Singles Chartifacts:

David Guetta lands his third No.1 single in Australia this week with his E65 laden track "I'm Good (Blue)" with first time chart-topper Bebe Rexha.

"I'm Good (Blue)" (What a DJ/Warner UK) becomes the 1118th No.1 Single in Australia (1940 to 2022), the 553rd for ARIA (1983 to 2022), the twelfth No.1 for 2022, the 18th for Warner Music (since their first in 1963) plus their third now for 2022 after Kate Bush and Joji both in June. Plus it's the first time that we've seen six successive No.1 singles week-by-week (there is a seven-No.1's-run in 1966, but it will be explained if it happens next week!!), with an almost similar such occurrence happening in April-May of 2018, but not quite, as during that six-successive No.1's stay there was one track that went back for a second stay (Drake followed a new Drake track, after which were Ariana Grande, Post Malone, a returned Drake, Childish Gambino and finally 5SOS with "Youngblood").

With David and Bebe's climb up two spots to take out the No.1 singles berth this week, it's now the ninth time that the word 'Good' has appeared in a No.1 song title, with the last being "Good 4 U" by Olivia Rodrigo for five weeks from May 31st, 2021, while it's now the 17th 'I'm' and the eleventh 'Blue', with of course the sample that is featured in the new No.1 single featuring "Blue (da ba dee)" by Eiffel 65, which was issued this past week 23 years ago (Sept 13th, 1999 in the UK, one year earlier in Oct. 1998 in their native Italy), which logged nine weeks at No.1 in Australia from November 8th, 1999. The new Guetta-infused track has already hit the top spot in Finland, Norway and Switzerland, so Australia is the first non-European country to make it a No.1 song, while it is stable at No.2 in England, Sweden, Ireland, The Netherlands ,Hungary and Denmark, and up to No.3 in Germany and No.4 in New Zealand this week.

This new No.1 single is now the first for Bebe Rexha in Australia, surpassing the two previous No.2 peaks that she achieved as a guest on both "Meant to Be" with Florida Georgia Line (peaked Jan. 29th, 2018) and "That's How You Know" with Nico & Vinz (peaked August 31st, 2015), while for David Guetta he now lands his third No.1 single in Australia, and becomes the first Solo Male act to land a No.1 single in the three decades of this century (Mariah Carey is the lead with four decades of No.1 songs), having first landed a seven week broken stay with "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon from August 17th ,2009, and then his last teaming and No.1 was with Snoop Dogg for "Sweat" (1 week on April 11th, 2011), giving David now his ninth overall week at the top here, placing him now equal 71st alongside The Beach Boys (9 weeks from 3 No.1's) on the listing for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles 1940 to 2022'.

Of the five French artists to have scored a No.1 single in Australia, David Guetta is by-far the leader with his now third No.1 song here, with the four other acts all having only a single No.1 locally, Paul Mauriat (1968), Bob Sinclar (2006), Daft Punk (2013) and DJ Snake (2015). Bebe Rexha becomes the 423rd American Act to hit the top (solo male or female, duo or group), the 102nd Solo America Female Artist, and the song is the 716th to hit the top in Australia performed (or part performed) by an American Artist.

The new No.1 single for Guetta & Rexha is also the third successive song to feature either a sample or interpolation of a former issued track, as it's 'Blue' this week it was 'Super Freak" for Rick James last week and "Tiny Dancer" for Elton John the week prior, giving us a fifth sample-infused track at No.1 during 2022, as Elton's "Cold Heart" also used three or four of his older tracks mashed together and "First Class" by Jack Harlow used "Glamorous" by Fergie. So last week's No.1 song for Nicki Minaj and "Super Freaky Girl" was helped to the top by the video clip being issued on September 2nd, and now this week it's back down one spot to No.2 after a solo week at the top summit, plus the song has held for a fourth week at the top in New Zealand, while we match No.3 spots in both countries this week as OneRepublic's "I Ain't Worried" declines one spot in both locations.

After almost half-a-year on the chart (TW-24 weeks) the Harry Styles single "As it Was" remains at its lowest-ever chart position of No.4 for a second week, while it also picks up a new sales certification of 4x▲Platinum, the song is logging a thirteenth week at No.1 in America. Climbing up four spots to a new peak of No.5 (NZ.TW-2) is the Chris Brown track "Under the Influence'', which becomes his first Top 5 hit since he joined Lil' Dicky on "Freaky Friday" which climbed to No.4 for two weeks from April 9th, 2018.

Glass Animals continue their lengthy Top 10 stay with "Heat Waves", which is a non-mover at No.6 (WI10-84), after which is the second biggest climber within the Top 50 this week, up fourteen places to land at a new peak of No.7 (and a first week inside of the Top 10) is the current fifth-week-running Irish No.1 single "B.O.T.A. (Baddest of All Time)" for Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal. The song was just knocked off the spot in England this week by the new Lewis Capaldi track, falling to No.3 after two weeks at the top, while the song has also jumped 27 to No.11 in New Zealand this week too.

The third and final non-mover within the Top 10 this week is a third-week-stay at No.8 for the current Canadian No.1 single (for a second week) in the Nicky Youre and dazy track "Sunroof" which locally is also newly certified ▲Platinum in sales. This is followed by two dropping tracks in "Bad Habit" for Steve Lacy (U.S. No.2), down two spots to No.9 and halving their position from last week is the three-week-old entry for Elton John and Britney Spears in "Hold Me Closer", which is down five places to No.10 this week.

UP:
Also logging a third non-moving week is the No.11 track "I Like You (A Happier Song)" for Post Malone and Doja Cat, while the only two climbing tracks within the Top 20 are year-old entries in "Cold Heart" for Elton John and Dua Lipa (up one to No.14) and "Shivers" for Ed Sheeran (back up two spots to No.18).

The tour announcement for August of 2023 for U.S. country singer Luke Combs has sent his singles and albums surging back up the charts this week. With his recent No.22 entry "The Kind of Love We Make" (initially peaked on July 4th) this week leaping up fifty-seven places to land at a new peak this week of No.21, while more of his entries and returned tracks are mentioned in the new entries section below.

Moving up one spot to a new chart-height of No.22 is the recent UK No.1 song "Afraid to Feel" for LF System, while another country act who sees a new-peak and rising single is Zach Bryan with "Something in the Orange", which is the biggest leap within the Top 50 this week, up fifteen places to land at No.31. Lizzo's new single "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" is up one spot to a new peak of No.41 (even though it's being used in the new 'Real Love Boat' ads on Channel 10), while returning to the Top 50 this week are Beyoncé and "Cuff it" (90 to No.47, NZ 39 to 8) and "Happier Than Ever" for Billie Eilish (65 to No.50), which returns thanks to her just started national tour here, while her "Lovely" duet with Khalid has returned to the Top 100 at No.87 and gone 9x▲Platinum in sales.

DOWN:
The only song to leave the Top 10 this week is the former No.1 Kate Bush song "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" (HP-1x9, WI10-15, AMR.HP-6, AMR.WI10-2), which drops three spots to No.13 after spending it's initial first-15 chart weeks within the Top 10, while the soundtrack it's from in 'Stranger Things Season 4' is returned to the Album chart this week at No.19 thanks it's physical release last week. This is followed by two more three-place drops for "Vegas" by Doja Cat to No.16 and "Glimpse of Us" by Joji to No.20.

Continuing it's weekly slide of nine or ten place drops again this week are BLACKpink's "Pink Venom" which falls ten spots this week to land at No.29, while it might turn around for next week as their new album "BORN PINK" was issued on Friday. Two Aussie-infused tracks which dropped into the Top 40 this week are "Love Lost" for Mac Miller with The Temper Trap (30 to No.33) and "Sway My Way" for R3HAB and Amy Shark (29 to No.36).

Drake's "Jimmy Cooks" and Kid Laroi's "Thousand Miles" both decline four places each to No.38 and No.40 respectively, while Yung Gravy's "Betty (Get Money)" falls eleven spots to No.43 and Latto's "Big Energy" depletes ten places to No.45, with a six place drop to No.44 for "Numb" by Marshmello and Khalid and a seven place slide to No.48 for Future and Drake's "Wait for U".

NEW ENTRIES:
* #24 - Forget Me by Lewis Capaldi (Vertigo) is the first new material from the Scottish singer in three years, and is the lead single off a forthcoming second studio album (no date or title known as yet). The song has landed first week at No.1 in England and No.2 in Ireland and an akin entry spot of No.23 in New Zealand. This new entry now becomes his fourth Top 40 entry in Australia, while he drops from last week's No.50 to No.53 this week with his 182 week running entry "Someone You Loved". The video clip for this new track is a scene-for-scene remake of the fourth Wham! single "Club Tropicana" from late 1983/early 1984.

* #36 - When it Rains it Pours (2017) by Luke Combs (Columbia)
* #49 - Beautiful Crazy (2018) by Luke Combs (Columbia)
* #51 - Forever After All (2020) by Luke Combs (Columbia)
* #63 - Beer Never Broke My Heart (2019) by Luke Combs (Columbia)
* #79 - Hurricane (2016) by Luke Combs (Columbia) (newly ▲3xPlatinum)
* #90 - She Got the Best of Me (2018) by Luke Combs (Columbia) are just five of the seven Top 100 entries this week for the U.S. country singer who announced last week that he is doing a second tour of Australia from August 11th of 2023, thus his three albums have all shot up into the Top 10 this week, and he lands seven singles chart entries, three of which are new entries, while No.51 and No.63 are re-entries, and his latest single "The Kind of Love We Make" jumps from No.57 to a new peak of No.21 this week. I have added the year-of-release to the above entries also, so you can see how long it's taken for some tracks to make their first chart appearance, while "Forever After All" debuted and peaked at No.14 on Nov. 2nd, 2020 and "Beer Never Broke My Heart" made it to No.44 in it's third Top 100 chart week on June 17th, 2019, while the other four entries are all first time charters. BTW ARIA sent out the Top 100 reports this week with their weekly chart-email, that's why I am able to reveal Luke's lower-fifty entries and returned tracks.

Albums Chartifacts:

Local metalcore act Parkway Drive see their third consecutive No.1 Album in Australia as their seventh studio album "Darker Still" takes out the top of the ARIA Album Charts.

"Darker Still" (Parkway Drive/Resist/Epitaph) becomes the 957th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2022), the 808th for ARIA (1983 to 2022), the 592nd to debut at No.1, the 27th No.1 for 2022 and now the third chart-topping album for both Resist Records and Parkway Drive after their previous two releases also went to No.1 (both for a single week); "Ire" (Oct. 5th, 2015) and "Reverence" (May 14th, 2018), while their new set is also the No.1 selling vinyl album this week and has landed at No.56 in the UK Album Chart.

All seven of Parkway Drive's albums have now landed within the Top 40, as their first "Killing with a Smile" made it to No.39 in late September of 2005, after which all of their six successive albums have landed within the Top 6 or higher. The Byron Bay act has also now joined the list for 'Most No.1 Albums (1965 to 2022)' at No.90 alongside other acts with three No.1 Albums like Prince, You Am I, Arctic Monkeys, Tool, Paul Kelly, The Killers, Lorde, Rufus du Sol and Korn who've all had three weeks at No.1 from their three chart-topping albums.

It's the second time at No.1 for both words within this week's No.1 album title, with the 'Fifty Shades Darker' soundtrack (1 week on Feb. 20th, 2017) the previous 'Darker' and "Still the Twelfth Man" (3 weeks from Jan. 10th, 1993) by The Twelfth Man the other 'Still'. This new No.1 album is now the ninth by an Australian Act for 2022 (Spacey Jane were the last on July 4th) and the 274th by an Aussie Artist overall, while it's also the 419th No.1 Album by a Group (local or overseas).

Debuting at No.2 is the thirteenth studio album for former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne called "Patient Number 9", which becomes his highest charted and now second Top 10 Albums in Australia after his last album "Ordinary Man" debuted and peaked at No.4 on March 2nd, 2020, while he has now landed fourteen solo releases within the Top 100 (10 studio, 2 Best of's and 2 live albums), eleven of which have now made it into the Top 50, while his first entry was with his third album "Bark at the Moon" (HP-94, March 19th, 1984), plus his two compilations albums to chart both peaked in the lower fifty; "The Ozzman Cometh" (HP-62, GH#3, Nov. 16th, 1997) and "Memoirs of a Madman" (HP-51, GH#6, Oct, 27th, 2014).

Luke Combs announced his August 2023 Australian tour this past week, with more shows being added later in the week. This has pulled all of his three studio albums back into the Top 10 this week, with his latest set "Growin' Up" (HP-2x2, July 4th and 11th, 2022) jumping up nineteen places to land at No.3 (WI10 now 6), while his second set "What You See Ain't Always What You Get" flies up twenty-seven spots to No.6 (WI10 now 20) and his first release "This One's for You" leaps twenty-one chart-rungs to land just behind at a re-peak of No.7 (WI10 now 4), making it's semi-annual pilgrimage to the Top 10, as the June 2017 issued album has almost landed one week per-year during it's 235 weeks of charting, (chart entry No.94 on June 12th, 2017, 2 overall Top 100 chart weeks during that year; No.8 on June 11th, 2018; No.7 {it's first peak} on March 25th, 2019; and it's last was at No.9 on May 25th, 2020). Seven singles from his three albums have also debuted or returned to the singles chart this week too, with his latest single "The Kind of Love We Make" jumping from 57 to a new peak of No.21, while he also lands within the Top 50 with "When it Rains it Pours" (first ever entry at No.36, 2017 issued) and "Beautiful Crazy" (first ever entry at No.49, 2018 issued), while he also charts with "Forever After All" (HP-14, returns at No.51; 2020), "Beer Never Broke My Heart" (HP-44, returns at No.63; 2019), "Hurricane" (newly ▲3xPlatinum, first entry at No.79; 2016) and "She Got the Best of Me" (first entry at No.90; 2018). With the tour eleven months away, expect this to happen again in August of 2023 when the actual tour is happening.

Holding at No.4 for a fourth week is The Weeknd compilation "The Highlights", while Harry Styles' "Harry's House" (No.6 vinyl) drops down two places to No.5, it's lowest chart position during it's seventeen weeks within the chart. Also down two spots to land at No.9 is "SOUR" for Olivia Rodrigo, logging it's 69th week on the chart and also within the Top 10, the current leader within this week's ten.

The new No.1 Album in England this week is the third best-of set for Robbie Williams called "XXV" (25), which has landed here at No.8 (No.18 vinyl), featuring his 25 years of solo releases, many of which have been re-recorded or reinterpreted. The album becomes his 14th No.1 Solo Album in England this week, making him now their act with the second most No.1 Albums and first Solo Male Artist, as he's now just ahead of Elvis Presley's 13 and one behind The Beatles 15 UK No.1 Albums. Robbie's two previous compilation sets were his "Greatest Hits" (No.1 for 9 weeks from Oct. 25th, 2004) and "In and Out of Consciousness 1990-2010" (HP-3, Oct. 2010), while he's not the only Williams to debut within the Top 10 this week.

The fourth and final Top 10 debut this week is the second New Zealand No.1 Album for their native artist Marlon Williams called "My Boy", which lands here at No.10 (No.3 vinyl), also becoming his second Top 10 Album in Australia, as his previous set "Make Way for Love" made it to No.8 here and No.1 in his homeland on February 26th, 2018 (dated 23rd in NZ), while his first chart entry was with his self-titled set which made it to No.31 (May 4th, 2015, No.7 in NZ).

UP:
Billie Eilish started her national tour here this past week, which has helped her two studio albums to leap back into the Top 13 this week, with her tours namesake and her second album "Happier Than Ever" jumping twenty-three spots to No.11, while her debut set "When We all Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go" rises eight spots to No.13. Her long-charting EP "Don't Smile at Me" is logging it's fourth accumulated year within the Top 100 (208 weeks) and has climbed 81 to No.55 this week too.

Thanks to a physical release on both CD and Cassette last week, this week the 'Stranger Things Season 4' soundtrack returns to the album chart at No.19 (LW-1432 according to ARIA's website), after which the next album to rise is a three place climb to No.26 for Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia" set.

Lewis Capaldi sees his debut album rise back up eight places to No.43 thanks to his first new material in three years called "Forget Me" debuting at No.24 this week, after which the Morgan Wallen "Dangerous: The Double Album" jumps up nineteen places to No.44, while also returning to the Top 50 are "Teenage Dream" for Katy Perry (52 to No.45) and Green Day's "Greatest Hits: God's Favourite Band" (58 to No.50).

DOWN:
Seven of last week's Top 10 albums leave this week, the ones to survive a small drop are "= (equals)" for Ed Sheeran (HP-1, WI10-42, 8 to No.14) and "Curtain Call 2" for Eminem (HP-2, WI10-4, 9 to No.15), while landing another week within the Top 50 are Megadeth with "The Sick, The Dying and The Dead!" (2 to No.32) and "Mr. Morales & the Big Steppers" by Kendrick Lamar (HP-1, WI10-5, 6 to No.41; No.5 vinyl this week). The three big Top 10 dropouts (which also leave the Top 100 this week too) is YUNGBLUD's self-titled No.1 entry from last week, "IV" for The Butterfly Effect (LW-5) and "Voyage" for ABBA (LW-10).

Beyoncé's "Renaissance (Act 1)" falls five places to No.16, while the second Top 20 collection for Eminem and "Curtain Call: The Hits" drops four to No.18, while Maroon 5's "Singles Collection" dips three to No.20. Leaving the Top 20 for the first time since its return in March of this year is "Fine Line" for Harry Styles, down seven to No.23, followed by a six place drop to No.24 for "AM" for Arctic Monkeys (No.10 vinyl). Further Top 30 drops occur for Daniel Johns with "FutureNever" (13 to No.28) and Foo Fighters "Greatest Hits" (15 to No.29).

All four Taylor Swift Top 50 albums are down this week, with "1989" dipping three to No.30, followed by bigger falls for "folklore" (24 to No.34), "Lover" (30 to No.37) and "Red (TsV)" (41 to No.48). "Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac (No.16 vinyl) falls eight places to No.33, while the INXS "Very Best of" falls back down nine places to No.49. Further Top 100 departures from last week's Top 50 are for Wombat (No.12), Dear Seattle (No.31) and Emma Memma (No.35).

I've added this week's ARIA Top 100 Singles chart entries to my site.

Hear them all here - https://www.top100singles.net/2022/01/every-aria-top-100-single-in-2022.html#show

In the lower fiddy, there's 3 debuts, 3 new peaks and 2 re-entries that haven't charted in the past two months.
chartifacts updated for this week.

Small correction: this is the 5th #1 hit this year with a sample, as there's also "First Class" with its sample of "Glamorous"

Amazed at Luke Combs' amount of chart entries this week, I can't recall ever seeing that big an effect from a tour announcement before.
^ Was thinking the same 392414. I thought he had done a promo trip but no.

Hurricane isn't a new cert. It went triple Platinum last year.
amended 392414, thanks for that.
lower Top 100 Albums added, sorry I just noticed I hadn't added them this week.
