And then there was one. 2019 is the final year left. Although it is incomplete I don’t see the point waiting for over 5 months to do it. Voting closes on the 13th of July.
When this thread was first made it was always planned to end in 2019 but the exact month was unclear. It’s only fair that with several months left that 2019 gets as much music to choose from as the other years. Therefore this game will officially be temporarily put on hold.
The voting for 2019 will open up on the 24th of December which will allow exactly one week until the year is finished to get your votes in. Following that will be the decade vote for the 2010s and then after that the grand final round for the Nostalgia Thread Game.
Also, if for some reason I forget to come back to this don’t hesitate to remind me. I’ve been very consistent so far so we’ll see.
So 2019 is the last year left in this game before we get to the final round of the game. As usual vote for anywhere between 1 and 10 tracks from the year you like most. Voting will close on the 1st of January.
My Votes. Lil Nas X - Old Town Road Post Malone - Circles Coldplay - Everyday Life
Not much stuff from me since I haven’t payed much attention to the music scene at all this year.
Since no one else has voted I will allow more time and if there’s still no other votes by the time ARIA releases their EOY Chart I will use their EOY #1 for the year 2019.
ARIA have released their EOY Chart and since there aren’t any other voters I will use that as the winner of 2019 which is Lil Nas X Old Town Road.
Now that 2019 is finally resolved there are only 2 weeks left before this game is finally finished for good. This week is to vote for the best track of the decade. The list of past winners to choose from are listed below. Voting closes on the 16th of January.
Katy Perry Feat Snoop Dogg - California Gurls Gotye Feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe One Republic - Counting Stars Zhu - Faded Calvin Harris - Pray To God Disturbed- Sound Of Silence Lorde - Green Light Fisher - Losin It Lil Nas X - Old Town Road

In the end we had 3 Voters and Icehouse has won The Nostalgia Thread Game with Great Southern Land which is kind of ironic since Australia Day is only 3 days away. Congratulations.
Nearly 4 Years after it began this Thread has now finally finished. A big thanks to everyone who kept the game going for this long through good times and bad. What’s next? Nothing really. The site has plenty of other games so a replacement for this isn’t necessary. Updating this thread every week had become a part of my weekly ritual for so long even when I didn’t use the site for anything else, it will feel weird not to do it for a while. Anyway, while I won’t say I’m retiring from this site you won’t see me here much aside from the odd review every rare occasion now that the game is over. Thanks again to everyone who ever participated in this game, it’s been fun.
