It's a fourth week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for the George Ezra track "Shotgun", plus the song also holds for a second week at the summit in New Zealand.
"Shotgun" is the No.1 digital selling song again this week (#2 on the streaming chart), while the No.1 streamed track again is sitting at No.2 nationally for a seventh broken week at that peak, "Eastside" for Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid, with former No.1 single "Be Alright" for Dean Lewis maintaining a stable Top 3 again this week.
Up one spot to a new peak of No.4 is "Happier" for Marshmello and Bastille, which matches the peak of Marsh's previous highest charted single in "Friends" with Anne-Marie (peaked April of 2018), plus it also equals the highest placing for Bastille too who hit No.4 with "Pompeii" (peaked June 2013 for two weeks). Swapping places with "Happier" is "I Love it" by Lil' Pump and Kanye West, which is down one spot to No.5 while on hold at No.6 is "Promises" for Calvin Harris and Sam Smith.
The week that Dynoro and Gigi D'Agostino lose the top spot in Germany their track "In My Mind" breaks into the Australian Top 10 singles chart by rising six places to a new peak of No.7, while up two spots to a new chart height of No.8 are Loud Luxury with "Body", which is now ▲Platinum in sales. Last week Khalid scored a second single within the current Top 10, and this week "Better" is down one spot to No.9, while falling three spots after re-peaking at No.7 last week, down to No.10 this week is Jonas Blue with "Rise", which is newly certified 2x▲Platinum in sales.
UP: * Bazzi peaked at No.15 five weeks ago with "Beautiful", which this week is back up a couple of places to No.16. * The Chainsmokers jump up six places to a new peak of No.17 with "This Feeling", becoming their first Top 20 hit since "Something Just Like This" with Coldplay debuted at No.2 in mid-March of 2017. * Tom Walker now has his first Top 20 hit in Australia as "Leave a Light on" rises four spots to a new peak of No.20. * The Diplo and Mark Ronson project Silk City who teamed with Dua Lipa on "Electricity" hold at No.22 this week. * After two weeks sitting at No.77 the Rita Ora track "Let You Love Me" leaps up fifty places to land at No.27, becoming her twelfth Top 50 and tenth Top 30 placement here. * Last weeks entry for DJ Snake with Selena Gomez and Cardi B on the song "Taki Taki" jumps up thirteen places to land at No.28. * Kian only managed a one place climb last week with "Waiting", but this week it jumps up seven spots to a new peak of No.31. * At the start of September upon the release of the Eminem album "Kamikaze" one of the twelve debuts was a track titled "Venom" which he had written for the super-hero film of the same name, and now that the film has been released worldwide, the track (not featured on the soundtrack) returns to the Top 100 at it's former entry position of No.37. * The Lauv track that debuted last week at No.61 in "There's No Way" bullets up twenty places to land at No.41. * Also breaking into the Top 50 for the first time are Lukas Graham with "Love Someone" (57 to 46) and "Day Drunk" for Morgan Evans (54 to 48) which will get a boost next week from his just released new album "Things That We Drink to".
DOWN: * The only song leaving the Top 10 this week is "High Hopes" (HP-7, WI10-8) for Panic! At the Disco, which drops down three places to No.12. * DJ Khaled with Justin Bieber drop six spots to No.21 with their collaboration "No Brainer". * Eminem drops down seven places to No.24 with his most recent entry "Killshot", while he is also charting with "Lucky You" (19 to 34) which drops also. * Conrad Sewell falls six spots this week to No.32 with his recent Top 10 entry "Healing Hands". * Ariana Grande drops down eight places to No.35 with her track "Breathin". * Kygo with Imagine Dragons falls nine spots to No.39 with "Born to Be Yours", while the Dragons also move down with "Natural" (39 to 47) and lower down * Jess Glynne just released her second album "Always in Between" on Friday, but this week her song "I'll Be There" is down ten places to No.43. * After rising back up last week to No.34, this week there's a ten place drop to No.44 with "Praise the Lord (Da Shine)" for Rocky A$AP with Skepta. * The Rubens with Sarah move back down nine places to No.45 with "Never Ever". * 6ix9ine drops seven places to No.50 with "Fefe" featuring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz.
NEW ENTRIES: * #11 - Without Me by Halsey is now the highest charted solo entry for the US singer, beating the No.16 peak of "Now or Never" (peaked June 2017), while if the song climbs higher next week it will be her first solo Top 10 single and third Top 10 appearance overall, as she is currently sitting at No.2 on the Benny Blanco track "Eastside".
* #25 - Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper is taken from the debut film for Lady Gaga and debut directorial effort by her co-star Bradley Cooper in "A Star is Born", and like it's former incarnations by Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976 or the Judy Garland and James Mason version in 1954, its showcases a modern singer (at the time) impressing and then falling in love with her mentor. This is the debut entry for Bradley and now the 28th Top 100 appearance for Gaga, who was last on our charts in May of 2017 with "The Cure" (HP-10), with this song jumping to No.1 in Ireland this week.
The lower fifty songs were not delivered by ARIA correctly this week, thus this is only a Top 50 singles chart report, I did wait until before 6pm on Saturday night for the full Top 100 but alas it did not arrive.
--------------------==\/==---------------------- The fifth studio album for the American duo twenty one pilots entitled "Trench" debuts in the top spot of the ARIA Albums Chart this week, becoming their first No.1 album in Australia.
"Trench" becomes the 837th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2018), the 688th for ARIA (1983 to 2018), the 479th to debut at No.1 (1976 to 2018) and the fifth No.1 for the record label Fueled by Ramon, and their second for 2018, as back at the start of July Panic! At the Disco spent a week at the top with "Pray for the Wicked", while this is also the 22nd No.1 album for 2018 and it also entered at No.1 in New Zealand.
The duo of twenty one pilots have now charted three albums here in Australia in "Vessel" (LP#3, HP-51), then their first Top 10 hit "Blurryface" (LP#4, HP-7, issued May 2015, peaked August 2016) and now they land their second Top 10 entry and first No.1 here. This is the first time that the word 'Trench' has appeared in a No.1 album title. The new No.1 album becomes the 295th by an American Act (solo, duo or group) to hit No.1 here and the eighth for the year, and they also become the 153rd American Act to land a No.1 berth in Australia. The last duo to hit No.1 in Australia were local act Busby Marou back in late February of 2017, so twenty one pilots become the 18th Duo to hit the top in Australia, plus they're also the fifth American duo to land a No.1 album after Simon & Garfunkel, The Carpenters, MKTO and The Madden Brothers.
The "Venom" singles' return for Eminem helps to push his album back up two places to No.2, while this is followed by the second and final Top 10 debut for the week, the soundtrack to the new Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper film "A Star is Born", which saw its first singles chart entry this week in "Shallow" at No.25. The previous incarnation of this film in late 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson saw their soundtrack also peak at No.3 (late May 1977) fourteen weeks after initially charting in February of 1977, with this new soundtrack featuring Bradley Cooper (who also directed the film, his first) and Lady Gaga performing 17 tracks of the albums 34 (the other tracks are dialogue or extended versions of songs). This new entry also becomes the seventh Top 10 and sixth Top 3 album for Lady Gaga too and the set debuted at the top in England also.
Current national tourist Cher sees her debut from last week in "Dancing Queen" drop down only two spots this week to No.4, while Ed Sheeran is back up two places to No.5 with "÷ (Divide)" and rebounding three places to No.6 is the Drake set "Scorpion". Last week two albums left the Top 10 for the first time during their long chart runs, and those two albums are back up into the ten this week, with the soundtrack for "The Greatest Showman" up five spots to No.7 (43rd week within the Top 10) and "Beerbongs & Bentleys" for Post Malone up four to No.9 (23rd wk inside Top 10, possibly due to his American Music Award wins this past week). Last weeks returning album to the ten in the Cold Chisel collection "The Best of-All for You" is down three places to No.8 (thanks to its re-packaging) and holding at No.10 for another week is the Ariana Grande set "Sweetener".
UP: * Taylor Swift starts her national tour next Friday the 19th in Perth, and this week she rises back up with her most recent album "Reputation" (16 to 13) and her older entry "1989" (55 to 51), plus she won four AMA's this past week too. * Four weeks ago the Billie Eilish EP "Don't Smile at Me" debuted at No.20, and now this week it is back up seven spots to a new peak of No.18. * Panic! At the Disco bullet back up twenty-seven places to No.22 with "Pray for the Wicked" thanks to their current national tour which finished in Melbourne on Saturday night (13th of October), before moving to New Zealand next week, plus they also return at No.87 with their previous album "Death of a Bachelor". * Eminem's "Curtain Call: The Hits" is back up four places to No.24, with further rising collections being for Maroon 5 (48 to 43), The Eagles (Complete Greatest Hits returns at No.75 thanks to their Sunday Night interview and 2019 tour announcement), Cher (78 to 76 thanks her touring here), Red Hot Chili Peppers (98 to 84), Fleetwood Mac (Very Best of 93 to 91) and Elton John ('Diamonds' returns at #100). * George Ezra climbs again with his second album "Staying at Tamara's" thanks to his current No.1 single, the set is up two places to No.28. * The soundtrack for 'Guardians Vol.1' is back up four places to No.24, with other rising soundtracks being for 'Black Panther' (59 to 56) and last TV weeks screened 'Suicide Squad' (65 to 58). * Post Malone not only returns to the Top 10 with his latest album, but his older entry in "Stoney" jumps back up eleven spots this week to No.33. * Khalid is also back up with older set "American Teen", rising five to No.36. * Further returning albums are two for Ariana Grande in "Dangerous Woman" (#95) and "My Everything" (#99) and the self-titled Dua Lipa album (#97).
DOWN: * All four albums leaving the Top 10 debuted within the ten last week, with last weeks No.1 set for The John Butler Trio and "Home" (HP-1, WI10-1) dropping fourteen spots to No.15, "Tha Carter IV" for Lil' Wayne (HP-6, WI10-1, the new No.1 album in both America and Canada) is down five to No.11, Logic and his album "YSIV" (HP-8, WI10-1) drops down nineteen spots to No.27 and The Living End plummet seventy-six places to No.79 with "Wunderbar" (HP-3, WI10-1). * Vance Joy is down four spots to No.23 with "Nation of Two", while his older entry "Dream Your Life Away" falls ten spots to No.71. * Both Queen collections fall this week in "Greatest Hits" (31 to 37) and "Platinum Collection" (39 to 48), and also dropping best of's were for ABBA (Gold 56 to 57, Gold & More 47 to 64), Crowded House (85 to 94) and Guns N' Roses (91 to 96). * Rod Stewart debuted at No.15 last week with "Blood Red Roses", which this week drops down twenty-nine spots to No.44. * Brockhampton drops down twenty-seven places to No.50 with "Iridescence". * After climbing back up the charts for the past four week the Aled Jones set "One Voice: Believe" falls this week twenty-one spots to No.54. * After her quick visit and performance at the Ute Muster last week, Carrie Underwood this week drops down thirty-nine spots to No.59 with her set "Cry Pretty". * Gang of Youths rebounded last week with "Go Farther in Lightness", which this week falls back down eighteen places to No.61. * Tash Sultana's debut set "Flow State" is down fifteen places to No.65. * The soundtrack for the TV mini-drama "Molly" is back down thirteen spots to No.66, while the "Deadpool 2" soundtrack falls the same amount of chart rungs to No.86, with the 'Moana' set down ten to No.67. * Sigala hold for a second week with their debut set "Brighter Days", dropping down fourteen places to No.77. * Slash plummets thirty-eight places to No.80 with his latest album "Living the Dream". * Keith Urban is down ten places to No.81 with "Graffiti U". * The Hilltop Hoods also drop ten spots to No.89 with "Drinking...Walking...Restrung". * Maroon 5's album "Red Pill Blues" drops down twenty places to No.92 this week.

According to Auspop.com.au, ARIA stuffed up the bottom half of the Top 100 and expects all ARIA reports/websites associated with ARIA to be rectified later tonight.
EDIT: Would like to add that according to the ARIA Australian Artist Singles Chart, Ruel's "Younger" is now *Gold* certified - probably worth adding it to the list of running accreditations... (No certs for "Clark Griswold", "Groceries", "Waiting", or "All Loved Up" yet though unfortunately. ) Last edited:
75% of the chartifacts have been done for now, awaiting the lower fifty singles (last 25%) to finish the report, but what I have written for now is posted.
After completely ignoring Julia Michaels' top 25 Spotify hit "Heaven" early this year, apparently ARIA hate her enough to write her out of Lauv's song too
Can't wait for Marshmello to have 2 #3 hits next year.
Anyone know who at ARIA I should contact in regards to missing credits, incorrect single cover artworks and ARIA certifications not included on EOY Accreds Lists? (It really annoys me that some songs are certified Gold, Platinum or higher, and then aren't included on their respective lists. It also annoys me when featured artists go unaccredited on certain songs - a prime example from recent times is "Body" by Loud Luxury, on which Brando was not credited as the featured artist). ARIA tends to use incorrect single cover artworks (such as using the album artwork instead of the actual single cover) quite often too, so I want to let them know about that sort of thing. I really want ARIA to be aware of these mistakes so they can do what they can to fix them. Last edited:
With regards to high selling songs missing on lists, it's important to remember that there aren't technically miscalculations (rather missed calculations ~), but all the individual EOY charts are purely based on points (sales/streams) accumulated while songs are on certain charts (I think most of them include positions that aren't published). So the problem is cases of songs being missing from certain charts which sometimes isn't instant, or often songs being completely missing from charts which is an even bigger problem which I think stems from lack of attention to detail, especially with regards to streaming success anomalies. It's a sad reality that severe miscounts for tracks like "Jocelyn Flores", "OTW", "Taste", "Flames" etc are going to make for a remarkably inaccurate EOY chart this year. And who knows how many albums are missing streams in their counts.
I think you misinterpreted what I meant when I wrote the above post. I was mainly talking about songs which ARIA have certified but do not include on their accreditation lists. Examples from this year include "What Lovers Do" by Maroon 5, "Homemade Dynamite" by Lorde, Khalid, SZA, & Post Malone, "Friends" by Justin Bieber & BloodPop, "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, & Justin Bieber, and "Getaway Car" by Taylor Swift (2xPlatinum, Platinum, 6xPlatinum, and Platinum, respectively. ARIA have also neglected to list Diamond certs on Album Accreds 2018 for Ed Sheeran's "+ (Plus)" and "÷ (Divide)" There are more which I have made a list of, but I don't have access to at the moment.) Thank you for your above reply anyway Hijinx, it was very helpful + insightful. Last edited:
Ah yes I see. I will note that with very recent certifications, it's not always up to date, they seem to refresh it every month or so. If there are older ones genuinely still missing, then that's definitely worth notifying.

Hey bulion, just thought I'd point out that Khalid's 'Better' (at position number 9) is certified <Gold> too. (Also, 'Ocean' by Martin Garrix feat Khalid was certified Platinum 3-4 weeks ago, so you might want to get rid of that one from the list
