Singles Chartifacts:

Justin Bieber's seventh No.1 single "Peaches" holds for a second week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart.

"Peaches" also holds for a fourth week at the top in New Zealand, while the songs second week here at No.1 increases Justin Bieber's tally of 'Weeks at No.1; Singles (1940 to 2021)' to now 31 accumulated weeks, moving him up that list from No.20 last week to No.18 this week, just behind the 31 weeks racked up by our own Kylie Minogue (from 10 #1's), while if he stays for another week he will move to No.17 the following week, while he has a bit to catch up the 16th placed Madonna on 36 overall weeks at No.1 in Australia.

In 2020 the newer No.1 artists seemed to stay at the top longer than the other acts who'd previously scored a No.1 song (apart from The Weeknd that is), like Taylor Swift (two 1 week No.1's), Ariana Grande (2 weeks) and Mariah Carey (1 week), while that trend could continue into 2021, as two new No.1 acts have occurred this year in Olivia Rodrigo and Glass Animals, so could former No.1 holder Justin Bieber be only able to keep his "Peaches" at the top for only two weeks, or can Lil' Nas X climb again next week with his latest entry "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)", which this week here is up one spot to a new peak of No.2, while this week is the two year anniversary of his former chart-topper "Old Town Road" starting a thirteen week broken run at the top in Australia (April 22nd, 2019), with that song returning to the chart last week to No.73, after having fallen out of the Top 100 back on January 25th, 2021. The "Montero" track remains the No.1 seller again this week in England and Ireland (both 3rd week) and scores it's first week in Canada.

Swapping places and down one place to No.3 is the recent No.1 stayer for Glass Animals and "Heat Waves", after which is the first of two Top 10 debuts this week, rapper Polo G with "RapStar" coming in at No.4, which instantly becomes his first Top 10 entry here and highest charted of his five Top 100 placements (4 as a solo act and 1 as a guest artist), as he has only scored one Top 50 entry with "Martin & Gina" (HP-50, March 1st, 2021), with this new track taken from his forthcoming third album "Hall of Fame". The song also debuted at No.2 in Ireland and New Zealand, plus No.3 in England this week.

The highest new entry pushes down the remainder of the Top 10, with all songs dropping one place, starting with Masked Wolf and "Astronaut in the Ocean" (4 to No.5), that song also climbing to new peaks in Canada (#5), The U.S.A. (#10) and England (#15). After which is "The Business" for Tiësto (5 to No.6), "Without You" by The Kid Laroi (6 to No.7), which is the longest running Top 10 entry at the moment at 19 weeks; "Cover Me in Sunshine" for Pink (7 to No.8) and "Driver's License" for Olivia Rodrigo (8 to No.9). The second and final Top 10 debut this week comes in at No.10, "Kiss Me More" for Doja Cat with SZA, the song also entering in the same spot in England this week, but one place higher in Ireland (#9) and it's also new at No.6 in New Zealand. By entering in at No.10 it has become Doja Cat's third Top 10 placement in Australia after "Say So" (HP-4, March 2020) and her guest appearance on the remix for the Ariana Grande track "34+35" (HP-5, Jan 2021). The song is taken from her mid-year due third album for Doja Cat called "Planet Her", while for guest rapper SZA this is her fourth Top 10 placing, three as guest, one as lead.

TOP 20: Last week's new entry for Olivia Rodrigo and "Deja vu" is this week up two places to a new peak of No.11 and is the only rising track within the Top 20. Let's hope it continues to climb and she doesn't fall into the No.1 followed by No.11 peaking single chart anomaly.
TOP 30: all songs fall within the Top 30 this week, so no climbers.
TOP 40: Last week's entry for UK rapper's Russ Millions and Tion Wayne with "Body" leaps this week fifteen spots to land at a new peak of No.32, while the new 'Taylor's version' of Taylor Swift's second album "Fearless" debuts as the No.1 album this week, it not only produces new entries but also pulls her albums first re-issued track in "Love Story" back into the Top 100 at No.36 this week.
TOP 50: The only climbing track within the Top 50 is a song which entered the Top 100 last week at No.92 and this week it zooms up forty-four spots to land at No.48, "Bed" for Joel Corry with RAYE and David Guetta, becoming Joel's third Top 100 and Top 50 entry in Australia after "Sorry" (HP-40, January 2020) and his biggest hit so far "Head & Heart" (HP-2, peaked 26th of October, 2020, TW-28).

TOP 20: Two songs leave the Top 10 this week, the HVME remix of the Travis Scott track "Goosebumps" (HP-5, WI10-8) down three to No.12, followed by "Hold On" (HP-6, WI10-3) for Justin Bieber which drops five places to No.15. There's a three place drop to No.14 for Dua Lipa's "Levitating" remixes, and four place slides for "Up" by Cardi B and "Calling My Phone" by Lil' Tjay to No.18 and No.20 respectively. Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open" is stable at No.17 and the new No.1 single in America this week, maybe some of that smooth-70's soul-sounds will boost the songs No.10 peak here.
TOP 30: The Weeknd has two songs within the Top 30 this week in "Save Your Tears" (18 to No.21) and Blinding Lights (19 to No.23), while Justin Bieber also has two in his appearance on "Mood" (20 to No.24) for 24KGOLDN and his own entry "Anyone" (22 to No.26), and lastly both Head/Heart tracks are lodged within the Top 30 too for Joel Corry's "Head & Heart" (25 to No.28) and Ava Max with "My Head & My Heart" (28 to No.30).
TOP 40: After leaping back up to No.27 last week the Fleetwood Mac classic "Dreams" drops back down seven spots this week to No.34. The other big drops inside the Top 40 are "Paradise" by Meduza (32 to No.38), "Holy" for Justin Bieber (30 to No.39) and "Good Days for SZA (33 to No.40).
TOP 50: A month ago Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar" won a Grammy Award and shot back up into the Top 40, while this week it returns to the Top 50 by dropping down six places to No.41, followed by a four place slip to No.42 for Amy Shark and Keith Urban's "Love Songs Ain't For Us", while Amy issued her new self-titled single on Friday. After two weeks at a peak of No.37 the AJR single "Bang!" falls seven places this week to No.44, while "WAP" for Cardi B declines six spots to No.46. Also falling are "Best Friend" for Saweetie and Doja Cat (42 to No.47), "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I (43 to No.49) and "Lemonade" by Internet Money (44 to No.50), while last weeks No.39 peaking entry for Sam Fischer and Demi Lovato in "What Other People Say" leaves the Top 50 this week, as too does newly ▲Platinum certified Spacey Jane single "Booster Seat" (#46).

* #4 - RapStar by Polo G (Columbia)

* #10 - Kiss Me More by Doja Cat feat. SZA (Kemosabe/RCA)

* #19 - Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor's version) (from the Vault) by Taylor Swift (Republic)
* #45 - Forever & Always (Taylor's version) by Taylor Swift (Republic) are both taken from the redone second album for the pop/country singer "Fearless", which lands at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week and becomes the third and fourth redone song from the re-recorded album to chart after "Love Story" (HP-21, TW-36) and "You All Over Me" (HP-34). Both "Mr. Perfectly Fine" and "You All Over Me" were never issued on the original album, thus they're 'from the Vault' classification.

* #43 - Anywhere Away from Here by Rag'N'Bone Man & Pink (Sony UK) is the lead single from the English singers second album "Life by Misadventure" which is out next Friday (April 23rd), while overall this is his fourth Top 100 and third Top 50 entry in Australia, having previously scored two Top 20 hits in his initial entry "Human" (HP-17, peaked Jan 2017) and with Calvin Harris on "Giant" (HP-19, peaked early April 2019).

Albums Chartifacts:

Taylor Swift debuts at the summit of the ARIA Albums Chart this week with her reworked second album "Fearless (Taylor's version)", becoming her eighth No.1 Album in Australia.

"Fearless (Taylor's version)" is the 913th No.1 Album locally (1965 - 2021), the 763rd for ARIA (1983 - 2021), the 549th to debut at the top, the 13th No.1 album for 2021, and now the 17th for the record label Republic, plus their third in a row by Taylor herself, as this is her third No.1 album in eight months having spent four weeks at the top in both August of 2020 with "folklore" and mid-December 2020 to mid-January 2021 with "evermore".

With this new No.1 becoming Taylor's eighth chart-topping album she is now equal fifth on the list for 'Most No.1 Albums: 1965 - 2021' alongside last year's eighth No.1'ers Foo Fighters and also Pearl Jam are on eight. Taylor also becomes now the second highest ranked Solo Female Artist with the most No.1 Albums behind Madonna's eleven. She also moves up on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums 1965 - 2021' from 20th to now 18th just behind U2 (25 weeks with 11 #1's) and just ahead of The Rolling Stones (25 weeks, 7 #1's) and Savage Garden (25 weeks, 2 #1's).

The original "Fearless" album for Taylor Swift peaked at No.2 on March 23rd, 2009 and again on April 20th, 2009, so this is the albums first turn in the No.1 spot here, and it's also the first time that the word 'Fearless' has appeared in a No.1 album title, with two previous 'Fear' infused albums at No.1 being "Fear Inoculum" for Tool (1 week on Sept 9th, 2019) and Sia's "1000 Forms of Fear" (1 week on July 14th, 2014). This new No.1 album has also debuted at the top in England and New Zealand, and here it also becomes the 322nd No.1 Album by an American Artist (solo, duo, group, male or female) and the 140th by a Solo Female Artist (local or overseas).

The chart feat of scoring three No.1 albums in less than a one year period has been done once before in Australian Albums Chart history, when The Beatles dominated the charts in their third year of charting locally, after the Beatlemania of 1964, the first Australian Albums chart show that they had the first, third and fifth No.1 albums in Australia, all occurring between the first chart in January 1965 to September of 1965 when their second soundtrack "Help!" began an eleven week run at the top. Below are some of the other acts who've almost managed this achievement, the only recent acts would be Robbie Williams and One Direction, and the only act to maybe outdo Taylor so far is Elton John with four No.1 albums between March 1974 and June of 1975, so unless she does another 'Taylor's version' album sometime this year, she might just be ending this chart feat.

Abba (Dec 1975 to Nov 1976) 3 #1's
Beatles (3 in 1965)
Beatles Oct (1969 to June 1970) 3 #1's
Bee Gees (March 1978 to Dec 1979) 3 #1's {includes 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack}
Neil Diamond (May 1973 to Dec 1974 3 #1's
Elton John (March 1974 to June 1975) 4 #1's
One Direction (April 2012 to Dec 2013) 3 #'1s
The Police (Feb 1980 to Dec 1981) 3 #1's
Split Enz (April 1980 to June 1982) 3 #'1s
Rod Stewart (Nov 1975 to Nov 1977) 3 #1's
Robbie Williams (Oct 2004 to Oct 2006) 3 #1's

After it's second week at No.1 last week the latest Justin Bieber album "Justice" is back down one place to No.2, while it spends a third week at the top in his home country of Canada and returns for a second overall week at No.1 in America. This is followed by a No.3 entry for the sixteenth studio album for Australian artist Richard Clapton called "Music is Love (1966-1970)", which is a fifteen track covers album of songs from that time period including "Summer in the City", "Riders on the Storm", "For What it's Worth", "Love the One You're With" and "Woodstock". And by coming in at No.3 it becomes Richard's highest charted album since he first charted with his second album in 1975 in "Girls on the Avenue" (HP-33), plus this is his first ARIA Top 10 album and second overall locally, having only ever hit the Top 10 with his seventh album "The Great Escape" (HP-8, 1982, AMR), plus this album's vinyl edition is the third highest selling this week too.

Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia" album is down two places to No.4 this week, followed by an eighteen place leap to No.5 for the latest Ariana Grande album "Positions" (23 to No.5), thanks to the albums vinyl release last week, this week it is the top selling vinyl album, and spending its ninth overall week within the Top 10.

American rap act Brockhampton land the third and final Top 10 debut this week with their sixth studio album "Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine" coming in at No.6, which becomes their third Top 10 and chart entry after "Iridescence'' (LP#4, HP-6, Oct 2018) and "Ginger" (LP#5, HP-3, Sept 2019). The three high new entries push down last weeks other Top 10 albums which were "Fine Line" for Harry Styles (5 to No.7), The Weeknd with "The Highlights'' (3 to No.8), The Kid Laroi's mixtape and EP (4 to No.9) and the Pop Smoke set "Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon'' (6 to No.10).

TOP 20: With five albums within the Top 50 this week, Taylor Swift rises with her three of her four older entries, two of which are within the Top 20 in her last album "evermore" (15 to No.12) and it's predecessor "folklore" (stable at No.16). And thanks to having the No.4 selling vinyl album this week the self-titled Harry Styles debut album is back up six places to No.20, it's first time back within the Top 20 since August 28th, 2017 when it spent it's last week within the twenty at No.18.
TOP 30: Taylor's "1989" album rebounds four spots to No.24, while The Wiggles "We're All Fruit Salad: Greatest Hits" jumps back up eleven spots to No.26 (the albums DVD equivalent came out in the first week of April). Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" album jumps up again this week, rising a massive seventeen places to No.27, while making a bigger rise is the last One Direction album "Made in the A.M.", rebounding twenty-four spots to No.29.
TOP 40: The third of the four Taylor rises is her seventh album "Lover", which is only up two spots to No.34, and it is the only rising album within this chart region.
TOP 50: The second One Direction album to return to the Top 50 is their set "Four", up forty-two places this week to land at No.42. Also moving back into the fifty are Machine Gun Kelly with "Tickets to My Downfall" (51 to No.48) and thanks to a No.4 singles chart debut this week the Polo G album "The Goat" jumps up seventeen chart rungs to land at No.49.

TOP 20: Two of the four Top 10 dropouts land within the Top 20 this week, with Billie Eilish down four spots to No.11 with "When We All Fall Asleep..." (HP-1x6, WI10-83a) and "Rumours" for Fleetwood Mac (HP-1x8, ARIA.WI10-5a), which drops four places to No.14. Top 50 dropouts:

LWArtist - Title
39Sam Fischer (feat Demi Lovato) - What Other People Say
41Sigala & James Arthur - Lasting Lover
45Kali Uchis - telepatía
46Spacey Jane - Booster Seat
48DaBaby (feat Roddy Ricch) - ROCKSTAR
49Ariana Grande - Positions
50Pop Smoke - What You Know Bout Love
Spacey Jane's Booster Seat has gone Platinum below the Top 50.
Seems like a bit of a correction here - a lot of established hits seemed to jump back up last week (or plateau) only to fall back this time. I'd understand if it corresponded with a big album taking over the top 50 but it seems like this happened a week after the Bieber album tracks fell.
I think the Easter long weekend brought in a lot of streams that were not 'music discovery' focused. And also this week had 3 top 20 debuts, which is not common.

Chartifacts updated for this week.

Any questions about my multiple #1 Albums listing let me know.
I think that Taylor is planning to release her versions of her first 6 albums this year. She will probably score multiple #1 LPs in 2021.
It feels really weird that Ariana isn't even in the top 50 anymore after almost a year of her appearing in one form or another (Stuck With U -> Rain on Me -> positions)
and on the week her vinyls gave her a huge boost too
Lower entries updated (most TsWift tracks) and one DMX return, plus a heap of new certs for older tracks.
