Billboard Hot 100 news:

Young Thug Is Set To Land His First No. 1 Song Thanks To Camila Cabello
And ‘Havana’

Eddie Gonzalez
Posted 3 days ago

There are never-ending debates over Young Thug. Fans and pundits alike spend days online arguing whether he’s talented or not, whether he’s hip-hop or not or whether he’s even popular or not. Some argue that his meager album sales prove he’s not nearly as relevant as the constant conversation about him suggests he is, while others would argue that Young Thug is the prototypical streaming era star. Well, now Thugger is scratching one huge career milestone off his bucket list and giving his fans some support for their arguments: He’s about to land his first No. 1 song ever.

Yes, the always-reliable Twitter account Chart Data reports that Camila Cabello’s “Havana” will finally top Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart next week after lingering in the Top 5 for months.

The bump to No. 1 after seven weeks at No. 2 will surely be aided by the release of Cabello’s self-titled solo debut album, which is in a battle with the soundtrack for the film The Greatest Showman for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard albums chart next week. It’s been a long time coming for Cabello, who left Fifth Harmony way back in 2016 and has been prepping her solo debut ever since. Now, she can call it a successful one, no matter how much shade her former group continues to throw.

And for Thug, it’s an achievement that even his mentor and Super Slimey cohort Future, who has never topped the Hot 100 as a lead or featured artist, can’t match. Now maybe Thug can get a release date for his true, solo debut album, the long-awaited and oft-delayed HiTunes.

It's quite funny how you can have the biggest name of the music industry right now and a very popular rapper on your single and yet completely flop.

End Game does show that songs can't sell based on names only if people don't like it.

Camila Cabello Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Camila Cabello
Dennis Leupold
1/21/2018 by Keith Caulfield

She's the first woman to bow at No. 1 with a debut full-length album in three years.

Camila Cabello debuts atop the Billboard 200 chart with her first solo effort, Camila, earning 119,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 18, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 65,000 were in traditional album sales. Cabello is the first woman in three years to hit No. 1 with her debut full-length album.

Camila was released on January 12 through SYCO/Epic Records.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Jan. 27-dated chart (where Camila debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Congratulations Camila! Well deserved success!
It really validates her decision to leave Fifth Harmony, gamble paid off

CAMILA CABELLO’s “HAVANA” finally breaks through to #1 on
Billboard Hot 100! The #2 curse is finally broken.

Camila has made US chart history! Today!

She is the first female artist since 2016, to concurrently
Top the Billboard 200 Albums chart and Billboard Hot 100 chart,
at the same time. 😮 OMG this is so exciting!!

camila cabello scores first us number 1 single with 'havana'
What a superstar...

Monday, January 22, 2018 - 17:14

Camilizers. It's happened. Ever since Camila Cabello began releasing singles as a soloist, her success has seemed set in stone. From her Shawn Mendes collaboration 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' to 'Never Be the Same', the superstar has killed it.

And now she's just scored her first US Number 1 single with her breakthrough single 'Havana'.

YES CAMILIZERS. CAMILA CABELLO OFFICIALLY HAS HER VERY OWN NUMBER 1 HIT!

The huge news comes just after Camila matched Lady Gaga's record for most week's spent at Number 2 by a single. Both 'Havana' and 'Bad Romance' spent seven weeks there. However, in topping the chart, 'Havana' has now out-peaked 'Bad Romance'.

We couldn't be happier for the 'OMG' star. After all of her hard work, it is what she deserves.

That's not all though. Camila has also landed a Number 1 on the albums chart with her solo debut Camila. The critically acclaimed record has sold an incredible 119,000 chart copies in the US in its first week, outselling The Greatest Showman soundtrack.

Camila is the first female artist to top both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 since Rihanna.

The 'Kiss It Better' songstress reigned over both charts with ANTi and 'Work' back in 2016.

Massive congrats to Camila on both US Number 1s.

We have no doubt that they will be the first of many.

the stars have aligned at the right time for Camila,
her solo career is off to such a strong start, I think she made the smartest
gamble move, by leaving Fifth Harmony and it’s paid off
Camila has potential to be the next generation Beyonce,
up next should be more singles off the album and a world tour

Does anyone know if Kesha's version of 'this is me' will chart separately or will be combined with the sales of Keala Settles version?
nathief, you might not have noticed that it is listed at #117 this week, so separate version is the answer
Bulion you put 11010 in Divide's digital sales yet it's overall sales are 5420?

edit: You also said that Meant to Be was the #1 individual streamed track instead of #1 individual digital track

Also if ARIA combine God's Plan and Diplomatic Immunity into Scary Hours and put it on the singles chart then I'm gonna throw a chair through a f*cking window
To be honest though, if it takes a dumb loophole like that to knock Perfect off #1, that would be strangely apt
Let the celebrations continue! For Camila Cabello and her Camilizer
fans around the world!!

Camila Cabello Breaks Beyoncé's 15-Year Record For No. 1 Song & Album
January 23, 2018 10:02 AM PST

Camila Cabello has a huge accomplishment in common with Beyoncé!

The 20-year-old "Havana" hitmaker hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart with her fiery hit single – as well as topped the Billboard 200 Albums chart with her debut album.

This feat makes Camila the first artist in 15 years to hold the No. 1 spot on both charts for the first time simultaneously. Queen Bey was previously held this honor in 2003 with her single "Crazy In Love" and album "Dangerously In Love."

"Havana" proved to be a breakout smash for the former Fifth Harmony member. The addictive track has spent 23 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart before hitting No. 1 – including 7 non-consecutive weeks at No. 2.

Camila's debut album as a soloist sold 119,000 copies in its first week of release. She is the first woman in three years to top the chart with a debut album. The last female artist to take the crown was Meghan Trainor with her 2015 release "Title."

Camila adorably took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support after her huge solo success.

"I can't even believe this. This is all because of you and how hard you go for me," she wrote. "I'm speechless but my heartbeat is saying a million words at a time."

Camila will "Never Be The Same" after this!
