Meghan Trainor and John Legend are at No.1 for a fourth week in Australia, as their ballad “Like I’m Gonna Love You” maintains its lead over yet another onslaught of songs vying for the top spot.

With a fourth week logged at the top, John Legend now has his longest stay at No.1 on the ARIA Singles chart, as his previous chart-topping single “All of Me” (Dec 2013) spent three weeks at the chart summit. This fourth week also gives John an accumulated total at No.1 of seven weeks placing him 13th on the list ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 2010’s Singles’ whilst Meghan is now equal 11th alongside Guy Sebastian who has also notched up eight weeks in total this decade.

The Weeknd has three reasons to rejoice this week, as his single “Can’t Feel My Face” is up a place to a new peak of No.2, the track is now certified Gold (●) in sales and thirdly it is the new No.1 streaming track in the country. Also scoring a new peak is last weeks highest new entry, “Are You With Me” by Lost Frequencies, which blasts up sixteen places to No.3 in its second week on the chart. These two rises push down last weeks No.2 song “Headlights” for Robin Schulz and Ilsey to No.4, and it also picks up a Gold (●) in sales this week.

Climbing three places to a new chart height of No.5 is Galantis with “Peanut Butter Jelly”, with this now becoming only the second song with ‘Jelly’ in its title to reach the Top 10, the other was back in late February of 1970 when “Jam Up Jelly Tight” by Tommy Roe climbed to No.5 (No.4 on the Go-Set charts), whilst for the record there has been no Peanut Butter in the Top 10 (or Peanuts or Butter separately). Back up one place to No.6 is Rachel Platten with her “Fight Song” and dropping two spots to No.7 are Walk the Moon with “Shut Up + Dance”. Returning to the Top 10, back up seven places to No.8, are Major Lazer and Ellie Goulding with “Powerful”, one place lower than its former peak, and after peaking at No.4 last week, Travie McCoy and Sia fall back five places to No.9 with “Golden” with “Watch Me” for Silento rounding out the Top 10 at No.10, down one spot from last week.

UP: Fifth Harmony and Kid Ink are up one spot to a new peak of No.11 with “Worth it” and after falling out of the Top 20 last week, Selena Gomez and A$AP Rocky climb back up six spots to No.18 with “Good for You”, whilst Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” is back up two places to No.20 this week. Pia Mia with Chris Brown and Tyga jumps up eleven places to a new peak of No.22 with “Do it Again” and the next new peak doesn’t occur until No.39, as The Weeknd sees his former No.49 song “The Hills” this week leap back up twenty spots to a new peak of No.39. With the debut album for Years & Years taking out the highest new entry of the week, their former Top 10 single “King” is back up eighteen places to No.40 and last weeks debut of “Shine” holds at No.48, and the final entry to the Top 50 this week is former JLS lead singer Aston Merrygold who is up thirteen places to No.50 with “Get Stupid”.

DOWN: The new No.1 single in the UK (as of their Friday) is “Black Magic” (HP-8, WI10-3) for Little Mix, which here is down a couple of places to No.12, with the other dropout being former No.1 “Bad Blood” (HP-1x3, WI10-8) which falls seven spots to No.13 for Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. After hanging around in the Top 15 for the past four weeks Jessie J is down five to No.19 with her “Flashlight” and after leaving the Top 10 last week, Grace leaves the Top 20 this week with “You Don’t Own Me” falling eight to No.21, and her brothers first chart entry “Firestone” with Kygo is down four to No.24. Rufus fall six to No.36 with “You Were Right” and only down two spots to No.43 are Maroon 5 with “Sugar”, which this week is newly certified 3x▲Platinum, with a big drop of thirteen places to No.49 for Birds of Tokyo and their EP “Anchor”.

The first new entry for 2015 for Canberra EDM act Peking Duk is this weeks highest new entry at No.29, “Say My Name”, with “High” (HP-5) and “Take me Over” (HP-6) both making it into the Top 10 last year. A few places lower at No.31 is the return of Ginuwine with his April 1997 No.3 single “Pony”, which is featured in the new “Magic Mike XXL” film and soundtrack. The final Top 50 entry this week is an EP for The Voice Season 1 contestant Lakyn (Heperi) who comes in at No.44 with his fifth Top 50 appearance “Not Original Material (EP)”.

Lower 50: After falling a little last week, Fetty Wap is back up ten places to a new peak of No.51 with “Trap Queen” and holding at his No.55 entry from last week with “Freedom” is Pharrell Williams, who also achieves 10x▲Platinum for this weeks longest charting single “Happy” (82 weeks in the Top 100), which is down nine to No.90. Rihanna drops back down ten places to No.56 with “Bitch Better Have My Money”, which is newly certified Gold (●), up eleven to a new peak of No.59 are Pitbull and Chris Brown with “Fun”, whilst last weeks returned track of “Masterpiece” for Jessie J is back down eleven to No.63 but is now ▲Platinum, whilst the final new certification in the lower fifty goes to Kendrick Lamar and “King Kunta” which is down one place to No.78 and now Gold (●) in sales. The film “The Great Gatsby” was screened on Wednesday night, and the song “Young & Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey has returned this week at No.83, with further returns being “Lanterns” for Birds of Tokyo at No.86, “GDFR” for Flo Rida at No.95, “Chandelier” by Sia at No.96 and back in at #100 is Ed Sheeran with “Bloodstream”.

Rudimental are set to release their second album in mid-September entitled “We the Generation”, and from that album comes this weeks No.68 entry “Rumour Mill” which features the vocals of Anne-Marie and Will Heard. SAFIA’s new song enters one place lower at No.69 and it’s the title of their upcoming tour also, “Embracing Me”, which they will start after their appearances at ‘Splendor in the Grass’ in Bryon Bay next weekend.

The third consecutive debut is at No.70, UK metal act Bring Me the Horizon are due for a fifth studio album later this year, and the first taste from that new set is entitled “Happy Song” and it becomes the bands second Top 100 entry. Further hardcore music comes in at No.87, this time by local act The Amity Affliction who enter with “Skeletons”, which gives the boys from Brisbane their fifth chart entry and the final entry at No.94 is the second for Eminem from the new Jake Gyllenhaal boxing film ‘Southpaw’, this new one is called “Kings Never Die”, and features Gwen Stefani as guest vocalist.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------//---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both ARIA Charts maintain their No.1’s this week, as John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John are at the top for a third straight week with their album “Two Strong Hearts”, the album picking up a Gold (●) in sales too.

John increases his tally of weeks at No.1 in Australia to 49 weeks (four behind his nearest rival Dire Straits on 53 accumulated weeks at the top), whilst Olivia climbs from 46th to equal 42nd as she has now notched up 13 weeks at No.1 alongside Led Zeppelin and Midnight Oil (four #1’s), Taylor Swift (three), James Blunt and Susan Boyle (two each) who have all previously racked up thirteen weeks at No.1 in Australia.

“Two Strong Hearts” also becomes the third longest running No.1 for 2015. In equal second place are the ’50 Shades of Grey’ soundtrack and “Spirit of the ANZACS” for Lee Kernaghan at four weeks at the top, whilst “1989” for Taylor Swift is the current leader having notched up five weeks so far this year (that will probably increase when she tours here later in the year).

The top four albums all hold their places from last week, with “Title” for Meghan Trainor at No.2, “x” by Ed Sheeran at No.3 and “1989” by Taylor Swift at No.4. The highest new entry occurs at No.5, the new UK No.1 album, and the debut release for British act Years & Years entitled “Communion”, which features the current Top 50 songs “King” (HP-9, TW-40) and “Shine” (TW-48). Right behind them at No.6 is the third studio album for local rapper Tuka (from Thundamentals), whose new album “Life Death Time Eternal” becomes his second chart entry and first Top 10 entry, as his second set “Feedback Loop” made it to No.92 in November 2012.

Florence + the Machine fall two places to No.7 with “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” and down one spot to No.8 is Sam Smith with “In the Lonely Hour” whilst Mumford & Sons hold at No.9 with “Wilder Minds”, helped by their tour announcement for November this past week. Leaping back into the Top 10, up fifteen places to No.10 is INXS with “The Very Best”, making it the albums 22nd week in the Top 10; it was last this high back in January.

UP: Fleetwood Mac are touring again in October, but this week their 2002 collection “The Very Best of” returns to the Top 100 at No.11, which also gives the longest charting album in ARIA Chart History (at 375 weeks), its new peak, as the album previously made it to No.16 in December 2009 when the band toured around that time. Sia is spending her one year anniversary by moving up to No.12 with “1000 Forms of Fear”. David Bowie’s repackaged single disc edition of “Nothing Has Changed: The Best of” blasts up twenty-four places to a new peak of No.14 and back up six to No.20 are The Hilltop Hoods with “Walking Under Stars”. Bon Jovi leap up forty-six places to No.25 with their “Greatest Hits” set and jumping back up fourteen places to No.29 is James Taylor with “Before This World”, and The Voice judge Jessie J is back up fifteen places to No.31 with “Sweet Talker”. Three of the four returning albums into the Top 50 this week score new peaks, with the “Greatest Hits” set for Notorious B.I.G. blasting back into the Top 100 at No.36, the “Home” soundtrack is back in at a new peak of No.40 after the recent DVD and Blu-Ray release, whilst “Pure Heroine” for Lorde returns to the hundred at No.41, and finally up twenty-eight places to a new chart-height of No.45 (and first week in the Top 50) is Neil Diamond with “All Time Greatest Hits”.

DOWN: The three albums dropping out of the Top 10 all do so in dramatic style, with “Empires” (HP-1x1, WI-10-4) for Hillsong United, which drops sixteen places to No.22 and the album becomes the churches equal longest running Top 10 album, as their July 2008 set “This is Our God” (HP-2) also notched up four weeks within the ten. The two debuts into the Top 10 last week fall out after only a single week, with “Wildheart” for Miguel dropping thirty-one spots to No.39 and The Getaway Plan with “Dark Horses” is down eighty-five places to No.95. After leaping up last week, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” album is back down nine spots to No.31 and halving its position from last week by dropping sixteen to No.32 is Leon Bridges with “Coming Home”. Kendrick Lamar is down seven to No.34 with “To Pimp a Butterfly”, with the album picking up a Gold (●) in sales this week too. The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ soundtrack drops eight to No.37, but falling fifteen to No.43 are Of Monsters and Men with “Beneath the Skin”. “Yuck” for Alpine drops thirteen places to No.48, “35 Biggest Hits” for Tim McGraw is down fifteen to No.49 and falling thirteen to No.50 is Adam Lambert with “The Original High”. The albums falling out of the fifty this week come from Thy Art is Murder (30 to 54), A$AP Rocky (47 to 57), AC/DC (24 to 65), Neil Young (23 to 71), Tori Kelly (44 to 72), London Grammar (33 to 76), Breaking Benjamin (39 to 78), Meek Mill (42 to 81) and falling out the hundred from last weeks fifty are Alabama Shakes with “Sound & Color” (#32).

LA five-piece pop band R5 see their second album “Sometime Last Night” become their first chart entry in Australia, coming in at No.19 this week. The one-woman four male member band all have names starting with R, expect one whose surname starts with an R. UK act Cradle of Filth see their eleventh studio album “Hammer of the Witches” enter at No.28 this week becoming the acts first entry since their ninth set “Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa” made it to No.89 in November 2010, whilst it becomes the bands sixth Top 100 and fourth Top 50 album, plus by debuting so high it also becomes the bands highest charting album in Australia.

The fifth studio album for Owl City debuts at No.33 entitled “Mobile Orchestra”, becoming his fourth album to chart in Australia, all three previous entries charting within the Top 40 or higher. His former entries were “Ocean Eyes” (LP#2, HP-14, peaked February 2010), “All Things Bright and Beautiful” (LP#3, HP-33, peaked June 2011) and “The Midsummer Station” (LP#4, HP-29, peaked August 2012).

Lower 50: “Sol Invictus” for Faith No More is back up twenty-two places to No.61 and “21” by Adele is up twenty-seven to No.62, whilst the new Amity Affliction singles chart entry helps to bring back their previous album “Let the Ocean Take Me” at No.66. Zac Brown Band climb back up eleven places to No.75 with “Jekyll + Hyde” and up twenty places to No.80 is Drake with “If You’re Reading This it’s Too Late”. Further returning albums are Mariah Carey with “#1 to Infinity” (#83), “Ceremonials” for Florence + the Machine (#84), Fleetwood Mac with their 1989 “Greatest Hits” set (#86), “The Best of” for Blur at No.98 and “My Everything” for Ariana Grande (#99).

There are two new entries in the lower fifty this week, with Cody Simpson coming in at No.74 with the independently released album “Free”, which becomes his fourth albums chart entry (one EP and three LPs). The other entry comes in at No.97 and is the soundtrack to the newly released film from author John Green entitled “Paper Towns”. His previously written film “The Fault in Our Stars” saw its soundtrack climb to No.11 in June 2014.

Nice for The Hills! Didn't even register that King would rebound this week lol

Ouch, hopefully a rebound for it next week!

Wasn't *too* far off with my prediction. It's amusing to see that it's top 50 again even if I'm not a huge fan.

One of those Singles I thought I would like and was then let down.
^^ are we talking about Flashlight? It only needs two more #2 weeks to equal Albatraoz which had the same amount of weeks as Stand By You (SBY has less BOAT points tho)

Hear them all here - http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2015/01/every-aria-top-100-single-in-2015.html
Surprising Magic Mike XXL wasn't allowed to chart. Was it because of the lack of a physical release? Because it had pretty strong digital sales all week...
@LIFTER500 5SOS won't even be top 5, let alone #1.
Is is just me or is ARIA not updating their site?
ARIA just being slow to update

Embracing Me and Rumour Mill Kinda sad that Bring Me The Horizon song couldn't chart as high as the far inferior Drown did

OK those #1 sales make me feel safer for Tame Impala next week Also glad to see streaming numbers looking accurate for the first time in a while.
Relieved that #1 album sales didn't drop below the 3,600 mark. It'll be nice to see Tame Impala sell five figures again at #1 though next week.

Sales below the Top 7 are really dire though.

Like I'm Gonna Lose You is the lowest selling #1 digital single since Rihanna's Rude Boy.
OMG that's pathetic

Is that sales only or including streams?

It's even worse in the US. Selena Gomez's GFY is the highest debut with ~164K. Last year it was Problem with 400+
^ It is sales only.
Accreditations seem to be pretty on point in 2015.

These need updating for the 2015 list though

Should be ● or just a little bit off.
Philip George - Wish You Were Mine.
Wretch 32 - 6 Words.
Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You.
Tori Kelly - Nobody Love.

Should be ▲ or just a little bit off.
Ariana Grande - One Last Time.
Weeknd - Earned It.
Robin Schulz & Jasmine Thompson - Sun Goes Down.
Nick Jonas - Jealous.

Should be ▲2 or just a little bit off.
Skrillex, Diplo & Justin Bieber - Where Are U Now.
Avicii & Nicholas Furlong - The Nights.
Sam Smith & John Legend - Lay Me Down.
Galantis - Runaway (U & I).
Charlie Puth & Meghan Trainor - Marvin Gaye.

Should be ▲3 or just a little bit off.
Major Lazer, MO & Dj Snake - Lean On.

Just thought I'd mention G.R.L. have officially split.

Good about the sales only thing. Maybe streaming needs to be strengthened so that we have numbers similar to 2013

@ G.R.L. Was looking forward to hopefully seeing 5H, LM and GRL have a three-way battle to be the biggest girl group.
Someone said above that they are amazed at Shut Up & Dance's longevity in the top 10. I just noticed it is being used for the House Husbands ads which I guess would help sales somewhat.
