For the thirteenth week in a row we have a new album debuting at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart, and this one is only the second chart-topping album in Australia for Elvis Presley, titled “If I Can Dream” it features The King of Rock alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on some of his classic tracks.

“If I Can Dream” becomes the 749th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2015) and finally the 600th No.1 for ARIA (1983 to 2015), plus the 396th album to debut at the top of the Albums chart, whilst also the 25th for the RCA label and the third this year after Bring Me the Horizon (21-Sept) and Bullet for My Valentine (24-Aug). The fourteen tracks on the new album include such classics as “It’s Now or Never”, “Love Me Tender”, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “In the Ghetto” as well as a few covers of tracks he recorded like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Fever” which features a duet with Michael Buble, plus the album also landed at the top of the UK Albums chart this week to (his twelfth over there).

Elvis has only hit the top of the ARIA Albums chart once before, back in late September 2002 when “ELV1S” or “30 #1 Hits” (it was known by both titles here and overseas) spent four weeks at the top. This is the ninth album with a ‘Dream’ in its title but the first with a ‘Can’ or even an ‘if’ to make it to the top, and the new No.1 album becomes the 290th for an American Act to hit the top and also the 207th for a Solo Male Artist and the first solo male act to hit the top in almost two months, as the last was Troye Sivan back in mid-September with his “Wild” EP. Elvis also becomes the third act to land two or more posthumous album after John Lennon (two) and Kurt Cobain (via Nirvana; three).

The eleventh studio album (9 in English and 2 in French) for Australian singer Tina Arena aptly titled “Eleven” debuts at No.2 this week, becoming her seventh Top 10 album in Australia and her highest charting since her two back-to-back No.1 albums in the 1990’s “”Don’t Ask” (1994) and “In Deep” (1997). Her previous chart entry was the album “Reset”, which debuted and peaked at No.4 in late October 2013.

“Like a Version Volume 11” holds at No.3 again this week, racking up its fifth week within the Top 3 and Top 10, and the only edition of the series that has lasted longer was volume seven which rang up eight weeks within the Top 10. The third and final Top 10 debut this week is the self-titled eleventh studio album for Def Leppard, which debuts at No.4 this week. The bands last studio album was “Songs from the Sparkle Lounge” (HP-82, May 2008) whilst in 2011 they charted with a live album and a best of compilation, plus this becomes the bands fourth Top 10 album in Australia and their first since the 1995 best of “Vault” (HP-9).

Taylor Swift is back up one place to No.5 with her “1989” album and last weeks two highest new entries both drop five spots apiece this week, with 5 Seconds of Summer and their former No.1 “Sounds Good Feels Good” down to No.6 and Chris Isaak with “First Comes the Night” dropping to No.7. The Weeknd returns to the Top 10 with “Beauty Behind the Madness”, up five to No.8 and also returning to the ten is Cold Chisel with “The Perfect Crime”, up two places to No.9, whilst holding at No.10 for a third straight week is Ed Sheeran and his “x’ album.

UP: With Fleetwood Mac in full-tour of Australia, two of their three charting compilations albums are back to back this week, with their “Greatest Hits” up three to No.15 and the longest charting album in ARIA History, “The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac” up eleven to No.16 in its 379th week within the Top 100. Ahead of the festive season in six to seven weeks, the Michael Buble album “Christmas” returns to the charts at No.17 and the newly re-packaged 20th Anniversary Edition of the breakout album for Alanis Morissette “Jagged Little Pill” is back in at No.19. The self-titled Hozier album has been re-packaged and his visit to our shores this past week all help his album to leap back up forty-three spots to No.22, whilst a re-pack of the Sam Smith album “In the Lonely Hour” helps it back up fifteen spots to No.26. The AC/DC national tour kicked off in Sydney this past week, which helps their current album “Rock or Bust” to leap up fifty places to No.27 and that third Mac comp is “25 Years–The Chain” which jumps up nineteen spots to No.28, whilst the newly released physical edition of the Ryan Adams album “1989” helps it to return to the Top 100 at No.29 this week. The recent documentary “AMY” about Amy Winehouse helps her “Back to Black” album up seven to No.33 and with their Australian tour kicking off this weekend (7-Nov) the Tame Impala album “Currents” is back up fifteen places to No.34, whilst finally another current tourist to our shores is Neil Diamond whose “All Time Greatest Hits” is up eleven places this week to No.50.

DOWN: The five albums to drop out of this weeks Top 10 start with Hillsong Worship and their recent No.1 set “Open Heaven/River Wild” (HP-1, WI10-2) which is down three places to No.11, and the other four all debuted within the Top 10 last week, firstly “Cinema” (HP-7) for Andrea Bocelli is down five to No.12, Rod Stewart drops four to No.13 with “Another Country” (HP-9), falling ten to No.14 is Carrie Underwood with “Storyteller” (HP-4) and plummeting down forty places to No.45 is Nathaniel with “Yours” (HP-5). Boy & Bear fall eleven spots to No.25 with “Limit of Love” and Parkway Drive with “Ire” and Bring Me the Horizon with “That’s the Spirit” both drop eleven places each, down to No.30 and No.31 respectively. Russell Morris drops sixteen to No.37 with his latest album “Red Dirt Red Heart” and after debuting at No.12 last week, Fat Freddy’s Drop and their set “Bays” falls twenty-nine spots to No.41, with “Honeymoon” for Lana Del Rey down twelve to No.42. Also falling into the lower end of the Top 50 are Jess Glynne (26 to 43), City and Colour (24 to 46) and Vance Joy (38 to 48), whilst falling into the lower fifty this week are Chvrches (36 to 55), Disclosure (35 to 56), Selena Gomez (32 to 60), Demi Lovato (23 to 62), Halsey (44 to 64), David Gilmour (48 to 65), Jamie Lawson (25 to 70), Fetty Wap (50 to 72), Pentatonix (34 to 80), with dropouts from the Top 100 that entered within the Top 50 last week are Half Moon Run (#39) and Robbie Williams’ “In & Out of Consciousness: Greatest Hits” (#43).

The fifth studio album for Las Vegas act Escape the Fate debuts at No.32 entitled “Hate Me”, which becomes the bands highest charting album here, beating the No.33 peak that their first entry “This War is Ours” achieved in 2008 and their last entry “Ungrateful” (May 2013) which debuted and peaked at No.34, plus overall this is the bands fourth chart entry as in-between those two albums was their self-titled third album which made it to No.58 in November 2010.

A new 3CD compilation for Skyhooks entitled “Don’t You Believe What You’ve Seen or You’ve Heard” (which is actually a line from the Midnight Oil song ‘Power & the Passion’) comes in at No.40 this week. The album contains the bands first two album re-mastered with bonus tracks and b-sides, whilst the third disc is a live concert from 1974-75 and a booklet, and this becomes the bands sixth best of compilation to chart in Australia.

Lower 50: Claptone leap up thirty-one spots to a new peak of No.52 with their set “Charmer” and returning to the chart at No.53 is multi-ARIA Award nominee Courtney Barnett and “Sometimes I Sit and Think…”. The Michael Jackson compilation “The Essential” jumps back up thirty-five spots to No.54 this week and the re-packed Alison Wonderland album “Run” (now with remixes) is back in at No.58, whilst the DVD and Blu-Ray concert release for Katy Perry “The Prismatic Tour” helps her current album “Prism” back up twenty-five places to No.59. Sol3 Mio continue to rise back up as “On Another Note” is back up fourteen spots this week to No.63 and further returning albums this week are “Nothing Has Changed” for David Bowie (#69), current tourist Neil Diamond with “Melody Road” (#71), Project co-host last Friday Jimmy Barnes with “30:30 Hindsight” (#74), “Greatest Hits” for Red Hot Chili Peppers (#81), “The Very Best of” by The Eagles (#84), “Built on Glass” for Chet Faker (#87), “Hits” for Phil Collins (#88), “AM” for Arctic Monkeys (#92), “My Everything” by Ariana Grande (#96”), “Furious 7” at No.97, and two more for current tourists in the form of Stevie Nicks’ “Crystal Visions: The Very Best of” #99 and the classic “Back in Black” album for AC/DC sneaks back in #100.

Side-project for Tool and A Perfect Circle member Maynard James Keenan is the hardcore act Puscifer whose third album “Money Shot” comes in at No.51 this week, whilst the band previously charted with their debut set “V is for Vagina” which debuted and peaked at No.27 this week eight years ago (5-Nov-2007).

The second album for US alt-rock act The Neighbourhood entitled “Wiped Out!” becomes the bands first chart entry in Australia this week as it enters at No.57. The National lead singer Matt Berninger has teamed with Brent Knopf from the band Ramona Falls to form the duo El Vy (like ‘hell sky’), and their first teaming has produced this weeks No.76 entry “Return to the Moon”. The final new entry for this week is the fourth studio album for UK singer/songwriter James Morrison entitled “Higher Than Here” which enters here at No.94 and cracked the UK Top 10 this week also.

Wow lots of singles certs
Rihanna, Eminem, drake catalogues all have accreditation updates with many other Certs Bieber etc. I think it's the biggest update ever. It's on the aria site. I can't be bothered sifting through each one but Eminem and Rihanna wowsers!!!

lol I hope Lose Yourself somehow got a new cert too
ADELE hello I'd gold in the table along with some of the Certs this week which means they were given last week but not applied to the chart
REALLY great that Universal and Warner have updated some of their certs.

Nice for Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie. I kind of wish Without Me and The Real Slim Shady got updated though.

Would be really curious to know how many copies the RNB Fridays compilation sold this week.
Wow @ Umbrella, DSTM, Only Girl, Right Now, S&M, SOS, Take A Bow, Rude Boy, WHYB, WFL & HTILY's new certs. Don't see any way that Right Now could have sold 70,000 copies
According to previous years (2012-2014), 'Christmas' shouldn't chart until two weeks time. Perhaps many retail stores are already selling a large number of physical copies already? Would it up to the retail managers or the label (143/Warner) to determine when 'Christmas' should be available for in-store purchase?

The certs look about right, but also shows a downwards trend in sales.
This is dumb, but since David Guetta isn't credited, maybe it's an accident and they mean What Now Tennis?

Edit: scratch, What Now is already platinum

Love that The Motto has a gold cert despite not charting.

Where can you see new certs for Rihanna?
Many thanks Hijinx. I've tried this page for the past few days but my link must be wrong because it's stuck to August updates.
http://www.aria.com.au/pages/SingleAccreds2015.htm

That's all certs for this year.

Rihanna's are here, http://imgur.com/39QLWWz

I'm pretty sure only FFS & BBHMM are from before this week.

@TravD: Right Now's cert may have very well sold 70,000 units.

It charted at #49 in the Year End Dance Singles Chart with probably close to 35,000 units sold. Add the fact that it charted a bit in 2012 and 2014-2015 sales.

Really great that Universal has updated almost all of Rihanna's certs given most of them are long overdue.

Would be nice if they updated Kanye West and Lady GaGa next month but I can dream lol.
Go Adele!

Awesome #01...
Good Girl Gone Bad the only album updated?

Sad about Reality dropping and also Working For It dropping out of the top 100
At least Working For It being close seemingly confirms that its very high streams are being counted.

Oh wow, 40ish sales for Whip It! is pretty rough. Similar margin to Plans back in 2010 I believe
