The Ariana Grande track "7 Rings" retains it hold at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for a fifth straight week, plus the track lands its first sales certification and is newly ▲Platinum in sales.

"7 Rings" is again the No.1 song in America and Canada, plus it returns to the top in both England and Ireland, all locations logging a fourth week at the top (meaning Australia has had it at top for the longest now). The stay at the top for Ariana improves her overall tally of weeks at the No.1 to now twelve weeks in total (from three #1's), and on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles; 2010's' she moves up to outright eleventh, one week behind the 13 weeks at the top notched up by Adele, while on the overall tally board (1940 to 2019) she moves up to equal 70th alongside The Carpenters (3 #'1 for a total of twelve weeks also).

Last week (and still this week) Ariana Grande became the 130th act to occupy the top of both the singles and albums chart (since 1965), and she also became the first SOLO female singer to do so since Adele did it in late November of 2015 with her third album "25" and its lead single "Hello" for two weeks, while the last time it actually occurred was back in late October of 2019 for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper with the soundtrack to "A Star is Born" and it's lead single "Shallow" for three weeks. Ariana also holds down the top two spots in the country with last weeks No.2 debut "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored", which was replaced at the top in the UK and Ireland by her returning "7 Rings" track, but the song is now the new chart-leader in New Zealand, while Ariana is back down to just the two songs within the Top 10 this week.

Leaping from 1x to now 3x▲Platinum in sales is "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee, which is on hold at No.3 this week, while he reclaims his peak of No.4 for a third non-consecutive time for his other current Top 5 song "Wow", which is back up one spot this week and land its first certification, jumping straight up to ▲Platinum in sales (bypassing Gold). Swapping places with "Wow" is the Billie Eilish track "Bury a Friend", which is down one spot to No.5 and after three weeks of sales the song is newly crowned Gold (●) in sales. "Shallow" for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper is stable at No.6 this week, and now 3x▲Platinum, while it logs a seventeenth overall week within the Top 10 to now become Lady Gaga's longest running Top 10 single in Australia, beating the 16 weeks racked up by "Poker Face" in 2008/9 (I expect it will hold within the Top 10 next week as The Academy Awards (The Oscars) are on this weekend in the U.S.A. (screened here on Monday).

Rising back up within the Top 10 is "Sweet but Psycho" for Ava Max, up one to No.7 and the Sam Smith and Normani duet "Dancing with a Stranger" rises two to No.8. Landing his eighth Top 10 single this week is Khalid whose entry from last week "Talk" jumps up fifteen places this week to land at a new peak of No.9, and of the eight top ten songs this is his third solo entry, the other five were as guest vocalist or as a part of a duet, one of those was with Halsey (on "Eastside"), and she is right after Khalid at No.10 with her track "Without Me", which is down one to No.10 and now 4x▲Platinum in sales.

* Dean Lewis keeps hovering within the Top 20 with his new song "7 Minutes" (HP-14), which is up two places this week to No.15, while his older entry "Be Alright" is back up five spots to No.29.
* The Chainsmokers started a festivals tour here this past week, and their collaboration with 5 Seconds of Summer jumps up ten places to a new peak of No.18, becoming the ninth Top 20 for both the duo and also for 5SOS, while the former 5SOS track "Youngblood" is back up six to No.33
* Dominic Fike is also up ten places to a new peak of No.20 with his song "3 Nights".
* The two George Ezra entries within the Top 100 rise this week, with his former No.1 "Shotgun" back up two places to No.21 and now 6x▲Platinum in sales, while his new entry from last week "Hold My Girl" zooms up forty-four places to a new peak of No.55.

* Lukas Graham rise back up eight spots to No.32 with "Love Someone".

---------------------==\/==-------------------------
This week Ariana Grande logs her longest run at No.1 in Australia as her fifth studio album "thank u, next" holds for a second week at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart, plus it's sold enough in the past two weeks to be certified Gold (●) in sales this week.

Ariana's "thank u, next" surpasses her three previous No.1 albums by holding for a second week, her three former chart-topping sets only staying for a single week, and as I mentioned in the singles section this is now the 130th time that a song and album have matched at the top of the Australian charts, overall she is the 25th Female artist to do so since Carly Simon in March of 1973 with "You're So Vain" and her album "No Secrets" (both claiming the tops for 3 weeks).

On the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums: 2010's' Ariana moves from equal eleventh to outright ninth (4 #1's and a total of five weeks), and she matches the five weeks at No.1 this decade by John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John (5 weeks from 2 #1's) and The Hilltop Hoods (5 weeks from 3 #1's), whose tally could go up next week as the issued their new album on Friday called "The Great Expanse". On the overall listing (1965 to 2019) she moves from 134th to equal 116th alongside Cold Chisel (who also have five weeks from four #1 albums). Plus Ariana's new album debuts at No.1 in both America and Canada and retains its top spot in England and New Zealand, becoming the 27th time that all five #1 countries have matched and the first time since 'A Star is Born' soundtrack back in November of 2018.

The DVD and Blu-Ray for the Queen biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was issued this past week, and that helps pull the soundtrack for the film back up one spot to No.2, while the band are also on hold at No.5 with their "Greatest Hits" set and rise back up one spot to No.6 with their second of three best-ofs within the chart, "The Platinum Collection".

The prior week saw the DVD and Blu-ray release of "A Star is Born", which swaps places with No.2 this week and is down one to No.3, and if wins at The Oscars (Academy Awards) on Sunday (in the U.S.A., Monday here in Oz) the album could rise back up or retain it's Top 3 berth next week. After which is the highest new entry of the week, coming in at No.4 is the eighth studio album for local act The Cat Empire called "Stolen Diamonds", becoming the bands ninth charted album (8 studios and 1 live set) plus their sixth Top 10 entry (but their lowest peaked Top 10 entry too) and all of their albums have charted within the Top 15 or higher, the bands last set "Rising With the Sun" hit No.1 for a week (14-March, 2016).

After the two Queen compiles back-to-back at numbers five and six, there is the second of three Top 10 debuts this week, at No.7 is the fourth studio album for U.S. duo Florida Georgia Line called "Can't Say I Ain't Country", which becomes their fourth albums chart entry and their second Top 10 here, matching the debut and peak of their previous album from early September of 2016 "Dig Your Roots". The bands most recent hit "Meant to Be" with Bebe Rexha is featured on the album, which also includes duets with Jason Aldean and Jason Derulo.

The third and final soundtrack within the Top 10 is for 'The Greatest Showman' which drops down two places to No.8, while Eminem's upcoming tour here this week pulls his most recent album called "Kamikaze" back up one spot to No.10 for its twelfth overall week within the ten. While debuting in between those two albums is the first new material since November 2013's self-titled fifth album by Avril Lavigne, her new set coming in at No.9 is called "Head Above Water" and featuring the anthemic track "Dumb Blonde", while this Top 10 debut also means that all six of her albums have landed within the ten.

UP:
* Eminem's upcoming tour also pulls his collection "Curtain Call: The Hits" back up two places to No.17, his returned album from last week "The Eminem Show" jumps up thirty-three spots to No.59 and he re-enters with "Recovery" at No.92.
* George Ezra's second album "Staying at Tamara's" is newly certified Gold (●) and holds at No.18 for another week thanks to his new single "Hold My Girl" jumping 44 places to a new peak of No.55, plus his first album "Wanted on Voyage" again returns to the chart, this time at No.87.
* The third and final Queen best-of charting is their 1991/2 set "Greatest Hits II", which rebounds thirteen places to No.27, while further climbing collections are by Red Hot Chili Peppers (50 to 29 as they start a tour here this week until early March), Maroon 5 (48 to 42, touring now), The Wiggles (70 to 67, new album issued from them on Friday), Foo Fighters (89 to 83) and Bon Jovi (returns at #100).
* Ziggy Alberts' "Laps Around the Sun" rises back up four places to No.33.
* The soundtrack for 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse' is back up four places to No.49 (DVD/BR here is March 27th, overseas occurred this past week), while also back up is 'Black Panther' (67 to 55, Oscar contender), 'Moana' (81 to 75), 'Suicide Squad' (returns at #86) and 'Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again' (returns at #97).
* The second Sam Smith album "The Thrill of it All" returns to the chart at No.70, with further returns by the aforementioned George Ezra, two soundtracks, Eminem, Bon Jovi and the Coldplay "Live in Buenos Aires" back in at No.96.
* Maroon 5's "Red Pill Blues" is up eight spots to No.78 thanks to their current tour here.

DOWN:
* There are four albums leaving the Top 10 this week, two recent and two older, starting with the Billie Eilish set "Don't Smile at Me" (HP-6, WI10-2) down four to No.12, then Ed Sheeran's "÷ (Divide)" (HP-1x27, WI10-96a) falling three places to No.13, Post Malone's "Beerbongs & Bentleys" (HP-1x2, WI10-31a) dropping five spots to No.14 and last weeks highest entry for Sticky Fingers and "Yours to Keep" (HP-4, WI10-1) tumbles down sixteen spots to No.20.
* Leaving the Top 20 for the first time is '"The Greatest Showman: Reimagined", down six spots to No.21, while other falling soundtracks are for 'Guardians Vol.1' (49 to 53) and 'Molly' (59 to 66).
* The three older Ariana Grande albums surged last week thanks to her new No.1 album, but this week they slide back down, with her most album "Sweetener" dropping eleven places to No.25, plus the album earns its first sales certification and leaps straight to ▲Platinum in sales, while also down is "Dangerous Woman" (57 to 72) and "My Everything" (65 to 85).
* Bring Me the Horizon and their No.1 album from four weeks ago "AMO" is this week down fourteen spots to No.31.
* Imagine Dragons' "Origins" drops down seven spots to No.35, but their older set "Evolve" plummets twenty places to land at No.81.
* The second and older Post Malone entry "Stoney" falls down nine places to No.36.
* Dropping thirteen spots to No.38 is Amy Shark's debut set "Love Monster".
* The Cold Chisel 'Best of-All for You" is down eight places to No.39, with other falling collections being by INXS (39 to 44), Elton John (Diamonds 43 to 46, Rocket Man 52 to 63), Pink (42 to 50), Missy Higgins (54 to 61), Phil Collins (45 to 62), Guns N' Roses (58 to 71), Crowded House (69 to 74), Green Day (83 to 88), Fleetwood Mac (Very Best of 64 to 90, GH 75 to 93) and ABBA (Gold & More 88 to 95, Gold 94 to 98).
* Khalid's debut album "American Teen" falls seven spots to No.40, while his EP "Suncity" is down five to No.56.
* Rita Ora's "Phoenix" flies down fourteen places to No.43.
* The self-titled fourth Shawn Mendes album falls down fifteen spots to No.47.
* Ocean Alley might be apart of the festival/summer concerts at the moment, but this week their album "Chiaroscuro" falls down fifteen places to land at No.51.
* Now that her tour is over the Jess Glynne album "Always in Between" falls back down twenty-two spots to No.57.
* The same occurs for Keith Urban, as his post tour crash for "Graffiti U" sees it drop down thirty-four places this week to No.58.
* 21 Savage has a ten place drop to No.65 with his set "I Am > I Was".
* Adele's "25" album is down twelve places this week to No.68.
* Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN." album falls down twelve place also, landing at No.89.
* The Chainsmokers album "Sick Boy" is also a twelve chart-rung drop to No.91, but with the duo touring here at the moment it could/should rise next week.
* The Backstreet Boys album "DNA" drops out of the Top 100 from No.38, the highest dropout of the week, while the Michael Bolton debut from last week leaves from No.60.

FURTHER NEW ENTRIES:
* #4 (LP#8) - Stolen Diamonds by The Cat Empire

* #7 (LP#4) - Can't Say I Ain't Country by Florida Georgia Line

* #9 (LP#6) - Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne

* #11 (LP#3) - Triage by Methyl Ethel is the third studio album and now second charted album for the Perth four-piece, whose second album "Everything is Forgotten" debuted and peaked at No.16 in mid March of 2017, and with this new album coming in at No.11 it is now their highest charted album too.

* #32 (LP#9) - SOS by Millencolin is the ninth studio album for the Swedish punk-rock band and their first in almost four years, plus here it becomes their sixth charted set and as all of their previous five albums debuted within the Top 20, this is now their lowest charted album locally.

* #34 (Mix#3) - So Far Gone (mixtape) by Drake was originally issued in February of 2009 and just got it's first digital release last week, the set featuring the singles "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful" (with guests Lil' Wayne and Trey Songz), while the set also features collaborations with Omarion, Lykke Li, Santigold and Lloyd.

* #45 (LP#1) - Don't Let Go by Dear Seattle is the debut album for the Triple J Unearthed and Sydney alternative rock band who last year supported touring acts like Trophy Eyes and Hockey Dad, with the singles released from this album being "Maybe" and "Daytime TV".

* #60 (GH#14) - KissWorld - The Best of by Kiss is a new collection of twenty classic Kiss tracks for their finale world tour, which will hit Australian shores on November 16th starting in Perth, while this becomes the bands seventh best of to chart locally, their last was "Kiss 40-Decades of Decibels" which hit No.31 in early June of 2014.

Good to see platinum certs for Close To Me, 7 Rings, and Always Remember Us This Way (arguably the second-best song of the A Star Is Born OST).

Good to see new certs for Sweetener and Staying At Tamara's as well (although you'd think the latter would be platinum already, it's been in the ARIA Albums 100 for about 30 weeks); also surprised to see "Thank U, Next" (the album) go gold after only two weeks - it's not often these days that albums sell so many copies, so quickly. I remember it used to be common around about 2015 for top 10 albums to go gold or platinum in their first few weeks.

About time "Sunflower" got an update, no-one was buying into the idea of it only having sold (the equivalent of) 70,000 copies

Happy to see "Hold My Girl" reach a new peak as well.
@theoqsean; Thank U, Next is <G> based on shipping to stores only from the label.
They anticipate it will sell that figure. I agree it will but probably not be until week three or four possibly five.

@NateBoi; thanks for making that distinction. I just assumed what with all the streams that the album would be getting, the label had added all the data up and come out with the equivalent of a Gold certification.
Albums accreditations do include streams.

Basically, albums accreditations = copies shipped + digital sales + streams

@Innocent Eyes, I had realised that album certifications include streams, I just assumed that made up most of the 35,000 units of 'Thank U, Next' "sold" (or the equivalent of 35,000 sales, that is) were from streams.
It surprised me that "Thank U, Next" got a gold certification in two weeks (especially considering she's signed to Universal), hence why I thought most of that would come from streaming. For a brief second, I thought maybe that it might actually have done enough for the gold certification to actually be accurate, as opposed to the alternative.
