IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 2/1/17 Edition No.373 Songs retire at 75 weeks
The new year has only brought a new #1 on two previous occasions, and although this year was close to becoming the third instance, it simply wasn't to be. Temples celebrate seven weeks on top with "Certainty".
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are continuing to build a loyal fanbase and as their ninth album is due for release this year, I was keen to hear the two tracks currently available from it. I'm pleased to report that I absolutely adore the epic "Rattlesnake", which debuts at #3. This is the band's third entry to date, following 2014's #31-peaker "Cellophane" and 2016's #68-peaker "Gamma Knife".
Perhaps if I had heard of them earlier PUP could have been my 2016 FIDLAR. It's not too late to give "DVP" some recognition, however, and it debuts at #44 as their first entry thus far.
This isn't Boots' first entry on the cha- oh wait I never charted "Early". Having said that he did contribute previously as the producer for Autolux's album "Pussy's Dead" which featured 2 chart entries last year. Run The Jewels, however, make this their 12th entry to date. If you haven't figured it out already, "2100" is the song and #50 is the position.
I turned down this song a while back in favour of "What If I Go?" and although this is still inferior imo, it has ended up charting in Australia and now I like it more Mura Masa now has two entries with "Love$ick" in at #61. Although I'm skeptical it's apparently A$AP Rocky's first ever chart entry as a featured artist, following 13 solo entries as the main artist.
Nine Inch Nails recently released an EP with some fanfare and while originally it was hard to pick a favourite at first, I've settled on "Dear World," which enters at #88 as their second entry to date.
And J. Cole comes in at #94 for his first solo entry and second overall with "Deja Vu". It has been a long time between drinks for the American rapper, whose previous entry came all the way back in 2010 as a credit on Jay-Z's "A Star Is Born".

A Tribe Called Quest
Solid Wall Of Sound (ft. Jack White, Elton John & Busta Rhymes)
Was wondering how long until Love$ick debuted here, I thought it was only a matter of time Great to see it in! I also like seeing Noise Pollution move up, I didn't realise you were already charting it but that is understandable given I didn't know of it until just over a week ago
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 9/1/17 Edition No.374 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Temples' reign has ended, with Warpaint finally snatching top spot!
Danny Brown grabs the first debut of the week with a song that I still refuse to believe is him. "Tell Me What I Don't Know" enters at #9.
"American Band" is an interesting album but as it is a sound I rarely listen to I had to pick out a few favourites. Hence, Drive-By Truckers enter for the first time ever with "What It Means" at #13.
I'm not sure if the typo is intentional or not But for anyone who remembers "My Friend Dario" released nearly 12 years ago, the man behind it Vitalic is back with a new record and enters for the first time with "Use It or Loose It" at #23.
Also a first-timer, Joey Purp enters at #31 with "Girls @", featuring Chance the Rapper, who is definitely not a first-timer.
Two entries towards the bottom to round out the week. After seeing it trashed on TSJ, the penultimate entry is "Little Something" by UK band The Amazons at #74.
And lastly, I've been listening to plenty of albums I didn't get to in 2016, and was quite impressed by Car Seat Headrest's track "1937 State Park". It's his 3rd entry to date and comes in at #82.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 16/1/17 Edition No.375 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Of course right now it's all about EOY preparation for me, so it's a quiet week but still interesting things happening all the same. Warpaint retain their spot and King Gizzard move up to #2.
The first debut of the week comes from prolific Californian Cass McCombs. The warm guitar riffs help "Bum Bum Bum" debut at #14.
And being my usual self, I call upon the ARIA chart at this time of year to help me out with debuts Luckily Milky Chance were simmering for a while and "Cocoon" becomes their third entry to date, coming in at #38.
My final verdict on ATCQ's 2016 offering won't be revealed for a couple of weeks, however "Dis Generation" is clearly a highlight and I can't ignore it anymore. It enters as their fourth entry from the record at #47.
And lastly, an actual 2017 song because it's actually 2017. Surprisingly, an artist that has managed two big EOY placings but never a chart entry. Elbow finally take care of that anomaly by entering at #76 with "All Disco".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 23/1/17 Edition No.376 Songs retire at 75 weeks
My excuse is still EOY work, yet another week of stability. Warpaint earn their spot once again with "So Good".
One of just 3 debuts this week, and the first week containing solely 2017 tracks. Temples hype is going to be too much to bear, with "Strange or Be Forgotten" with the latest taste of their upcoming record. It comes in at #19.
Another follow-up entry, although this time The xx have already released their record and I'm too busy/lazy/can't be assed to listen to it. "Say Something Loving" enters at #49. Blocking what could have been an all-British week of debuts is Oklahoma band Horse Thief. It reminds me of a random Hungry Kids of Hungary song that I can't be bothered looking up "Little One" is the band's first ever entry and it enters at #84.

I'm working all night tomorrow so getting this out now
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 30/1/17 Edition No.377 Songs retire at 75 weeks
The top four stays steady this week, with Warpaint holding a fourth week at #1 with "So Good". Cass McCombs and Joey Purp make rises in the top 10 whilst Temples move up to #11 as the highest 2017 release with "Strange or Be Forgotten".
Even prior to Thursday's countdown I was fond of Sofi Tukker's "Drinkee" but I just had to chart it. It debuts at #35.
I couldn't recall if I've heard any of their songs prior but fair to say that they make a pretty big (read: loud) impression. Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes debut at #54 with the title track to their new album "Modern Ruin".
And now for the only non-featured* debutant this week that has made the chart before! Pulled Apart By Horses come in with "The Haze", also the title track of their new but yet-to-be-released record, at #66.
I made an asterisk up above purely because Vera Blue has had a featured contribution to Illy's "Papercuts", but otherwise Slumberjack is new to the chart. "Fracture" enters at #84.

Awww Noise Pollution missing the top 5 yay Cocoon, Drinkee and Fracture debuting. Good to see I Feel It Coming still riding high and Love$ick and Cocoon on the move up.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 6/2/17 Edition No.378 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Although it's a distinctly Aussie flavour on the debuts with 13/18, one of the most British sounding musicians out there Peter Doherty claims top spot with "Down for the Outing".
"Life Without Sound" is one of two 2017 albums I own and I may have a challenger to the throne of "Modern Act". Coming in at #6 is the rough banger that is "Realize My Fate".
A far softer return, with Father John Misty set to put out one of 2017's most hyped records. I quite clearly enjoy the title track "Pure Comedy" which enters at #10.
Although it's actually their third entry to date, it's the first time they've ever been anywhere near the top half, let alone in the top 20. I'm speaking of course about Gang Of Youths, who enter at #13 with "Strange Diseases".
I spent just as much as time debating whether to capitalise the name or not as I did working out where to place it. Although not Angus' first solo entry, DOPE LEMON is another H100 product and "Uptown Folks" enters at #18.
I'm not sure what possessed me to chart it this high but heck, "Chameleon" at #23.
I originally was kind of interested to hear "Flying Microtonal Banana" but now I'm so insanely hyped. "Sleep Drifter" by the legendary King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard enters at #30.
Last time they were in the chart it was also due to H100 Big Scary enter at #49 with "The Opposite of Us".
Although I wasn't totally sold on "All Disco" at first I do like it now, and I think this once has eclipsed it instantly. Elbow enter with their second entry "Gentle Storm" at #52.
A worthy H100 #100, Birds of Tokyo enter after a four year absence with "Brace" at #57.
It took me a few listens but I dig it. Big Sean comes in with his second solo entry, this time all on his own, with "Halfway Off The Balcony" at #65.
Methyl Ethel quickly add a third entry after some EOY success. "Ubu" at #72.
It's more of the same but I'm not complaining. ANOHNI with her fifth entry to date after last year's "Hopelessness" record. "Paradise" enters at #79.
F**k the amount of notes I have to type this week, homie. A.B. Original enter with "January 26". It's Dan Sultan's and Trials' first entries however Briggs has been in before with "Bad Apples".
Montaigne has quietly (how is that possible) established herself on the chart with three entries, now it's "Because I Love You" at #92.
Tkay Maidza now has her fourth entry, entirely due to the H100 again. "Simulation" at #94.
I did like "Far Away" more but this is still nice. Ali Barter comes in her second entry with "Girlie Bits" at #95.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand "Adore".
aaaaaaaaaand Empire of the Sun's first actual entry in 7 years

Solid Wall Of Sound (ft. Jack White, Elton John & Busta Rhymes)
Ooh so many debuts. Go Chameleon (only three spots away from its peak on my chart lmao), The Opposite Of Us, Brace, January 26, Because I Love You, Simulation, Girlie Bits, Adore and High And Low. I Feel It Coming, Love$ick, Cocoon, We The People...., Drinkee, Starboy, Say It, Give Me Up, What If I Go?, On Hold and Drive still doing their things is all rather nice to see also.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 13/2/17 Edition No.379 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Another week where I am immensely tired but shall still persist with producing a copious amount of commentary. Peter Doherty's "Outing" kicks on for another week, with Spoon and Cloud Nothings disrupting the top 5.
This week we see quite a number of well-known artists make their charting debut. Spoon are the first of this after I far too belatedly enjoyed "Do You". "Hot Thoughts" comes in at #4.
Although they've made the chart three times before ("Lost That Easy", "First" and "All This Could Be Yours"), it's fair to say that pre-chart Cold War Kids were better. "Love Is Mystical" is not exactly a throwback of any kind but it has become the highest peaker already, coming at #27.
So I should hear more of this band it seems. The rather popular Slowdive enter at #34 with "Star Roving", their first entry to date.
Eventually "Seasons (Waiting On You)" had a decent top 20 peak / 20-week run, but even then my estimations of it were in every way understated. Perhaps "Ran" could do what S(WOY) couldn't, but for now it enters at #40, their third entry thus far.
Japandroids are another well-known band that break through for the first time. Their previous era never clicked with me either due to timing or simply hearing the wrong single/s(?) too often, but this one is quite good straight off the bat. The Canadians debut with "No Known Drink or Drug" at #44.
While it is his first solo entry, Sampha is not totally brand new to the chart. He did in fact contribute to SBTRKT's 2012 #1 hit "Hold On" which makes this his second entry to date. "(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano" enters at #56.
More of those examples ^.^ Goldfrapp have many impressive songs and rather instantly I added "Anymore" to that frame. It enters at #59.
Less than two years ago, Danish rockers Mew smashed the charts with five entries, including #1 hit "Satellites" and #8-peaker "Witness". Their new record "Visuals" is out in a couple of months apparently and "Carry Me To Safety" comes in at #73.
Upon first hearing "Bounce Back" I knew that I will have to check out his album. Big Sean comes in with his third entry as a main artist - and fifth if you include his credited features on "Mercy" and "Clique". He proves that I'm not done with 2016 music that isn't from the H100, as it enters at #79.
An interesting Surfer Blood-style blend of Arctic Monkeys and "Knights of Cydonia"? "Snowdonia" throws up a number of surprises but none more out there than "Six Flags in F or G" which comes in at #83. It's their 11th entry to date, having first made the chart in 2013 with #2-peaker "Demon Dance" and more recently achieved five charters from their 2015 record "1000 Palms", which included EOY entrant "Feast - Famine".
To add to the mayhem, Frank Ocean comes in with his first proper solo entry to the chart. It may in fact be my favourite non-credited track of his in "Pink + White", entering at #88. I certainly feel it's better than anything from his previous album that I heard, and I like it more than his collaborative entry "Hero". However, it is his fourth entry to date when we include JayYe collab "No Church In The Wild" and Jay-Z's "Oceans".
And lastly, a UK band that did briefly chart in 2013 with #63-peaker "Fester". Dutch Uncles are back after a considerable absence with "Oh Yeah" at #97.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 20/2/17 Edition No.380 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Although new 2017 material couldn't overtake Peter Doherty, it was instead the massive 2016 smash "So Good" by Warpaint that regains its #1 spot for a 5th week.
Among moves at the top of the chart is the return for The Jungle Giants. After the disappointing "Speakerzoid" record in 2015 which didn't capture the brilliance of 2013's "Learn To Exist", the Queenslanders return with the exciting "Feel the Way I Do". It's a combination of new and old for them in sound which is why it's great news that it debuts at #5. It's their 10th entry to date and already their second highest peaker behind "Home".
Up next is an artist that I've known little about besides an average lavvy that I've had in my collection for a number of years. Canadians Austra - who I only learnt today are actually a band - come in at #13 with "Utopia". Particularly fitting given that Goldfrapp debuted last week ~
Thanks to a certain new member on the site, I gave "Lush Looms" a go and enjoyed it rather instantly. Mister and Mississippi debut in the chart at #33 for the first time, and are the fourth main artist to do so behind electronic music specialists Laidback Luke, Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens.
Now we go over the channel as English producer Gemini debuts with "Time To Share" at #38, pretty much off the back of EOY season which I enjoyed very much.
And similarly I'm not done with 2016 stuff just yet. I've agreed to pretty much cease this once I know that I'm out of H100 things to chart, of which this should be the last week. Therefore without further ado, it has to be the Grammy-nominated "Broccoli" by the poodle-loving D.R.A.M. featuring Lil Yachty, which is both their first entries. It comes in at #54.
Father John Misty's new album is going to be something totally different and "Ballad of the Dying Man" is a really interesting direction. It debuts at #60, his 12th entry to date. Interesting to note that he has graced the chart every year since 2012 (inclusive).
I had a lot of hype heading into this and I guess I've come out the other end still trying to get into it. Nonetheless Little Dragon enter at #73 with "High", their fourth entry to date behind EOY entrants "Pretty Girls" and "Let Go", and KAYTRANADA-featured track "BULLETS".
And lastly, blink-182 in my chart in 2017 because it's catchy and idc

Time To Share is pretty alright and Broccoli is good stuff but lmao Bored To Death. Bounce Back getting a big rise is pleasing to see. Wow at GRMM still kicking around
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 27/2/17 Edition No.381 Songs retire at 75 weeks
The first chart week that has really felt like a 2017 chart, or at least that's the case in the top 5 with just one 2016 charter in there. The race for #1 was especially close, with the entire top 7 pretty much in contention all week. But ultimately, The Jungle Giants prevail and secure their second ever #1 with "Feel the Way I Do".
We start at #3 as Vince Staples all ready equals his previous best peak for "Norf Norf" with the track "BagBak". This is his fourth entry to date, which also includes Earl Sweatshirt's "Wool" in 2015 and Flume's "Smoke & Retribution" in 2016.
If you had told me that Cloud Nothings would achieve three top 5 hits before I were to properly acquaint myself with their new album, I would have laughed somewhat. I say this as I've only listened to the album twice in full and need more time with it. "Enter Entirely" smashes its way to #5, their sixth entry to date.
"Palace" and "Hotel" both still move me so much. Perhaps that's why The Antlers lead singer Peter Silberman was a shoe in for the chart as soon as "New York" made a decent first impression on me. It enters at #16.
A little further down finally and Thundercat has a really cool album cover, but thankfully it also comes across in his music. "Friend Zone" comes in at #47, his second entry to date after featuring on Kendrick Lamar's 2015 hit "These Walls".
Chart bucket list time! Part of the reason why I've not charted Imagine Dragons until this date is that as I've grown slightly fond of their older hits, their more recent outputs have not been as solid. But with all that said, I think "Believer" is their best yet! It comes in at #79.
And I'm rather thrilled to be charting Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains, and not just because whenever I try to properly pronounce the song title my tongue trips over itself. The word 'dérèglement' is apparently French for 'deregulation' but don't ask me to put the rest of the song into context because I haven't In any case "Grand Dérèglement" enters at #84.

Really Doe (ft. Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt)
Oh yeah last week I had forgotten Feel The Way I Do has been in my Potential Future Charters playlist for about a month Great to see it at #1. I'm also feeling similar with the chart I'm about to post, no songs that were charting in 2016 are in my top 10 and I'm pretty sure 8/10 were released in 2017 This time last year I only had 3/10 of the top 10 having been released in 2016 That Vince song is pretty good too.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 6/3/17 Edition No.382 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A rather competitive top three but it's The Jungle Giants who outlast their rivals for a second week at the top with "Feel the Way I Do".
A week ago I was still undecided on whether this would chart but it has climbed up in a massive way! Animal Collective score their second charter in "Kinda Bonkers" at #24. It's not far off their previous peak for "FloriDada" which ended up as high as #15.
The reaction on Lana Del Rey's new single has been less mixed than usual, and it's easy to see why. I'm a big fan of it already and "Love" enters at #28, her 9th entry to date.
After 2016 gave us a number of key comebacks, 17 years is a pretty big wait if you're an At the Drive-In fan. I'm more acquainted, of course, with The Mars Volta's work but I was not surprised to discover that I enjoyed their new single "Incurably Innocent". It's their first charter to date in at #41.
Flume has pumped up entry after entry and what better way to continue that with the lead singer of one of 2016's best albums? I do of course speak of his collaboration "Fantastic" with Dave Bayley from Glass Animals, which enters at #46.
Wacky comeback that I did not see coming. Jamiroquai at #53 with "Automaton".
And lastly because of some twisted Stockholm syndrome that has embodied me in the past few weeks, I give you "Capsize" at #88.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 13/3/17 Edition No.383 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Plenty of pushing and shoving at the top of the chart, and The Jungle Giants come out of it victorious with a third week at #1 with "Feel the Way I Do". Cloud Nothings and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard make for a very tight top 3, pushing the unlucky Vince Staples down to #4. Spoon show signs of an unlikely comeback moving up four spots to #6 with "Hot Thoughts".
Very exciting news from Alt-J with a new album on its way in a few months. In the meantime we have the return single "3WW", which stands for "3 worn words".
I wasn't sure where to put this at first but this has been become a standout on "Flying Microtonal Banana" for me. Big fan of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard now which of course you know and "Nuclear Fusion" comes in at #15.
And because you can never have enough King Gizzard, "Melting" becomes six entries in total for them entering at #31.
A new album on the way following a big EOY placing last year. Portugal. The Man now have their ninth entry to date with "Feel It Still" at #49.
Up next is a song that I didn't realise was actually rather popular until I downloaded it. Future enters the chart (for the first ever time in any capacity if I'm not mistaken) with "Mask Off" at #73.
Another Father John Misty teaser for his upcoming record at #79 titled "Two Wildly Different Perspectives".
Following the top 5 smash "Hot Thoughts", Spoon get a second entry in "Can I Sit Next To You" at #89.
And lastly, the talk of the British rap scene if you exclude Ed Sheeran, coming in at #96 is Stormzy with "Big For Your Boots" - his first entry to date.

Really Doe (ft. Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt)
Ooh new Animal Collective, giving that a listen now. It's pretty good. Pleased to see appearances for Love, Fantastic, Automaton and Capsize last week too. Also yas Feel It Still this week. Great to see Feel The Way I Do still at #1 and rises for Lush Looms, Automaton!!, Kinda Bonkers, Love, Broccoli and Fantastic. 11 weeks is quite a run that Give Me Up had, woo!
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 20/3/17 Edition No.384 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I'm really tired and King Gizzard have their first #1.
Three years after charting with #50-peaker "How Can You Really", Foxygen make a big statement upon their return to the chart with the retro "Avalon". It debuts at #4.
I'm still very much vokol about this record and "Born into the Sunset" may be one of the key reasons as to why. Temples are at again and debut at #19.
Unlike Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains, somehow Avec le soleil sortant de sa bouche aren't actually French but instead are from Montreal. Their second album "Pas pire pop, I Love You so Much" is very good as is the album opener "Trans-pop express I" which comes in at #37. Worth a try.
Part of this week's chart is slightly unfair given King Gizz was my first gig in 14 months, but in any case "Billabong Valley" enters at #42.
To keep up the French trend, the totally not French Methyl Ethel come in at #49 with "L'Heure des Sorcières".
With their second entry following on from 2014's #91-peaker "Get Away", the darker "Goodbye" by Circa Waves comes in at #64.
One half (or two quarters) of Rainy Day Women have formed the band The Money War who debut at #79 with "Stars". It's this band's first entry but following on from Rainy Day Women's two 2013 entries in #96-peaker "Friends" and #83-peaker "Ain't It Time".
And lastly, we've all got bloody division signs metaphorically imprinted on our foreheads so in order to get away from it all I've decided to chart this fresh new U2 track "Castle on the Hill" at #88. It's their second entry after 2009's #22-peaker "Magnificent".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 27/3/17 Edition No.385 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Because it's technically Monday now. Who knows when I can get the IPAC out, maybe Tuesday if I'm lucky.
Happy days at the top for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard but it all could tumble down soon with Alt-J, Foxygen and Spoon all reaching new peaks inside the top 4.
Up first is a band I've haven't heard from in a few years. WA outfit Crooked Colours achieved moderate notoriety with their well-produced 2014 #21-peaker "In Your Bones". For their second ever entry they enter with "Flow", one place below their highest ever position coming in at #22.
While I seemed to enjoy "Views" more than most last year, Drake's new so-called 'playlist' entitled "More Life" has already won a lot of people over. "Passionfruit" is an obvious winner and it enters at #42.
Took me too long but "Green Light" has clicked with me. Lorde enters at #55.
I'm being a bit frugal with commentary this week but I will make up for it later... Fleet Foxes with their long awaited return at #59.
And lastly Melbourne band Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever with the fun strumming of "French Press" at #83.

And here I thought I'd be okay not to comment on your chart until Monday afternoon, yet I still manage to miss a chart. Castle On The Hill has grown on me a lot so I'm pleased to see it make your chart last week, and I'm even more pleased to see Passionfruit and Green Light debut this week. So awesome to see Green Light finally charting for you! Shame that Feel The Way I Do is already losing steam for you, but very impressed with Automaton's high placing as well as rises for Feel It Still, Bounce Back, Mask Off and Capsize.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 3/4/17 Edition No.386 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Alt-J were pushing but King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard last out on top for a third week with "Sleep Drifter". Big moves for Spoon and Jamiroquai who make up a very competitive top four. This first debut might just be the catalyst to break up the top two. As you would know if you weren't living under a rock, Kendrick Lamar is rather close to a new album. While not the first taste of new music from him, "HUMBLE." is clearly the one that has resonated with fans so much more. It deserves gets a top 10 peak coming in at #7. I'm not sure if I've ever come close to charting Laura Marling but she makes a big impact this week. "Soothing" cut from her recent album comes in at #28.
I had no idea who he was less than a week ago but I really love the cheerful "Away From Today" by British singer-songwriter Dan Croll. It comes in at #29.
I've finally come full circle with Gang Of Youths! After 2013's "Evangelists", they've charted twice as a result of H100 entries in "Magnolia" and "Strange Diseases". While the latter achieved a decent #13 peak, they were yet to really hit their stride with a proper new hit. Until now, of course. Continuing the concentration of debuts in the top third of the chart they enter at #32 with "What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?"
18th entry (including credits) for Kendrick Lamar now with the release that of course preceded "HUMBLE." At #69 is the ARIA smash "The Heart Part 4".

Portugal. The Man
Noise Pollution (ft. Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Zoe Manville) (Version A, Vocal Up Mix 1.3)
I feel like everyone has a definite preference for HUMBLE. of the two new Kendrick tracks but I don't know which I like more yet. But good to see both debut of course. Holy crap Automation is getting closer to the top, I wonder if it will do better on your chart than it has on mine yay Passionfruit, Feel It Still, Green Light, Capsize and Castle On The Hill moving up but c'mon Lana.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 10/4/17 Edition No.387 Songs retire at 75 weeks
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's run comes to an end with Alt-J a.k.a. alt-J a.k.a. ∆ score their first ever #1. "3WW" is rather beautiful and I cannot wait for the album now.
Eight debuts this week, with the highest of which coming from Swedish outfit Little Dragon who follow up recent charter "High". Hopefully this will regain some of their moments from the previous era of hits, with their fourth entry "Sweet" coming in at #23.
The work of Joe Goddard / Hot Chip is quite prolific and I've barely touched the surface with their back catalogue. Goddard's side project The 2 Bears came close to charting from one of their albums but up until now his only entry was Hot Chip's "One Life Stand". Now he's in with a solo entry with "Home" at #29. It's the second charter with that name following on from The Jungle Giants' 2013 #1 hit. I do also love that Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros song too
So in the end it's a pretty good week for Alt-J. They now have an eighth entry to date with "In Cold Blood" at #38.
Still in the top 50 with some top notch Aussie post rock, with sleepmakeswaves at #48 with "Tundra". It's their second entry to date following 2014's #77-peaker "Something Like Avalanches".
Kasabian! They're back! Scary that I've been charting them for eight years and this is their 15th entry, spanning four albums now. "Comeback Kid" is also the second entry with that title following Sleigh Bells' 2012 #18-peaker. However, this one comes in merely at #54.
All I know about Yellow Claw is that they're yet a number Dutch artist to make my chart, now we're up to 5 in total! The Netherlands currently occupy 2% of my chart on account of Mister and Mississippi still doing rather well. "Good Day" featuring DJ Snake (fifth entry including credits) and Elliphant (second entry after 2015's "Too Original" with Major Lazer).
This one has been simmering for a while. King Gizzard make their 8th appearance thus far with "Anoxia" at #73.
Lorde is quickly building on her entries with 5 in total now. "Liability" enters at #90, the lowest peaker of the 5 so far.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 17/4/17 Edition No.388 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It may be a bit of a stretch to say this is one of my closest top 5s in the history of doing this chart, but certainly at least for this year it is true. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard fall all the way down to #5, whilst Kendrick Lamar despite all the hysteria stays at #4 (I've decided to hold off on charting any of the album this week as I'm still trying to digest it; let's just say possibly next week). Alt-J fall off the throne as so often happens in chaotic weeks, but still somewhat hold their own by only dropping to #3. At the Drive-In race towards the finish line but can only settle for #2 with Perth trio Crooked Colours claiming their first ever #1 with "Flow".
Due to a number of factors including work, laziness and "DAMN.", just four debuts this week. With her second reasonably high entry in three weeks, Laura Marling comes in at #26 with "Don't Pass Me By".
Another song which for me quickly became #analbumhighlight. Father John Misty enters at #51 with "Total Entertainment Forever", which is Tillman's 14th entry so far. He did of course contribute to Fleet Foxes' 2011 hit "Helplessness Blues", so one could creatively argue he has 15 entries.
A band which sounds like many lovely things that I love, so it was not a stretch for this to make it in. British Sea Power indeed originate from the British seaside, and they enter for the first time at #57 with "Bad Bohemian".
And lastly, for a relatively dominant week on debuts for the UK, Marika Hackman comes in at #72 with the catchy "Boyfriend".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 24/4/17 Edition No.389 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Although I am yet to actually buy DAMN. (waiting for the physical release, come on JB please don't put it off another week!), it's clearly the most captivating LP of 2017 thus far. It's easy for new albums to sound fresh and interesting, but this is entirely distinct. Not only is he not far off becoming the 10th artist on my last.fm to hit 1000 plays, but he will surely overtake Jay-Z after I acquire the album on Friday (once again I will be so pissed if I've waited all for another delay). After 10 top 10 hits spanning the past four years, however, Kendrick Lamar finally reaches the summit of the chart. "YAH." is his first ever #1, and the first #1 debut since "A 1000 Times" last September. If I'm not mistaken its just the 18th song to achieve this feat to date.
Expanding on the above, why do I love "YAH."? It's unlike anything he or anyone else has ever done before, quite simply. It has this slow, intoxicating beat to it, Kendrick's effortless verses flow amazingly, and there's so many quirks to what is a very dense production. It debuts at #1, the 146th in the chart's history, and also the 13th rap song to do so (if you include "Frankie Sinatra" but exclude "Hotline Bling" fyi). WALLA.
Up next is a song that rivalled "YAH." very early on in the piece but lost momentum later in the week. Once again, a sound not yet explored by Kendrick but another canvas for his rapping to seamlessly build around. "PRIDE." debuts at #6.
And now for the one that was (understandably) a lot more hyped. I don't quite enjoy the film clip as much as others though. Kendrick Lamar enters with "DNA." at #8.
So I joked a couple of weeks ago that U2 had "entered" my chart but I seemed to have summoned them! Because of course they ended up on a Kendrick Lamar somehow, and it's one of the album's highlights. It's U2's second ever entry, for real this time. Just outside the top 10 at #11 is "XXX.".
The top five debuts all belong to Kendrick because here we go again. And similar to "YAH.", another song where the lack of critical acclaim towards it just baffles me. Zacari sounds like a more youthful The Weeknd and does a great job on this. At #24 it's "LOVE.", just a few spots below Lana Del Rey's track of the same name.
Back to regularly scheduled programming... sort of? Last year there was a particular someone on this site that quite liked a GoldLink song, and after giving his new stuff a decent go, I've been rewarded. No idea who Ciscero is but he/she/they feature on "Same Clothes As Yesterday", which is also GoldLink's first entry.
BNQT (pronounced Banquet) is a supergroup featuring members of Band of Horses, Grandaddy, Midlake, Travis and absolutely no one else. Their vintage-sounding track "Restart" comes in at #53.
And I'm not done! Six debuts for Kendrick today with "GOD." at #63, which is his 24th overall including credits.
Royal Blood have racked up 7 debuts already now :O New tune "Lights Out" means they have had at least one entry every year in the past four, coming in at #79.
And now for a band that has really smashed the entries with so much room for more. The last time I made commentary about them I believe I said their last album was "Maybelene", so although it's nearly 1am I feel like this time around I am certainly more awake. Given this is pretty much their shortest song yet though, I've written way too much. The Love Junkies come in for their 21st entry overall with "Past Intense" at #92. It's their third lowest ever only outpeaking debut album cuts "Maybelene" and "Spinning".
Everyone together now, know that we forever buzzin' ~

Noise Pollution (ft. Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Zoe Manville) (Version A, Vocal Up Mix 1.3)
Well DAMN. First time listening to YAH. but it's good. Probably my fifth favourite (behind the four that have made the ARIA chart) of the ones I've heard from the album so far. Great to see DNA. and LOVE. amongst those DAMN. debuts. I like seeing HUMBLE., What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?, Sweet, In Cold Blood and Good Day move up too.
Gosh I haven't commented in so long. Fortunately have more time on my hands now so hopefully I can make more of a habit. WD Soulja Boy at #1! YAH. is an interesting one for me, not immediate enough to be a favourite, but the production is so sweet (reminds me of Madlib a little) that it's gonna sound great going back to it after the moment has passed, which is how I feel about a lot of TPAB stuff now. PRIDE./DNA/XXX. all big favourites though of course. Great Marling picks in the top 20 too, two of my favourites from that album, so EOY action is not out of the question for me. New Royal Blood is growing on me quite quickly.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 1/5/17 Edition No.390 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Last week was only just the beginning of Kendrick Lamar's dominance in the charts following the release of "DAMN.", as now he holds five positions inside the top 8. At the top of this list remains "YAH." for the second consecutive week, ahead of At the Drive-In's rocker "Incurably Innocent" and Kendrick's "HUMBLE.". There is some distance between the top 3 tracks and the rest, however I'm that satisfied with the order from last week that "Flow", "3WW" and "PRIDE." all retain their spots from last week to make for an identical top 6. Among all the Kenny is some big moves for Little Dragon and Alt-J, the former of which achieves their second ever top 10 hit with "Sweet" now aiming for "Pretty Girls" notoriety. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are still not done with their "Flying Microtonal Banana" LP it seems, with "Anoxia" zooming into the top 20. A new set of tracks coming through soon may end this run quickly, or even more amusingly could make things a bit confusing. Joe Goddard sneaks into the top 20 with "Home" ahead of yet another Kendrick song in "LOVE.", whilst "GOD." rounds out a top 35 that is more than one-quarter full of Kendrick Lamar songs.
There was always going to be a strong likelihood of a second round of Kendrick debuts following the release of "DAMN.", the first of which is the grower "LUST." which reminds me of various things but surprisingly not BADBADNOTGOOD. It debuts at #13.
So it's rare that I get any recommendations from my family these days but it turns out that this is a new but awesome song that I had not heard. Aminé also directs the film clip for the very fun "REDMERCEDES" which debuts at #19. Think clipping. except cheerful.
It eventually sold me over but I really like "ELEMENT." too. Including credits it becomes Kendrick Lamar's 26th entry to date, coming at #31.
Sadly both ruins the ALLCAPS party with the debuts, but also is the only non-hip hop debut for the week by an artist who is quite well-known for some hip hop songs. But it's not all bad news, because K.Flay breaks the one-hit wonder tag having not been sighted on this chart since 2013 #3-peaker "Hail Mary". Her track "High Enough" comes in at #41.
And lastly, a song I heard in the same 10 minute space on triple j as "High Enough", a track by CyHi the Prynce entitled "Nu Africa". I'm going to have to study the lyrics when I get the time, but for now it enters at #56.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 8/5/17 Edition No.391 Songs retire at 75 weeks
That's not a mistake, the swap has happened! At the Drive-In continue to push for top spot with "Incurably Innocent" at #2 again, now for its fourth consecutive week. With "LUST." moving into the top 10, Kendrick Lamar now has 6 songs in the top 9. With "YAH." slipping down to #3, he achieves his second #1 to date with "HUMBLE." jumping two spots to leapfrog its way to #1.
First debut this week is... Kendrick Lamar. Although this is yet another wonderful moment on the record, I'm thinking this might be his last entry from the album. Emphasis on "might" though. "FEEL." debuts at #15.
They are currently doing rather well with "Incurably Innocent" and it's only fitting that they have the second highest debut of the week behind Kendrick. At the Drive-In achieve their second entry to date with "Hostage Stamps" at #31.
So this song is rather ancient and I don't really care. Migos enter for their first ever entry with "Bad and Boujee" coming in at #38.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have quickly built up to 9 entries now, spreading across four records. Their new album is out next month and "Digital Black" is the most conventional song out thus far from it. It debuts at #56.
And lastly, a messy collaboration enters the chart. The one and only Sufjan Stevens is soon to release a new album with The National guitarist Bryce Dessner, notable classical music composer Nico Muhly and Sufjan live musician James McAlister. It's a collaboration that makes more sense than the resulting scattered synth-pop sound. Sufjan is the only artist to have debuted before following his 2015 #14-peaker "Should Have Known Better". The four of them enter at #85 with "Saturn".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 15/5/17 Edition No.392 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Not all of his songs have continued dominating this week, but Kendrick Lamar is still on top once again. "HUMBLE." stays at #1 as we have the same three songs in the top 3 for nearly a month now. Aminé and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard launch into the top 10 while Little Dragon finally make a move of their own to get closer to another top 5 hit. Migos' "Bad and Boujee" is also another surprise, jumping 24 spots up to #14.
FINALLY Grizzly Bear are back! Definitely a heavier, darker sound with "Three Rings" which debuts at #20. It's the band's 15th entry to date, having first debuted back in 2009 with "While You Wait For The Others" but having a five-year absence in the charts with 2012's #99-peaker "A Simple Answer" their most recent debutant.
Well, the issue with "You're In Love With a Psycho" was that I was put off by it initially, but having heard it a bit more I've fallen into its grooves. It's their 16th entry to date, comfortably outpeaking "Comeback Kid" in the process.
Each week of the "DAMN." era thus far I have fallen in love with a particular track and this week it's "DUCKWORTH.", which has certainly caught me by surprise. I can't really chart "BLOOD." or "LOYALTY" so here's to find out if "FEAR." happens next week? Probably not "DUCKWORTH." comes in at #40, equalling Franz Ferdinand's record for 24 entries, but when you include credits it makes for 28 (I theoretically count this, but just not in my confusing spreadsheets & stats; therefore, he broke the record a couple of weeks ago!).
FINALLY Cloud Control are back! While their wait to return has been somewhat shorter, the release of this single has been rather delayed hence the anticipation has built to an even greater extent to Grizzly Bear. I absolutely adored "Dream Cave" so hopefully the new album is just as good. "Rainbow City" comes in at #47, their 13th entry to date.
And now for a band that has never actually made my chart before. Chicago outfit The Orwells come in at #79 with the short and sweet "Fry".

Noise Pollution (ft. Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Zoe Manville) (Version A, Vocal Up Mix 1.3)
More Kendrick! Why am I not surprised I do like seeing Sweet and Bad And Boujee move up. Kinda sad to see I Feel It Coming but I'm very impressed at how long it charted for. Only lasted 18 weeks for me!
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 22/5/17 Edition No.393 Songs retire at 75 weeks
so tired.
Anyway Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE." is #1 for a third week, but looming as a possible new leader is his own "LUST." which moves up to #2. Aminé launches into the top 5 with "REDMERCEDES" at #3, while At the Drive-In end their 5 consecutive weeks at #2 as "Incurably Innocent" moves down to #5.
I keep learning more and more about Underground Lovers. I quickly realised that the addition of "The Rerun" to my library has doubled the size of my collection of theirs ("Looking For Rain" is quality ftr). I also learnt that they are Australian too, and Victorian at that! "The Rerun" enters at #9, their first entry to date.
From being the centrepiece of the memeifed "yah yah yah yah" video to having two songs in the top 15, what a few weeks it has been on the chart for Lil Uzi Vert. "XO TOUR Llif3" is ridiculously catchy and to the point, and earns a debut at #15.
Five debuts now for Queenslanders WAAX, and this is already the second highest of the bunch. "Wild & Weak" was pretty instant for me debuting at #19 and we'll have to see if it can match their all-time best peak of #6 for "I For An Eye".
Vampire Weekend have made a pretty widespread impact on my chart, it's fair to say. 18 debuts as a band, Ezra has 2 credited entries, Rostam has 3 and now bassist Chris Baio has one. Of course, I'm anticipating Chris Tomson to drop the banger of 2018. "PHILOSOPHY!" debuts at #35.
Up next is a band that have somehow missed out on charting until now, although I've never been their biggest fan. The National have an EOY entry, and now they can add a chart entry with "The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness" entering at #43.
Meg Mac released one of the surprises of 2015 with "Never Be" making my top 10 and getting a placing in my EOY. Since then she has released her debut record and the title track "Low Blows" becomes her second entry to date coming at #46.
Plenty of really positive reviews for Mike Hadreas a.k.a Perfume Genius' record "No Shape", and the track "Slip Away" really stands out for me in the track listing. I'm hoping the album grows a bit more on me but for now the aforementioned track debuts as his first entry to date at #59.
And now, Flume's newie. Including credits, that's entry number 21 for him with "Hyperreal" coming at #66. Kučka enters for the second time, having also featured on Flume's "Smoke & Retribution" in 2016.
So what other mega popstars haven't I covered on this chart now?? Actual Katy Perry debuts on my chart at #84 with "Bon Appétit".
And lastly, having really enjoyed this in their album Methyl Ethel debut at #88 with "Drink Wine".

XO Tour Llif3 has been growing. However I'm much more excited to see Low Blows, Hyperreal and wow Bon Appétit. Meg Mac's album hasn't been released yet though Bad And Boujee into the top 10 is cool and I hope Sweet can sneak into the top 5.
Oh and wow that Flume is up to 21 entries. In comparison he's only charted 12 times for me Last edited:
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 29/5/17 Edition No.394 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I couldn't resist. Just over a month ago, Kendrick Lamar had never hit #1 on the chart, and now he has achieved his third #1 with "LUST.". Moving down one spot is "HUMBLE." leaving Aminé and At the Drive-In keeping steady. Little Dragon move into the top 5 ahead of moves for Underground Lovers and Migos. Lil Uzi Vert and Kasabian also rise into the top 10.
A less exciting list of debuts this week but Crooked Colours deservedly get the top one. "I Hope You Get It" featuring Ivan Ooze is their third entry to date coming in at #29, following up their #1 hit earlier in 2017 "Flow".
It's very satisfying hearing a cheerful San Cisco song grow on me gradually. "Hey, Did I Do You Wrong?" is their 8th entry to date coming at #37.
Perhaps I will review this at some stage to provide more info about why I'm liking this, but for now I'm just going to leave this here. BROCKHAMPTON enter at #48 with "Heat".
Getting Nick Cave vibes here, with "Moment" by Canadian band Timber Timbre entering at #59.
Not far below, Londoners HMLTD enter at #65 with the eclectic "Music!".
Seasoned "veterans" of the chart Fleet Foxes are back for more at #71 with "Fool's Errand". It's actually only their fourth entry to date. Only time will tell if it can outpeak The Love Junkies' similarly titled #26-peaker "A Fool's Errand" from 2015.
The last debut of the week comes from an artist that I don't chart often, but usually have plenty of replay value from what I do like. It's Wavves of course, with "You're Welcome" at #84. It's their third entry to date.
And I love "We The People...." so yeah it's back.

Hey, Did I Do You Wrong?! Pleased to see it makes its way into your chart, almost as high as it got for me. Low Blows and Bon Appétit moving up is cool, but shame that Hyperreal dropped. We The People.... back in the chart is great too.
I will be broadcasting my retrospective 2004 EOY this Sunday night, keep an eye out for my EOY thread for more details
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 5/6/17 Edition No.395 Songs retire at 75 weeks
"LUST." is my favourite song of the week again, but this time by quite a distance.
The first of four debuts this week comes from Arcade Fire, a band that has not graced the chart since the remarkable "Reflektor" record. At #37 is "Everything Now", their 8th entry to date.
While it was already the case, Kasabian have charted across four albums on my chart as of this year, which is just staggering and makes me feel old. "Sixteen Blocks" debuts just below "Comeback Kid" at #53. It's their 17th entry to date.
Not long after their first chart entry, Goldfrapp now have another with "Moon In Your Mouth" at #59.
Now we head across the detch with Aldous Harding making her first impact on the chart thus far. The soft "Blend" enters at #76.
Quiet week for debuts. I'm glad Everything Now is one of those debuts, though. Sweet getting closer to the top could be described as sweet I guess, and I do like seeing both Hey, Did I Do You Wrong? and Low Blows moving up. I'm interesting to see who of you and jinx ends up charting XO TOUR Llif3 higher.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 12/6/17 Edition No.396 Songs retire at 75 weeks
No change to the top two with Kendrick Lamar celebrating his 8th consecutive week at #1, with "LUST." having achieved three of them.
Up first is a quick follow-up to a current hit, with Grizzly Bear finding themselves with another top 10 placing in "Mourning Sound" coming at #7.
Further down we have the penultimate track to Underground Lovers' latest album, with the instantly memorable "Every Sign" debuting at #36.
Now for a band that hasn't graced the chart in a few years but I'm glad they're back in. The Drums come in with their 10th entry to date "Blood Under My Belt" at #45.
Ernest Greene has been responsible for five previous entries under his Washed Out project, almost all from his 2013 record "Paracosm" which yielded the number one hit "It All Feels Right". Four years on he follows up with the bouncy "Get Lost" at #54.
A few weeks ago Katy Perry charted for the first time, and now it's Selena Gomez. I am slowly turning into a full pop stan... or maybe I just like "Bad Liar", which enters at #79.
While too much trap is definitely such a thing, Migos have now charted for the third time. "T-Shirt" from their latest release "Culture" comes in at #87.
The songs I know from Selena's last album were all of consistent quality and Bad Liar continues that trend, so it's cool to see it make your chart. Sweet, Everything Now, Hey, Did I Do You Wrong? and Low Blows all continuing their ascent is awesome.
I wish you could have a hangover from Nonagon Infinity just so you could be charting 3 different King Gizz albums at once OMG at this Underground Lovers renaissance, I can only hope fellow alumni, the likes of The Sharp or Rebecca's Empire can one day join them. I appreciate Quavo slowly taking over the entire chart. Phew, I'm not cut out for comments like this, I need some wahta.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 19/6/17 Edition No.397 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Kendrick Lamar has been dethroned after holding top spot on the chart for two months. He is replaced by Grizzly Bear's new track "Mourning Sound". It is the Brooklyn four-piece's third #1 after "Dory" in 2010" and "Yet Again" in 2012.
One of the bigger disappointments in 2017 was turning out to be Mac DeMarco, but I take it back somewhat after getting into the cheekily titled "One Another". It is his 9th entry in the chart to date, and 4th highest peaker already behind "Passing Out Pieces", "Chamber of Reflection" and "Another One".
Secondly, a reminder that the YouTube sidebar can be used for good and not evil, sometimes. Hippo Campus impressed me instantly with "Way It Goes" which comes in at #35.
I know of Jack Antonoff's work already having charted a few Fun. songs as well as Lorde's new material which he has helped produce. Bleachers debuts at #39 with "I Miss Those Days".
Beach House released two LPs in 2015 yet still didn't cover all bases, with this track being just one example of a great tune that remained unreleased until now. "Chariot" is their 10th entry to date coming in at #50.
Having now amassed 5 entries, Swedish outfit Little Dragon have done a decent job in 2017 to follow up on their 2014 material. "Strobe Light" comes in at #64.
And while we're on the subject of following up on 2014 material, The War on Drugs finally! The previous single wasn't quite doing it for me but "Holding On" is more entertaining, and as their 4th entry to date comes in at #74.
Coming elements from various previous songs as well as some bizarre spoken word sections, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard still manage a 10th entry somehow. "The Lord of Lightning" enters at #80.
And lastly, a band that has had to be very patient in debuting on this chart but after quite some time it has made it. More beachness with Beach Fossils at #85 with "Down the Line".
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 26/6/17 Edition No.398 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Two weeks on top for Grizzly Bear now as "Mourning Sound" outlasts two of Kendrick's big hits again. The top four remains solid but GoldLink is the big mover leaping to #5 with "Same Clothes As Yesterday".
Despite my rapidly growing love for this, it's still a rather strange debut. Mike Will Made-It debuts with his first credited entry outside of his standard production duties, coming in with "Perfect Pint" from his latest record "Ransom 2". It features Kendrick Lamar (29th entry including credits), Gucci Mane (2nd) and Rae Sremmurd (2nd) and it comes in at #30.
And now for a [s]Foster The People cover[/s] band by the name of Sir Sly. "High" debuts at #41, with it being the fourth entry of that title after tracks from Peking Duk, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib featuring Danny Brown and Little Dragon.
And now for the 7th(?) German artist to make my chart, with the now US-based NoMBe who enters at #46 with "Freak Like Me".
It's a travesty that, before today, stoner rockers Queens of the Stone Age had just two entries on my chart. "The Way You Used to Do" makes it three now coming at #55.
Following up on the title track "Everything Now" is the next entry for Arcade Fire. "Creature Comfort" is the Canadian outfit's 9th entry debuting at #61.
And lastly another band with their 9th entry in Wolf Alice. It has been a decent year for lead singer Ellie Rowsell even up until the band's first 2017 entry now, with her uncredited effort on Alt-J's "3WW" managing a week at #1. The band come in at #80 with "Yuk Foo".

Ooh at Mike Will Made-It charting. Haven't heard it. Also don't know if I've heard that NoMBe song before or not. Great to see Everything Now move into the top 10 and a small rise for Bad Liar.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 3/7/17 Edition No.399 Songs retire at 75 weeks
For the first time in nearly three months, Kendrick Lamar is out of the top 2 and his hits continue to decline this week. Grizzly Bear celebrate a third week on top with "Mourning Sound" whilst GoldLink's unlikely hit "Same Clothes As Yesterday" moves up to #2.
The first debut this week is a major banger. Michigan rappers Bones and Danny Brown combine on "SeanPaulWasNeverThereToGimmeTheLight" at #7. Sean Paul is not from Michigan.
Vince Staples debuts at #19 with "Big Fish" after I listened to the album during the week. It features uncredited vocals from Juicy J, whose two previous credited chart entries have actually peaked higher (#11-peaker "Multiply" by A$AP Rocky, and #5-peaker "Yamborghini High" by A$AP Mob).
This time around it's a bit more annoying that the features aren't credited, despite it making the whole labelling so much neater. Vince Staples enters at #28 with "Yeah Right", which features a verse each from Kučka and Kendrick Lamar, along with production by SOPHIE and Flume. Only SOPHIE has been yet to grace the chart and again Kučka's entries are in conjunction with Flume, having previously charted with "Smoke & Retribution" and "Hyperreal", the former of which featured Staples also. yeaaaaaaaaaaah.
Hardly surprising how this has already made the ACI. Aussie unearthed outfit Haiku Hands debut at #47 with "Not About You".
I'm sold enough on this, and glad to hear new stuff from them. A third chart era for Everything Everything as they enter at #51 with "Can't Do", their fifth entry to date.
And lastly a first-time entrant with Canadians Land Of Talk. They are a band that I had initially thought no one knew of but apparently two friends have scrobbled them "Loving" enters at #90.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 10/7/17 Edition No.400 Songs retire at 75 weeks
400 charts! Grizzly Bear celebrate in style with their fourth week at #1 for "Mourning Sound".
First up is an artist most well known for his work in the '90s but more recently featured on Kendrick Lamar's "Good Kid, m.A.A.d City" record, easily one of my favourite hip hop records of all time. Hence it is great to see that MC Eiht has released his first album in over a decade, and "Compton Zoo" has made a big impression on me. His first entry in the chart, it enters at #10.
A band that is really starting to accumulate the entries, with nine now including three from each of their three albums. "Deadcrush" by Alt-J enters at #13.
Not sure why this has randomly grown on me but here we go. French Montana enters at #37 with "Unforgettable".
I was definitely disappointed for a fair while with Father John Misty's new album "Pure Comedy" but it has grown on me over time. Case in point, an entry at #43 with "When the God of Love Returns There'll Be Hell to Pay" which is his 15th to date.
A friend of mine remarked that King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's "Murder of the Universe" would be so much better without the spoken word parts, albeit put less elegantly. I can't help but agree, although "Vomit Coffin" is a highlight. It is their 11th entry to date coming in at #49.
Out of the select tracks I've heard of theirs this is easily the most enjoyable. Boston art rock band Guerilla Toss enter for the first time with "Can I Get the Real Stuff" at #64.
Up next is a band that just keeps on giving, and I can't wait until 18 August. Grizzly Bear come in at #76 with the eerie "Four Cypresses".
And with the last entrant I thought I would take it easy, eassyyy, easyyyyy. Drake enters at #88 with his 10th entry as main artist, "Signs".

When the God of Love Returns There'll Be Hell to Pay
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 17/7/17 Edition No.401 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A new #1 with the slow burner "Same Clothes As Yesterday" by GoldLink having worked its way to the top. Grizzly Bear's reign at the top is over, with Hippo Campus, MC Eiht and something else making up the top 5...
"FEAR." is that something else, with Kendrick Lamar debuting straight to #5 with the longest track on "DAMN.". The song has continued to grow on me for a while and I wasn't going to chart it for a while but I can't ignore it for any longer. It's his 30th entry including credits.
Up next is a band making waves on this chart in recent weeks with a top 5 hit and now a follow-up. Having heard their album in full I wasn't convinced there'd be too much more to draw upon, but I've been wrong before. Hippo Campus enter at #14 with "Buttercup".
WAT TEH FEK is with the fact that my favourite songs on "Man of the World" have to be the all-caps ones? The more frustrating aspect is that this Baio song is legitimately titled "DANGEROUE ANAMAL", with the first typo possibly understandable but the second completely inexcusable. Or intentional, meh. It debuts at #52.
Metric lead singer Emily Haines has contributed to 5 chart hits previously with her band and now she comes in for her first solo entry. "Fatal Gift" debuts at #56.
Jay-Z hasn't made an impact on the chart since 2013 and since then hip hop on my chart has changed somewhat. Still though, "The Story of O.J." has an engaging and atmospheric sound to it and it debuts at #65, his 26th entry to date including credits.

When the God of Love Returns There'll Be Hell to Pay
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 24/7/17 Edition No.402 Songs retire at 75 weeks
GoldLink ensures that we have the same number one as yesterday, with his track "Same Clothes As Yesterday" remaining on top for a second week.
Bombay Bicycle Club lead singer Jack Steadman has released his own solo album under the pseudonym Mr Jukes. It's fairly decent and the standout is this track "Leap of Faith" debuting today at #22. It's the first entry for each artist (though separately Bombay Bicycle Club have had 9 entries), with iconic hip hop trio De La Soul and Jamaican singer Horace Andy featured on this track.
Although I was slightly late on it I didn't mind a number of tracks from the debut Alvvays album, but I was keen to hear something new from them. Alas, I now have, and it's around about what I wanted to hear from them in the first place. "In Undertow" is their first entry and it comes in at #33.
And unintentionally finishing off the nice ordering of these debuts is Queensland band Fight Ibis, who appear for the first time with "Dorothy Deadleg" at #44. They're one of the countless Unearthed bands whose sound originates somewhat from the Cloud Control era of indie rock bands, but this song in particular reminds me of that Baptism of Uzi song a number of years back.
And while we're at it with describing similarities, the new British India song seriously sounds like "60 Miles an Hour" but with a more visceral Foals-like chorus. "Precious" is their 17th entry to date across their prolific career, having last made the chart in 2015 with two tracks from their "Nothing Touches Me" record.
As for artists that haven't charted since a 2015 album... hey Calvin Harris! You should probably know "Feels" already and it debuts at #76. It's Calvin's 10th entry including features, Pharrell Williams' 9th, Katy Perry's 2nd and Big Sean's 6th.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 31/7/17 Edition No.403 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It was close but we have a new #1, with shoegazers Slowdive debuting at the top with "Don't Know Why".
Slowdive peaked at #4 with their first entry "Star Roving" earlier this year. However I didn't think their second entry would make this much of an impact, with "Don't Know Why" the 13th song to spend time at #1 in 2017.
Up next is a band that I listened thanks to a Double J rec, so I have them to thank. All Our Exes Live In Texas is one of the better band names out there, with "Candle" their first charter coming at #23.
Lorde has 7 entries under her belt (including credits) now with "Writer In the Dark" making it in at #36. It's not the latest single but it appears to be one of the more popular album tracks anyway.
Bands that surprisingly took until 2017 to first appear on my chart #424093204: Manchester Orchestra! Having enjoyed some of their previous output I am pleased to enjoy "The Gold", which comes in at #41.
Now for a band that has had a decent list of entries thus far. Wolf Alice debut with their 10th entry "Don't Delete the Kisses" at #44, just nine spots below "3WW".
After six entries with Parquet Courts, A. Savage has released quite a neat solo track. "Winter in the South" is a song consisting of brass sung by a white guy that isn't James Keogh, and it enters at #69.
And now for a band that is about to drop its 19th album in 14 years, under its 4th name following yet another name change. Thee Oh Sees are now just Oh Sees, and their energetic rocker "The Static God" debuts at #80, their first entry to date.
Tyler, The Creator's new album seems to have impressed many, and I need to get around to hearing it. One of the record's lead singles is here at least, with "Who Dat Boy" coming in at #87, Tyler's 2nd entry and A$AP Rocky's 15th in total.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 7/8/17 Edition No.404 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A perfect two weeks at #1 thus far for Slowdive's "Don't Know Why". All Our Exes Live In Texas and The War On Drugs move up into the top three. Not only is it the first top five in four months without Kendrick Lamar, it's also the first top three in nearly four months without a hip hop track. Hip hop is dead, tell the kids.
...except that it's here to stay, and GoldLink's album "At What Cost" was another surprisingly solid release. His track "Roll Call" featuring Mýa (yes actually her!!) comes in at #19. I have more to say on this song and I'm sure I'll get it all out one day.
And thanks to a certain someone on the forum, this track by Holiday Party has become a nice discovery. "I'm Still Here" is the Queensland band's first entry coming at #42.
I've had quite an amazing journey with Cloud Control, having first charted them over seven years ago with "Gold Canary" and loving their first two albums since that moment. Their third album is set to be released on my birthday which is quite exciting, and the (sort of) title track "Zone (This Is How It Feels" comes in at #46. It's their 14th entry to date.
And for one of the few bands still active that predates Cloud Control in this chart era is up next, Grizzly Bear! Their last single was probably proof that I'll chart anything that moves from them, but the nifty "Neighbors" is more solid and it comes in at #57, their 18th entry to date.
GoldLink is back for a third entry and this time the features are even more bizarre. On this track we have Wale of all people who comes in with his first entry, as does Radiant Children, which appears to be the pseudonym for the song's producer Marco Bernardis. "Summatime" comes in at #63.
One Washed Out song out, and one takes its place. "Floating By" is an apt title and it enters at #82, his 7th entry to date.
I got this song and "Deadcrush" mixed up initially because I mistakenly had it in my head that the latter was the one with the out of place swearing. This is pretty good though despite the rawness of it. "Hit Me Like That Snare" is Alt-J's 10th entry to date and it comes in at #94 to round out the week.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 14/8/17 Edition No.405 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Slowdive keep up their solid run with three weeks at #1 with "Don't Know Why". All Our Exes Live In Texas are held at #2 with "Candle", while we have the exact same top 5 as "Holding On", "Same Clothes As Yesterday" and "Big Fish" retain the same spots.
After my #2 album of 2014, DZ Deathrays released two slightly underwhelming singles last year. They're back with the new "Shred For Summer" at #6, which is already their third highest peaking track out of 14 entries thus far.
Another bunch of Queenslanders and this time it's The Belligerents who are aiming to follow two consecutive years of EOY entries. "Flash" is their third entry thus far and it comes in at #13.
It has been an impressive winter for Washington, D.C. rapper GoldLink, with #1 track "Same Clothes As Yesterday" and new top 10 hit "Roll Call". His third highest peaker and fourth entry overall "Kokamoe Freestyle" comes in at #18.
A solid week of high debuts with four in the top third of the chart, as we have an artist new to the chart in Coast Modern. The LA duo come in at #32 with "Dive" lifted from their self-titled debut album.
Put Caribou's "Silver" on and skip straight to 3:54. Now put Cults' "Offering" on. You're welcome.
Two years ago iconic UK band Belle and Sebastian made their first appearance on the chart with "The Party Line". Now they're back with "We Were Beautiful" at a higher peak of #76.
And lastly, Norwegians Sløtface come in for their third entry "Pitted" at #88.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 21/8/17 Edition No.406 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Four perfect weeks for Slaydive.
Up first this week is the strangest cover of 2017 by quite a distance, to the point where it's rather unrecognisable. Alt-J's "House of the Rising Sun" is devastatingly beautiful. It enters at #5.
At this point I'm not one to care for how old this is, but it's a song that has grown quite quickly on me in the past week. NAV at #6 with "Myself", the first entry from the Canadian of Indian heritage.
I would look up random info I've already read before about Tiny Little Houses but the Unearthed site is down Anyway they've been in the chart a couple of times before but never this high, as "Garbage Bin" comes in at #17.
Slowdive's self-titled record is taking its sweet time growing on me but this track was quite instant really. "Go Get It" is their second entrant and it enters at #25.
Phoenix are next, three years after their "Bankrupt!" album. "Ti Amo" is the title track from the new album and it enters at #37, their fourth entry to date.
Typing no "& Ryan Lewis" looks wrong & naked But in any case, Macklemore now has 7 entries and Skylar Grey with her first, as "Glorious" enters fittingly at #69.
And lastly, I don't know much about Tigertown but having belatedly enjoyed "Take Me Away" somewhat I was intrigued to hear this track. "Warriors" is cut from a very similar cloth and it enters at #79, their first entry to date.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 28/8/17 Edition No.407 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Despite pressure from GoldLink and DZ Deathrays, it's another week on top for Slowdive with five weeks at the top of the chart.
First debut this week comes from UK group The Horrors. They last charted a few years back with "So Now You Know" and are following that album with the upcoming "V" record. Easily outpeaking that track, however, is the instantly impressive "Something To Remember Me By" at #12.
This is in equal parts a very distressing and euphoric moment from Jay-Z. "4:44" the song debuts at #19.
Another artist with a second debut today, with Aussie rocker Ecca Vandal coming at #38 with "Broke Days, Party Nights".
The Jezabels have had some chart action up until this point despite deserving far more, but they return after their "Synthia" record in 2016 yielded two entries. At #47 is the band's fifth entry to date titled "The Others".
Meanwhile, US rapper GoldLink has racked up five entries in a far quicker timeframe. At #55 is a song I've known for quite a while but resisted charting until now, entitled "Meditation". It's KAYTRANADA's third entry to date following his own "BULLETS" and "GLOWED UP", and it's Jazmine Sullivan's first.
It has been quite a year for the Gizz. First taking out my 2016 album list with a record I had not actually heard, followed quickly by an album dabbling in microtonal music but turning over a significant set of big chart hits. Then, the release of the strange "Murder of the Universe" record yielded three entries, and now we have the band's third album this year "Sketches of Brunswick East". I like Brunswick East, and hopefully I end up enjoying this record more than the last one. "The Book" at #75 is their 12th entry to date, and it's Mild High Club's second following 2015 entrant "Windowpane".
And lastly, moderately popular duo Set Mo debut at #91 with "I Belong Here". It's their first entry and Woodes' third.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 4/9/17 Edition No.408 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I had a suspicion that last week's top 4 was quite hard to crack, and it proves to be the case as we don't have any movement there this week. Slowdive are coming for Boy's record of the best start to a song's chart run ever, with the latter's inaugural 7-week run at #1 for "We Were Here" just one week more than "Don't Know Why" now. Tiny Little Houses make up the top 5 with "Garbage Bin", knocking out fellow Aussie artist with a cool name All Our Exes Live In Texas.
The brand new Brand New album has been highly anticipated by their loyal fanbase, and even I've shown some interest. It has taken me a few tracks to be able to grab onto something though, with "Same Logic / Teeth" impressing me this past week. It's their second entry to date coming in at #28.
Big name artist to chart for the first time in 2017 #44294029409124 = LCD Soundsystem! After a couple of slightly underwhelming singles I quite like "tonite", which enters at #48.
Four entries for Queens of the Stone Age is really quite sad at this stage but hopefully there will be more where "Domesticated Animals" came from. It enters at #56.
So as a result of this track, I can creatively say that the first four artists listed alphabetically in my iTunes library are all in the chart - A$AP Ferg/Mob/Rocky via this track, as well as A. Savage coincidentally. In fact, this track features quite the smorgasbord of rappers (nine in total), some of which I've not even heard of before. In terms of each artist I currently have the following number of entries following this debut - A$AP Ferg (4), A$AP Rocky (17), A$AP Twelvyy (2), Joey Bada$$ (5), Kirk Knight (1), Nyuk Caution (1), Meechy Darko (2) & Zombie Juice (1), Playboi Carti (1). I was quite surprised to (re)learn that Meechy Darko had a verse on Freddie Gibbs & Madlib's "Piñata". Otherwise it so happens that this song is just as much of a mouthful as these notes, with Genius counting a total of 22 verses in addition to instances of the main hook. A$AP Mob's "What Happens" comes in at #65.
And because this week hasn't been strange enough, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso's collaborative single "More Than You Know" comes in at #97. This is their second entry after Swedish House Mafia's "Miami 2 Ibiza".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 11/9/17 Edition No.409 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Slowdive have impressively equalled the record of fellow Europeans Boy, having spent its first seven weeks in the chart all at #1. It has some way to go, however, if it wants to beat the all-time record of 9 weeks in total set by "Waitress".
Alt-J's "RELAXER" album has had quite literal application in recent weeks for me as I've really been enjoying the more sombre tracks of the record. Coming in with the 6th entry from the album and their 12th overall is "Last Year" at #16.
Another artist I've been listening to a lot recently is Purity Ring. Their new single "Asido" has been a slow burner for me but it finally gives them their 4th entry, entering at #25.
A KOL-sounding riff and a vibe not dissimilar to "Cough Syrup"? Yes please. The National come in at #32 for their second entry "Day I Die".
Catchy Aussie indie rock with Zefereli entering in at #53 with "Fake Happiness".
The next debut is kind of a mix between ShockOne's "Harmonize" and any Justice song. At #76 New Zealand outfit Yoko-Zuna enter with "Voltron".Among a number of low debuts is the one and only Beck, who comes in for his 5th entry "Dear Life" at #85.
I can't believe it has been three years since "Heart Beats Slow", and that Angus & Julia Stone are back with a new album. "Chateau" is their 4th entry coming in at #87.
I keep reading this band's name not as a portmanteau and therefore incorrectly, but it's Portland, OR band Reptaliens who come in at #92 with their first ever entry "If You Want".
And lastly, a less refined Wolf Alice, and fittingly also British, are INHEAVEN. They enter for the first time with "Treats" at #97.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 18/9/17 Edition No.410 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I've finally made up for hopelessly undercharting "Easy" by Melburnian band Tiny Little Houses with their new track "Garbage Bin" cracking #1. It ends a seven-week reign for Slowdive, who move down two places to #3 with "Don't Know Why". It was a good week (but could have been better) for Alt-J, who move up to #2 and #4 with "House of the Rising Sun" and "Last Year" respectively. Jay-Z hits his highest placing since a number of "Watch The Throne" tracks from 2011/2012, with "4:44" moving up to #5, of course one place lower than it needs to be.
"Don't Know Why"'s days of dominance may appear numbered but Slowdive are far from finished. "No Longer Making Time" is another beautiful cut from their album coming in at #32.
St. Vincent comes in with her second entry to date, entering at #35 with "Los Ageless".
Having totally fallen for "RELAXER", I've now charted all but one track from the album thanks to this latest entrant. Closing track "Pleader" has also just become a single apparently, and it enters at #43.
I'm slowly getting into Cloud Control's new album, and "Treetops" enters at #52.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 25/9/17 Edition No.411 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Two weeks for Tiny Little Houses as "Garbage Bin" manages to fend off Alt-J and Slowdive for another week, as well as a newcomer for NAV & Metro Boomin.
Strangely my initial impression on this was nothing extraordinary but this song has come out of nowhere this week to challenge for top spot. NAV comes in with his second entry, and meanwhile after a number of his productions have made it in this is Metro Boomin's first credited entry. "Call Me" comes in at #2.
An artist that I've been wanting to click with me for some time and this is far better than "Czech One". English singer Archy Marshall a.k.a. King Krule enters for the first time with "Dum Surfer" at #35.
Just one spot below outpeaking "The Way You Used to Do", Queens of the Stone Age continue to impact the chart with "Fortress" at #47.
A late week entrant having heard it thanks to the Twitterverse. Similar to King Krule, Injury Reserve are another artist I've been wanting to jump on for quite a while. They come in at #59 with "See You Sweat".
IT'S KATY PERRY DAY!!!!! I've been watching a lot of Get Krackin lately. But Katy Perry is in the chart again, this time "Swish Swish" at #82 featuring Nicki Minaj. I'm pretty sure last time I failed to mention that Katy had actually already featured in my chart previously, having debuted in my 4th ever chart back in 2009 featuring on "Starstrukk". In addition to "Bon Appétit" and "Feels" this becomes Katy's fourth entry, and after "Anaconda" it is just Nicki's second.
oh and congrats Miracle Aligner :')

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 2/10/17 Edition No.412 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A new number one this week with Indian-Canadian hip hop artist Nav and American producer Metro Boomin moving up one spot with "Call Me" in just its second week in the chart. Tiny Little Houses drop a spot to #2 with "Garbage Bin". There's a bit of a shuffling underneath them as well, with Alt-J replacing themselves in third place with "Last Year" and The Horrors making their top 5 entrance with "Something To Remember Me By" moving up two spots to #5.
There doesn't appear to be too much information available on Boniface, other than he's a young Canadian singer-songwriter. What appears to be his debut single "I Will Not Return as a Tourist" debuts at #24.
Up next is a white guy with guitar cliché, without the clichéd part. British singer Nick Mulvey's latest album is co-produced by Dan Carey, who has good taste with some #1 hits on my chart under his belt, namely "Henrietta" by Yeasayer and "Ulysses" by Franz Ferdinand (as well as having remixed "Default" by Django Django). "Mountain To Move" is in good company and it debuts at #40.
London-based The Clientele are perhaps best known in my music collection for their 2007 EOY entry for "Bookshop Casanova". A decade later they make their official debut on the chart with "Lunar Days" at #47.
I can show my inner bandwagoner when I want to (also go Richmond). I've been relatively non-plussed by the return for The Killers but it has grown on me this week. "The Man" is the band's third entry to date coming in at #48.
Another band that has contributed to my retrospective EOY entries and having also made an appearance here is Destroyer, however unlike The Clientele they've done it the other way around. After 2015's "Times Square", they also snuck into my 2008 list with "Dark Leaves Form a Thread", and now they're back with a new album. "Tinseltown Swimming in Blood" has a wicked bass riff and it enters at #53.
Following up their current top 5 charter "Something To Remember Me By", The Horrors have a third entry at #64 with "Press Enter To Exit".
Swedish punkers Makthaverskan are another band new to the chart this week, with "Eden" at #68.
The story of The Dream Syndicate is very interesting, but in short their recently released fifth album "How Did I Find Myself Here?" is their first LP release in 29 years. Eat your heart The Avalanches/Tool/My Bloody Valentine fans (**cough cough** wtf is happening The Soft Pack). They are the last debut of the week coming in at #73 with "Glide".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 9/10/17 Edition No.413 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Quite a crazy week of movement this week on the chart. NAV & Metro Boomin stay atop with "Call Me" ahead of The National's "Turtleneck" and big jumps for Alt-J's "Deadcrush" and The Horrors' "Press Enter To Exit". The only other song which manages to hang onto top 5 status besides "Call Me" is The Horrors themselves with "Something To Remember Me By", which moves up one place to #4.
If you haven't listened to "Sleep Well Beast" yet, well, you're missing out. Ohio band The National enter for the third and fourth times, with the wicked "Turtleneck" at #2 and the grand "Walk It Back" at #8.
Up next is an Aussie band whose debut album has been a delightful surprise this week. Prior to this, the band's previous three entries have all made the top 10. This may get there however their perfect record may end if I decide to chart some album tracks like only I know how. The title track "Science Fiction" comes in at #13.
I play a lot of FIFA and listen to even more music, but it's rare when the two worlds collide like they did so perfectly this week. Having heard this a heap on the new FIFA 18 game, I later queued it up on a Spotify playlist without realising what it was and then immediately made the connection. Post-rock outfit Vessels come in for the first time at #31 with "Deflect the Light", featuring veterans The Flaming Lips. It's really just Wayne Coyne on vocals I think but it's another big name that makes its first ever appearance on my chart this year!
So "Sleep Well Beast" is good... oh wait already said that. "Nobody Else Will Be There" is a stunning opener by The National and it enters at #47, their fifth entry to date.
And lastly it has been three years and a name change since her debut appearance on the chart but Mel Bester a.k.a. E^ST a.k.a. East is back with a second entry. "Life Goes On" would do well to topple Noah and the Whale's effort but it's in at #62.
