Lies! Hurtful lies!!! Hehehe. Aren't you getting Invincible confused with Symphony, Zaccy?
based on his Twitter bio, Symphony clearly never happened https://twitter.com/joemoore_music
LOL Jinxie. He's done a Delta Goodrem?
Oh right. Sorry
Only difference is that he forgot to update his sound after the flop

Looking further, Symphony has been deleted from iTunes, and he has no tweets about it after 2013 (don't know if there were any to begin with but I'd think so). Tragic

FYI: There are 200 sales between 1 and 2, and another 200 between 2 dna 3 this week.
I've added this week's ARIA Top 100 Singles chart entries to my site.

Hear them all here - http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2015/01/every-aria-top-100-single-in-2015.html
Pretty happy with Downtown getting a 4th week at #1, considering I was unsure whether it was going to get it or not. I'll take that as my birthday present from ARIA

I'm about 90% sure it will drop to #5 next week (behind "Hello", "Sorry", "Hotline Bling" and "The Hills").
All rap top 3, nice and keeping the teen shit out in 1D and Bieber.

Am I missing something? Hotline Bling sounds atrocious & ive given it s good twenty spins. There's no takers at work either. It's almost a chore to get through the whole song. Why so popular?

Downtown ? How could anyone dislike this being at #01, it's brand new & fresh...

The Hills, I wonder how many of those are repeat purchases for a different version or a constant stream. Have we ever had a song reach so high without the actual song itself solely do well?

679 ? Remy Boyz then Monty which is it? Because there's only a Monty version for sale.

Perfect sounds ridiculously like Style.

Cheerleader is P5 according to auspop

re The Hills, it's not really different to say E.T. or Young And Beautiful being boosted back by new remixes The Eminem remix actually fell out of the top 10 after a few days but returned; I think it's just sticking around by the song's natural popularity, as in, someone hearing the song on the radio and going to iTunes, but buying the remix because it's higher on the chart/search results (or Eminem's name power).

re 679, the Remy Boyz version was the original and the Monty version is on the album (just came out a few weeks ago). The Remy Boyz version was deleted on iTunes so it's Monty getting all the sales, but Remy Boyz is still on Spotify and getting most of the streams there

also re Hotline Bling, the video is an important factor
I will be absolutely filthy if Hello is the next number 1 over Hotline Bling or The Hills but I doubt that at nearly 5 minutes, it'd be picked up by radio
HB video spawning a lot of memes lol became an internet sensation just cause of the video

http://bgr.com/2015/10/23/drake-hotline-bling-memes/
@JJSmith, Well in Australia, radio doesn't contribute and i believe it is really beginning to lose power as a promotion tool. But Someone Like You was 4:47 and still played to death on radio.

Surely someone out there is studying the gradual decrease in sales each week. It's actually really puzzling me. I don't think many choose illegal downloading, radio listening increase isn't really a factor. Maybe people are just streaming previous songs as new releases are dire? Maybe people don't listen to music much. Maybe people don't have iPhones so iTunes isn't be used as much. Maybe we're all poor?
Imo it's the quality of music and variety that is deemed 'popular'.
Tbh this year has been a real chore in finding new and interesting music for my personal that half the time I haven't been bothered.
I also can't remember the last time I was excited with anticipation in a new release.
Please chart gods let Downtown drop from #1 and fade quickly. Hasn't society gotten over white boys rapping about mopeds yet? Let a more deserving act be #1 and leave Macklemore and his crap in 2012 where it should have stayed. Worst #1 of the year by far.
I think the key is the dispersing mono-culture. With technological advances and the like, it's easier for people to invest in more niche interests, which means there's nothing that captures the population's full attention, because everyone's into different things. Like, Australia got Netflix earlier this year, that's gonna cut into a lot of people's time that may have previously been invested in music. And of course streaming is a big one because unless you buy less than 2 new songs a week, you're likely not going to contribute as many chart points as before if you switch over to it.

But in saying that I do agree that the music itself has something to do with it. On a subjective level I can't agree because I'm loving 2015, but when you look at the major releases of current, they don't quite stack up to even last year. I mean, The Weeknd's had the biggest album of the last few months, but already Taylor Swift's 2014 album is outselling him week by week! And it says a lot that Meghan Trainor can spend as long at #1 with "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" as she did "All About That Bass", the former is clearly not remotely the pop culture icon that the latter was.
I'm loving 2015 too and might even break a personal EOY record this year that was never achieved in my beloved '90s but, that said, I still miss the variety that charting music has had in the past. Mainstream rock for instance is pretty much dead and it's the genre that I miss the most in our charts.
Me too Grant. (Your last sentence) I think 2015 quality for me is on par with last year though.
Lol at Downtown & Hotline Bling not being #1 anywhere but The Hills, Perfect & WDYM failing hard in various demographics. Feel a little bit bad for 1D but whatever, they basically plagiarised so they don't deserve it
