I don't have very high hopes for this year musically, sadly.
When I worked at a hospital ten years ago, one of the nurses would put the radio on when she went to lunch. I was one of the ambulance drivers but I had lunch at the hospital with her and the radio would play music that people would remember.
Maybe I am speaking too early, but how many of these songs are people going to remember? The only big name here (Crowded House) is a group that has been around for three and a half decades.
I can't speak for everyone else but I know personally a lot of my favourites aren't going to be songs a lot of people will remember. I'm fine with that, I just listen to what I like regardless of how well known it is or how remembered it will be. Just my thoughts.
I'll probably do my own mid-year at some point within the next month
