As Taylor Swift's The Fate of Ophelia logs a fifth week at #1 in Australia, she also ties a record for this decade.
Taylor Swift has now amassed her twentieth week at #1 during the 2020's, as The Fate of Ophelia stays the #1 song locally for a fifth week, pushing here to now the equal holder for 'Most Weeks at #1: Singles (2020's)' alongside or just ahead of Justin Bieber (20 weeks from 3 #1's, 17 of which were as a guest artist on The Kid LAROI track Stay), as Taylor has done so with seven chart-topping songs this decade, and Ophelia is still her outright second longest running #1 song ever in Australia (Anti-Hero at six weeks is the longest, as I mentioned last week). Ms. Swift also scores her 20th overall week of dual #1 occupations this week, as her single and its parent album remain at #1 for a fifth straight week, tying the five-week duopoly she previously achieved with Anti-Hero and Midnights (Oct. 31st to Nov. 28th, 2022), which was also the last time for a such a long duopoly (KPop Demon Hunters did it for six weeks between August and September 2025, but three of them were single weeks and the other three were back-to-back).
Last week Taylor tied with two other acts on the listing for 'Most Weeks at #1: Singles (1940 to 2025)', and now this week she pulls away from that tie to be outright 18th on that tally-sheet (33 weeks from 13 #1's [in the ARIA-era she is fourth]), pulling away from Eminem (32 weeks from 9 #1's) and Ed Sheeran (32 weeks from 6 #1's). She also remains the fourth highest act of all time with 13 #1 singles, but if you take out the pre-ARIA artists, she is #1 (ahead of her overall are Elvis Presley and Perry Como (14 #1's each), The Beatles (26 #1's) and Bing Crosby (27 #1's)).
The Fate of Ophelia also remains the top seller for a fifth week again in Ireland, Germany and Norway along with The U.S.A., Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland (all for a fourth week), regains the top spot in The Netherlands (third overall week), stays on hold at #2 in England, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, moves up in Malaysia (5 to #3*), Slovakia (8 to #7), Poland (13 to #11), Italy (16 to #13), Finland (17 to #16), Hungary (21 to #18), drops in Portugal (1 to #3 after 3 weeks), Czech Republic (2 to #3), Denmark, Luxembourg (both 2 to #4), Iceland (3 to #4), France (6 to #7), Hong Kong (5 to #9), Spain (9 to #13), Taiwan (13 to #14), South Africa (18 to #21) and Croatia (23 to #24).
Last week the Top 6 songs were on hold, this week there six songs within the Top 10 which are stable, four of which are the Top 4, with Olivia Dean scoring peak holds for her two entries here, a seventh week at #2 overall (third in a row) for Man I Need, which remains the top seller again in New Zealand (sixth week), along with overseas T10 berths in Netherlands, Denmark (both #2), England, The U.S.A.*, Belgium, Norway, Sweden (each #5), Ireland, Canada* (both #6), Iceland, Switzerland (all #7), Austria (#10), dropping down in Luxembourg (to #11) South Africa (#12), and Germany (#17), with a rise in Portugal (up one to #13*) and debuting in Singapore (#21). Plus Olivia's other entry here is So Easy (to Fall in Love), at #7 (UK #6*, IRE #7, NZ #4 Dutch #10, CA #30*, USA #44), plus she has one of the four new peaks in the Top 50 this week too, with more rises possibly to come as it's less than two weeks away before she arrives here, and at the moment she also has four Top 10 entries in NZ this week too.
The HUNTR/X track Golden remains at #3 for a fourth straight week, while their rivals The Saja Boys return to the Top 10 at #9 (LW #11) with their Soda Pop track (WI10-13), while the former ten-week running #1 in Golden accumulates a tenth overall stay at the summit in England, Sweden and Iceland this week, along with Malaysia and Singapore (14th week each) and Hong Kong (9th week). #2 in Ireland, Germany, The U.S.A., Canada, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg (after 4 weeks at the top), Norway, Spain (after 2 weeks at #1), Switzerland and Taiwan (after 12 weeks the top), #3 in France, The Netherlands and New Zealand, #4 in Czech Republic, Italy* and Portugal, #5 in Slovakia, #7 in Denmark, #8 in Hungary*, #9 in Poland, #15 in South Africa, #19 in Finland and Indonesia.
The last two non-movers within the Top 10 both see other tracks of theirs leaving the ten this week, with Opalite for Taylor Swift on hold at #4 for a third week, while sombr is at #8 again with 12 to 12, plus the physical edition of his album I Barely Knew Her dropped on Friday (Nov. 7th). Swapping places this week are No Broke Boys for Disco Lines with Tinashe (up one to #5, #1 Dance Single again) and Ordinary for Alex Warren (dips one to #6).
Last week's #10 spot saw a sales certification, and now this week both the accreditation and the first of four NEW PEAKS sees RAYE rising three spots to land at #10 with WHERE IS MY HUSBAND?, plus the song achieves Gold (●) in sales too. This now becomes her third Top 10 entry in Australia, after two #3 peaking tracks in Escapism (3 weeks in Jan-Feb 2023) and as a guest vocalist on the track Prada (peaked Feb 2024), giving her also a third successive year of reaching the Top 10 in Australia, while the track is also high overseas in England, Ireland (#3), Switzerland (#6*) The Netherlands (#7), Austria, Norway (both #9), New Zealand (#10*) Germany and Belgium, (#11), Denmark (#14) and Luxembourg (#15). (* = new peak)
TOP 20: Of the fourteen declining entries within the Top 50 this week, nine of them belong to Taylor Swift (as she is down to 11 Top 50 placements this week with Honey departing), with two of them landing in this chart region for Top 10 departing track Elizabeth Taylor (HP-3, WI10-4) and her GM-infused Father Figure (down six to #20), while the second of three artist who have dual entries here is sombr with back to friends (HP-3x3, WI10-19) down one to #11 and his Undressed track rises two top #16.
The other double here is from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack for The Saja Boys with Your Idol (up one to #14) and HUNTR/X with What it Sounds Like (up two to #18). Olivia Dean remains on hold at #12 with Nice to Each Other (#8 in NZ). Three further rising entries here include a two place move to #15 for Justin Bieber's DAISIES, and two tracks returning the Top 20 for Ravyn Lenae's #1 Hip Hop/R&B Single Love Me Not (up five to #19, last here on October 6th) and a ten place leap to #17 for Benson Boone's Beautiful Things (was last this high on September 1st), with Benson playing the London O2 Arena for two shows this past week, and performing alongside Brian May (Queen) at one of his shows for this track as well as the 50th Anniversary commemoration of Bohemian Rhapsody.
TOP 30: Olivia Dean scores a NEW PEAK with A Couple Minutes which jumps up thirteen places to land at #28 (NZ 13 to #9), while also rising here are Shaboozey's A Bar Song (Tipsy) (up five to #21), Fred Again.. with Victory Lap (up seven to #24, issued a new track on Friday called Beto's Horns), six-place rises for both BIRDS OF A FEATHER by Billie Eilish (to #27) and Manchild for Sabrina Carpenter (to #29, newly 2x▲Platinum), while her Tears also rise up four to land right behind at #30.
Tate McRae's Just Keep Watching (from 'F1 The Movie') drives up three places to #26, but her latest release TIT FOR TAT drops four places to #23 after sitting at #19 for the past three weeks. HUNTR/X and their track How it's Done remains stable at #22, with Taylor scoring the second and final dropping track here, also becoming the third Top 30 entry this week for her duet partner Sabrina Carpenter as The Life of a Showgirl drops down nine spots to #25...
TOP 40: ...plus Taylor's sees three double-digit and four overall songs fall into the forty, down nine to #32 is Wood, falling ten is Wi$h Li$t (to #31), dropping eleven is CANCELLED! (to #39) and a thirteen place slide to #38 for Actually Romantic (she also has two larger drops in the next section).
Nothing else declines here, just one final non-mover at #36 for Free from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, while the HUNTR/X song Takedown leaps over this stable entry by climbing three spots to #35, while a third South Korean act sees a rise here for KATSEYE and their Gabriela, rebounding seven places to #33 (HP-27).
After falling from 40 to #50 last week the Tame Impala track Dracula rebounds this week thirteen places to land at a NEW PEAK of #37 (#1 Australian Artists Single), which also saw it rise in the Halloween week (last Friday Oct. 31st fell into this week's chart period), while overseas titles like Thriller for MJ (UK #9, IRE #11) Ghostbusters (UK & IRE each #17) and Monster Mash (UK & IRE both #20) saw rebounds too. Die with a Smile for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars moves up three to #34 and the third and final new sales cert here goes again to Sabrina Carpenter with her track When Did You Get Hot?, up two to #40 and now Gold (●) in sales too.

Taylor Swift's two biggest declines within the Top 50 this week are for Ruin the Friendship (down fourteen to #44) and Eldest Daughter (down fifteen to #47), while the two other drops here are Sugar on My Tongue for Tyler, the Creator (dips one to #48) and Sports Car for Tate McRae (down six to #49).
A fifth week at #1 for Taylor's The Life of a Showgirl, also racking up her 20th overall duopoly too.
The Life of a Showgirl and it's fifth week at #1 in Australia becomes her equal third longest run at the top of the local Album charts, as previously 1989 (TsV) spent it's first 11 weeks at the top (from Nov. 6th, 2023, this week two years ago), with Midnights securing six weeks in it's second stint at the top (from Dec. 19th, 2022), while this week's fifth week ties with that sets initial entry (5 weeks from October 31st 2022).
Taylor has also secured this week's #1 spot in the past with: 08-Nov-2010 - Speak Now (1 week only) 12-Nov-2012 - Red (3rd and final week) 10-Nov-2014 - 1989 (2nd of 9 weeks) 20-Nov-2017 - Reputation (entry week, one week shy of this week) 22-Nov-2021 - Red (TsV) (entry week, one week shy again) 07-Nov-2022 - Midnights (2nd of 16 weeks) 13-Nov-2023 - 1989 (TsV) (2nd of 14 weeks) 10-Nov-2025 - The Life of a Showgirl (5th week)
It's now a 73rd overall week at #1 for Taylor Swift from her 14 chart-topping albums, with her tally for this decade now up to 57 weeks. The Life of a Showgirl is also at No.5 on the Vinyl Sales chart and overseas it reigns again in The Netherlands (also fifth week), The U.S.A. and Canada (both fourth week), sitting at #2 in New Zealand (LW #1) and Ireland (LW #2), #3 in England (LW #3) and also #4 in Germany (LW-2). Of the nine dual #1's that Taylor has now racked up, this week becomes her 20th overall duopoly of both charts, as The Fate of Ophelia also logs a fifth week as the #1 selling single locally.
The second and third (of four) non-movers within the Top 10 this week sees the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving stable at #2 and #3 respectively, with Olivia seeing a Vinyl boost for the set this week, plus the regains the #1 LP spot in New Zealand for a second week (along with four Top 10 singles entries there too) and a first week in Ireland, while it sits at #4 in Canada, (new peak), England and The Netherlands and at a new chart height of #6 in The U.S.A., with the fourth and final stable entry here at #9 for the Alex Warren set You'll Be Alright, Kid.

This week last year the Tyler, the Creator set CHROMAKOPIA was sitting at #1 for a second week (11-Nov), now the set rebounds forty-nine places this week to #5, claiming a sixth overall week within the Top 10 thanks to a physical release of the album, securing the No.2 Vinyl slot and the #1 Hip Hop/R&B Album position too, with the set last within the Top 20 on September 1st and 8th (#16 & #15 respectively) during his national tour here.
Sabrina Carpenter again has two albums within the Top 10, her latest Man's Best Friend dips two places to #6 (No.10 Vinyl {it's first week out of the Top 5 too}) , with that set seeing two new singles sales certs this week, while Short N' Sweet is up one spot to #10 (WI10-61). Lily Allen sees her new entry from last week West End Girl only dip two places to #8, with the set seeing a new Top 50 single at #50 for Pussy Palace, plus streaming services listings show growth for her songs West End Girl and Madeline. The set also rose in England (4 to #2), Ireland (5 to #4), New Zealand (6 to #5), The Netherlands (62 to #36), and entries in both Canada (#60) and The U.S.A. (#118) this past week.
Returning to the Top 10 with a 20th Anniversary Edition is the debut solo release for Bernard Fanning called Tea & Sympathy, which started its chart life on November 7th, 2005, debuting in the top spot for a single week and securing sixteen initial weeks within the Top 10 (22 in total) plus 74 weeks within the Top 100 and the EOY spots of #24 (2005) and #13 (2006). The new #7 return position increases its Top 10 tally to 23 weeks, plus the set is the No.1 selling Vinyl this week, along with #1 Australian Artist Album, the #1 Australian On Replay Album and #1 On Replay Album too.
TOP 20: Two albums rise within the Top 20, both a single place, with Tate McRae's So Close to What up to #11 and seeing it's first sales certification of Gold (●) in sales (after 37 weeks of charting) while Ed Sheeran's Play also climbs a sole-spot to #19. There are also three non-movers here too for sombr and I Barely Know Her (physical editions issued on Friday Nov. 7th), Morgan Wallen with I'm the Problem (#1 Country Album) and The Secret of Us for Gracie Abrams at #13, #14 and #18 respectively.
Tame Impala's Deadbeat (HP-2, WI10-2) falls down seven places this week to #17 (No.15 Vinyl), with smaller declines seen by single-place drops for both HIT ME HARD & SOFT by Billie Eilish (to #16) and BRAT for Charli XCX (to #20).
TOP 30: Tate McRae's other entry has two feats this week, it stays at #23 for a third straight week, while after 94 weeks of charting it's also newly Gold (●) in sales too, while the other non-mover here is Lady Gaga's MAYHEM at #26, plus only two sets rise here for Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department (to #21, 1989 (TsV) left the chart this week from #24 to the On Replay chart at #26) and Jelly Roll with Beautifully Broken (to #30).
Dave sees his first local Top 10 album fall fifteen places this week to #22 for The Boy Who Played the Harp, with dual eleven-place falls seen by both Son of Spergy for Daniel Caesar and hickey for Royel Otis to #27 and #28 respectively, while Ariana Grande's eternal sunshine dips two places this week to #29, possibly slowing its descent due to her second Wicked film coming out soon (plus promos and specials this past week screened on TV).
TOP 40: Addison Rae rebounds eleven places with her Addison set to #35, with the only two further climbers here being GNX for Kendrick Lamar and Sex Hysteria for Jessie Murph to #38 and #39 respectively.
Two albums notch up their half-a-year (26 weeks) milestones this week for Sleep Token with Even in Arcadia (down three to #31) and recent tourist Teddy Swims' I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) (down six to #36). ROLE MODEL dips one spot to #33 with Kansas Anymore, JB's SWAG I + II falls five to #34, Ocean Alley's Love Balloon deflates three to #37 and Doja Cat sees her Vie fall seven spots to land at #40.
TOP 50: The tenth and final non-mover within the Top 50 this week is the Laufey set A Matter of Time (#1 Jazz/Blues Album) at #41, with four albums rising back up here too. The Kid LAROI and The First Time is up three to #44 and racks up it's one-year (52 weeks) accumulated tally, as the set might disappear from the Top 100 soon as it's due for it's two-year release anniversary (started it's chart life on Nov. 20th, 2023).

Wonderwall climbs #34 to #5 on the On Replay singles chart, but Oasis have no other entries. On the latest daily Spotify chart, Wonderwall is #30, Don't Look Back In Anger is #44 and Champagne Supernova is #175, so clearly Don't Look Back In Anger is missing.
Blinding Lights, Bring Me To Life and Billie Jean debut this week. Blinding Lights appears to have had a big and very brief up-swing this week; I don't know why. Bring Me To Life looks like it was mildly helped by Halloween (Billie Jean is less clear). Sweet Disposition seems to have rebounded back after its sudden fall last week.
AC/DC's songs have been boosted somewhat by their current touring (like Oasis and Metallica); I hope they keep climbing because I'd like to know whether It's A Long Way To The Top is being tracked. Despite Halloween, Teeth (5SOS) falls 5 spots (on the On Replay Australian singles chart).
"1989 (Taylor's Version)" turns 2 years old and debuts at #26 on the On Replay albums chart (the original album is #38). "The Best Of The Wiggles" appears to also turn 2 this week and debuts at #44 on the Australian version (I'm guessing from just sales).
Edit: actually, "The Best Of The Wiggles" (which has 80 tracks) appears to contain a lot of new recordings/versions, so it probably has a streaming component too. Last edited:
I saw that there was also a TikTok trend relating to "Billie Jean" recently, that just so happened to concurrently line up with Halloween (which might just help the song a little in general by association).
"Blinding Lights" I think also may have been Halloween boosted, one of those nebulous picks on Spotify's 'Halloween Party' playlist that pops up as the first result. It's a funny choice given The Weeknd has some more specifically tailored songs for the purpose I'd say
I'm not sure what to make of that because the US looks like a Halloween trajectory, but the global and AU positions look like either a coincidence or overlapping with something else.
Hmm. It's hard to tell because there's no good equivalent (maybe "Dracula" but it's too new to have settled). There's no doubt it was influenced, but it's hard to say how much else there is, or if its subsequent days just look better because it's always getting better daily figures than "Monster Mash" and the like, so it's not gonna crash out as fast.
It's a bit like how we know Mariah & Wham! don't just vanish after Christmas because they last quite a bit longer in the UK where they're obviously a bit more enthusiastic.
(I'll also admit that as an avid watcher of the most streamed songs of all time list, I've noticed "Blinding Lights" has had a pretty good few months after slowing down behind "Shape Of You" for a while).
I'm not sure whether Thriller did enough to be charting... it had one day at #29 on Australian Spotify and no more in the top 200, though it would be higher with combined versions, and maybe it does particularly well on YouTube.
I saw the Kylie album through a notification of the countdown on Spotify and I was like...how many times has she reissued that album already? Let it go Kylie
