Three weeks and it seems that The Fate of Ophelia is sealed in the #1 singles spot for Taylor Swift.
Ms. Swift also continues her dual-dominance as the single along with her album The Life of a Showgirl both maintain their third week duopoly, becoming Taylor's 18 such week in total from her nine separate dual occupations, since her first in 2014. Ophelia's third week at #1 also becomes her longest run at #1 since Anti-Hero (six weeks from Oct. 31st, 2022, started it's run this week three years ago), while overall this is her fourth song to log three-weeks (and no more) at the top, previously it was with Shake it Off (from Sept. 1st, 2014), Blank Space (from Nov. 24th, 2014, which was her first dual #1 track on Dec. 1st) and Bad Blood (from June 1st, 2015).
Taylor Swift increases her total on the listing for 'Accumulated Weeks at #1: Singles; 2020's' to now 18 in total for this decade, putting her just ahead of The Kid LAROI (18 weeks from 2 #1's, Taylor has had 7 chart-toppers this decade), while the highest for this decade so far is Justin Bieber (20 weeks from 3 #1's). On the similar listing (Singles 1940 to 2025), Taylor moves from 21st to 20th on that listing, now just ahead of the highest placed Australian Act, Kylie Minogue (31 weeks from 10 #1's, Taylor is now 31 weeks from 13 #1's), while if she holds again next week her total will surpass both Eminem (32 weeks from 9 #1's) and Ed Sheeran (32 weeks from 6 #1's), after which is Madonna's total (40 weeks from 11 #1's).
Last week we saw internationally the 20th time that the #1 song occupied seven major regions of the world, well that record is now a one-week-only thing, as this week one of the seven has replaced Taylor at the top. This week The Fate of Ophelia also holds for a third week in England, Ireland, Germany, Norway and Sweden, as well as second weeks at #1 in The U.S.A., Canada, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Luxembourg, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, while it loses the top spot in New Zealand and The Netherlands (after 2 weeks TW-2 in both locales) and Spain (TW-5), drops down in France (4 to #7), Slovakia (2 to #5), South Africa (6 to #8), Hong Kong (2 to #4), Iceland (2 to #3), Malaysia (3 to #4) and Taiwan (5 to #8).
Regaining it's #2 peak for a fifth overall time is the Olivia Dean track Man I Need, rising two places this week, while the song retakes the #1 spot in New Zealand (fourth overall week), with the song also at #2 in England and Ireland, #3 in The Netherlands and a new peak in Germany (31 to #18), rebounding slightly in The U.S.A. (20 to #17, HP-8) and Canada (up to #16, HP-8). Plus Olivia also has the only NEW PEAK within the Top 10 this week and her third entry here in total, as So Easy (to Fall in Love) leaps twelve places this week to land at #10 (UK 8 to #6, Ireland 9 to #8, NZ 16 to #6, Dutch 17 to #12, U.S.A. 87 to #53, Canada 61 to #41, all NEW PEAKS too).
The only other non-mover within the Top 10 this week is at #3, Golden for HUNTR/X, which matches the #3 position of its parent soundtrack album KPop Demon Hunters too. The song is at #1 overseas in Malaysia (12th week), Hong Kong (7th week), Iceland (returns for 8th week), Taiwan (returns for 11th week) and The Netherlands (returns for 4th week), while it takes the top spot in Spain for the first time (LW-5). It also sits at #2 in Germany, Canada (LW-13), Austria (LW-11), Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, #3 in England, Ireland, New Zealand, The U.S.A. (up from #13), Portugal (LW-8), #5 in Czech Republic, #6 in Denmark, #8 in Slovakia and #13 in South Africa (new peak).
Three weeks ago Taylor has the entire Top 12 songs, meaning she also had the entire Top 10, then last week that total dropped to eight-out-of-ten, and now this week she has four Top 10 songs from her Showgirl set, all of which dip two places each, as Opalite is down to #4 after two weeks of sitting at #2, along with Elizabeth Taylor and Father Figure down to #7 and #8 respectively.
After Olivia's leap to #10, there are three more songs which jump into the ten this week, all of them returns, as the 17 week running former #1 for Alex Warren and Ordinary along with No Broke Boys for Disco Lines with Tinashe (#1 Dance Single again) both rise six places each to #5 (WI10-30) and #6 (WI10-16) respectively, while sombr sees a seven place rebound to #9 with 12 to 12 (WI10 now four)...
TOP 20: ...while sombr also has a Top 20 and Top 30 placement this week too, as back to friends sees a six place rise back up to #14 this week, with two further six-spot climbs seen by RAYE with WHERE IS MY HUSBAND? (to #18, HP-16, UK #4, IRE #5, NZ #13) and Soda Pop for Saja Boys (to #12), while their other Top 20 placement in Your Idol is up one spot to #20. Olivia Dean also sees a seven place rise to #16 for her former #10 peaking track Nice to Each Other (UK & IRE #8, NZ up to #11).
The four songs leaving the Top 10 this week are all Taylor Swift album tracks, starting with the albums title track The Life of a Showgirl with Sabrina Carpenter (7 to #11, HP-6, WI10-2), then Wi$h Li$t (9 to #13, HP-9x2, WI10-2), Wood (8 to #15, HP-5, WI10-2) and Actually Romantic (10 to #17, HP-8, WI10-2), while the second of nine non-movers within the Top 50 this week sees Tate McRae on hold at #19 with her latest entry TIT FOR TAT.
TOP 30: The final four Taylor Swift Showgirl tracks all fall into this chart region, with CANCELLED!, Ruin the Friendship and Eldest Daughter all falling eight places each to #21, #22 and #23 respectively, while the biggest fall within the Top 50 this week sees her track Honey melt eleven places to claim the #28 branch this week.
Three songs remain stable within the Top 30, with both DAISIES for Justin Bieber (#25) and the sombr track Undressed (#27) both in-place for a third straight week, while Ravyn Lenae's Love Me Not remains at #29 for another week, again claiming the #1 Hip Hop/R&B Single and it is newly certified as 3x▲Platinum in sales too. Three songs rise two places each, with the two KPop Demon Hunters entries here being What it Sounds Like (to #24) and How it's Done (to #26) both by HUNTR/X, while Benson Boone's Beautiful Things is up to #30.
TOP 40: The second and third NEW PEAKS occur here, with Olivia Dean again scoring a new chart height as Baby Steps rises two places to land at #39, while rising from the lower-fifty coffin is the first Australian Act in the Top 50 since September 1st, as Tame Impala's Dracula rises twenty-seven places to land at #40 (#1 Australian Performers Singles chart), thanks to their new album Deadbeat landing at #2 this week, while the song has so far charted 84-86-67-40, with the last Aussie act within the Top 50 being Crowded House, while we got close on October 6th when The Kid LAROI who jumped to #53 with A Cold Play (which became its peak), the week his ex-girlfriend debuted at #6 with her reply track.
Further rising entries here are A Bar Song (Tipsy) for Shaboozey (up five to #31), single-spot moves for Just Keep Watching for Tate McRae (to #34) and Manchild (up to #38) for Sabrina Carpenter, while she also dips one spot to #35 with her Tears track (possible slow drops this week due to her hosting SNL last weekend), while the final rise here sees BIRDS OF A FEATHER for Billie Eilish flit up three spots to #37.
Dropping down is the Victory Lap for Fred Again... with Skepta (down two to #32), along with two final KPop Demon Hunters tracks, Free (down two to #33) and Takedown for HUNTR/X (falls three to #36).
TOP 50: The three final stable tracks in the fifty this week go to Tate McRae's Sports Car (at #43), current second-week tourist Teddy Swims and Bad Dreams (at #46, newly 3x▲Platinum in sales too, claims the #1 single On Replay chart) , along with I Had Some Help for Post Malone and Morgan Wallen (at #48).
Rising back up from the lower fifty are the only two climbing entries in the chart section, with Gracie Arbams and That's So True up three to #49, while the recent #42 peaking track Folded for Kelhani moves up one spot this week to #50.
Falling four places each are Sugar on My Tongue for Tyler, the Creator and When Did You Get Hot? for Sabrina Carpenter to #41 and #42 respectively, followed by Gabriela for KATSEYE (down two to #44) and the two Bruno Mars duets in his teaming with Lady Gaga on Die With a Smile (down one to #45) and alongside Rosé with APT. (down two to #47).
The Life of a Showgirl era for Taylor Swift continues her run at #1 in Australia for a third straight week.
Taylor's twelfth set and it's third week at the top in Australia increases her tallies locally to 71 weeks overall (from her 14 #1's) and 55 weeks for this decade (from 9 #1's during the 2020's), while the set does drop to No.2 on the local Vinyl Sales Chart, it also continues its overseas reign in England, Ireland, New Zealand and The Netherlands (all third week), The U.S.A. and Canada (both second week), while falling to #5 in Germany (down three). Her dual occupation of the #1 slots occurs again this week for an eighteenth overall time in her chart career.
Taylor could continue to hold for the next few weeks, with the below acts previously scoring a #1 Album (or more) locally, so could any of these contest the top-spot... * Lily Allen (issued Friday, affecting 3rd of Nov. chart) * Florence + the Machine (next Friday Oct. 31st, affecting the 10th of Nov. chart) * Paul Kelly (Friday Nov. 7th, affecting 17th of Nov. chart) * 5 Seconds of Summer (Friday Nov. 14th, affecting 24th of Nov. chart) * Stray Kids (Friday Nov. 21st, affecting the 1st of Dec. chart), with further releases coming from Jessie J and potentially BLACKpink (both Nov. 28th) plus Boy & Bear (Dec. 12th).
The new No.1 Vinyl Album is also the #1 holder on the Australian Artists Album and Singles charts, plus their fifth studio album entitled Deadbeat enters at #2 nationally for Tame Impala, giving all of their studio albums now Top 4 (or higher) placements locally, with their last two sets both scoring #1 berths for The Slow Rush (LP#4, Feb. 24th, 2020) and Currents (LP#3, July 27th, 2015) for a single week, and their first two both peaked at #4 for Lonerism (LP#2, mid-Oct. 2012) and their first set Innerspeaker (LP#1, late May 2010), overall this is now their seventh LP entry too (5 studio, 1 Live, 1 EP). The album has issued four songs from it before its release, with End of Summer (out late July 2025), then Loser (HP-95, Sept. 15th) and current Top 50 entry Dracula (67 to #40) and recently issued fourth track My Old Ways. Deadbeat lands at #1 in The Netherlands and Scotland (their second in both locales), along with England, Iceland (both #4), New Zealand, Belgium (each #5), Ireland (#6), Austria, Germany (both #7), Lithuania (#9), Norway (#10), Sweden (#11), Italy (#19) and Finland (#26).
Down a single place each are the soundtrack for KPop Demon Hunters (which saw a Vinyl release last week), The Art of Loving for Olivia Dean and Man's Best Friend for Sabrina Carpenter to #3, #4 and #5 (No.14 Vinyl) respectively, while down two places apiece are You'll Be Alright, Kid for Alex Warren, I Barely Know Her by sombr and Sabrina's now 60-week running Top 10 entry Short N' Sweet dip to #8, #9 and #10 respectively.
Another local artist who debuts within the Top 10 this week is solo male singer Ruel with his second release Kicking My Feet at #6 (No.3 Vinyl), becoming his third Top 10 and fourth overall entry (2 EP's, 2 studio albums) after previous entries 4th Wall (LP#1, HP-3, March 13th, 2023) and his EP Free Time (EP#2, HP-3, late Sept. 2019). This is followed at #7 by the second album for British group The Last Dinner Party called From the Pyre (No.4 Vinyl), becoming their first Top 10 entry locally after their debut set Prelude to Ecstasy debuted and peaked at #35 (No.2 Vinyl) on February 12th, 2024. That first LP took out the #1 slot in England, their new release only scores a top-spot in Scotland, along with England (#2), The Netherlands (#7), Belgium (#8), Germany (#9), Austria (#10), Ireland (#12), Sweden (#14) and New Zealand (#24).
TOP 20: Four albums debut within this chart region, so the remaining six see Tate McRae dip one spot to #11 with So Close to What (HP-1, WI10-24), along with single-place moves for Morgan Wallen and I'm the Problem (down to #12, #1 Country Album) and Billie Eilish with HIT ME HARD & SOFT (up one to #13). Gracie Abrams holds onto the #17 spot for a fourth straight week with The Secret of Us, with larger declines seen by a six place fall to #18 for Charli XCX's BRAT and a four spot fall to #19 for Ed Sheeran's latest Play, which could rebound next week after his February 2026 tour announcement this past week.
TOP 30: Nothing rises within this section, but two albums do stay on hold, the Royel Otis set hickey at #22 and current tourist Teddy Swims with I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) at #26 for a third straight week, while his Part 1 halves its position within the On Replay Albums chart by rising six to #6.
Taylor Swift sees both of her older entries drop down this week, with The Tortured Poets Department falling five to #21 and 1989 (TsV) is down four to #24 and clocking up it's two-year chart anniversary (104 weeks), so it'll be leaving to transfer to the On Replay chart soon. Also falling four places each are Think Later for Tate McRae (to #23) and MAYHEM by Lady Gaga (to #28), while Ariana's eternal sunshine sees the smallest drop here of two spots to #25.
Larger falls are seen by a nine place slump to #27 for the Doja Cat four week old entry Vie, while Justin Bieber takes his SWAGS (I & II) down eight spots to #29. Returning to the chart at #30 (No.10 Vinyl) was the second studio album for local rock act Hoodoo Gurus and Mars Needs Guitars!, now seeing a 40th Anniversary edition on double CD and dual Vinyl (one coloured, one pictured), with 20 tracks in total, the set was reissued previously in 1996 and 2001 along with 2005 (20th Ann. Ed., 15 tracks). The set originally started it's chart life on August 12th, 1985 coming in at its peak of #5 and holding that spot for two weeks, racking up eleven weeks within the Top 10 (it was their first of five Top 10 LP's), logging 48 weeks within the Top 100, 42 within the Top 50 and charting until mid-July of 1986, scoring the #14 album of 1985 and the #50 for 1986. The album is certified ▲Platinum on this week's chart, but its wiki-page states 3xPlatinum.
TOP 40: The only NEW PEAK on the Albums chart this week sees the ROLE MODEL set Kansas Anymore rise five places to land at #35, surpassing the sets previous highest placement of #39 on Sept. 29th, while the only other rise within this chart section is the Post Malone set F-1 Trillion (up two to #39).
Smaller declines are seen by two place drops for both Sex Hysteria for Jessie Murph and GNX for Kendrick Lamar to #36 and #37 respectively, with Addison for Addison Rae falling four to #40 and Even in Arcadia by Sleep Token dropping five to #32. Larger falls are seen by a nine place drop to #34 for Ocean Alley's Love Balloon and a ten-place fall to #38 for Stray Kids and their KARMA set.
TOP 50: Half of the sets here rise back up, with Jelly Roll making a nine-place jump to #41 for his set Beautifully Broken, while rising from the lower fifty are two titles, Conan Gray and Wishbone (66 to #43) and Hilltop Hoods with Fall from the Light (57 to #45), which is helped by their current national tour, with their next show at the Big Pineapple on November 1st. The band also score a heap of Vinyl Album slots this week too; Drinking from the Sun (No.5, #1 on the Australian Artist On Replay LP Chart and Australian Hip Hop/R&B Album chart, #28 On Replay chart), State of the Art (No.7, #41 On Replay chart), The Great Expanse (No.9, #44 On Replay chart) and Walking Under Stars (No.12).
Two-place rises are seen by Lorde's Virgin (to #46) and The Kid LAROI with The First Time (to #47), while two-place drops occur for PartyNextDoor and Drake's $exy set (to #44) and Clairo with her Charm album (to #49). Laufey's A Matter of Time (to #42, #1 Jazz/Blues Album) and Benson Boone's American Heart (to #48) both fall four places each, while the album with the biggest fall within the Top 50 this week is the six-week old Twenty One Pilots set Breach to #50.
The two other Top 10 dropouts this week are Longing for Pete Murray (from #5) and Lyric with her EP The Art of Falling First (from #10), while other new entries from last week to vanish into the lower fifty this week were for Baker Boy (#13), Calum Scott (#29), Jon Stevens (#30), Not for Radio (#31), Testament (#32) and Madonna (#33).

Ok Love You Bye (Olivia Dean), Just Dance and Under The Bridge debut on the On Replay singles chart. I'm glad Just Dance is being tracked For RHCP, however, on last week's Spotify chart, Scar Tissue was #76, Can't Stop was #109 and Under The Bridge was #132. Assuming that hasn't suddenly changed this week, it's arguably more misleading to have only Under The Bridge being tracked than to have none of them.
Troye Sivan's 2023 album turns 2 years old this week, and debuts at #32 on the On Replay Australian albums chart.
Edit to add: on this week's Spotify chart, Scar Tissue is #78, Can't Stop is #123 and Under The Bridge is #124, so it is possible that Can't Stop is being tracked but genuinely not charting. Last edited:
Dom Dolla - Girl$: Gold Dom Dolla Feat. Daya - Dreamin: Platinum Dom Dolla - Saving Up: 3x Platinum Empire Of The Sun - We Are The People: 7x Platinum Lady Gaga Feat. Colby O'Donis - Just Dance: 14x Platinum Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream: 15x Platinum
Hoodoo Gurus - Mars Needs Guitar: Platinum (probably not a new cert but can't find it anywhere. Likely to be another very early ARIA cert like Sirocco or Business As Usual)
Mars Need Guitars is shown as 3xPlatinum on its wiki page (21k in units). My AMR records don't show it being certified in the 80's, and the 'Albums' chart book I have made, so far only goes to 2014 and it wasn't certified by that stage either.
It has previously been reissued in 1996 (10th Ann.) and 2005 (20th Ann.) editions.
