The longest running foreign language No.1 song in Australian chart history maintains its pole position this week, as "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee with Justin Bieber hangs onto the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for an eleventh straight week and is now 4x▲Platinum in sales.

"Despacito" becomes now the third longest running No.1 this decade and this century, as the first No.1 of this year in Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" is in the lead at 15 weeks, followed by a two-way tie in second position (for this century) in "Happy" by Pharrell Williams (2014) and Eminem's "Lose Yourself" (2002, the longest No.1 for the first decade of this century), and then comes "Despacito". The current chart-topping song also ties the weeks at No.1 (11 wks) with three other songs, Bryan Adams' "(Everything I Do) I Do it for You" (1991), "Wannabe" by The Spice Girls (1996/7) and "Mull of Kintyre" by Wings (1978, pre-ARIA). As Justin Bieber is still the act with the most weeks at No.1 this decade his tally of weeks only increases his lead (26 weeks from five No.1's), he also moves up the list for 'Most Weeks at No.1: 1940-2017' to equal 21st alongside two 1940's chart-topping acts, band-leader Sammy Kane (8 #1's) and minstrel Al Jolson (2 #1's), and if he stays for one more week he will be outright at 27 weeks, his next target is 28 weeks achieved by Olivia Newton-John (5 #1's) and 30 weeks racked up by Eminem (8 #1's).

Last week Imagine Dragons scored their highest charting single in Australia as "Thunder" climbed to No.4, well this week they outdo their position from last week by climbing two places to land at a new peak of No.2 this week, plus the track is now certified ▲Platinum in sales. Also up two spots to a new chart height of No.3 is the Calvin Harris track "Feels" with Pharrell Williams and Katy Perry, becoming Calvin's sixth Top 3 single, the seventh for Katy, and the fourth for Pharrell. So with two tracks climbing two places, we also have two songs dropping two spots (the 2 to 5 positions from last weeks just swap around basically); Liam Payne's "Strip That Down" and "Wild Thoughts" for DJ Khaled with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller (now ▲Platinum) are down to No.4 and No.5 respectively.

Three songs are on hold within the top 10 this week, with the No.1 spot already covered, the next on-hold-track is at No.6, "Slow Hands" by Niall Horan, whilst Shawn Mendes' "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" is stable at No.9 and newly 2x▲Platinum in sales. Macklemore lands his sixth Top 10 single in Australia (first as a solo act though) as his new song "Glorious" jumps up eight spots to land at No.7, also becoming guest vocalist Skylar Grey's fourth Top 10 appearance too, and that is followed by "Mama" for Jonas Blue and William Singe, down one spot to No.8 this week.

Returning to the charts this week are fifteen older (and one new) Linkin Park single's after the passing of their lead singer Chester Bennington late last week (July 20th). The band's second Top 10 single "In the End" (HP-4, peaked Feb 2002, newly Gold (●)) returns to the chart at No.10 for seventh broken week within the ten. Next up their January 2004 No.10 hit "Numb" returns at No.18 (it spent 13 weeks within the Top 20 between Nov 2003 and late January of 2004). The band's recent "One More Light" album produced the single "Heavy" (HP-33, March 2017) with Kiiara, which is back in at No.39, followed one place lower at No.40 with "What I've Done" (HP-13, peaked upon debut in May 2007) and then two more entries jump back into the Top 50; "Numb / Encore" with Jay-Z (HP-3, Jan 2005) at No.48 and "One Step Closer" (HP-4, March 2001, the band's first entry & Top 10 here) at No.49. In the lower fifty there are returns for "Shadow of the Day" (HP-15, Feb 2008) at No.59, "Somewhere I Belong" (HP-13, April 2003) at No.62, "Leave Out All the Rest" (HP-24, Aug 2008) at No.68, "Crawling (HP-33, June 2001) at No.70, "Breaking the Habit" (HP-23, July 2004) at No.71, "Bleed it Out" (HP-24, Sept & Oct 2007) at No.73, and then further down are "Faint" (HP-25, July 2003) at No.87, "New Divide" (HP-3, July 2009) at No.90 and finally "Papercut" (HP-87, Sept 2001) at No.91.

* Ed Sheeran is down nine to No.69 with his "Perfect" song, whilst "Happier" is down ten to No.78, but he loses the crown for 'Longest Charted within the Top 100' (but not overall longest charted) as "Thinking Out Loud" leaves the Top 100 after 136 weeks.
* Julia Michaels drops fifteen places to No.76 with her track "Isssues".
* James Arthur's two Top 100 entries this week both drop, his appearance on the Rudimental track "Sun Comes Up" moving down eight to No.72 and his former No.1 "Say You Won't Let Go" dropping eleven places to No.77.

* #26 - Back to You by Louis Tomlinson featuring Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals is the second chart entry for the former One Direction member, who hit No.20 on the Steve Aoki track "Just Hold on" back at the start of the year.

* #85 - One More Light by Linkin Park becomes the sixteenth Top 100 entry this week for Linkin Park and is the title track from their mid-May released seventh album which is back up to No.4 this week after the passing of the bands lead-singer (see above for all of the other returning tracks).

* #97 - Regular Touch by Vera Blue is the third track released from her second album "Perennial" which debuts in the Top 10 this week, and follows on from previous entries "Private" (HP-84) and "Mended" (HP-96), with this becoming her seventh Vera Blue track and fourteenth overall as an artist (the first seven were under her Voice chart career as Celia Pavey.

The fifth studio album for US chanteuse Lana Del Rey becomes her fourth consecutive No.1 album in Australia, as "Lust for Life" enters the ARIA Albums Chart in the top position this week.

"Lust for Life" becomes the 804th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2014) and the 655th for ARIA (1983 to 2017), plus the 448th to debut in the No.1 position and the 26th for the Interscope record label. All of the previous Lana albums have debut in the top spot but have only stayed for a single week, so will this new set do the same, as previously she went to No.1 with "Born to Die" (13-Feb-2012), "Ultraviolence" (23-June-2014) and "Honeymoon" (28-Sept-2015).

On the list for 'Most Weeks at No.1: 2010's; Albums' she moves from seventeenth to now eleventh, tying with other acts who have achieved four accumulated weeks at the top this decade like Justin Bieber and Keith Urban (3 #1's each), and then Coldplay, Mumford & Sons and Beyonce (all with two #1's apiece). This is the first time that the word 'Lust' has appeared in a No.1 album title and the eight for a 'Life', with the last one being Vance Joy and "Dream Your Life Away".

The new No.1 album becomes the 281st by an American act (solo, duo or group) to hit No.1 here, and Lana is the first from the USA this year to have a No.1 album, whilst for Female Solo Artists this new chart-topping album becomes the 120th overall, and the third for 2017 after No.1 sets from Lorde (26th June) and Kasey Chambers (30th Jan). Looking at the list for 'Most No.1 Albums: Female; American', Lana is now equal second for the most chart-topping albums alongside the four achieved by Pink (34 weeks at No.1 in total though), whilst leading the pack with eleven No.1 albums is Madonna, whilst now equal third place are Barbra Stresiand, Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift with three No.1's apiece.

The singles chart saw 16 Linkin Park entries this week, whilst the album chart has eleven albums from the group, and the highest of those returning sets is the bands debut album "Hybrid Theory" at its former peak of No.2 (three weeks in February 2002), followed by their seventh studio album which came out only a couple of months ago (mid-May), "One More Light" (HP-3), which leaps back up eighty-three spots to land just behind its former peak and sit at No.4 this week. Two more of the bands album are back within the Top 10 too, as "Meteora" (LP#2, HP-2, 31st March, 2003) at No.5 and their first No.1 album in "Minutes to Midnight" (LP#3, HP-1x1, peaked 28th May, 2007) is back in at No.7, with more to follow further in the report.

Former No.1 "÷ (Divide)" by Ed Sheeran drops to its lowest position of its 21 week chart run, as it falls two spots to No.3 this week after seventeen broken weeks at the top. Last weeks leap into the Top 10 for the "Baby Driver" soundtrack is back down four places to No.9 this week and falling seven spots to No.10 is the second Lorde album "Melodrama". There are two more new entries to the Top 10 this week, with the debut Vera Blue album (and second overall if I include her Celia Pavey album from 2013, "This Music" (HP-14); post The Voice shows), entitled "Perennial" coming in at No.6, and also scoring his first Top 10 album here is rapper Tyler, The Creator with his fourth studio album "Flower Boy" coming in at No.8. His three previous album all charted here, with his third set "Cherry Bomb" (HP-13, April 2015) being his previous best chart effort until this week.

* The Rag'N'Bone Man national tour which concluded during last weeks chart sales week helps to keep his debut album "Human" at No.11 for a second week.
* Not only did the music world lose the Linkin Park lead singer, but local singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu also passed this week, and his three albums return to the chart this week, with his self-titled "Gurrumul" (HP-3, peaked Nov 2008) back in at No.27 and his second set "Rrakala" (HP-3, peaked late April 2011) returns at No.81, whilst his last set "The Gospel Album" (HP-3, August 2015) is back in at No.66.
* Right after Geoffrey's return is the next of the many Linkin Park returns this week, with their Jay-Z duet album "Collision Course" (HP-8, peaked Jan 2005) at No.28, followed by their last studio album "The Hunting Party" (LP#6, HP-3, peaked June 2014) at No.38, "Living Things" (LP#5, HP-2, early July 2012) at No.40, the band's longest running No.1 in "A Thousand Suns" (LP#4, HP-1x4, Sept. 2010) at No.47, their second live album "Road to Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes" (HP-24, peaked Dec 2008, now Gold (●) in sales) at No.59, and finally their remix album "ReAnimation" (HP-16, peaked August 2002, also newly Gold (●)) is back in at No.84.
* Two big tours of the country at the moment see their albums rise and sit back-to-back this week, firstly Little Mix and "Glory Days" is back up six to No.29 and the 25th Anniversary edition and tour for k.d.Lang's "Ingenue" helps it to leap up sixty places and land at No.30 this week.
* Amy Shark performed at the 'Splendour in the Grass' concerts last weekend, and her EP "Night Thinker" is back up thirteen places to No.45, which also benefits other acts who appeared there such as Tash Sultana and her "Notion" (EP) (63 to 60), Catfish & the Bottlemen with "The Ride" (returns at #88) and The Dune Rats' "The Kids Will Know it's Bullshit" (returns at #80).

* With a massive influx of Linkin Park and new entries to the Top 10 this week, we say goodbye to seven former Top 10 albums; "Witness" (HP-2, WI10-6) for Katy Perry (4 to 12), "DAMN." (HP-2, WI10-13) for Kendrick Lamar (7 to 13 and newly Gold (●) in sales), "Evolve" (HP-4, WI10-4) by Imagine Dragons (8 to 14), last weeks highest entry for Meg Mac and "Low Blows" (HP-2, WI10-1, 2 to 15), "Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1" (HP-5, WI10-3) for Calvin Harris (9 to 16), the Jay-Z set "4:44" (HP-3, WI10-2, 6 to 22), and leaving the Top 100 from last weeks debut at No.10 is the "Punk Goes Pop Vol.7" (HP-10, WI10-1) compilation.
* Soundtracks for films dropping this week are "Guardians Vol.2" (16 to 25), "Trolls" (17 to 26), "Guardians Vol.1" (23 to 32), "Suicide Squad" (43 to 52), "Sing" (50 to 58), "Beauty & the Beast" (54 to 75) and "Frozen" (65 to 76).
* Hillsong United with "Wonder" and Stone Sour's "Hydrograd" both fall fifteen places each to No.33 and No.34 respectively.
* Dropping fourteen places is The Weeknd album "Starboy" to No.41.
* Justin Bieber's "Purpose" falls ten places to No.48.
* Bliss N' Eso tumble eighteen places to land at No.50 with their former No.1 set "Off the Grid".
* After a rise last week, the Pete Murray set "Camacho" falls back down twenty places to No.51.
* Drake is down thirteen to No.53 with his mixtape album "More Life", and his album "Views" falls ten to No.87.
* Keith Urban tumbles out of the Top 50, down eighteen places to No.63 with his "Ripcord" album.
* Khalid falls fourteen places to No.65 with his "American Teen" set.
* The 50th Anniversary edition of The Beatles "Sgt. Peppers" tumbles thirfty-seven places this week to land at No.70.
* Zara Larsson is down twelve to No.72 with her "So Good" album, which should rise next week as she is the country on a promo tour at the moment.
* DJ Khaled might have the No.1 song in the country and three songs overall within the Top 15, but his album "Grateful" is down twenty-nine spots to No.73.
* Roy Orbison's "Ultimate Collection" falls fifteen spots to No.77.
* Halsey plummets forty-six spots to No.85 with her second album "hopeless fountain kingdom", and her debut set "Badlands" is down twenty-three places to No.98.
* Oh Wonder might have been at Splendour last weekend, but their new album "Ultralife" descends a massive fifty-five places to No.92 this week.
* Lady Antebellum drops twenty-four places to land at #100 with their "Heart Break" album.

* #1 (LP#5) - Lust for Life by Lana Del Rey
* #6 (LP#2) - Perennial by Vera Blue
* #8 (LP#4) - Flower Boy by Tyler, The Creator

* #44 (EP#6) - Add Violence (EP) by Nine Inch Nails is the first of the six EP's Trent Reznor (aka N"N's) has released to chart in Australia, and the five track EP is led by the single "Less Than".

* #49 (BoxS) - Studio Collection 2000-2012 by Linkin Park is a box set of the bands first five studio albums (Hybrid Theory to Living Things {but not Collision Course"}) including their ReAnimation remix album too.
