late Feb 2006) and the soundtrack for the film ‘Walk the Line” (HP-2, peaked March 2006), plus its Johnny’s first ever Top 10 debut in Australia.

After climbing back up to No.2 last week, Pharrell Williams’ “G I R L” is down to No.5, and after peaking at No.4 last week, Skrillex with “Recess” drops down to No.6, whilst also down a couple of places is “Prism” for Katy Perry to No.7. Entering at No.8 is the self-titled tenth album “Shakira”, which also becomes her third entry and third Top 10 album, as she spent two broken weeks at the top with “Laundry Service” (from February 2002) and “Oral Fixation Volume 2” (HP-9, peaked late July 2006). London Grammar appeared on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ last Sunday night, and that has helped their album “If You Wait” to jump back up eight places to No.9 this week, whilst the recent national tour for the John Butler Trio sees their current album “Flesh & Blood” back up five places to No.10.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: Gabrielle Aplin blasts up ten places to a new peak of No.14 with her album “English Rain”, helped by her recent promo tour here, whilst leaping back up forty-five places to No.19 are Troy & Adam with “The Great Country Songbook”. The soundtrack to the Channel 9 TV Series ‘Love Child” is back up seven places to a new peak of No.22 this week, and jumping up twenty-three spots to No.26 are Violent Soho with their “Hungry Ghost” (HP-6) album. 30 Seconds to Mars’ tour here helps their former No.4 album “Love, Lust, Faith +Dreams” to jump back up twenty-three places to No.29 and the self-titled album for Taylor Henderson is back up seven places to No.30 this week. Bliss N’ Eso see their former No.1 album “Circus in the Sky” climb back up twenty-six spots to No.37 and after their recent promo visit, A Great Big World are up thirteen places to No.38 with “Is There Anybody There?” (HP-33). Pink returns to the Top 50 with her “Greatest Hits… So Far” set, up thirty-five places to No.44 and back within the Top 100 at No.45 is Fleetwood Mac with “The Very Best of”, still the longest charting album in ARIA history, now up 342 weeks, also back up thirty-two spots to No.48 is the compilation “The Essential” for Michael Jackson.

DOWN DOWN: After two weeks within the Top 10, Kylie Minogue is down five places to No.11 with “Kiss Me Once” (HP-1x1), and also spending two weeks within the ten was Asgeir with “In the Silence” (HP-8), down seven to No.15. After returning last week, both “Pure Heroine” for Lorde (9 to 13) and Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” (7 to 17) leave the Top 10 again, whilst the fifth and final Top 10 dropout is Kate Miller-Heidke with “O Vertigo!” (HP-4) which plummets twenty-three places to No.33 this week after two weeks within the ten. George Michael and his “Symphonica” album drop’s down four places to No.16 and “Home” by Rudimental drops seven to No.20. With their national tour now occurring in late October, The Rolling Stones’ “GRRR!” is down ten places to No.36, with Foster the People falling seventeen spots to No.42 with “Supermodel”, and one place lower last weeks highest new entry at No.11, “May Death Never Stop You” for My Chemical Romance tumbles thirty-two spots to No.43. The War on Drugs tumbles down thirteen spots to No.47 with “Lost in the Dream” and after jumping up last week, Daft Punk drop back fourteen places to No.49 with “Random Access Memories”. Further drops come from INXS with “Kick” (39 to 52), Lea Michele (33 to 55), Flume (36 to 60), Haim (42 to 61), Pink (40 to 63), Rufus (41 to 64), Enrique Iglesias (23 to 67), Avicii with his remix album (16 to 69), Aloe Blacc (19 to 79), The Pretty Reckless (20 to 88), Ellie Goulding (45 to 92), Keith Urban (50 to 94) and falling out from last weeks Top 50 are Hillsong United (#38) and La Dispute (#43).

The second album for Canberra house duo The Aston Shuffle debuts at No.12 entitled “Photographs”, far surpassing the No.45 peak their debut album “Seventeen Past Midnight” achieved in late April 2011. Also entering with their second album is Christina Perri, new at No.23 with “Head or Heart”, with her debut set “Lovestrong” climbing to No.5 in mid-July 2011. And landing their second entry (with their third album) is Band of Skulls at No.24 with “Himalayan”, which beats the No.35 debut and peak that their previous entry “Sweet Sour” achieved in February 2012.

New at No.25 are local act Architecture in Helsinki with their fifth studio album (fourth album to chart) entitled “Now + 4Eva”, with the previous entries being “In Case We Die” (HP-67, April 2005), “Place Like This” (HP-30, Aug 2007) and “Moment Bends” (HP-12, April 2011). The recently screened 100th episode for the Channel 11 series “Glee” sees the soundtrack enter at No.35 entitled “Glee: The Music - Celebrating 100 Episodes”; the 21st Albums chart entry for the TV show. New at No.40 is the debut album “Pocketknife” for Mr. Little Jeans, a pseudonym for Norwegian singer Monica Birkenes, and coming in at No.46 is another debut album “Pulses” for Karmin.

RE-PEAK12th Week @ #11^12171Pharrell Williams - Happy <P>6

Top 10323345
Top 20421335
15 Weeks in the top 2. Fernando spent 18 in the top 2 fourteen of them at #01. Since the digital age a large amount of records have snuffed it.
"Happy" will be the #01 of 2014 unless an Elton John happens. If it is able to become either the longest running #01, longest top 10 charting single or whatever record pharrell achieves is fine. The song is actually good & has come from someone in their 40's that deserves the success
Has Rather Be been de-certified? I haven't seen it's ▲ the last couple of weeks...
I think they're just forgetting to post it, It is still platinum on ARIA's website.
