IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 22/1/18 Edition No.428 Songs retire at 75 weeks
So I'm finally back home to do charts, albeit still a challenge because of EOY commitments. (News on that front - my broadcast will be Friday 9 February). We have a new #1 too, with Protomartyr knocked off the top after just 3 weeks with "Half Sister". Victorian producer JANEVA delivers the first Australian #1 of the year with "Humble Beginnings".
"Rollinem 7's" is legitimately my seventh favourite song of the week - that's not a misprint. N.E.R.D & André 3000 come up with one of the album's best cuts, coming in as N.E.R.D's 4th entry to date, and 3000's 3rd entry.
Makthaverskan managed a decent hit in "Eden" on the chart in 2017, and although I knew and liked "In My Dreams", it was just so similar that I couldn't bring myself to chart them both at once. But now with a bit of space, I can hopefully give this a deserving run, with the Swedes coming in at #52.
And this song is less than a week away from becoming a whole lot more talked about. Gang Of Youths now have 6 entries spanning across the past 5 years, and come in at #61 with "Let Me Down Easy".
Another Scandinavian artist entering the chart this week, this time with Norwegian duo Smerz, who come in for their first entry with the spooky "Have fun" at #81.
I don't know why I was surprised to learn that Wild Honey hail from Sydney, but I guess there's nothing overly specific about this. It's breezy indie rock done well which really is irish bait. They come in at #84 with "In Your Head".
I've been giving this a real chance over the summer and finally Angel Olsen has something to back up her 2016 "MY WOMAN" record, besides the feature she had on an Hamilton Leithauser track last year. Her 4th entry "Fly On Your Wall" comes in at #92.
And lastly, as I continue to revisit 2017 I was shocked to not get more out of Fleet Foxes in the year. "If You Need To, Keep Time On Me" is quite lovely though and it comes in at #96, the band's 5th entry to date.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 29/1/18 Edition No.429 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I must say that as I am busy af I will be speeding through these this week...
Getting some surprisingly prolonged chart success are Everything Everything, who come in with their fourth entry from their latest album. "Night Of The Long Knives" comes in at #23.
There was this big countdown thingy the other day so 4 of today's 8 entries are relevant to that lol. The first of which comes from Queensland outfit Ball Park Music whose first entry from eight years ago "Sea Strangers (I Don't Really Know You)" is still their highest peaking (#3) entry to date. Could "Exactly How You Are" change that? Their ninth entry to date comes in at #29.
Quite probably the youngest artist to ever make my chart, Billie Ellish debuts at #33 with her H100 smash "bellyache".
Among all the chaos there is a Franz Ferdinand album coming out soon! Their second single from it "Feel the Love Go" comes in at #52.
One of Saturday's biggest surprises was Sydney band Ocean Alley and the excellent "The Comedown". The band's first ever entry comes in at #60.
Just the second ever artist to chart from the Northern Territory! Following in Jessica Mauboy's footsteps is Arnhem Land's Baker Boy, who enters at #65 with the very fun "Marryuna".
A band that has enjoyed very mild success on my chart. WA band Tired Lion follow up #96-peaker "I Don't Think You Like Me" and #84-peaker "Agoraphobia" with the powerful rocker "Japan" at #79.
Three entries now for What So Not as well, and the first ever entry for ex-Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns on the chart! "Be Ok Again" is a banger and it bangs in at #81.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 5/2/18 Edition No.430 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Shameless plug for my EOY this Friday night 5pm!
"Humble Beginnings" has now spent as much time as "HUMBLE." at #1 on my chart with three uninterrupted weeks. Pressure rises from N.E.R.D who move to #2 with "Rollinem 7's", whilst Tusky get a new peak into the top 5 for the first time with their long-titled track at #5.
With two previous entries to their name, BROCKHAMPTON manage their top 20 hit with "HOTTIE" at #12.
Now for some actual 2018 music (besides Franz last week), we have the new Drake track "God's Plan" at #44.
And the first 2018 song I heard, the collaboration "All the Stars" by Kendrick Lamar and SZA coming in at #54. Of course this was going to be the way SZA would make her first appearance on this chart

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 19/2/18 Edition No.432 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Five weeks for JANEVA is the equal-second most for any song by a Victorian, equalling Children Collide's "My Eagle" and being just one week behind Midnight Juggernauts' haul of six for "Ballad of the War Machine". She faces tough competition though with Migos debuting at #2 and a number of new tracks making big moves into the top 10.
As mentioned, a song with a great video (though not as great as the videos for "God's Plan" or "King's Dead" incidentally) but with some of Migos' catchiest lines to date. At #2 is the group's fourth entry to date with the excellent "Stir Fry".
While it sounds like a pale imitation of "Starboy" there's plenty about "Pray For Me" that I quite enjoy. The Weeknd (5th entry) and Kendrick Lamar (37th) collaborate on the track from the new Black Panther soundtrack, and it comes in at #45.
Quite an interesting deep cut from the N.E.R.D album debuting this week, somewhat continuing the Pharrell theme. Like a number of its counterparts, "Voilà" has an outro/end section which totally changes up the tempo and beat. The track by N.E.R.D (5th entry), Gucci Mane (3rd) and Wale (2nd) debuts at #51.
And lastly another album track with one King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's latest offering "Gumboot Soup". While it is their vastly inferior ode to sleep, "I'm Sleepin' In" is the band's 16th entry to date which span across 6 different albums, and it comes in at #94 to close out the week.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 26/2/18 Edition No.433 Songs retire at 75 weeks
In a way "Stir Fry" seemed somewhat destined for the #1 spot, with JANEVA losing momentum and seeing "Humble Beginnings" slip to #2. It's Migos' first #1 on the chart, with their previous entries including #7-peaker "Bad and Boujee", #76-peaker "Bon Appétit" and #82-peaker "T-Shirt" (with Offset having also charted through 3 "Without Warning" tracks including #4-peaker "Ghostface Killers"). Jay Rock and team move to #3 with "King's Dead" causing N.E.R.D & Future to move down a spot with "1000".
U.S. Girls is the project led by the prolific Meghan Remy, who has eight releases under her belt in the last ten years. She rounds out the top five with a debut for the delightful "Rosebud", her first ever entry at #5.
Most people who paid any attention to the Australian charts in the late 2000s should be able to pinpoint which of their early hits The Presets were trying to imitate here. However, it is a fresh spin on the idea of a Presets banger, and it's one that I could really see helping them evolve into a new era. "14U+14ME" is the duo's 11th entry to date coming at #12, their third highest peak to date only behind "Ghosts" and "Anywhere".
There's something quite special about eclectic group Superorganism, and with an album on the way later this week their second entry "Everybody Wants To Be Famous" comes in at #17.
I was pleasantly surprised with North Carolina duo Sylvan Esso's new single, with the cleverly titled but annoying to type "PARAD(w/m)E" coming at #27.
Courtney Barnett is in very elite company as being one of three artists I've seen live multiple times (Pearl Jam and The Vasco Era being the other two). Although I did like her debut album, I thought it could be have given much more, which is why I'm quite interested to see what her upcoming album will sound like. For her 9th entry to date, "Nameless, Faceless" comes in at #31.
I've not bothered to check for accuracy but Franz Ferdinand would be one of very few artists - of those that released music from the past decade that I like - who have more EOY entries (50) than chart entries (30). Of course those sort of statistics are equally unsurprising and ridiculous. The 30th is "Finally" from their latest record, and it comes in at #35.
This song definitely falls into the so-delicate-that-it's-hard-to-properly-chart-it-but-it's-so-powerful-I-can't-not category, which was somewhat surprising for the usually rough King Tuff. The project of Kyle Thomas has appeared twice on my chart before and now "The Other" is the 3rd coming at #45.
I don't recall getting into any of her 2015 material but Sarah Blasko is making up considerable ground with her album released last week, scoring an EOY spot and now a second chart entry. Coming at #52 is her 5th entry to date titled "A Shot".
In a very competitive week for debuts, Unknown Mortal Orchestra bring up the rear. My following of this band has been quite scattered over the years but perhaps a new album will get me excited, as they come in with their 4th entry "American Guilt" at #71.

Good to see debuts for Stir Fry, Pray For Me, 14U + 14ME, Everybody Wants To be Famous, PARA(w/m)E, A Shot and For You. Good to see All The Stars has made it as high as #25 too
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 12/3/18 Edition No.435 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It's another good week for Migos, who continue their run with "Stir Fry" now at 3 weeks. Jay Rock and friends move up one spot to #2 finally with "King's Dead", with JANEVA slipping down another spot to #3. U.S. Girls remains steady with "Rosebud" at #4, while Drake makes just his second ever top 5 appearance as main artist (after "Hotline Bling") with "God's Plan" achieving its new peak at #5.
Up first is a mouthful of a title and quite apt given it's basically two songs rolled into one. I'm officially hyped for the new Parquet Courts record with "Almost Had to Start a Fight / In and Out of Patience" coming in at #18, their 7th entry to date.
My chart hasn't yet given this album enough credit but slowly this is changing. Tiny Little Houses now have their 5th entry with "Short Hair" at #27.
New CHVRCHES is proving to be quite interesting, and "Get Out" comes in at #33. It's their 7th entry to date which started nearly in 2013 with "The Mother We Share".
So there's a lot to say about this and hopefully I'll get the chance to at some stage. The three artists are no strangers to this chart, with Ab-Soul (3rd entry), Anderson .Paak (3rd) and James Blake (6th) coming in at #37 with the immaculately produced "Bloody Waters", which comes from the new Black Panther soundtrack if you weren't already aware.
It's been a very long time since a James Blake entry on this chart. He comes in for the 7th time with "If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead" at #49.
Many artists appear to be conspiring to end up with 7 entries at the end of today's chart as now Little Dragon notch up the non-milestone. After "Sweet" finished at number (wait for it) 7 in my 2017 EOY, they are back with a song totally dedicated to my wonderful new Twitter profile picture. Therefore "Sway Daisy" is an amazing song dedicated to the "Without Warning" LP and it comes in at #64.
And because I saw them last Friday night, and also that it left the chart too soon before, Grizzly Bear re-enter with "Mourning Sound". If you include this that's seven entries for the week. Illuminati confirmed

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 19/3/18 Edition No.436 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Offset, Quavo and Takeoff from Atlanta trio Migos are now in elite company, with "Stir Fry" notching up four weeks at #1 with only three rap songs having achieved more weeks at the top ever ("Shitsville" with 7, "Call Me" with 6 and "Otis" with 5). Courtney Barnett improves on her best ever peak with "Nameless, Faceless" zooming up to #2. JANEVA stays solid whilst Jay Rock and U.S. Girls fall despite staying in the top 5.
Now occupying one-fifth of the top 10, the first of 11 debuts for the week is Courtney Barnett with her new song "Need a Little Time". She now has 10 entries in total, which date back to 2014 with #8-peaker "Avant Gardener", which until last week was her highest peaking track.
Second entry for the day is a band that today have their first ever entry despite having released music for over a decade. LA duo No Age come in at #16 with "Send Me", a song that is so easily up my alley.
I quite liked a JPEGMAFIA song I heard a while back but didn't bother listening again after I realised it was a bit old. Luckily I can say the New York rapper otherwise known as Barrington Hendricks has made up for lost time with "Does This Ski Mask Make Me Look Fat?" coming in at #22 for his first ever entry.
There was very little context I needed here. An apologetic and rather frustrated social media post forms the backdrop to the release of this new track by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, who released one of my favourite albums of the decade in 2012 with "Trouble". However, since then Orlando has released little more than a couple of collaborations and one single. But now there is at least a sign that the second record can't be too far away. "Leave A Light On" debuts at #29, his 12th entry to date.
The Voidz have frustrated me to date but finally I have a song that I can really jam to. "All Wordz Are Made Up" comes in at #38, with Julian Casablancas having had 13 previous entries with The Strokes.
It was hearing this on the j's that convinced me that this was a banger. Parquet Courts release the cowbell-heavy "Wide Awake", their 8th entry to date coming at #43.
I knew Jon Hopkins through his productions with Coldplay and Purity Ring, and this latest track didn't take long to capture my attention. "Emerald Rush" is five and a half minutes of tasty ambient electronica coming at #49.
There are a lot of crazy things happening in Jack White's latest track. He has 13 solo tracks to his name that have entered the chart now as well as 8 other contributions (1 feature, 6 The Dead Weather and 1 The White Stripes). "Over and Over and Over" breaks his 16-month absence on the chart coming in at #59.
My XXXTENTACION doesn't extend much beyond "SAD!" despite feeling like I've read much more about him. He debuts at #74 with said sad song.
Ok, so Django Django's latest album is confirmed to me for now as very underwhelming, but this is quite a tasty cut. "Beam Me Up" is the band's 20th entry to date coming in at #80.
Quite an effective strategy to get a quick follow-up chart entry for CHVRCHES, getting The National lead singer Matt Berninger to help out on vocal duties for their latest song. "My Enemy" is the band's 8th entry to date and it's also Matt's 8th having had 7 with The National last year.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 26/3/18 Edition No.437 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Five weeks now for Migos with "Stir Fry" despite strong competition for spots at the high end. Courtney Barnett remains at #2 with "Nameless, Faceless" but also manages a second top 5 entry with "Need a Little Time" at #5. In fact, with Superorganism in also, it's a very female-dominated top 5 and although I don't have the stats on it, probably one of the most ever.
So it does turn out that "In a Poem Unlimited" is very good but I'm still really getting used to it. The second entry for Meghan Remy a.k.a. U.S. Girls is "Incidental Boogie", which comes in at #16.
Five entries now for NAV because he happens to have a new single out. It's the production I really dig on "Freshman List" which comes in at #21.
Migos are another artist now with five entries, debuting at #25 with the addictive "Walk It Talk It". In keeping with the Canadian theme of the today's debuts so far, Drake appears with a killer verse on this track and this helps him to his 15th entry to date.
I had to check if Keith Thornton a.k.a. Kool Keith had snuck in for more than one previous entry before, because he seems to go by many different names! He featured on Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2013 #78-peaker "Buried Alive" and now he is in for his first entry as main artist. "Area 54", also under the Dr. Octagon moniker, is so close to the right number coming in at #51.
I really ended up liking both "Faded" and "Working For It" so maybe now ZHU will have an opportunity at some more instant chart success. Only the latter of those charted here though, so "My Life" is his second entry coming in at #59. I've been known to enjoy Tame Impala on occasion too, and this is their 17th entry.
Approachable Members of Your Local Community is a band worth checking out and that's only after hearing this one a few times. "Semiotic Vision" reminds of many different Aussie bands and it comes in at #67 for their first entry to date.
I promise I'm not neglecting DZ Deathrays and their new record! However this year I'm approaching album tracks a bit differently which may make it harder for them to find a place on the chart so easily. "Like People" is the Queensland outfit's 16th entry so far coming in at #73.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 2/4/18 Edition No.438 Songs retire at 75 weeks
There didn't seem to be much stopping Migos again, who notch up six weeks with "Stir Fry". Courtney Barnett stalls at #2 for the third consecutive week, whilst Superorganism and Parquet Courts help push U.S. Girls down.
A bit slim on entries this week as there wasn't too much that jumped out at me. One song that managed to, however, was a song that has been doing the rounds for a number of weeks already. "Look Alive" by BlocBoy JB and Drake comes in at #14 after really growing on me this past week, with it being the former first entry and the latter's 16th.
I do enjoy the new Tiny Little Houses LP in case you didn't know, and a song that I've played more than I realised "Nowhere, SA" becomes their 6th entry coming in at #43.
And as for the "Black Panther" soundtrack, it was a real mixed bag at first but it is continuing to surprise me. Zacari (2nd entry after last year's "LOVE." with Kendrick Lamar) debuts alongside Babes Wodumo with "Redemption" at #53. It is the 5th entry from the soundtrack, and (although I'm not accounting for featured artists) the South African Wodumo is the second African artist to make the chart.
File this one somewhere between Battles and Animal Collective. The fascinating "Composite" by New York band Palm comes in at #88.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 9/4/18 Edition No.439 Songs retire at 75 weeks
When I first heard "Stir Fry" by Migos, I was compelled to listen to it purely for the simple reason that I wanted to.
The first debut this week comes from a Victorian(!) band who are fantastically titled Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird. "Transient" is their first ever entry and it debuts at #14.
So I have quite the relationship with Beach House's music, having belatedly fallen in love with "Myth" nearly six years ago and really enjoying their output ever since. Such is the way this fandom has transformed over time that this new debut already outpeaks the legendary "Myth". "Dark Spring" is the band's 12th entry and it comes in at #21.
Rae Sremmurd's latest single is credited in a rather puzzling manner, which is why I've chosen to ignore it completely. "Powerglide" is the duo's 3rd entry to date, and it's also Juicy J's 3rd, and the song comes in at #28.
Gengahr are still way behind Mew in the number of entries but this latest single has real potential. "Before Sunrise" is their 2nd to date coming in at #43.
I'm not sure if we all have different favourites from "My Dear Melancholy," but my choice seems to be somewhat controversial. "Hurt You" enters at #47 as The Weeknd's 6th entry, and although I quite like "Pursuit", this is only the first from French producer Gesaffelstein.
Brisbane rapper Carmouflage Rose finished at #205 in my 2017 EOY with "Late Nights" and now his second charting entry has arrived. Will he have more luck come EOY season though? "Wildflowers" enters at #50.
I can't call "Pink Lemonade" a total fluke but it is a surprising return! James Bay comes in for his 3rd entry to date at #57, after #20-peaker "Hold Back The River" and #87-peaker "Let It Go" from three years ago.
It's 2018 and I'm first learning of artists through profile pictures. Lucy Dacus comes in at #65 with "Addictions".
And lastly, I had downloaded this before I heard "Dark Spring", but still felt compelled to judge it on its own merit, so here we have the inferior Beach House debut of the week. "Dive" is now their 13th entry to date coming in at #75.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 16/4/18 Edition No.440 Songs retire at 75 weeks
So we're nearly a quarter into the year and an actual 2018 song has finally made #1. That's right, Migos' reign of dominance is over with Django Django climb to #1 in spectacular fashion with "Beam Me Up". In doing so, they become the first ever artist to achieve #1s from three different albums ("Default" and "Found You" being their predecessors).
I've quite enjoyed Sarah Blasko's new material and perhaps I will find time to give the entire album a listen soon. "Never Let Me Go" comes in at #20, which is her sixth entry to date. It's also the second entry ever titled "Never Let Me Go", of course following Florence and the Machine's epic 2012 #3-peaker.
We've had some interesting returns from some of the bands that graced my chart in its very early days, and here's a band I have been really excited to hear from this year. Hertfordshire's finest Friendly Fires first debuted on the chart in November 2009 with #1 "Kiss of Life", and now, after nearly six years out of the top 100, they come in with their latest single "Love Like Waves" at #30. It is their 20th entry to date.
Drake has not wasted any time in 2018, quickly accumulating another three top 10 hits and he now has his 17th entry on the chart so far. "Nice For What" is proving to be nice for the number pattern emerging from my debuts this week, coming in at #40.
Melody Prochet is in the midst of a triumphant return in 2018 with a new album on the way. Following the #5-peaker "Shirim" a few years ago is "Breathe In, Breathe Out" at #74.
Up next is some instant irishbait with two artists who graced my EOY last year. Portland rapper Aminé and Arizona trio Injury Reserve achieve their third and second entries respectively with the quick "Campfire" at #81.
This one is quite interesting to me as it quite effectively brings back a bit of the more familiar Franz Ferdinand sound in with the new. At #93 is the band's 28th entry to date titled "Paper Cages".

Didn't notice how well Everybody Wants To Be Famous was doing until jinx pointed it out a few weeks ago! I love that it got to #1 for me, #2 for you and #3 for jinx Look Alive, Rosebud Need A Little Time, Get Out, Phantom, Nice For What, 14U+14ME, Lemon, Pray For Me, XO TOUR Llif3, bellyache, Golden To Thrive and Don't Don't Do It! all charting is cool. Good to see respectable runs for All The Stars and Go Bang also.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 23/4/18 Edition No.441 Songs retire at 75 weeks
In familiar fashion, my chart has a bit of a rejig this week and it's BlocBoy JB who ends up on top with his Drake collaboration "Look Alive". It's not bad for his first attempt, and it's Drake's second #1 to date after "Hotline Bling" spent one week on top in 2015. Some moves for Migos, The Voidz and even Sarah Blasko will make the next few weeks very competitive indeed.
As the years have proven, I am always up for something a bit different, and that's really what we have here. With the darkest vocal delivery on a trap banger you'll hear this year, it comes from an Indonesian rapper who, before a couple of name changes, originally got his start on the internet making comedy sketches. Rich Brian comes in at #12 with the prophetic "watch out!".
Swedish songstress Lykke Li dropped one of 2011's more surprising #1s with "Get Some" but sadly has not come close to those heights since then. "deep end" is her 4th entry to date and it comes in at #23.
It's proving to be quite the year for Migos, and before diving into their album finally this week, I came across this solid album cut. "Gang Gang" is their 6th entry coming in at #34.
It has been a sombre week for EDM, simple as that. It's a surprising first entry for Norwegian producer Kygo, with vocals provided by Miguel who now climbs to three entries after 2015 A$AP Rocky hit "Everyday" and his own track in last year's "Sky Walker". At #76 is "Remind Me to Forget".
Reminder how good "In A Poem Unlimited" is; and here is the third entry for U.S. Girls with the soothing "Poem" at #89.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 30/4/18 Edition No.442 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It's two weeks at the top for "Look Alive", and to mark the occasion it's an all-Drake top two.
First debut this week comes from an artist that continues to surprise me with their insanely memorable tunes. Superorganism at #5 for their third entry "Night Time".
Fresh from his latest EP, a 7th entry overall for The Weeknd with "Privilege" at #13.
This is an infectiously catchy rap tune and Rich The Kid has his first entry on the chart as a result. "Plug Walk" at #39.
The record should reflect that my relationship with these two artists has been rocky at times, but this latest single certainly has my attention. Calvin Harris remarkably now has 11 entries on the chart, and this is Dua Lipa's third, with "One Kiss" coming in at #48.
Another artist coming in for their 11th entry in this edition is Courtney Barnett. With plenty of new album hype, she continues her momentum with "City Looks Pretty" at #56.
So I'm clearly not done scouring the ARIA chart for things to chart it seems. This is the third entry to date for J. Cole, who previously debuted on Jay-Z's "A Star Is Born" in 2010 and later in the first chart of last year with "Deja Vu". "ATM" comes in at #64.
Now for a song that annoyingly has exactly the right song title. I have heard this new track from The Vaccines several times on the radio and it has finally beaten me down, with "I Can't Quit" becoming the band's sixth entry at #67. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come, with my interest in them being rather limited in recent years.
An artist that has very quickly accumulated seven entries on the chart now. Yep, it's Migos again, this time with "Top Down on da NAWF" at #72.
I charted Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" at #99 for one week back in 2014 and I'm pretty sure it helped crash the internet (citation needed). Last year she featured on Katy Perry's "Swish Swish" which finished scarily high in my EOY (#189), and now she has a solo entry again! "Barbie Tingz" is more of the same Nicki we know, and it comes in at #94.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 7/5/18 Edition No.443 Songs retire at 75 weeks
This year my #1s have been either entirely male and foreign, or female and Australian, and the trend continues with one of this country's finest songwriters Sarah Blasko achieving her first #1 with "Never Let Me Go".
In a couple of months I'll be seeing Franz Ferdinand and MGMT live, which will be one night full of nostalgia trips. However they have put forward a number of worthy new tracks too, and the latter are in at #40 with "TSLAMP" short for Time Spent Looking At My Phone. It's MGMT's 20th entry on the chart to date.
Five entries now across the detch for Unknown Mortal Orchestra, with the dance-friendly "Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays" at #47.
The state of Georgia has had a decent year on the chart (**coughs** NAWF). Liza Anne is new on the chart with a cut from her third studio album, the lovely "Panic Attack" at #49.
I've not read any mention of A.D.D. baby here but wowee that was what I first thought of. Samsaruh has her third entry with "Gunpowder" at #55.
I was a bit surprised that Father John Misty wasn't the most prolific charter to debut this week, but Tillman now has his 18th. "Just Dumb Enough To Try" comes in at #77.
After 18 entries with Grizzly Bear, co-lead vocalist Daniel Rossen has released some solo material over the years. "Deerslayer" is his new single and it showcases many of the reasons why I love the band. It enters at #87.
Another Daniel debuting this week and sadly it's not Daniel09. Eight years ago Daniel Lee Kendall first made his mark on the chart with #2-peaker "Lost In The Moment". The singer-songwriter's fifth entry "No Longer Time To Pretend" comes in at #90.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 14/5/18 Edition No.444 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A pretty competitive week but few changes are made at the top - Sarah Blasko still #1 with "Never Let Me Go" and Migos & BlocBoy JB switch places inside the top 5.
Sydney's The Lulu Raes are a band I've hadn't properly tried before and I was pleasantly surprised with a track from their debut album. "Things Change" is very dreamy and almost a bit too easily influenced, but nonetheless it debuts at #10.
The second entry for the week is a song that has been fairly popular out of nowhere. It's also the sixth song to be named after a year, following Neon Trees' "1983", Washington's "1997", Sunflower Bean's "2013", Run The Jewels' "2100" and Childish Gambino's "3005". King Princess debuts at #20 with "1950".
It is rare to have the top three entries all by newly charting artists, and here is a band I saw live a couple of weeks back. Aussie band CLEWS come in at #35 with "Museum".
High Tropics are of course from Queensland, and after their Strokesy "You Never Made It Easy" peaked at #48, they've outdone themselves for their second charter. At #40 is their latest single "Wait For You".
The track listing for the upcoming Azealia Banks album looks very interesting, with production from the likes of Kaytranada and Paul Oakenfold and features from Busta Rhymes and Luciana of all people. Her single "Anna Wintour" comes in at #52, her third entry to date.
It is very hard to pin down Poliça outside of the fact they make very diverse and entertaining music, and their latest efforts are no exception. They've released a new album with an orchestral collective from Berlin by the name of "s t a r g a z e" and this cut from it is quite fun. "Marrow" comes in at #73, Poliça's sixth entry to date.
Next up is Dirty Projectors who have come close to charting before but the closest has been through former contributor Amber Coffman who managed to do so through Major Lazer's "Get Free". Apt of course that they come in at #85 with "Break-Thru".
And of course a song that has gained plenty of deserved attention, Childish Gambino for his sixth entry with "This Is America" at #89.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 21/5/18 Edition No.445 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A big week for moody electronica with The Weeknd and James Blake moving into the top 10 but again it's an even better one for Aussie music; The Lulu Raes rocket to #4 with "Things Change" and my favourite song of the week remains "Never Let Me Go".
I picked up on this song and my immediate thoughts really are that it's the best Haim song I've ever heard. Other than that, it's somewhat of a homage to the late great Michael Jackson, and it's an insanely catchy piece of pop. Now, Now debut at #14 with "MJ".
Tahj Chandler a.k.a. Saba may not yet be in my top 3 rappers from Chicago, but the fact that he came up as a recommended artist on lastie earlier this week after I had already downloaded this song counts for something. "LIFE" does mean something to a chart nerd that had not previously charted "LIFE", and it comes in at #24.
Having only just realised this was a cover, I've gone back to listen to the original by Saul Williams and it is excellent. Although the two recordings sound vastly different, The Kills do this justice, in the process of following up their amazing 2016 "Ash & Ice" LP. They have nine entries now as a result of "List of Demands (Reparations)" debuting at #35.
It is now Jay Rock's most prolific year on my chart, not that there was much competition. And of course an uncredited Kendrick Lamar provides some vocals in the background, not that I wasn't sold already. "WIN"... win win win wins itself a spot at #43, Jay Rock's 3rd entry to date.
I have some moderately phascinating history to provide here. Sydney's Phantastic Ferniture had decent success in early 2016 with #8-peaker "Gap Year", and later that year lead singer Julia Jacklin briefly featured with #69-peaker "Leadlight". They have indeed had a gap year of charting though with the band's second entry at #47 titled "Fuckin 'n' Rollin".
I shall be seeing this band at the end of the week and having not known much about them a few weeks ago I quite like their new single. IV League come in at #64 with "Superstar".
Much has been made of the crazy few years that Queensland band WAAX have had. They broke (rather violently) onto the chart a few years back with #6-peaker "I For An Eye", and each of their previous 5 entries have all peaked within the top 30. They really have an uphill battle with "Labrador" entering in at #69, I mean, why would I want to ruin that?
I have been very patient waiting for this and the return of the 2015 EOY-topping FIDLAR is here. They come in with the very dark and energetic "Alcohol" which enters at #74, their seventh entry to date.
A return I was, relatively speaking, less passionate about than the last two artists, but I can't be too picky. Aaron Maine a.k.a. Porches is back with his third entry "Goodbye" at #79.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 28/5/18 Edition No.446 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It's an all-Aussie top 3 which can't be said often! Sarah Blasko makes it 4 weeks at #1 with "Never Let Me Go" ahead of rises for High Tropics and The Lulu Raes, while The Weeknd makes his first ever top 5 appearance with "Hurt You" moving up three places to #5.
First on the agenda this week is a supergroup fronted byThe Drones lead singer Gareth Liddiard that go by the name of Tropical Fuck Storm. "You Let My Tyres Down" comes in at #46.
As one does, I've seen Jeff Rosenstock's name in many different places but particularly so following his recent album release. I was pleased that I quite enjoy "All This Useless Energy" which enters at #56.
Another first timer this week by a familiar name. It's quite sad that "Audacity of Huge" just missed out on making my 2009 EOY, and I would that I find it hard to leave out if I redid the list now. Simian Mobile Disco are in the chart with the lengthy "Hey Sister" coming at #73.
I still don't know what to say about this album, the Arctics have really bowled us a googly outside off stump here. "She Looks Like Fun" happens to be the band's 17th entry, it's in at #80, make of it what you will.
And everyone's favourite Russian dream pop outfit Pinkshinyultrablast have their second ever entry. "Dance AM" is in at #93.

I've been really getting into Never Let Me Go so I'm glad it's now #1. Night Time doing so well is great, and a different peak to me again
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 4/6/18 Edition No.447 Songs retire at 75 weeks
The top 3 remains intact for another week, which is of course great news for Sarah Blasko.
"L'Inconnue" is French for "the unknown" and apparently this lovely Beach House track has been in the works for several years now. It's the Baltimore duo's 14th entry to date coming in at #45.
I will get around to "Virtue" at some stage but for now we have a second entry from The Voidz. "Pyramid of Bones" comes in at #64.
Canberra outfit Moaning Lisa show their inspiration to many female artists in "Carrie (I Want A Girl)", and as a result they join a number of them as artists that have made this chart. This track enters at #84.
People can say it's "ye" all they want, but Dr. Octagon's "Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation" is the strangest album I've heard this year. The only thing stranger was hearing some of the album before a gig recently. "Power Of The World (S Curls)" is his third entry to date coming in at #87.
I'm still mentally separating this from their last single but Teleman are back. "Cactus" is a far cry from the heights of "Düsseldorf" but it earns them their 6th entry to date at #96.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 11/6/18 Edition No.448 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A seemingly unbeatable top 3 was beaten... somewhat. Sarah Blasko keeps her seat at the top, amassing six weeks now with "Never Let Me Go" ahead of a new debut from James Blake.
And that debut is "Don't Miss It". I didn't quite embrace it on first listen but could definitely appreciate what it was doing. However, it's fair to say I was far quicker to get to this point than I was with his previous single. James Blake now has 8 entries, with this becoming his equal highest peaker at #2 tied with "The Wilhelm Scream" and "King's Dead".
A first timer this week in Danish band Iceage. Although this track doesn't appear to be a single it's one that has clicked with me pretty quickly. "Hurrah" at #8.
Now for something a bit more well-known. Clean Bandit broke through on the chart with their 2014 hit "Rather Be" but they enlist the help of a first timer - Demi Lovato - to poot poot poot their way to #14 with "Solo".
Hey boy, you wanna know what I think of "DAYTONA", boy? It's better than "ye", boy. Here with Kanye-produced "If You Know You Know", which is Pusha T's fifth entry on the chart. It comes in at #44.
This is an iconic duo I can get behind. Producer Proper Villains and rapper Cakes da Killa both appear to be from New York, and they combine for the financial panther anthem "Don't Make Cents" at #53.
Another duo new to the chart is Perth's Leopard Lake. They come in with "Only One" at #60.
Kanye's in the chart with "Ghost Town" at #72, his 27th entry to date, and now that my chart commentary is done I feel kind of freeeeeeeeeeeeeee

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 18/6/18 Edition No.449 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Admittedly I've been quite busy this week and even now I'm multi-tasking - come on South Korea get that equaliser. James Blake has his first ever #1 with "Don't Miss It" ending Sarah Blasko's run on top.
This is one of many albums I have to get to but for now I'm back into Melody's Echo Chamber's "Breathe In, Breathe Out". It achieves a new peak re-entering at #23.
Not giving their last album a fair enough chance has been somewhat made up by a number of entries as I venture further back with my retrospective EOY project. Post-punk legends Interpol now have their third entry with "The Rover" at #42.
I'm working my way down the track listing with Sarah Blasko's album. "Everybody Wants To Sin" is her seventh entry to date at #57.
We have a second artist to chart from the ACT in three weeks with newbies Young Monks following on from Moaning Lisa. "Supersonic Melodies" is the 17th entry from the territory but this band's first, entering at #63.
The latest Presets album has plenty to choose from but I've gone for "Beethoven", coming at #68.
More "ye" with Kanye coming in again this week, this time it's "Yikes" at #88.
A new Wild Nothing album is on the way and a third entry is this week. "Letting Go" at #96.

I went with "Beethoven" as the first non single to make my chart as well from that new Presets album. "Martini" followed the next week and there's probably room for 1 or 2 more tracks to come.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 25/6/18 Edition No.450 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A mini-milestone with 450 charts clocked up this week. To mini-celebrate, we remarkably have eight debuts inside the top 50, with multiple debuts coming from three different LPs this week. James Blake easily retains #1 with "Don't Miss It", but Sarah Blasko remains steady behind him at #2. Iceage move up 3 spots to #3 with "Hurrah", with a change of the guard happening throughout the top 20.
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. I refuse to believe this is anything other than a carefully crafted scheme at debuting straight into my top 5. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have of course released an album under the pseudonym The Carters, and if you knew that already you will know of the lead single "APESHIT". And this is totally deserving of allcapsness, with two-thirds of Migos in Quavo and Offset providing backing vocals and some of the best verses both Bey and Jay have contributed in years. This song is #4 on the chart; it's Beyoncé's 12th entry on the chart and Jay-Z's 28th.
2018 has been quite successful thus far for Courtney Barnett on this chart. Following three top 30 hits she is straight into the top 20 this time with "Charity", her 12th entry to date coming in at #14.
This is a pretty special moment. In my uni years, I was very much known for overplaying very low charting songs because, hey, I had nothing better to do. Over time a number of these songs have aged rather well, with their peak looking rather unlucky by comparison. One key example was "Ten Times" by Money For Rope which didn't even crack my top 50 despite managing 50+ plays. They then had a less memorable follow-up entry two years later and I had not heard from them since. But I am glad I have spotted this once because it slaps. The Victorian band are finally back with "Earl Grey" at #21, the band's third entry to date.
So I'm yet to hear anything else from the record at time of writing, but I really like this. Nas has started to make an impression on my retro EOY project and now he ends up here as well. "Adam and Eve" debuts at #25, which is Nas' first entry to date but The-Dream's second after his feature on Pusha T's "M.F.T.R." in early 2016.
During the week I felt the urge to tweet something about comparing Josh Tillman to Nick Cave because that's the vibe I'm increasingly getting from his albums. His newest, "God's Favorite Customer", is magnificent and I am equally captivated and stunned by "The Palace". I could say it kind of has a "Pyramid Song" softness to it but with Tillman's delivery it's a totally different feel. It's in at #30.
I didn't really think much of this on first listen but it has really grown on me. Not to ruin it for anyone but surely this is "Pursuit of Happiness" part 2? Kanye West and Kid Cudi of course have this KIDS SEE GHOSTS project and "Reborn" is a relatively popular song from it. It debuts at #34.
Similarly to "Reborn", this was an album track that passed over me somewhat at first but by linking similarities to the artist's previous work it has grown on me. Father John Misty's "Hangout at the Gallows" really sounds like something from "I Love You, Honeybear", and sure that might be Fantano's reason for not enjoying this album as much, but I'm much the opposite. It comes in at #41.
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is only the second ever song with the same artist/album/song title to chart after "Run The Jewels". The hot new band KIDS SEE GHOSTS are back for more with their title track in at #46. After today's action Kanye West is now up to 30 entries, Kid Cudi has 8, and Yasiin Bey (a.k.a. Mos Def) now has his first.
We can also close the book on Father John Misty entries with Tillman's third for the day. "Date Night" is his shortest ever track to chart though that could change in the near future. He now has 21 entries in total with this one coming in at #56.
This song has been pushing for quite some time and now it's finally here. Migos are in at #86 with "White Sand", and for each credited artist it's the 4th entry for Travis Scott, 3rd for Ty Dolla $ign and the 7th for Big Sean.
This is now the equal-most prolific album for Beach House. "Drunk in LA" comes in at #89, their 15th entry to date.
And another Migos entry because why not? I feel like they are partly to blame for a lot of today's chaos anyway so it's only fair that "Supastars" comes in at #96 for their 9th entry to date.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 2/7/18 Edition No.451 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I did hint last week that "APESHIT" is quite special. Well, what do you know, it's so good that it has replaced James Blake at #1. Now the chart's 164th #1 to date, it's Beyoncé's first ever, but it's the third time for Jay-Z, after "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" and "Otis".
Two weeks in a row where the top debut is an all caps party, this time thanks to bülow and her song "SAD AND BORED". It's her first time on the chart but it's a second appearance for LA local DUCKWRTH, who peaked at #45 last year (and even snuck into my top 200 of the year) with "MICHUUL."
I don't want to be "Your (F**king) Dog", which is the main takeaway from Nashville's Sophie Allison a.k.a. Soccer Mommy. Her first entry to date comes in at #45.
GoldLink released a very special song released last year called "Same Clothes As Yesterday", which opened with a magnificent verse from Ciscero. He now has his second entry to date, with "Stay" featuring first timer Devin Tracy. It's also the 4th time the song title has appeared on the chart, with only Rihanna's track peaking higher at #39 in 2013.
A childhood dream will be fulfilled later this month, with Franz Ferdinand and MGMT performing in the same building on the same night. The latter now have another entry to celebrate, with "She Works Out Too Much" at #52 their 21st entry to date.
This clicked very late in the week for me but I'm quite glad it did. Norwegians Highasakite had two big hits in 2016 which sadly made #102 and #105 on my EOY respectively. Perhaps their third entry "Elastic State of Mind" could have more success, and it comes in at #59.
I didn't think too much of this when released as a teaser track but now as part of the album I'm definitely into it. "Disappointing Diamonds Are the Rarest of Them All" is the latest entry for Father John Misty at #70, who now has 22 entries.
I liken this one to Anna Calvi's stunning "Piece By Piece" for a number of reasons, and hopefully I can end up enjoying it even half as much. Half Waif are newbies to the chart and are in at #74 with "Keep It Out".
Just this week I un-fanned A$AP Rocky on this site before fanning Migos. This says a lot about my hip hop listening these days, but also how I'm just not that into Rocky much now. However I will admit that this is a highlight on his latest record. "Praise the Lord (Da Shine)" is in at #84, his 16th entry to date and Skepta's 2nd.
And lastly we have another track from Pusha T's album. "Hard Piano" at #93 is his 6th entry to date and Rick Ross' 2nd.

I love how Everybody Wants To Be Famous peaked at #2 for you and #1 for me and then Night Time peaked at #3 for you and #2 for me Good to see debuts for Carrie (I Want A Girl), Reborn debuted since I last commented and now SAD AND BORED + Elastic State Of Mind this week. I hope Carrie (I Want A Girl) can rebound. Surprised how well PARAD(w/m)E did, better than on my chart Yay deep end being a top 5 hit also.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 9/7/18 Edition No.452 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Another week, another new #1. Chicago rapper Saba jumps two spots from #3 to achieve the feat in his first attempt with "LIFE".
Last week one half of "Same Clothes As Yesterday" made his return to the chart and now it's time for the other half. GoldLink is back with a decent debut for "Got Friends", his 6th entry to date and Miguel's 4th.
Jay Rock's album is on my ever growing list of things to get to but in the meantime I'm quite into "Wow Freestyle". It's a 4th entry for Jay Rock and in the lead-up to what is going to be an amazing Friday night, the 38th for Kendrick Lamar.
I do love The Kills and after giving this one a fair go I had to chart it. "Steppin' Razor" is also a cover, originally by Peter Tosh, and having heard a 10 second preview of it, it's even more distant to the cover than "List of Demands (Reparations)" was. It's The Kills' 10th entry to date in at #46.
Canadian five-piece Yukon Blonde were criminally undercharted six years ago with "Stairway" (#99 for one week) but at least have a deserving debut for their second entry. "Love the Way You Are" is in at #68.
On face value this is quite topical, so let's just take it on face value. The mighty Parquet Courts have their 9th entry in at #82, currently their lowest peak yet, with "Total Football".
And yet another Pusha T entry sees him creep up to 7, this week we have "The Games We Play" one spot lower than last week's entry at #94.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 16/7/18 Edition No.453 Songs retire at 75 weeks
I was ready for another change at #1 given the competition, but Saba holds his own with "LIFE".
The first debut of the week comes from an artist that has recently climbed his way up the charts very slowly. Rich Brian is now in with his second entry, as is Joji, with the smooth "Introvert" at #19.
From what I've heard (the top 50 hits) this is easily one of the more quotable tracks on "Scorpion". Drake has his 18th entry with "Nonstop" at #34.
The only thing better than the band name Approachable Members of Your Local Community is the EP name "If There's Anything You Need, Please Don't Hesitate To Contact Us". From that EP is the funky "(Fuck You) I Love You", their second entry at #42.
I know very little about Amber Mark but she's in at #54 with "Love Me Right".
I recently revisited Tiny Little Houses' album and I'm glad I did, as I've remembered how solid "Everyone Is" is, their 7th entry at #64.
Flight Facilities haven't been overly successful on my chart outside of top 10 hit "Clair de lune" and two lower entries but that luck could soon change. At #67 is their 4th entry "Need You".
Queenslanders Last Dinosaurs recently ended their six-year hiatus on the chart with "Dominos" and they've followed it up in much quicker time. "Eleven" is their 5th entry to date at #71.
It's yet another Tay Keith production to debut this week that I've already made an unfunny tweet about. BlocBoy JB has his second entry to date with "Rover 2.0" at #91, and it's the 3rd for 21 Savage.
The last new entry of the week is an 8th for Little Dragon. "Best Friends" comes in at #93.
also Kendrick was amazing so "LUST." and "DNA." are briefly back ~

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 23/7/18 Edition No.454 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Another week for Saba to outlast Father John Misty, with Courtney Barnett and Rich Brian hot on their tails.
A band that I had at least heard of last year, just not sure if I ever bothered giving any of their album a go. But it's the teaser track from their upcoming second album that has grabbed my attention, with post-punkers IDLES in at #19 with "Danny Nedelko".
Up next is a band I've been interested in for a few years now, and today they debut at their equal highest peak. The Babe Rainbow have their third entry to date at #36 with "Supermoon".
It was interesting to find this out after the fact but Honey Hahs are a London trio of sisters that are incredibly young. "Stop Him" comes in at #49.
Another first timer from Vancouver's Jo Passed, who are in at #58 with "MDM".
I did hear this before Half Waif's "Keep It Out" but remarked how much the vocals actually reminded me of Anna Calvi. It has taken me some time for this to grow but Anna is in for her second entry, with "Don't Beat the Girl Out of My Boy" at #75.
American-based Australian duo Luluc are certainly in the vicinity of The Antlers and if it's done well I am generally intrigued. Luckily it is here, and their first entry to date "Heist" rounds out the debuts this week at #89.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 30/7/18 Edition No.455 Songs retire at 75 weeks
We have a new #1 from an artist that had never graced the chart just a few months ago, originating from a country that had never made the chart before. Rich Brian is at the top of the chart featuring Joji with "Introvert".
There was an amusing tweet I saw during the week talking about unfortunate acronyms, and included in the discussion along with Jimmy Eat World was Australian singer-songwriter Fraser A. Gorman. He makes his first appearance on the chart at #17 with a track from his latest record titled "Walking To Oman's".
The next several debuts were pretty hard to order but I eventually settled for this one on top of them. With a headstart courtesy of the ARIA chart, Drake now has 19 entries thanks to "Don't Matter To Me" featuring Michael Jackson at #38.
In quite the week for the young rapper, Rich Brian has his third entry at #40 with "Attention", a track that comes from a long lineage of songs that vaguely resemble "Mercy". Excluding Migos songs it's the 4th entry for Offset.
Captain Over appears to be the UK's answer to Claptone, in the one similarity that very little information is available about his/her/their background. This track though is a real banger. Featuring former Roll Deep member Trim is the clipping.-esque "Sick" at #43.
With a track that could easily pass as an ARIA hit but then people are too busy hearing what hot new track Ed Sheeran released 1.5 years ago, it's Baauer of "Harlem Shake" fame at #47 with his first entry "3AM". Also collaborating on the track for their first entries are rapper AJ Tracey and singer Jae Stephens.
There are plenty of Victorian bands that sound like this but the result here is hard to ignore. With their first entry is Neighbourhood Youth whose rocker "Stay Safe" comes in at #56.
Metric have had a strange history on my chart, achieving moderate success with 3 entries in 2012 before snagging a massive #1 in 2015 with "The Shade" and an excellent follow-up with "Too Bad, So Sad". At #82 is the band's sixth entry to date titled "Dark Saturday".
And sneaking in with some fuzzy rock is Tanukichan, who two years ago got a surprise #2-peaker with "Radiolove". Her second entry at #99 is titled "Lazy Love".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 6/8/18 Edition No.456 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Two weeks at the top for the second best song ever involving an introvert behind the obvious Luke O'Dell classic.
Queenslanders Bleeding Knees Club are back in the chart after a six-year absence. They briefly charted for a week at #99 with "Nothing To Do" but they have instantly eclipsed that this week. "Kitchen" debuts at #7.
It's also quite an impressive jump for George Miller a.k.a. Joji. Ignoring the current #1, his first entry last year "Will He" spent just two weeks at the lower end of the chart. His third entry to date "Yeah Right" is unlucky not to debut in the top 10 coming in at #11.
Denzel Curry automatically wins the award for the worst stylising of album track names of all time with his latest LP, however judging by this track alone the music is far better. "BLACK BALLOONS l 13LACK 13ALLOONZ" features his and Twelve'len's first entries, and chart darling GoldLink makes it in for the 7th time. I have used the same symbol as that Kendrick album from a couple of years ago so hopefully my table pastes properly
I am really glad this has grown on me. A new band in the chart this week with Californian all-female quartet La Luz in at #25 with "California Finally".
A third entry for The Voidz and this was the track that I initially dismissed. "QYURRYUS" is somehow not the strangest song title from a debut this week in at #32.
English producer Riton has collaborated quite consistently with singer Kah-Lo, and this latest track has got me interested. "Ginger" is the first entry for both artists, coming in at #64.
My time with this track is similar but somewhat more drawn out than "QYURRYUS", after a couple of listens giving up on it and then coming back to it the next week to discover a bit of Stockholm syndrome taking place. Mitski quite randomly had a smash hit in 2016 with "Your Best American Girl" and she is finally back with "Nobody" at #79.
Out of the two albums from the Wyoming sessions I am yet to hear, the Nas LP is a much higher priority than the Teyana Taylor one. Nonetheless he now has just as many charters from it as "ye" and "KIDS SEE GHOSTS", as he has his second entry to date. "everything" features The-Dream and Kanye West and it's in at #85.
Rounding out the entries, another entry from the wonderful U.S. Girls record. Meghan Remy's fourth entry to date "Pearly Gates" sneaks in at #96.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 13/8/18 Edition No.457 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Not since Warpaint's "So Good" 16 months ago has a song reclaimed its spot at #1. In fact, "LIFE" remains just the second 2018 song to achieve 3 or more weeks at #1, and Saba pushes Rich Brian from the top of the chart to protect that fact.
As it turns out, it is a rather huge week for the Chicago rapper. Saba achieves his second entry to date, featuring newbie theMIND, with the album opener "BUSY / SIRENS" at #4.
It continues to be a big year for Father John Misty, with the "God's Favorite Customer" easily being one of my favourite records this year. It has become his most successful album yet in terms of chart entries also, with "Please Don't Die" being his 7th this year, and 23rd overall. It comes in at #10.
A considerable portion of the internet this week have been losing their minds over the new Travis Scott album, for good reason too as it's pretty great. "SICKO MODE" at #15 features uncredited vocals from Drake and Swae Lee and it's a first solo entry for Travis after featuring in 4 different songs previously.
Up next is an Australian act that appear to have only released this one song, although admittedly I haven't looked very hard. murmurmur are at #39 with "Cable Car".
Copy that with Kira actually, although in this case they appear to be a duo from the UK. "If It Makes You Feel Better" is in at #44.
Just missing out on a top 50 debut is a group named Moaning. I had discovered far too late in the week that "Don't Go" was actually released late last year, but nevertheless it didn't stop them debuting at #53.
Not since Franz Ferdinand's "Blood" have I been this hyped for a remix album, understandable since alt-J's "RELAXER" was my favourite LP of 2017. The first of two remixes released thus far is Twin Shadow's version of "In Cold Blood" coming in at #57. Twin Shadow had not made the chart before, but it's the 8th entry for Pusha T and the 14th for alt-J.
Jack River a.k.a. Holly Rankin was a big winner out of the most recent Hottest 100, and now she comes into the chart for the first time with "Limo Song" at #64.
Another first-time Australian entrant this week is Mickey Kojak, with a song title that has also been used this year. "Get Out" is in at #70.
I forgot that it was actually last year when Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever briefly made the chart. Their second entry "Talking Straight" makes their highest peak yet at #74.
Now with two singles under his belt this year, another entry for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. "Don't You Forget About Me" is his 14th entry in at #95.
So far each of Nicki Minaj's entries have failed to break out of the bottom quarter of the chart but she has her fourth entry to fix that. "Bed" comes in at #96, the third entry for the featured Ariana Grande.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 20/8/18 Edition No.458 Songs retire at 75 weeks
2018 has officially upped its game. After last week brought about drastic change in the top 20, this week we see some new movers taking the mantle. Well, not entirely new, as Saba is still #1, just instead with "BUSY / SIRENS". The Voidz are a close #2 with "QYURRYUS", with Denzel Curry not far behind.
It has been a fair while since Max Frost's iconic a-c hit "White Lies" but now he has his second entry. And it's far higher already too, with "Eleven Days" coming in at #14.
Another second-timer with Middle Kids finally breaking their one-hit wonder status on the chart. "Don't Be Hiding" comes in at #25.
The chart isn't doing justice just how much I am enjoying the new Voidz record, but this at least goes some way. One of the most memorable cuts from it, "Permanent High School" is the band's fourth entry in at #28.
This sounds like the most FIFA-video-game-core thing of 2018 so far, so don't be surprised if in a month's time it's on the new soundtrack tbh. Canadian duo Bob Moses are in at #41 with "Back Down".
Two first timers in a row but this time a group I've known about for longer than 5 days. UK collective Jungle are soon to release their second album and this cut is their best yet. "Heavy, California" comes in at #46.
And maybe collateral from all the times I've listened to "watch out!" lately, we have a banger with a similar but less overwhelming energy. Since he smashed 2014/2015 with eight entries, of course including huge hit "Shitsville", Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs has been completely silent on the chart, but now he has returned. At #63 is a cut from his latest mixtape entitled "Weight".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 27/8/18 Edition No.459 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Saba comes out on top again with "BUSY / SIRENS" for the second week at #1, just ahead of The Voidz and a new peak for Father John Misty.
La Luz's latest album really took my attention this past week and it shows in the debuts here. The one with the riff "Mean Dream" is in at #13, and the one with the organ "Cicada" is in at #15. A little lower we also have album closer "Don't Leave Me on the Earth" at #38, making it 4 entries in total for the band.
In amongst it though is another band I've not heard of until very recently. Seaside are apparently Aussie, which is always cool, but even cooler is that "Golden Girl" is their first entry at #34.
The latest Death Grips album is such a buzzkill for me tbh, but I really enjoy this particular cut. Unlike anything I've ever heard from them, "Hahaha" is the experimental rap group's fifth entry to date, in at #44.
From the makers of "Rack City" and "T-Shirt" comes this incredibly nuanced baroque pop ballad with a wicked harp solo. In all seriousness though, "Rack City" was a song that perhaps was just a less refined idea compared to many of the Migos songs that have populated my chart in recent months. Tyga is in the chart for the first time with "Taste" at #51, and not including Migos songs it's the 5th for Offset.
Courtney Barnett has cracked the top 5 with each of her previous 4 entries this year, so it's fair to say there's a lot for "Sunday Roast" to live up to. Her 13th entry to date is in at #62.
It's nearly 8 years to the day that Ball Park Music first graced my chart and next week I get to see them live for the first time. "Hands Off My Body" is their 10th entry to date at #68.
And since it's been a very long time since we've heard from these guys (where have they been?!??), Migos have their 10th entry to date at #74 with "Narcos".
In a matter of weeks Ariana Grande's chart entries have doubled in quantity, with 4th entry to date "God is a woman" in at #84.
Now for another alt-J remix track. The Alchemist and Trooko team up for "Deadcrush" which features some killer flow from Danny Brown, and it's in at #88.
I was unsure if anything from George Ezra's latest record would get close to the chart but here is his third entry so far. "Shotgun" is in at #90.
its perhaps unfortunate that billie eilish was merely places away from making my eoy last year but she certainly has a chance to improve on that this year and this week you should see me in a crown is in at number 93 yay

Deadcrush (ft. Danny Brown) [Alchemist x Trooko version]
So long since I last commented Great to see Love Me Right, Ginger, Nobody, Heavy, California, God is a woman and you should see me in a crown debut since I last commented. Hopefully Heavy, California can continue its rise in future charts.
IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 3/9/18 Edition No.460 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A third week at #1 for Saba with "BUSY / SIRENS", and poor The Voidz remain stuck at #2 with "QYURRYUS". La Luz achieve a new peak of #3 with "California Finally" continuing its gradual climb.
This week is prolific with album tracks debuting, as there has been no shortage of solid albums for me to spin in recent weeks. The first debut is the 5th entry from The Voidz, with the six-piece coming in at #25 with "Pink Ocean". I hope that Ball Park Music have some H100 success this year but I'm guessing I won't need to hope very hard. "The Perfect Life Does Not Exist" is a solid cut in at #27.
It has taken La Luz just 5 weeks to amass 5 entries, without looking this would definitely be a 2018 record. And with the other 4 all within the top 15 at the moment, "My Golden One" debuts at just #36 but clearly has the potential to join its counterparts.
The album track preceding this was a decent chart hit earlier in 2018, with the relevance being that said track declared at the end that the next song is "Freebird II". It becomes their 10th entry to date in at #43.
Chart veterans Deep Sea Arcade have a new track which is always exciting, and hopefully a possible LP is on the way to follow up 2012's "Outlands". In at #50 is the band's 18th entry to date "Outlaw".
A group with more recent success on the chart is of course BROCKHAMPTON, with anticipation of their new LP coming soon. "1998 TRUMAN" is in at #67, their lowest peak of their 5 entries so far.
A second Ball Park Music entry for the day which brings them up to 12 in total. Judging on the song title I expected this would be far more raucous like much of their early work, but nonetheless it's definitely a "Good Mood" highlight". At #72 it's "I Am a Dog".
I've finally recalled the difference between this and "Wolfie" so that's sufficient for me to give this an entry. Golden Features has made the chart just once before, with 2015 #74-peaker "No One", and this time he enlists the help of singer Rromarin for "Woodcut", which enters at #81.
I was rather surprised when I learnt that Genesis Owusu hails from Canberra, as it hasn't exactly been a hotbed for chart entries, let alone in hip hop. Nonetheless, we've heard from Vallis Alps, Blanke, Moaning Lisa and Young Monks this year, and now Genesis is in at #95 with "awomen amen".
Rapper Kwasi and producer HFNR both hail from Melbourne, and have collaborated on at least a few tracks so far. They call upon the help of Allday and Gracelands for their new release "Aura Glow" which is in at #98. Only Allday has made the chart before, with the mono mono mono classic several years back.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 10/9/18 Edition No.461 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Four weeks now for Saba who continues to outlast an excellent field. Admittedly I need to get onto both the Denzel Curry and Honey Hahs LPs, but now the top 5 is made up from 5 of my favourite albums thus far this year.
Last week I saw Ball Park Music live and they opened with "The End Times", and it was just wonderful. I wasn't as keen on it at the start of the year but it becomes their 13th entry to date at #19.
I had to think about what cut to chart next from the Travis Scott LP because there are many decent choices. I've settled on "HOUSTONFORNICATION" which is his 6th entry to date, in at #26.
I can barely remember what Thom Yorke's last album sounded like, probably should revisit it when I have time. His third entry (not including Radiohead songs) "Suspirium" comes in at #33.
Quite the surprise that Santigold makes the chart for just the second time today, following up her feature on A$AP Rocky's 2014 banger "Hell". I have enjoyed the odd track from her in the past and "Run the Road" comes in at #39.
English punk rockers IDLES have enjoyed a rebound with "Danny Nedelko" this week and at the same time I've discovered that this next track is similarly solid. "Great" is their second entry to date in at #44.
I've gone back on my word! It was always a chance with Loud Luxury's "Body" which has been simmering for a while. Sure it's old, but I couldn't leave it out and it's in at #53.
This next Voidz track is a massive clash of ideas that just shouldn't work. A strange lo-fi pseudo-"Idioteque" beat that envelopes a Strokes-esque surf rock riff makes "Wink" very memorable indeed. 2018 is going very well for them with this entry at #58 being their 6th.
So there's a lot that can be said, but for now I'll just say that it's here. 6ix9ine comes in at #63 with "FEFE", his & Murda Beatz's first entry, but Nicki Minaj's 5th.
Of course there had to be a song to ruin Saba's perfect record of number one hits, but then again it could be another chance to extend it. "PROM / KING" is his third entry in at #66.
Another artist that has made #1 is Plague Vendor. They released one of 2014's most unique records fronted by the #1 hit "Black Sap Scriptures". After a couple of low-key entries two years ago, they are back for their 7th entry. At #74 is the energetic "I Only Speak In Friction".
This just sounds so effortless and the result is a melody that is surprisingly soothing. Two years after their #48-peaker "Pain", LVL UP are back in the chart at #77 with "Orchard".
I am definitely here for a new Cloud Nothings album, which apparently will be upon us next month. "The Echo of the World" is the first teaser track from it, their 8th entry to date in at #87.
2011 was when we first heard from Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears on the chart with "Mustang Ranch". Two years later he (sans the Honeybears moniker) snuck into my EOY with "Skulldiggin" but we've had a bit of a gap since then. At #94 it's a song that has nothing to do with King Gizzard & The Lizard or Migos, titled "Culture Vulture".

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 17/9/18 Edition No.462 Songs retire at 75 weeks
It was a lot closer this week but Saba remains at #1.
It's worth noting that in 2 of the previous 3 charts we had a year-record 13 debuts, this week we drop to 9. Kicking off we have Ayo & Teo, who are dancers before they are rappers apparently, and the most I can say is this is definitely a song that can be danced to. Their first entry, and the second for Lil Yachty, is "Ay3" at #11.
I should certainly be listening to more Kurt Vile as this sounds like several The War On Drugs songs blended together, which is no surprise, and is also interesting given the length also reminds me of "Under The Pressure". Vile follows up his 2015 #4-peaker "Pretty Pimpin" with the lovely "Bassackwards" at #25.
I wasn't sure if this was the usual sound for The Money War but it turns out that this is far more Beach Housey than their past tracks. "Hollywood" is the duo's second entry to date at #37.
I don't care how much of a buzzkill I am for not liking the band name Rainbow Kitten Surprise, mainly because this track is pretty hard to not dig. The American band's first entry "Fever Pitch" is in at #43.
Just last year we first heard on the chart from Oh Sees who have had nearly as many band name changes as albums, but the band today has its second entry. A far less garagey effort than #59-peaker "The Static God", the four-piece have already achieved a better peak with "C" coming at #49.
Olympia in the space of a year had three massive hits on my chart between 2015-2016 and now she is back. Her lowest debut position to date, "Star City" is her 4th entry at #68.
I was among the first people to ever hear this live, with San Cisco releasing new single "When I Dream" hours before I saw them play it in their set. They wear their influences on their sleeve even more than usual in this track, but they deliver it with such conviction that it matters very little. The band's 9th entry to date is in at #73.
I think this is the TEEDs I loved back in 2012 & desperately wanted back in 2018 but it is taking its time to grow on me. At #82 is the 15th entry from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, titled "Body Move".
And lastly it's a second entry for Guerilla Toss after an entry last year. It's "Meteorological" cut from their new album at #90.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 24/9/18 Edition No.463 Songs retire at 75 weeks
They only went and bloody did it
What a week for La Luz, their sixth entry comes in at #21 with "Greed Machine".
Aminé hasn't blown me away with every song but he has a pretty good track record so far. Four entries in and "DR. WHOEVER" from his new mixtape is in at #29.
NSW's I Know Leopard came desperately close to charting in late 2014, and it was only rubbed in further when Leopard Lake charted earlier this year instead. This time around they come in with a wonderful 18-second cover of Arcade Fire's "No Cars Go", coming in at #35.
It has been a productive year for singer/producer/internet personality Joji, with the moody pop of his previous hit taken into a similarly interesting direction here. His fourth entry "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" is in at #62.
It was a shame that Tanukichan's return to the chart was so short-lived recently but now she has a third entry. "Natural" is in at #72.
Lastly, Baltimore five-piece Pianos Become The Teeth are in the chart for the first time. "Love On Repeat" at #80.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 1/10/18 Edition No.464 Songs retire at 75 weeks
Some rather erratic movement on the chart this week but the bottom line is that La Luz are still in charge. They again occupy the top two spots due to a large jump for "Mean Dream" behind the incumbent champ "California Finally".
I rarely have re-entries this high but it recently clicked that this track is extremely for me. I forgot to bring it back last week but Gengahr have returned with a new peak of #4 for "Before Sunrise".
La Luz have done very well to have five top 10 hits at this stage, and I'm glad my chart doesn't look as lopsided as it possibly could right now as I absolutely adore this album. "The Creature" is the band's 7th entry to date in at #5.
Next up is a cut from another album I am quite enjoying, this time it's IDLES. "Samaritans" is the band's third entry, in at #17.
Following on from their rather inconsistent third LP, Django Django are back already with a new EP. "Swimming at Night" at #43 is their first entry since #1 hit "Beam Me Up", and it's the band's 21st to date.
Next we have former Unearthed High winner Mosquito Coast, following up their 2016 entry "Let's Be Friends" with a #50 debut for "Skipping Girl".
I first heard the late Charles Bradley's amazing cover of Nirvana's "Stay Away" back in 2013, and it later would find its way up to #14 after reordering my 2011 EOY. Since then, he achieved a chart debut for "Good To Be Back Home" two years ago and today is a second entry on the chart. "I Feel A Change" in at #55 comes from his posthumous album to be released later this year.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 8/10/18 Edition No.465 Songs retire at 75 weeks
A different La Luz song conquers the chart!
...and they have yet another entry. At #19 we have the doo-woppy "Walking Into the Sun".
So after getting over the "Culture II" hangover, I found out that we have a new song from everyone's favourite Atlanta rap group that isn't a duo. I do like the Migos, and "Is You Ready" is from a film I am unlikely to watch and comes in at #33.
A third entry to date now for Bleeding Knees Club, and a similar vibe here has me interested for the album (when I get to it). "No Strings" in at #65.
Lastly a new track from twenty one pilots I quite like, "Jumpsuit" at #93.

IRELANDER'S HOT 100 - Mon 15/10/18 Edition No.466 Songs retire at 75 weeks
"Mean Dream" was quite comfortably my favourite song of the week for the second week in a row, but Gengahr and Denzel Curry each move up a spot to split the other La Luz tracks up.
The first thing you may find about CREO's "Plasticine Mezzanine" is that it gives off very strong Silversun Pickups vibes, in particular "Panic Switch". The chorus is one fantastic singalong, and it helps the Sydney four-piece with their first entry to date in at #15.
Next up is another track from the latest Parquet Courts LP. Even more so than some of their previous hits, "Tenderness" has a very classic rock feel to it and it comes in at #22, their 11th entry to date.
I'm not too sure why Lana Del Rey decided to write a song about the living arrangements of the Central Coast Mariners, but I'm glad she did. Speaking slightly more seriously, it follows La Luz's "The Creature" as another song that remotely reminds me of Chris Isaak. "Mariners Apartment Complex" is her 11th entry to date, following up her #11-peaking "Love" last year.
Jai Wolf made some waves on the chart in 2015 with "Indian Summer" and now a second entry "Lost" is in at #36 almost outpeaking the aforementioned track.
I'm trying my best not to be an overwhelming stan but it's pretty difficult when I love this album so much. Another new entry for La Luz, although it doesn't feel that new since I've heard it so much. "Loose Teeth" is their 9th entry in at #38.
A new entrant to the chart this week is Tia Gostelow. Fresh from her debut album is "Out of Mind" at #41.
Both BADBADNOTGOOD and Little Dragon have had notable history on my chart, and they both impacted last year's EOY top 10 with the former having co-produced Kendrick Lamar's "LUST." which finished at #8 and Little Dragon having come in at #7 with "Sweet". At #55 they enter with the collaborative track "Tried", the former's 7th entry, and the latter's 9th, although as with several other Little Dragon-credited features it appears that it's only the vocals of Yukimi Nagano in action here.
There's a new Quavo album out and one of the singles is titled "L A M B T A L K". It comes in at #66.
Lastly, a collaboration between members of The National and Bon Iver entitled Big Red Machine, who debut at #69 with "I Won't Run From It".
