Singles Chartifacts:

Ed Sheeran lands his sixth Australian No.1 single this week as his new track "Bad Habits" debuts at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart.

"Bad Habits" (Atlantic) by Ed Sheeran becomes the 1106th No.1 Single in Australia (1940 to 2021), the 541st for ARIA (1983 to 2021), the 127th song to debut at No.1, the eight chart-topping single and second to debut at the top for 2021, while for his record label Atlantic it's the 30th to make it to No.1 and their second for this year after Russ Millions & Tion Wayne's "Body" on May 17th for two weeks.

This is now Ed's sixth No.1 single locally, having first hit the top with "Sing" (1 week on May 5th, 2014), then followed by "Thinking Out Loud" (5 weeks from Oct. 20th, 2014), "Shape of You" (13 weeks from Jan. 16th, 2017 and a further two weeks from April 24th, 2017), his Beyonce duet of "Perfect" (8 weeks from Dec. 11th, 2017) and his last was with Justin Bieber and "I Don't Care" (1 week on May 20th, 2019). So this is now Ed's first chart-topping single for this new decade, and he has amassed 31 weeks at the top in Australia, moving him up to 19th (from 21st) on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles (1940-2021)', just behind Justin Bieber (31 weeks, 7 #1's) and Kylie Minogue (31 weeks, 10 #1's).

With this sixth No.1 song, Ed now has as many chart-pinnacle hits as ABBA, Dean Martin, Roy Orbison, The Rolling Stones and Guy Sebastian, and for English Solo Male Artists he is now outright second on their list for most No.1 singles behind orchestra leader Joe Loss on 14 #1's (from the 1940's), and he is now ahead of George Michael (5 #1's) and Rod Stewart (4 #1's). While for English Acts (solo, duo, group, male or female) he is equal third behind The Beatles (26 #1's), Joe Loss and tied with him on six are Vera Lynn and The Rolling Stones. This new No.1 song also becomes the 210th by an English Act to make it to the top in Australia and the third this year after Russ & Tion in May and Glass Animals in March.

It's the third time that the word 'Bad' has appeared in a No.1 song title, the two previous being "Bad Blood" for Taylor Swift (3 weeks from June 1st, 2015) and "Bad Guy" for Billie Eilish (2 weeks from April 8th, 2019), while for 'Habit(s)' it the first appearance at the top of the Australian charts, while the new No.1 song also becomes the highest charted song titled 'Bad Habits' after Billy Field's debut single of the same name made it to No.4 (two weeks in early July of 1981). "Bad Habits" has also entered at No.1 in his homeland of England (10th #1 there), Ireland (7th #1), New Zealand (6th #1) and came in at No.3 in Germany and No.10 in Sweden, so far.

So after five weeks at the top the second Olivia Rodrigo No.1 song "Good 4 U" drops down a spot to No.2 (6th week at No.1 in Canada), while her album "SOUR" remains the top selling set this week, while she only has one further Top 10 entry this week as "Deja Vu" drops down four places to No.10. Also down one place and landing at No.3 is Doja Cat with SZA and "Kiss Me More", while she debuts just outside of the Top 10 and lands two further entries within the Top 40 and Top 50 from her third studio album "Planet Her", which mirrors her singles position by entering at No.3 over on the albums chart this week.

The first of three new certifications within the Top 50 this week is a 3x▲Platinum sales cert for the stable No.4 entry by Dua Lipa and "Levitating", which is not only spending a fifth non-consecutive week at No.4, but is also cracking the half-year mark within the Top 10 of 26 weeks (the current highest within the ten), which makes it the equal seventh longest running Top 10 in Australia, plus she's only three weeks away from tying with the 29 weeks achieved by "Don't Start Now".

After two weeks at No.3 the track "Save Your Tears" by The Weeknd with Ariana Grande is down two places to No.5, followed by the first of two entries this week within the Top 30 for Italian rock group and Eurovision winners Måneskin, as last week's new entry for them "Beggin'" leaps up sixteen spots to land at No.6, giving them their first Top 10 placement in Australia. The song is a cover of the 1967 Four Seasons song of the same name, which didn't chart here locally, but this new version has so far hit No.1 in Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany (last week). They also have two songs within the UK Top 10 and Irish Top 5 this week, this current Top 10 entry here plus this week's new entry at No.21.

On hold at No.7 and No.8 are "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals and "Astronaut in the Ocean" by Masked Wolf, respectively, with the local rapper sitting at No.10 in America with his track, which here is now certified 2x▲Platinum in sales, and then this is followed by a one place rise to No.9 for the former No.1 by Lil' Nas X and "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)".

TOP 20: Only one climbing song within the Top 20, and that is for the latest Vance Joy single "Missing Piece", which rises three spots to land at a new peak of No.20, becoming their sixth Top 20 single locally.
TOP 30: The Tom Grennan track "Little Bit of Love" continues to rise up the chart, this week it jumps up six places to score a new chart height of No.24, while the Majestic x Boney M remix of "Rasputin" is on hold at its peak of No.29 for a second week.
TOP 40: With the new Doja Cat album coming in at No.3 this week, it helps pull back up the track from the album "Need to Know", as it rebounds eleven spots this week to No.32, one place lower than it's No.31 peak/entry position from three weeks ago. Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers move up five spots to a new peak of No.33 with "Leave Before You Love Me", and thanks to his new album coming in at No.2 this week, a lower fifty entry from last week for rapper Tyler, the Creator called "Lumberjack" has sprinted up the charts forty-seven places to land at a new peak of No.40 this week.
TOP 50: The only climbing track amongst the Top 50 is the latest single for Tones and I called "Cloudy Day", which rises seven places to land at a new chart height of No.48 this week, with the track taken from her July 16th due debut album "Welcome to the Madhouse".

TOP 20: Two songs depart the Top 10 this week, with "Body" (HP-1x2, WI10-8) for Russ Millions and Tion Wayne tumbling seven spots to No.12, but the song is newly ▲Platinum in sales, while Olivia Rodrigo sees her "Traitor" track (HP-5, WI10-5) fall five places to land at No.14, while she also moves down within the Top 20 with her first chart entry "Driver's License" (14 to No.17). Further former No.1 songs falling inside the twenty are "Without You" by The Kid Laroi (11 to No.13 {#14 in the U.S.A.}) and "Peaches" for Justin Bieber (12 to No.16).
TOP 30: After peaking at No.20 last week, the Joel Corry entry "Bed" is back down three places to No.23, with a five place decline for the HVME remix of "Goosebumps" for Travis Scott to No.26. Olivia Rodrigo sees two of her tracks take major falls, "Favorite Crime" drops ten places to No.25 and "Happier" slides down nine spots to No.27, while the recent Polo G rebound for the last two weeks for "Rapstar" is this week also down nine places to land at No.28.
TOP 40: ATB's "Your Love (9PM)" and Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open" both drop three places each to No.31 and No.36 respectively, while there are a further two Olivia drop-tracks within the Top 40, "Brutal" (25 to No.34) and "Jealousy, Jealousy" (32 to No.38). BTS might have the U.S. No.1 single for a fifth week with "Butter", but here it slides down six spots to No.37, while "Mood" for 24KGOLDN drops five places to No.39.
TOP 50: Joel Corry's other Top 50 entry in "Head & Heart'' makes a six place dive to No.41, Lorde's new entry from three weeks ago "Solar Power" diminishes seventeen places this week to No.44, while there's a twenty-two place tumble to No.46 for last weeks entry by KSI and "Holiday". Further drops occur for Lewis Capaldi's long-running "Someone You Loved" (40 to No.45), "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles (41 to No.47) and "Build a Bitch" by Bella Poarch (42 to No.50).

Albums Chartifacts:

Olivia Rodrigo's "SOUR" album remains for a sixth week atop the Australian Album Charts.

"SOUR" also occupies the No.1 spot in New Zealand (6th week), Canada (5th week) and returns to the top in America (2nd overall week), and is down to No.2 in England after three broken weeks at the top there. It's the first album to achieve a six week run since Post Malone's third album "Hollywood's Bleeding" (from 16th of Sept., 2019) and the longest continual run by a Female artist since Lady Gaga's ten weeks stretch with the soundtrack to "A Star is Born" (10 of 11 overall weeks from the 29th of Oct., 2018) {although Billie Eilish did notch up seven weeks at No.1, it was spread over six separate runs at the top).

The album might not make it another week, as a new Jimmy Barnes album was issued on Friday, so he could log his 13th No.1 locally next week (making him one shy of The Beatles 14 #1's). But for this week the highest new entry of five consecutive debuts is at No.2, the sixth studio album for U.S. rapper Tyler, the Creator called "Call Me if You Get Lost", which has three songs within the Top 50 singles chart this week. All six of his albums have now lodged within the Top 100, five within the Top 20, and now this becomes his third Top 10 album in Australia after "Flower Boy" (LP#4, HP-8, late July 2017) and his last set "Igor" (LP#5, HP-3, late May 2019), so by coming in at No.2 here this week, this new set is his highest charted album here (it also debuted at No.2 in New Zealand).

The third studio album and now first Top 10 entry for U.S. female singer and rapper Doja Cat called "Planet Her" enters at No.3 this week, with the set containing four current Top 50 singles (two former entries and two new entries). Her second album "Hot Pink" was her first to chart here, reaching No.19 on March 16th, 2020, having first charted from Nov. 18th, 2019, while it currently sits at No.46 this week. This album also mirrors the No.3 position of her current Top 10 singles chart entry "Kiss Me More" which just finished a six week broken peak of No.2.

Three Australian acts make up the remainder of the new entries this week, with two Melbourne acts and a Brisbane twin duo. At No.4 is Melbourne jazz-funk band Hiatus Kaiyote and their third release called "Mood Valiant", which becomes their first Top 10 entry and second overall album chart appearance, as their 2015 set "Choose Your Weapon" (LP#2) made it to No.22 in May of that year. The other Melbourne act are the rock band The Murlocs with their fifth studio album called "Bittersweet Demons", coming in at No.6, which also becomes their first Top 10 placement, but their third Top 20 entry after "Old Locomotive" (LP#3, HP-15, August 2017) and "Manic Candid Episode" (LP#4, HP-16, April 2019). This new album for The Murlocs also managed a No.54 debut on the English Albums chart this week too.

The fifth and final new entry to talk about occurs at No.5, and it's the fifth studio album for The Veronicas entitled "Human", which comes only five weeks after their fourth album "Godzilla" debuted and peaked at No.7 (7th of June, 2021), with that album sitting at No.79 last week. So this new set retains their Top 10 streak, becoming their fifth overall Top 10 album in Australia, with this new album containing the former chart entries "On Your Side" (HP-19, 2016) and "Think of Me" (HP-70, 2019). The four remaining albums within the Top 10 this week are made up of "Future Nostalgia" for Dua Lipa (4 to No.7), Pink's "All I Know So Far: Setlist" (3 to No.8), "Justice" for Justin Bieber (5 to No.9) and The Weeknd with "The Highlights" (7 to No.10).

TOP 20: no rising albums this week.
TOP 30: Taylor Swift has three albums within the Top 30 this week, but only one rises in "folklore" which is back up two spots to No.23. The Juice WRLD set "Legends Never Die'' and the Queen soundtrack for 'Bohemian Rhapsody' are both back up three places to No.25 and No.30 respectively. With a new Ed Sheeran single debuting at No.1 this week, he has massive leaps for two of his older albums, with his last studio set "No.6 Collaborations Project" leaping back up thirty-three spots to land at No.29 this week, with the album last making a Top 30 appearance on January 18th of this year.
TOP 40: The INXS collection "Very Best of" rises back up three to No.31, Post Malone's "Hollywood's Bleeding" is up four to No.37, followed by the second Ed leaping album this week in his second set "x (Multiply)", which halves its position from last week by jumping thirty-eight places to land at No.38, with this album last being within the Top 40 on August 26th, 2019, while it did also land two weeks at No.42 and No.46 from January 11th of this year.
TOP 50: The soundtrack for 'The Greatest Showman' rebounds five spots to No.43, followed by the 42 week Top 100 running entry (and second Top 50 week) collection for Pitbull and his "Greatest Hits", which is up two places to a new peak of No.44, with the final rising album within the fifty being Doja Cat's "Hot Pink", which is up three to No.46, possibly due to her new album coming in at No.3 this week.

TOP 20: Four of the five albums to leave the Top 10 this week land within the Top 20, the first of which is The Kid Laroi's mixtape and EP (HP-1x1, WI10-29a) which drops three spots to No.11, followed by Harry Styles' "Fine Line" (HP-1x3, WI10-72a), dipping two places to No.12. Pop Smoke and his posthumous album "Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon'' (HP-1x1, WI10-36a) falls four to No.13 and the Polo G set "Hall of Fame'' (HP-3, WI10-2) drops nine spots to No.15. All of the Top 20 contains dropping albums this week, with five place slides occuring for Amy Shark and "Cry Forever" and the Billie Eilish set "When We All Fall Asleep..." down to No.16 and No.17 respectively, while there's a four place drop to No.18 for Luke Combs second album "What You See is What You Get".
TOP 30: Two of the three Top 30 Taylor Swift albums drop down this week in "evermore" (20 to No.27) and right after it "1989" (27 to No.28), while there's also a seven place slide to No.26 for the current J. Cole album "The Off-Season".
TOP 40: The latest Maroon 5 studio album "Jordi" drops ten places to land at No.33, the biggest decline within this chart region.
TOP 50: Spacey Jane's "Sunlight" set falls nine places to No.41, whilst also down nine is the 'Hamilton' cast recording to No.48, followed by two bigger falls for the BTS "The Best" set (31 to No.49) and the fifth and final Top 10 dropout, last weeks No.2 returned album for Nick Cave and Warren Ellis called "Carnage" (HP-2, WI10-1), which plummets forty-eight places to land at No.50. Other big drops out of the Top 50 occur for Fear Factory (#15), Crowded House (#24), Migos (#26) and the F9 soundtrack (#29).

* #2 (LP#6) - Call Me if You Get Lost by Tyler, the Creator (Columbia)

* #3 (LP#3) - Planet Her by Doja Cat (Kemosabe/RCA)

* #4 (LP#3) - Mood Variant by Hiatus Kaiyote (Brainfeeder)

* #5 (LP#5) - Human by The Veronicas (Sony Aust.)

* #6 (LP#5) - Bittersweet Demons by The Murlocs (Flightless)

* #42 (LP#4) - Below by Beartooth (Red Bull Records) is the fourth studio album for the American hardcore punk band and now their third to chart in Australia after "Aggressive" (LP#2, HP-18, June 2016) and then "Disease" (LP#3, HP-66, October 2018).

Top 50 dropouts:

LWArtist - Title
36Olivia Rodrigo - Enough For You
44Olivia Rodrigo - 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back
45Billie Eilish - Lost Cause
46Tate McRae - You Broke Me First
47Giveon - Heartbreak Anniversary
48Gang Of Youths - The Angel of 8th Ave.
49Roddy Ricch - Late At Night
50Maroon 5 & Megan Thee Stallion - Beautiful Mistakes
I didn't think that Ed would have enough strength to debut at #1.
Must've been very close between Bad Habits and good 4 u.

Two extra certs below the Top 50:

5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood: 13x Platinum
Keith Urban & P!nk - One Too Many: 2x Platinum

RIP two Olivia Rodrigo tracks and looks like they finally added that other Maneskin song to the chart
chartifacts updated for this week.
Shallow's position??
lower entries updated for this week, plus a heap of new certs, plus the CERT page has been updated with June's info.

With an onslaught of seven further Tyler entries this week, a heap of songs fall down, including "Shallow" (78 to No.90).
