Drake holds for a sixth consecutive week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with his "God's Plan" tune, now equalling his former run at the top in Australia.

Drake spent six broken week at No.1 in 2016 with "One Dance" (9-May to 4th July), the track initially holding for three weeks, then two weeks off, then a further three weeks, whereas his current track has now held for six straight weeks (#1 streamed again, #3 digital) and the song is now the longest running track for this year, beating the five weeks during 2018 (8 wks all up) that Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" achieved. Drake also is outright tenth on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles; 2010's', one week shy of Adele's thirteen weeks.

The entire Top 5 singles are on hold this week, with last weeks No.2 debut for Post Malone and "Psycho" stable, the track dropping from No.1 to No.9 on the digital chart, while there are two more rappers/R&B artists in "All the Stars" for Kendrick Lamar and SZA along with "These Days" by Rudimental with Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen (now ▲Platinum) at No.3 and No.4 respectively, with the returning No.1 digital selling track (and current 'Bachelor in Paradise' promo song) "Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha with Florida Georgia Line at No.5.

The No.1 album returnee Ed Sheeran is currently on a national tour here, and his former year-end No.1 song "Perfect" is back up four places to No.6 and newly certified 7x▲Platinum in sales and it celebrated its one year on the chart and now it's 23rd week within the Top 10 too. Ed Sheeran's current national tour of Australia helps his third album "÷ (Divide)" to regain the top spot on the ARIA Albums chart for a 23rd non-consecutive week as the top selling album here.

This week last year we saw the current No.1 album debut at the top of the charts, and now it has racked up 23 weeks at the top here, holding the position of 9th longest running No.1 album ever in Australia (1965 to 2018).

XXXTENTACION & "Ric Flair Drip" being let onto the ARIA Chart on the same week is actually wild.

50Vance Joy - Lay It On Me
Bulion, Meghan Trainor is American, not Canadian
I've added this week's ARIA Top 100 Singles chart entries to my site.

Hear them all here - http://top100singles.blogspot.com/2017/12/every-aria-top-100-single-in-2018.html
Also yewww go Camp Cope with the top 10 debut.
Stinking Out Loud has now accumulated three whole years in the Top 100.
*extremely jinx voice* not until next week because a year is longer than 52 weeks, and considering that the run goes through a leap year, 157 weeks is closer to 3 years than 156

It's closer to 157 by only 0.0323714286 weeks (to be *almost* exact) haha
Argh at another useless Diamond cert
bryc3, Meghan fixed and also Andrew Swift duet in the LP section amended too.

Damn, Tory Lanez got screwed over by ARIA. Not being biased but I swear 80% of the albums that get screwed over are by rappers
Lowest selling #1 single since January 2007. iTunes has been really shrinking lately.

Thanks to digital sales figures and iTunes pop bars, I've been trying to sort out weekly sales for various positions below the Top 20 (in parenthesis is the average daily figure):

40: 789 (112)
50: 593 (85)
75: 300 (43)

Has anyone else noticed a marked reduction in the use of "feat." in collaborating artists' crediting lately? It seems to be replaced by "&", "+", "x" and even "/" increasingly. I just thought it was an interesting trend. Perhaps it's a subtle indication of a power shift between artists and producers?

I was thinking the same last year when a lot of the dance hits lacked features such as It Ain't Me, Stay, Scared To Be Lonely and Something Just Like This.
I wonder if Spotify is partly responsible for this since giving every artist a lead credit means that the song shows up higher on their artist pages, or if not that, just because they often separate artists with commas.

I also wonder if there's a balance trying to be hit with not having *too* many artists bunched up together. I refuse to believe that "Let Me Go" and "Dirty Sexy Money" aren't conceived at least partially to tap into multiple demographics/fanbases, but they don't list every artist together in one column because that would look cumbersome perhaps.

Either way, it's definitely not a coincidence that after Sam Hunt had a colossal digital hit last year, we're seeing all of these random collaborations between pop & country artists, clearly trying to ensure that both digital & streaming success is buoyant.

I reckon you're spot on about Spotify there Jinxie (excuse the pun).

I suspected it might be a marketing/sales tactic but I had no idea what the reason would be. Giving every artist a lead credit so that the song shows up higher on their artist pages makes total sense.
There might also be the aspect of making the collaborations feel like more of an event or investment, to counter how played out feature credits have gotten in the last decade or so.

We're also seeing the logical extreme since the other week Swae Lee & Slim Jxmmi both released solo tracks that had '(feat. Rae Sremmurd)' in the crediting
