---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a third week in Australia (and New Zealand) the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper duet "Shallow" has held on to the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart.

"Shallow" and it's parent soundtrack 'A Star is Born' hold the tops of both the single and album charts for a third week, the last time that a single and its soundtrack held for this long was back in late February of 2015 when '50 Shades of Grey' and its lead single "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding held the tops of both charts for three weeks too. Next week will be the ten year anniversary since Lady Gaga's second and longest running No.1 song "Poker Face" (from 17-Nov, 2008 for 8 weeks), and with a third week at the top for "Shallow" it increases her tally of weeks at No.1 this decade to now four, moving her up to equal 25th on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles; 2010's' alongside Jason DeRulo (3 No.1, 4 weeks in total), while on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles (1940 to 2018) she moves from 74th to now equal 63rd with an overall total of 13 weeks at the summit here, putting her in equal stead with Taylor Swift (5 #1's), Lionel Richie (3 #1's) and Doris Day (2 #1's). And with "Shallow" holding for a third week it's the longest stay at No.1 for a female singer since Camil Cabello and her "Havana" track logged three weeks at the summit from the 20th of November, 2017.

Ariana Grande surprised everyone last week when she dropped a new track from a forthcoming fifth studio album (although her current album 'Sweetener' only came out 12 weeks ago) which is due before Christmas, and the single is also the albums title, coming in at No.2 is "thank u, next" which she sung on Ellen this past week, and the song also enters at No.1 in England and Ireland, plus No.2 in New Zealand this week too. This new entry becomes her ninth Top 10 single in Australia and her fifth Top 3 single, while also her fourth Top 10 single for 2018, plus the song debuts at No.1 on the streaming chart and comes in at No.3 on the digital singles chart.

Ariana's high entry pushes down former No.1 "Shotgun" for George Ezra one spot to No.3, while Halsey and her latest track "Without Me" rise one spot to a new peak of No.4 and it's newly certified Gold (●) in sales, while down two spots each are "Happier" for Marshmello with Bastille and Benny Blanco with Khalid and Halsey on "Eastside" to No.5 and No.6 respectively, while on hold at No.7 is last weeks Top 10 entry "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee. Dean Lewis drops two places to No.8 with his long running Top 10 single "Be Alright" (17 weeks within the Top 10) and down one place to No.9 is Loud Luxury and "Body", while on hold at No.10 are Calvin Harris and Sam Smith with "Promises", which could go back up next week as Sam started his Australian tour late last week (also he went to the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday too).

------------------==\/==-----------------
It's a third week at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart for the soundtrack to the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper film 'A Star is Born'.

And the set is No.1 again in New Zealand (also third week) and holds again in Canada (4th wk), and here is now the second longest running soundtrack for 2018, surpassing the two weeks logged by 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' (late July) and is on it's way to trying to equal 'The Greatest Showman' and its eight weeks at No.1 during January and February. Lady Gaga has now amassed eight weeks at No.1 from her three chart-topping sets and she moves from equal 92nd up to equal 83rd on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums; 1965-2018' alongside Barbra Streisand (8 weeks from 3 albums too).

With a full week of ticket sales for the film 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen the soundtrack for the film holds for a second week at No.2, but is joined within the Top 10 by the bands "Greatest Hits" (11 to 3, last this high on 23-Nov, 1981 when on its second charting week it went from 19 to 4) and for the first time within the Top 10 their "Platinum Collection" (18 to 5) which first charted in late April of 1993, while the band have two more album returning to the chart this week and have seven songs within the Top 100 singles, and this is their first time ever to have three albums within the Top 10 at one time.

The second studio album for local singer/songwriter Matt Corby entitled "Rainbow Valley" is the highest new entry this week at No.4, with his debut album "Telluris" entering at No.1 in March of 2016 and overall this is his fourth entry as he also charted initially with two live albums in 2012 (#19) and 2013 (#48). Taylor Swift continued her national tour here last week and her No.1 album from this time last year in "Reputation" is down two spots to No.6 this week on its one year chart anniversary (52 weeks).

The thirty-sixth studio album for Barbra Streisand entitled "Walls" debuts at No.7 this week which becomes her 17th Top 10 album in Australia since her first in July of 1965 "The Barbra Streisand Album" (HP-6), and her third successive Top 10 album in a row as she hit No.1 with "Partners" (late Sept 2014) and then "Encore: Movie Partners sing Broadway" (early Sept 2016), while this week in 1980 she had her first No.1 album with "Guilty" (6 weeks from 10-Nov, 1980). Eminem's "Kamikaze" album drops back down five places to No.8 this week, while the new US No.1 album in "Si" for Andrea Bocelli is down two places to No.9 here. Last week the first five releases (four studios and one EP) for local act King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard were re-issued and all five sets chart for the first time this week, with their second release "Eyes Like the Sky" (first released February, 2013) coming in at No.10 this week becoming their fifth Top 10 album in Australia.

* With a new track debuting at No.2 this week for Ariana Grande her most recent studio album (which the new track is NOT on) in "Sweetener" is back up a couple of spots to No.21, while she also returns at No.85 with her "Dangerous Woman" set.

DIVIDE IS OUT THE TOP 10
I'm surprised that it would still be out of the top 10 even if not for the King Gizzard re-issues

Also Buble only has the 3rd highest Christmas album, this is a really slow start for him.
Glad to see (my personal favourite K-pop boy band) Exo score their first chart entry here!
Had kinda hoped Dua's new song would stick around in the Top 50 for a bit longer. (It's not often that a K-Pop group like BLACKPINK gets a Top 50 Singles entry (or a Top 100 entry in general, but they did chart with an EP earlier in the year).
RIP 'Jackie Chan' as well (still waiting on a long-overdue Platinum cert for this one)

Hinjinx, in relation to Buble getting a slow start on sales with his Christmas sales, expect sales to rise in a couple of weeks as his new album "<3 (Love)" is released next Friday. It's odd though, his Christmas album is usually in the Top 10 (or at least Top 20) around this time of year (a lack of streams won't be helping him at all).

EDIT: Didn't even realise it said in the chartifacts that his new album will help sales of his Christmas album (like I had said), but there you go. I suppose great minds think alike

Michael Bublé's Christmas hasn't always been the highest Christmas selling album in November. If I remember well, a Christmas album by Dora The Explorer was outselling him at more or less the same time of the year in 2013 lol.

Given it has now sold over a million copies, it will be more and more difficult to find new consumers. I fully expect it to be the top selling Christmas album of the year again in 2018.

Glad to see all the Queen re-entries on the Singles Chart.

In regards to Ed Sheeran, I would't be TOO surprised if ARIA messed up with physical sales, like they did last week for some albums.
Ah, well when I said it's a slow start I wasn't just talking relative to other Christmas albums, but more the fact that it's not in the top 50 yet, when at the same time last year it was top 25. It's also just a curiosity when he's got plenty of press in swing with his new album. It's a curiosity nonetheless.
Well, as I said, the fact that the album has sold well over a million copies now doesn't help either.

Keep in mind that it wasn't even in the Top 100 at the same time of the year in 2012 and 2013 though. I wouldn't rule out a surge in the upcoming weeks.
Request for Ricki-Lee and Guy Sebastian when the top 500 info comes in please.
I’ve noticed that Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody has a highest peak listed as #1 on ARIA this week. Usually they disregard peak positions prior to ARIA.
When the top 500 comes in, can I get Slipknot's position?

Please
Meglos;

No Ricki-Lee this week (even though she promoted it)
Guy Sebastian #110 debut for Before I Go

doom;

Slipknot debuted at #178 with their single "All Out Life".

This new info for this week is in bold
Interesting that Queen's 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' were released as a double A side single in 1977 and spent 18 weeks T50, peaking at #8, then was re-released in 1992 and spent another 2 weeks making it 20 weeks T100. After a 41 year marriage and a horrible divorce thanks to all this digital crap, they re-enter the chart separately this week meaning they now have individual chart runs from here on in. What I'd like to know is why one re-enters at 21 weeks in T100 (as it should be) but the other one re- enters at 19 weeks in T100?? Why are they both not 21 weeks??
The WATC/WWRY re-entry in 1992 was actually a live single with WWRY as the lead A-side this time. ARIA obviously see it as a re-entry and WATC as only a B-side

The live single charted for 2 weeks and they were only added to WWRY
Thanks NateBoi. Interesting.
Hey Bulion, just thought I'd mention that according to last week's Australian Artist Singles Chart, Amy Shark's 'All Loved Up' is now <Gold>, too.
