Setting new records in Oz and around the world this week is Tones and I with her "Dance Monkey" track, now claiming a record-breaking 16 weeks at No.1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
"Dance Monkey" is now the LONGEST RUNNING No.1 Single in ARIA chart history (1983 to 2019), the LONGEST RUNNING No.1 of the modern rock-era (1955 onwards) and the LONGEST RUNNING No.1 for a Solo Female Artist, and it surpasses the fifteen weeks achieved by Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" in 2017 to become the LONGEST RUNNING No.1 of this decade. Overseas the song for Toni logs a seventh week in the U.K. charts to become their longest running No.1 by a female artist since Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" (No.1 for it's fourth of seven weeks at the this time in 2007), plus it's the longest running No.1 by an Aussie artist since 1978 when Olivia Newton-John appeared on two long running No.1's in the UK in "You're the One That I Want" (9 weeks) and "Summer Nights" (7 weeks) both with John Travolta and from the 'Grease' soundtrack.
The current No.1 here is also again at the top in Norway (14th week), Switzerland, Austria, France (9 weeks each), Belgium (8th week), The Netherlands, England (both 7 weeks) and Germany (6th week), while it is at No.3 in Bulgaria, jumps from #5 to No.2 in Canada, enters the Top 10 in Portugal (#12 to No.5) and leaps up from No.41 to a new peak of No.23 in America. It lost the top spot in New Zealand after nine weeks (#3 TW, now the second longest running No.1 in N.Z. for an Aussie act behind the 10 weeks achieved by Stan Walker with "Black Box" in 2009) and is at No.2 in Sweden and Denmark, No.3 also in Finland and at No.5 in Ireland. The song went 4xP five weeks ago, 5xP three weeks ago, and now this week it is up to 6x▲Platinum in sales.
Scoring their sixth Top 2 single are Maroon 5 who have been in the No.2 as a peak on five occasions with one track ("She Will Be Loved" in 2004) making it all the way to No.1, as the bands latest single "Memories" is up two places to a new peak of No.2, while Regard's remix of "Ride it" by Jay Sean holds its peak of No.3, after which last weeks rebounding song for Post Malone in "Circles" swaps places with M5 this week and falls back down two spots to No.4.
The new No.1 song in New Zealand this week is the highest new entry here in the first single for U.S. rapper and vocalist Arizona Zervas called "Roxanne", which comes in at No.5 here this week, making us and N.Z. the only two markets (so far) where the song has cracked the Top 10, while it's at No.11 in Sweden, No.13 in Ireland and No.17 in both Norway and Canada, plus it jumps from No.42 to No.24 in the U.K. and debuts at No.34 in the U.S.A., all helped by a recent TikTok explosion of the track.
Dua Lipa holds for a second week at No.1 in Ireland with her new single "Don't Start Now", with the song here climbing two places to land at a new peak of No.6 (it should go higher when she's here at the end of the month). Lizzo just issued an expanded edition of the album "Cuz I Love You" on Friday, which includes her first Top 10 single here "Good as Hell" which is down one spot to No.7, and falling three to No.8 is the Selena Gomez song "Lose You to Love Me", followed by a two place drop to No.9 for the Dan + Shay with Justin Bieber song "10,000 Hours", and rounding out the T10 at No.10 for a third non-consecutive week is Tones and I with "Never Seen the Rain".

It's been over two years since a country artist has taken out the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart, but this week Luke Combs sees his second album "What You See is What You Get" debut at the summit in Australia this week.
"What You See is What You Get" by Luke Combs becomes the 859th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2019), the 709th for ARIA (1983 to 2019), the 499th to debut at No.1 (since the first in 1976), the 21st No.1 for 2019 and the 45th for the Sony subsidiary label Columbia and their second this year after Bruce Springsteen's "Western Stars" in late June of this year, in fact that was the last country performed No.1 album here, while the last #1 set by a country artist was "Now" for Shania Twain (1 week on 9th of October, 2017).
This is the second album and entry for Luke Combs, whose debut set "This One's for You" has so far reached No.7 (peaked late March of 2019) and that set is sitting at No.17 this week in it's 87th week within the Top 100. This is the sixth No.1 album with the word 'What' in it's titles, the twelfth 'You' (and the second with two You's in it's title, the other was The 1975 set "I Like it When You Sleep, For You Are so Beautiful yet Unaware of it", 1 week on 7-March, 2016), the third 'See' and also the third 'Get' in a No.1 album title in Australia.
The new No.1 album also becomes the 305th by an American act to hit the top here (the 10th for 2019), and Luke Combs is the 155th American Act (solo, duo, group, male or female) to hit No.1, while also the 49th Solo American Male Singer and the album is also the 243rd by a Solo Male Artist (local or overseas) and the eighth for 2019 after Kanye West, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Barnes. Conrad Sewell and the first for this year was Dean Lewis.
Returning to the chart at a new peak of No.2 is the 17th studio album for Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and "Ghosteen", which returns to the Top 100 at No.2 thanks to the physical release (CD, vinyl) of the album last week, which originally debuted and peaked at No.7 on the 14th of October, making it now the bands fifth Top 2 album in Australia (two #1's and now three #2's).
The high new and old entries pushes down last weeks top four albums this week, with Post Malone and his "Hollywood's Bleeding", Ed Sheeran's "No.6 Collaborations Project" and "Lover" for Taylor Swift all moving down one place each to No.3, No.4 and No.5 respectively, while last weeks No.1 album for Kanye West and "Jesus is King" falls five places this week to No.6. There are also drops for the Billie Eilish album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" (6 to No.9) and the Tones and I EP "The Kids are Coming" (5 to No.10).
Two further Top 10 debuts this week are the No.7 entry for the soundtrack to the new Paul Feig (Bridesmaids/Ghostbuster remake) film "Last Christmas" using the music of George Michael and Wham! ONLY on the soundtrack from the bands early music like 1984's "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" (nothing from the 1983 first album) and many of George's solo songs like "Too Funky", "Faith", "Fastlove" and "Freedom! 90" among the fourteen tracks. This is followed by the new No.1 album in their native New Zealand for the group Six60, whose third self-titled album "Six60(3)" enters here at No.8 this week to not only become their first chart entry in Australia, but also their first Top 10 placing too.

What's the 3rd one I can't think of (besides the top 10 weeks)? All I can think of is that All I Want For Christmas was #1 in its 29th top 50 week, one more than Perfect's last week at #1 which seems like a record to me
incidentally, Sunflower just broke his quinella on the linear points list too.
