Welcome to New Zealand Music Month. At the end of the month I will post the biggest NZ singles and albums based on points from the Official NZ Singles and Albums chart but leading into that, here's some charts from the past. How I've tabulated these is as follows: I chose a chart and took out anything that wasn't kiwi. The #weeks column represents the number of weeks the song has been in the full chart up to that point but the last week and peak column represents a chart where only kiwi's were listed.
Chart Beat If you look at this years list of the best kiwi singles and albums you could be forgiven for thinking there wasn't much change from last year. Six60 take out the top album for the second year in a row and they continue to dominate but they have some healthy competition from L.A.B. The lads have four albums in the Top 11 matching Six60. It's a similar picture in the singles chart. Newcomer Niko Walters, who is related to Matiu Walters from Six60, has the number 3 singles whilst Teeks breaks the monotony with the #7 album.
