Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hold the top of both charts this week, with their duet "Shallow" atop the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week, plus the song also holds at No.1 in both England (2nd wk) and Ireland (4th wk) and begins in New Zealand (1st wk).
While this is the fourth time in 2018 that the same act and album have held the top of both charts, this is the first time this year that it has been done for a second successive week, the last time a song and its parent album held for two or more weeks was from the 13th of March, 2017 with Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (TW-63) and his third album "÷ (Divide)" (TW-10), which did so for seven broken weeks until the first week of May.
"Shallow" jumps from 14 to No.1 on the streaming sales chart and holds for a third week at the top of the digital chart, while the hold at the national summit also lifts Lady Gaga's tally of weeks at No.1 during this decade to three weeks, placing her equal 26th on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 20101's; Singles' alongside Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and MØ who have all had three weeks at the top from two No.1's this decade. Also this is the first time since last December where a duet has topped the Australian Singles chart, the last one was "Perfect" for Ed Sheeran and Beyonce (from 11th of Dec, 2017) {I didn't include "Psycho" for Post Malone feat Ty Dolla $ign as that was a guest appearance and not a duet).
The entire top four songs are on hold this week, with former No.1 "Shotgun" by George Ezra at No.2 and newly certified 3x▲Platinum in sales, Marshmello and Bastille with "Happier" are stable at No.3 for a third straight week and the No.1 streamed track for the past seven weeks and No.3 this week on that chart is "Eastside" for Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid at No.4. Climbing three spots to a new peak of No.5 and backing herself on the charts is Halsey and her new track "Without Me", while Benny's other featured artist in Khalid is also within the Top 10 again this week with "Better", which is down three places to No.9.
Dean Lewis is down one spot to No.6 with his former chart topping song "Be Alright", while last weeks second highest entry in "Sunflower" by Post Malone with Swae Lee jumps up six spots to land at a new peak of No.7, becoming the second Top 10 for Swae (he was on the French Montana song "Unforgettable" which peaked at No.7 in Sept. of 2017) and the sixth Top 10 placing for Post Malone. Loud Luxury are back up one place to No.8 with "Body" while the Calvin Harris and Sam Smith song "Promises" is down three spots to No.10.
UP: * The entries last week for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the soundtrack to their film 'A Star is Born' all climb this week with "Always Remember us This Way" (18 to 12), "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" (32 to 15) which gives them three songs within the Top 20, "Maybe it's Time" (64 to 58) and "Is That Alright?" (97 to 96), plus there is also a new entry from the album too (see below). * Rebounding this week ten spots to No.24 is the Little Mix and Nicki Minaj track "Woman Like Me" (HP-23). * Five of the six Top 100 entries for Post Malone rise this week, with the aforementioned "Sunflower" jumping into the Top 10 he is also up with "Better Now" (31 to 28), "Rockstar" (65 to 54), "I Fall Apart" (67 to 56) and "Psycho" (78 to 70). * With Charli XCX in the country touring with Taylor Swift at the moment her latest single with Troye Sivan and "1999" jumps up seventeen places this week to a new peak of No.29. * Juice WRLD rises back up four places to No.40 with "Lucid Dreams". * Ava Max breaks into the Top 50 with her first entry "Sweet but Psycho", up sixteen places to a new peak of No.45. * Conrad Sewell sees his new track "Changing" debut in the lower fifty this week, while his former No.7 single "Healing Hands" is back up two spots to No.46 and now 2x▲Platinum in sales. * Shawn Mendes' "Lost in Japan" rebounds eighteen spots to No.57. * After a small climb last week the Sheck Wes track "Mo Bamba" jumps up this week sixteen spots to No.71. * Last weeks debuts for Zara Larsson and "Ruin My Life" rises thirteen places to a new peak of No.72. * With 'The Greatest Showman' soundtrack rising back into the Top 10 thanks to it's forthcoming repackaged edition (out Nov 16th) the sets initial single "This is Me" for Keala Settle is back up seven places to No.89. * The two returning tracks this week are "I Like Me Better" for Lauv at No.99 and the 1976 Queen classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" at No.92 thanks to the just opened Queen biopic of the same name. This is the fifth entry for the original version, having initially debuted in mid January of 1976 and reaching No.1 by the end of March for two weeks, it returned to the chart in mid January of 1992 re-peaking at No.5 by the end of February thanks to two events, being featured in the 'Wayne's World' film and the passing of Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury, while it also returned again twice in 2008 for two single weeks' appearances in August (#93) and November (#96).
DOWN: * Last weeks highest entry for Billie Eilish and "When the Party's Over" (HP-10, WI10-1) is the only Top 10 dropout this week, down one spot to No.11. * The current US (6th wk) and Canadian (returns for 9th wk) No.1 song is "Girls Like You" for Maroon 5 and Cardi B, which here is down four spots to No.20, while she also debuts with a new song and drops down with "I Like it" (58 to 62). * Panic! At the Disco slide down seven spots to No.22 with their first Top 10 single here "High Hopes". * Jonas Blue falls six places to No.25 with "Rise". * Tom Walker is also down six spots to No.30 with his first entry here "Leave a Light on". * With a new entry for XXXT this week his teaming with fellow fallen rapper Lil' Peep and "Falling Down" drops nine spots to No.32, while his stable with "Sad!" (No.52) and drops slightly with "Jocelyn Flores" (76 to 79). * Kian managed a peak of No.28 last week with his first entry "Waiting", which this week drops down five spots to No.33. * Khalid's debut from last week with the title track from his new EP "Suncity" is down four places to No.34, while he also drops with "Ocean" with Martin Garrix (37 to 42, now 2x▲Platinum), "Lovely" with Billie Eilish (stable at No.53), "Love Lies" with Normani (62 to 69, now 4x▲Platinum) and leaves with "Saturday Night" (#84, 1 week on the chart). * Bazzi falls eight spots to No.35 with "Beautiful". * After two weeks at a peak of No.25 the Eminem track "Venom" falls this week eighteen spots to No.43 while he is also down with "Lucky You" (41 to 48) and "Killshot" (45 to 55). * Peking Duk drops nine spots to No.47 with their almost half-year-old (25 weeks) track "Fire/Reprisal". * Drake is down with "In My Feelings" (36 to 39), on the Bad Bunny track "MIA" (40 to 49), on the French Montana song "No Stylist" (69 to 76), "God's Plan" (72 to 77), "Nonstop" (stable at No.80) and "Nice for What" (89 to 93). * The only falling Post Malone track entry this week is on the Tiesto track "Jackie Chan" (42 to 50). * Ariana Grande declines eight places to No.59 with "Breathin" while she is also down with "No Tears Left to Cry" (74 to 83) and leaves with "God is a Woman" (#98). * Ed Sheeran holds the 'Longest Charted Single' crown again with "Shape of You", down three spots to No.66 in its 95th week within the Top 100. * DJ Khaled with Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper drop eleven spots to No.67 with "No Brainer". * A$AP Rocky with Skepta fall thirteen spots to No.68 with "Praise the Lord (Da Shine)". * There's a twenty-two place drop to No.72 for the Jess Glynne song "I'll Be There". * Zedd and Elley Duhe plummet twenty spots to No.74 with "Happy Now". * Ella Mia's "Trip" falls back down twelve spots to No.78 this week. * Dropping sixteen spots to No.87 is the Imagine Dragons song "Natural" . * David Guetta alongside Jason DeRulo and Nicki Minaj with "Goodbye" drops twenty spots to No.90. * Future and Juice WRLD's collaboration in "Fine China" declines thirteen spots from its debut last week to No.98. * The Alesso track "Remedy" with Conor Maynard falls eighteen places to land at the end of the chart at #100.
NEW ENTRIES: * #14 - Arms Around You by XXXTentacion x Lil' Pump, Swae Lee and Maluma is a remixed version of the 2017 "?" track by the fallen rapper XXXTentacion featuring Colombian singer Maluma (the original version had Rio Santana) and was remixed by Skrillex and put together by Lil' Pump who got permission to remix this track from XXXT's mother after his passing.
* #26 - A Million Dreams (from 'The Greatest Showman: Re imagined') by Pink is her version of the song from the soundtrack for 'The Greatest Showman' which has a 'Re imagined' edition due for release on the 16th of November with the soundtracks songs also being covered by Panic! At the Disco, Years & Years with Jess Glynne, Kelly Clarkson, Kesha and Missy Elliott, James Arthur and Anne-Marie, Craig David and Pentatonix. This now becomes the 40th Top 50 and 39th Top 30 entry in Australia for Pink too.
* #61 - Waste it on Me by Steve Aoki feat BTS is the fourth entry here for Steve Aoki who has teamed with three members of the Korean boy band BTS in Jungkook, Jimin and RM to be their first fully English sung song and overall the BTS bands sixth entry, while it's also the second pairing of the two acts who hit No.50 last December with "MIC Drop".
* #65 - Money by Cardi B. is the first new material from the female rapper and is set to come from a forthcoming second studio album, while overall this is her twelfth Top 100 entry in Australia and her fourth within the chart this week.
* #85 - Happy Now by Kygo feat Sandro Cavazza is the thirteenth entry here for the Norwegian DJ and producer and his second in a row NOT featured on his current album "Kids in Love", with that other track being this weeks No.51 song with Imagine Dragons and "Born to Be Yours" (HP-18).
* #91 - Changing by Conrad Sewell becomes the sixth Top 100 entry here for the local singer/songwriter who is sitting within the Top 50 this week with his recent No.7 single "Healing Hands".
* #95 - Look What I Found (from 'A Star is Born') by Lady Gaga joins the five other songs within the Top 100 at the moment from the current No.1 movie and soundtrack "A Star is Born'.
-------------------==\/==------------------ The soundtrack for 'A Star is Born' holds for a second week at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week, plus it's also at No.1 in New Zealand (also 2nd wk), America and Canada (both 3rd wk).
Like the two other soundtracks which held the top spot this year in 'The Greatest Showman' (8 weeks) and 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' (2 weeks) this current soundtrack retains its top spot for another week, while for Lady Gaga it increases her tally on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums (1965 to 2018) to seven weeks, moving her from equal 104th to now equal 90th alongside Michael Crawford and David Bowie who have also had three No.1 albums with a total of seven weeks at the top in Australia, while for this decade's listing Lady Gaga holds at No.8 (her next nearest tally to beat is 9 weeks notched up by One Direction).
We could see the new Queen biopic soundtrack 'Bohemian Rhapsody' overtake 'A Star is Born' next week as the filmed opened around the world on Thursday and Friday, with the soundtrack climbing three places to a new peak of No.2 this week, and if it does go to the top next week it'll be the first time since August of 2001 that a soundtrack takes over the No.1 spot from another soundtrack (if it happens next week I will let you know which soundtracks did it seventeen years ago). The last time Queen was this high on the charts was in mid December of 1981 with their "Greatest Hits" set which is sitting at No.11 this week.
Eminem is back up one spot to No.3 with his "Kamikaze" album, while current national tourist Taylor Swift sees her 51 week old album "Reputation" leap back into the Top 10 for the first time since mid-February, up eight places to land at No.4, while also returning to the Top 10 this week are "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack (13 to 6, 45th week in Top 10) and "Beerbongs & Bentley's" for Post Malone (14 to 9, 25th week in Top 10).
The highest new entry this week is the Gang of Youths first live album "MTV Unplugged (Live in Melbourne)" which debuts at No.5 this week becoming the local acts fourth Top 10 and Top 5 album, while the sixteenth studio album and new UK No.1 album is by Andrea Bocelli entitled "Si" ('yes' in Italian) which here comes in at No.7 to become his seventh Top 10 album in Australia and his first since his last album "Cinema" which also debuted and peaked at No.7 on this week three years ago (2nd of November, 2015). This new album features guest acts such as Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Josh Groban and his song Matteo Bocelli.
Last weeks highest entry at No.2 for Rufus Du Sol and their third album "Solace" drops back down six places to land at No.8 this week, while Ed Sheeran's third set "÷ (Divide)" falls two places to its lowest chart position ever of No.10, but it has stayed within the Top 10 for 87 weeks now, and with a slew of new albums coming next week from acts such as Barbra Streisand, Eric Clapton, Tenacious D, Samantha Jade, The Prodigy and Matt Corby it could get pushed out of the Top 10 for the first time.
UP: * The opening on Thursday here of the Queen biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' sees the bands two collections jump back up this week and both land within the Top 20, with their 1981 "Greatest Hits" up fourteen places to No.11 (its highest chart position since late April of 1992) and "The Platinum Collection" which is up eleven spots to a new peak of No.18, having originally peaked at No.21 back in October of 2003. * Further climbing collections are by Cold Chisel (21 to 19), Pink (52 to 42), INXS (56 to 50), ABBA (Gold 64 to 63, Gold & More is stable at No.86), Crowded House (returns at No.77), The Wiggles (85 to 81), Bon Jovi (returns at No.92 helped by their pending tour and Jon's interview on The Project last Sunday night) and The Foo Fighters hold at #100. * Last week The Kingdom Choir sneaked into the chart at No.92 with their debut album "Stand by Me", which this week charges up seventy-one places to land at a new peak of No.21. * Taylor Swift's current tour not only helps her latest album to return to the Top 10, but her No.1 album from this week in 2014 and "1989" rises back up eight places to No.29 and she returns at No.96 with her "Fearless" set. * George Ezra's "Staying at Tamara's" is back up six places to No.32 this week. * The soundtrack for 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" is back up eight spots to No.37, with its DVD and Blu-Ray release occurring this coming week, so it will probably climb again next week, with further rising soundtracks being for 'Moana' (72 to 69) and Jimmy Barnes' 'Working Class Boy-The Soundtracks' (77 to 73). * A repackaged edition of The Teskey Brothers June 2017 album "Half Mile Harvest" (HP-18) returns at No.48. * The new entry for the live Gang of Youths album helps their last studio album "Go Farther in Lightness" to rise back up eighteen spots to No.55. * Calum Scott just toured the country and his debut set "Only Human" (HP-5) returns this week at No.57. * Also back in at No.58 is the recent No.3 set for The Living End and "Wunderbar". * Pink's new entry to the Top 30 this week also helps her No.1 album from this time last year in "Beautiful Trauma" to rise back up six spots to No.59. * Further returning albums this week are by Parkway Drive with "Reverence" (#91), "Look Up Child" by Lauren Daigle (#94) and "Living the Dream" by Slash (#97).

"Shallow" is #1 on the streaming chart so it looks like it's been fixed! Must have been a good week for album sales because a lot of the streaming inertia albums have taken big hits.

Kamikaze has 3 physical sales, Greatest Showman has 25 (once I use the full figures), but those are the numbers on this weeks sheet, as too the 8 to 11 numbers, so unless ARIA never received the physical sales info from some locations, as they charts weren't originally delivered to me until 2pm on Sat, when I normally get them around 9am on Sat, so there was some initial issue with the charts before delivery to me.
Ariana just broke Drake's record for a non-Christmas daily Spotify peak with 483,555 plays (it's just 40K behind Mariah's record too). I suspect it might not be #1 even if this data were counted but it probably would have been very close.
