Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are spending a third week at No.1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with their fourth chart-topping single “Downtown”.

“Downtown” helps the pair to notch up an overall fifteenth accumulated week at No.1 making them the fourth act on the list of ‘Most Weeks at No.1: 2010’s’ behind LMFAO and the pair tied for first place Rihanna and Pharrell Williams with 21 weeks so far this decade. If they stay for a further week they will tie with their previous four week run from Jan/Feb of 2013 with “Same Love”.

The top four songs from last week all hold their place this week, with Justin’s former No.1 “What Do You Mean?” at No.2, Ellie Goulding spending a second week at No.3 with “On My Mind” and Robin Schulz with Francesco Yates and their cover of “Sugar” at No.4, which peaked at No.3 two weeks ago and beats the peak of the earlier charting ‘Sugar’ (HP-6x3) we had from Maroon 5 back in early March, whilst it now becomes the third highest charting ‘sugar’ song in Australian chart history, the two which charted higher are (pre-ARIA) “Sugar Baby Love” by The Rubettes (HP-2x3, peaked August 1974) and “Sugar Shack” by Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs (HP-1x3, peaked 23-Nov-1963) and the original “Suga Suga” by Baby Bash also reached No.3 when it charted back in April of 2004.

Drake lands his first Top 5 single in Australia as “Hotline Bling” is up a place to a new peak of No.5, the song’s sample of “Why Can’t We Be Together” for Timmy Thomas only peaked at No.25 in August of 1973 (pre-ARIA). Landing the first Top 10 single from this season of the X-Factor is current front runner Cyrus Villanueva whose mentor Chris Isaak got him to cover his 1991 hit “Wicked Game” and it debuts at No.6 this week, making it the songs first appearance in the Australian Top 10, as Chris’s version made it to No.15 in late April of 1991, and then last year Parra for Cuva with Anna Naklab did an EDM version which climbed to No.14 in late November.

Rudimental land their fourth Top 10 single this week as their Ed Sheeran infused track “Lay it All on Me” is up four places to No.7, plus it also becomes the eleventh Top 10 for Ed and his third this year, whilst making their first Top 10 appearance in rapper Dawin with his track “Dessert”, which jumps nine spots to land at a new peak of No.8. R. City and Adam Levine are down two places to No.9 with “Locked Away” and the fourth and final entry to the ten this week is The Weeknd with “The Hills” which climbs two places to No.10 becoming his second entry to the Top 10 after “Can’t Feel My Face” went to No.2 (TW-18) back in late July for three weeks.

UP: LunchMoney Lewis is up two places to a new peak of No.11 with his song “Whip it!” and thanks to her X-Factor performance and promo visit to Australia, Jess Glynne is up twelve places to a new chart peak of No.12 with “Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself” which previously peaked at No.17 for two weeks back in late September. Disclosure and Lorde debuted at No.20 last week and climb four to a new peak of No.16 with “Magnets”, whilst Sia is back up four spots to No.21 with “Alive”. With the new Selena Gomez album debuting in the top three, her track “Good for You” is back up four spots to No.24, whilst Fetty Wap leaps back into the Top 50 with “679” (former peak #46), this week flying back up forty-three places to a new peak of No.27 {two places lower than his “Trap Queen” has so far reached}. Naughty Boy and Beyonce are up one spot to No.29 with “Runnin’ (Lose it All)” and after debuting at No.42 last week, Birds of Tokyo new track “I’d Go With You Anywhere” is up eleven spots to a new chart height of No.31. Duke Dumont’s EP “Blasé Boys Club” climbs five to No.33 and thanks to their promo tour and X-Factor performance on Tuesday, the latest Little Mix track “Love Me Like You” bullets up sixty-four spots to land within the Top 40 at No.36. Jarryd James’ first track “Do You Remember” is back into the Top 100 at No.39 thanks to Jess & Matt singing the song as a duet on X-Factor on Monday and also returning to the Top 50 is one of the other current charting single for Selena Gomez “Same Old Love” (HP-42), which rebounds thirty-two places to No.44 this week.

DOWN: The only new certification this week is the first of four Top 10 dropouts, OMI and his “Hula Hoop” (HP-8, WI10-3), which is down five to No.13 and newly Gold (●) in sales, “The Fix” (HP-3, WI10-7) by Nelly and Jeremih falls four to No.14 and is spending its first chart-week outside of the Top 10, whilst down six to No.15 is Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” (HP-3, WI10-7), and lastly Jessica Mauboy descends fourteen spots to No.19 with “This Ain’t Love” (HP-5, WI10-2). Lost Frequencies debuts at No.86 with their second entry “Reality” featuring guest vocalist Janieck Devy, with the acts first entry “Are You With Me” (HP-1x2) sitting at No.32 this week. I'd love to know how much Chocolate has sold; it's weird that it never charted here.

Also hi Bowie/INXS

84-65-48-52-60-48-37-32-34-25-28
Still more successful then anticipated.

63-86-78-76-67-61-64-60-54-46-54-70-27
lol at almost outpeaking Trap Queen. I'd rather it not tbh
Looks like its streams are counting again! Between this & Violent Soho, a good week for things that are like soda ~

also jam city.
26v323616Troye Sivan - Wild

16-16-24-20-23-26
so it'll move two spots each week for the next 3 weeks then?
Apparently the video to FOOLS is a sequel to the video for this.

Ah, had no idea what part 3 was going to be.
lol
23v518112Nico & Vinz (feat Kid Ink & Bebe Rexha) - That's How You Know <P>

37-16-07-02-08-05-05-05-17-18-23
One of the least successful #2 peakers this year
For someone who before November last year had never made the top 40, Selena Gomez is really excelling and becoming a challenge to the biggest pop stars, not something i expected

Piss off Nico & Vinz

It really feels like a transitioning period where all the biggest pop stars are now the child stars of around 5 years ago, especially in the US charts.

It should be noted that Ariana Grande is NOT from Disney in case you were thinking it.
Yeah but Rihanna, Gaga, Beyonce, Katy, Taylor cans till be relied on to get a couple of big hits per era, particularly Taylor
21v21986Felix Jaehn - Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) <G>

21-12-10-08-06-11-19-21
Suppose the future will tell. I reckon all of their career peaks are behind them at this point though.
I agree but until Selena starts to see 200k+ weeks i wouldn't regard her as huge. She only sold ~87k this week in the US, or ~117k with TEA.
20v515131Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love <P>

Somehow I feel this is as successful as Selena will end it being tbh.
But we will see.
@Lifter, she's the sole reason I had it as 'Disney (etc)' before I thought maybe to scrap that because then we can also include Bieber etc.

Lets just group them as the under 25's Hijinx.
lol I had no idea whether Sony would buy it another week in the top 10 or not
That leads to people like Lorde and Sam Smith being grouped in there too though which is silly Lifter
18v414182The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face <P>2

I see nothing wrong with including them, they are a part of this current bunch of younger music stars.
Having Lorde, Sam Smith, Felix Jaehn, Demi Lovato & Fetty Wap in one group sounds too silly IMO

So I am told that The Hills - Remixes is #101 this week, which I presume is sales for when people bought both remixes together (which I believe display as sales for the Eminem remix on the iTunes chart) because the Eminem remix is top 40 on the digital chart. I still don't think the clean version sales are counting BUT the important thing is that it's top 10

Also apparently if the #101 remixes were combined with this, it would be #8.

Mess at ARIA doing things inconsistently again, utterly hopeless
It's a shame to see ARIA regress so much ever since 2012's Voice disaster.
Do they respond to emails? if someone emails them they might fix the future charts though i can't see them editing old ones
Also kind of crazy is that The Hills isn't even the slowest climb to the top 10 this year. Kygo took one week longer

ARIA have fixed charts after they've been published before (eg "The Suburbs"'s 2nd week, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool's album debut, "Yeezus"'s debut).

wow sales are low
Pointless facts/stats, 5SOS get their 5th lead artist chart debut this year which ties them with Disclosure for the most this year

(Chris Brown has a big lead if you include features )
I remember reading somewhere a few days ago that a major artist will receive ~$200k for a one verse feature. Chris Brown must truly be rolling in $
Also hang on, The Game doesn't even appear on the album chart this week?!
ARIA is a real mess this week. Between The Game not even charting for whatever reason, The Hills' clean version not counted into those real sales and their website being not updated...
Sent them an email, seems as if ARIA have a dislike for Urban music. What a joke
I thought maybe it had something to do with The Documentary 2.5 being released yesterday, so ARIA figures they'll just combine the sales next week. That doesn't really explain its missing figures this week though. What is the deal with their site still not being updated?
With any luck, the delayed release of the charts could mean a re-issue is already in order.

Though their weekly Facebook post is still there.
^ Perhaps. You can this week's charts if you click on the printable versions though.
Ah, that wasn't the case when I looked before.

lol Wings. Nice little rebound for Like An Animal. Lol Who You Lovin just missing the top 50. Pity Be Right There is #51 but at least it has a top 50 peak unlike most great songs that end up at #51
Poor today's the day? It's a tv song, and that's probably why it's dropping because pink fans will put up with a lot,but not new material passed off as a tv feem toon

Next 20 (not mentioned above)
101 * The Hills (Remixes) - The Weeknd
102 - Hold My Hand - Jess Glynne
104 - Here - Alessia Cara
105 - Automatic - Zhu feat AlunaGeorge
106 * Ignition - Jess & Matt (XF performance)
110 - Chandelier - Sia
115 - All of Me - John Legend
116 - Riptide - Vance Joy
118 - Not Letting Go - Tinie Tempah feat Jess Glynne

120 - Rather Be - Clean Bandit feat Jess Glynne
121 * Walk the Wire - Boy & Bear
122 - King Kunta - Kendrick Lamar
128 * Player - Tinashe

The Hills combined sales would have been around 10190+ so it only would have been #8 if the two were combined in sales

Also only 70+ sales between the #1 and #2 albums this week.
Lol at NSW changing the charts week after week

At least The Hills didn't lose too many positions
#WhenWillARIAUpdate
you can press 'print the chart' to view the current charts
I know, but I mean that's not the overall pages.
I've added this week's ARIA Top 100 Singles chart entries to my site.

Hear them all here - http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2015/01/every-aria-top-100-single-in-2015.html
Looks like ARIA are finally updating their website as some of this week's charts are available on the overall pages.
Belatedly I realised, The Game released the album on his own label, perhaps it's possible that it just wasn't signed off to be tracked by ARIA, much like how The Heist took a while before it charted.
Hijinx, I think you found the answer! It does seem likely.
