Australia's Chartifacts by Gavin Ryan w/c 17th of November 2025.
Chart Highlights:
* Sixth week of dual #1's for Taylor Swift.
* Taylor scores thirteen new sales certifications this week, ten singles and three albums.
* Olivia Dean continues her domination too, with two peak holds and two new peaks.
* Paul Kelly sees his 30th LP enter at #2, while Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers also land a Top 10 entry.
* One Top 10 single debut for newcomer HAVEN., with further OZ LP entries from James Blundell, Stella Donnelly, Icecream Hands, Cosmic Psychos and Wade Forster.
Taylor Swift scores her equal longest #1 single as The Fate of Ophelia logs a sixth week as the top selling song in Australia.
The Fate of Ophelia now ties Anti-Hero (six weeks from Oct. 31st, 2022) as Taylor's longest run at #1 locally, but with Olivia Dean in the country this coming week, could it also be her final stay for now. Taylor also increases her tally for 'Weeks at #1: Singles' for an overall total now of 34 weeks and a 2020's tally of 21 weeks, now the outright highest total for this decade, surpassing the 20 weeks accumulated by Justin Bieber. After six week of sales the #1 song is newly certified as ▲Platinum in sales, with all of the Top 50 entries for Taylor this week scoring a new accreditation.
With both Taylor's single and album continuing to dominate, each for a sixth straight week, it also becomes the longest continual duopoly since June 27th to August 8th of 2011 when Adele's Someone Like You and her second set 21 held for a seven week stretch, while this is now the third six-week (consecutive and non-consecutively) dual-occupation in the past 14 months after Sabrina Carpenter (6 weeks from Sept. 2nd, 2024) and the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and single (6 weeks from Aug. 4th, 2025) both became broken dual occupants.
Taylor also has the dual #1's overseas in England (both the single and album return for a fourth overall week), The U.S.A. and Canada (each for a fifth week), with the Ophelia track also at the top overseas in Germany, Ireland, Norway (all for a 6th week), Austria, Belgium, Switzerland (all 5th week), The Netherlands (4th week), regains the #1 spot in Czech Republic (returns for a 3rd week), remains on hold in New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden (each #2), Malaysia, Portugal (both #3), Denmark (#4), France (#7) and Poland (#11), rises in Iceland, Luxembourg, (both 4 to #2*), Slovakia (7 to #4, HP-2), Italy (13 to #7, HP-6), Finland (16 to #11, HP-5), Hungary (18 to #13), and drops in Hong Kong (9 to #11), Spain (13 to #14), Taiwan (14 to #15) and South Africa (21 to #23).
Olivia Dean is due to appear and present at the ARIA Awards this coming week (Nov. 19th), which could help her #2 occupancy from an eighth week become her first #1 single, as Man I Need sees it's second overall run of four-weeks-at-#2 occur, initially that happened from Sept. 15th to Oct. 6th, with this current run starting on October 27th. Olivia also has another multi-week peak hold occuring within the Top 10 too, as So Easy (to Fall in Love) remains at #7 for a third straight week, plus it picks up a Gold (●) in sales too. Olivia also has the dual New Zealand #1's again this week too, with Man scoring a seventh non-consecutive as their top selling single and her album picks up a fourth week as their #1 set, plus she again has four Top 10 entries there too. Overseas Man I Need is at #2 in The Netherlands and Denmark, #4 in England and Sweden, #5 in The U.S.A. and Norway, #6 in Canada, #7 in Ireland, #10 in Portugal*, repeaking at #12 in Germany and on hold at the same position in South Africa, and #18 in Singapore*.
This week half of the Top 10 remain on hold (as opposed to six for the past two weeks), with a second six-week non-mover at #3 for the HUNTR/X track Golden, which picks up an extra sales certification of 4x▲Platinum in sales, matching the soundtrack albums spot this week of #3. The song remains the top seller overseas in Malaysia and Singapore (both 15th week), Iceland and Sweden (both 11th week), regains the top spot in Luxembourg (5th overall week), while it loses the #1 slot in both England (after 10 broken weeks, TW #2) and Hong Kong (after 9 weeks, TW #3). It holds steady in Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, The U.S.A., Canada, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland and Taiwan (all #2), The Netherlands (#3), Czech Republic, Portugal (both #4), Slovakia (#5) and Denmark (#7), rises in Italy (4 to #3*) and Finland (19 to #17), dipping slightly in Spain (2 to #3), Hungary (8 to #9), Poland (9 to #10) and South Africa (15 to #18).
The fifth and final stable Top 10 entry sees the #1 Dance Single No Broke Boys for Disco Lines and Tinashe at #5, while last week's #4 and #6 swap-over around the #5 non-mover, with Alex Warren's Ordinary up two spots to #4 (WI10-33, now the equal 15th longest of all time), while Taylor's only other Top 10 entry in Opalite drops two spots to land at #6, plus it's newly ▲Platinum in sales too.
Debuting at #8 is the first single for British producer and singer Harrison Walker, known as HAVEN. with the his just over 2 minute long lo-fi, trip-hop track I Run (also #2 debut on Dance Singles Chart), with the TikTok track courting some controversy overseas this past week for potential copyright infringements, thus it was not included in the UK or Irish charts this week, but it did manage to debut overseas in Austria (#20), New Zealand (#33), Germany (#42), The Netherlands (#50), along with #8 spots in the both the UK and U.S. Dance Charts.
RAYE continues her weekly NEW PEAK climb with WHERE IS MY HUSBAND? this week scoring a new chart height of #9, while a David Guetta remix of the track was issued on Friday, so that could boost it again next week, the song holds its peak in England, Ireland (both #3) Norway (#9) and New Zealand (#10), rises in The Netherlands (#7 to #5*), Belgium (11 to #8, HP-7), Luxembourg (15 to #10*), Denmark (14 to #12*), Canada (42 to #34*) and The U.S.A. (70 to #65*), rebounds in Germany (11 to #7, HP-6), Sweden (#8 re-entry, HP-6) and debuts in Iceland (#19), Czech Republic (#21), Portugal (#22) and Poland (#24). (* = new peak)
After this is the first of three tracks within the Top 20 for sombr, with his album I Barely Know Her seeing a rebound back up to #5 (HP #4) this week thanks to a physical release, plus his tour here at the start of December sees his third Top 10 entry this year in 12 to 12 only dip two places to land at #10...
TOP 20: ...while he is back-to-back with himself this week as his 19-week running second Top 10 placement back to friends remains on hold at #11, plus he continues his stable entries with his first and highest charted single Undressed not moving from the #16 spot, plus it picks up a 3x▲Platinum sales certification too, while there are two more non-movers here in the Olivia Dean track Nice to Each Other at #12 for a third straight week, and DAISIES for Justin Bieber at #15 (newly 2x▲Platinum in sales).
The only Top 10 dropout this week sees the Saja Boys track Soda Pop (HP-4x2, WI10-13), along with their Your Idol song, both drop down four places each to #13 and #18 respectively, while they also both increase to 2x▲Platinum in sales too.
The fifth and final new sales cert here goes to Taylor Swift's Elizabeth Taylor track, which is down one spot to #14 and newly Gold (●) in sales, with the fourth and final declining entry here being Beautiful Things for Benson Boone down two places to land at #19. Two songs manage to rise back up here, Love Me Not for Ravyn Lenae (up two to #17, #1 Hip Hop/R&B Single) and A Bar Song (Tipsy) for Shaboozey (up one to #20), which was last within the Top 20 on July 7th (#16).
TOP 30: The second of five NEW PEAKS within the Top 50 this week sees the second of two new chart heights for Olivia Dean tracks, as A Couple Minutes rises three places this week to land at #25 (NZ NEW PEAK of #6), with the only other rising entry within the Top 30 being the Fred Again.. track Victory Lap moving up two places to #22. He saw a new track called Talk of the Town rise this past week in Ireland (22 to #4) and debut in England (#22) and New Zealand (#40).
Both of the stable entries here belong to Tate McRae with both TIT FOR TAT and Just Keep Watching not moving from #23 and #26 respectively. The two KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack entries here are for What it Sounds Like (18 to #21) and How it's Done (22 to #24) for HUNTR/X, while Billie Eilish cracks one-a-half-years charted as BIRDS OF A FEATHER cracks 78 weeks and dips two places to #29.
Taylor Swift scores a Gold (●) sales certification for two tracks here in Father Figure (down seven to #27) and The Life of a Showgirl (down three to #28) alongside Sabrina Carpenter, who also has her Manchild single dipping one spot to land at #30...
TOP 40: ...plus Sabrina also has her Tears shedding three places to pool in the #33 spot, while Taylor also picks up another Gold (●) accreditation for Wi$h Li$t, which dips one place to #32, with small drops also seen here for Gabriela for KATSEYE (down two to #35), Die With a Smile for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars (down two to #36), the two final Top 50 KPop Demon Hunters songs in Free (down one to #37) and Takedown (falls three to #38).
Olivia Dean's second NEW PEAK this week sees her former #39 peak (Oct. 27th) for Baby Steps be superseded by a ten place leap this week to land at #31, while another NEW PEAK here goes to Tame Impala's track Dracula, up three to land at #34 (#1 Australian Single), the song is also charting overseas in England (#25, HP-21), Ireland (#15 peak hold), The Netherland (29 to #25*), The U.S.A. (39 to #30*) and Canada (44 to #39*). The last two rising entries here see two 56-week old entries both rebound, That's So True for Gracie Abrams (up six to #39) and APT. for Rosé and Bruno Mars (up three to #40).
TOP 50: One final NEW PEAK within the Top 50 this week sees Kehlani's Folded track move up one spot to #41, surpassing the #42 peak it previously reached last week and on October 6th, with the four further rising entries here being I Had Some Help for Post Malone and Morgan Wallen (up two to #44), Sports Car for Tate McRae (up two to #47) and four places rebounds for both Messy for Lola Young (52 to #48) and THE DAYS - NOTION Remix for Chrystal (54 to #50), which rises to now 4x▲Platinum in sales too.
Of the five sales certs here, four of them are Gold (●) in sales which all belong to Taylor Swift's declining entries; Wood (down ten to #42), Ruin the Friendship (dips one to #45), Actually Romantic (falls eight to #46) and CANCELLED! (drops ten places to land at #49), while the fifth and final decline here sees another Sabrina Carpenter song in When Did You Get Hot? moves down three spots to #43.
NEW ENTRY * #8 - I Run - HAVEN. (Isekai/Broke/Against All Odds) Last edited:
A sixth straight week at #1 for Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl, becoming her equal second longest continual run at the top in Australia.
This time two years ago the Taylor Swift version of her 1989 set was spending it's third week at #1 (started Nov. 6th, 2023), eventually holding the top berth for eleven straight weeks (until Jan. 15th, 2024) and in doing so it became Taylor's longest continual stay in the #1 spot. Another year earlier and her Midnights set was at the top, having so far also secured three weeks at the LP-summit of an initial five week run, before regaining the #1 slot on December 19th, 2022 for a six week run (until Jan. 23rd, 2023). So this week The Life of a Showgirl (also No.3 Vinyl) secured its sixth stay to now become her equal second longest run at the top in Australia.
And after six weeks at #1 The Life of a Showgirl has also sold enough to be certified for the first time, at 2x▲Platinum in sales, while she also sees new certs for older titles in Reputation (now 6x▲Platinum; #13 On Replay) and 1989 (TsV) (up to 3x▲Platinum; #28 On Replay) and her ten singles within the Top 50 also ALL get new sales certifications too. Taylor also again has both the #1 single and album this week for a sixth straight week, her 21st duopoly in total, plus she also has the dual-occupations in England (she returns to #1 on both charts for fourth week), The U.S.A. and Canada (for a fifth straight week), along with high spots in Ireland and New Zealand (both #2), Germany and The Netherlands (each #3).
Taylor increases her overall tally on the 'Accumulated Weeks at #1: Albums' on both the overall (1965 to 2025) listing to 74 weeks and for this decade (2020's) she is up to 58 weeks. Several threats to Taylor's reign should be considered for next week's #1 spot: 5 Seconds of Summer issued their sixth studio album on Friday called Everyone's a Star, and with all of their previous five studio albums debuting at #1 the pressure is on again for next week's chart, but there is also the ARIA Award factor (held Wednesday the 19th of November) with current high flying singer Olivia Dean set to attend the event (and present awards no doubt) she could retake the #1 spot back (debuted at the top on October 6th), or even both charts, we'll have to wait and see.
This week's #1 threat came from Paul Kelly's thirtieth studio album called Seventy, which enters at #2 (No.1 Vinyl, #1 Australian Artists Album), becoming his 14th Top 10 placement (11 studio, 1 live, 2 GH's) and his 38th overall Albums entry since his first in 1981 (27 studio, 4 Live, 4GH's, 3EP's). This new release comes one year after his last set Fever Longing Still (HP-3, Nov. 11th, 2024) and the new 70 title features a follow-up to his classic Christmas song How to Make Gravy called Rita Wrote a Letter, along with featured singers Meg Wahsington and Rebecca Barnard (from Rebecca's Empire) as well as working with Dan Kelly and Billy Miller (The Ferrets) and using poetry from W.B. Yeats (Trk.10) and Denis Glover (Trk.8).
Dipping one spot each are the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and The Art of Loving for Olivia Dean to #3 and #4 (No.17 Vinyl, third week at #1 in NZ and Ireland) respectively, after which is a jump of eight places back to #5 (HP #4) for the sombr debut set I Barely Know Her, which benefits from a Vinyl release and coming at No.2 on that chart this week, while he is due to tour here in a few weeks time, so the album should hang around within the Top 10 for the rest of the year.
After eleven weeks of charting the Sabrina Carpenter set Man's Best Friend receives a Gold (●) in sales, while the album remains on hold at #6 (No.9 Vinyl), with her previous release Short N' Sweet rising back up two places this week to hold onto the #8 slot. Alex Warren also rebounds two places to #7 with You'll Be Alright, Kid and down two to #10 is Lily Allen's West End Girl.
The second and final Top 10 debut is also an Aussie act in Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers with their second release GLORY coming in at #9 (No.7 Vinyl), which becomes the second Top 10 placement for the four-piece all-female rock band from Canberra, with their debut release I Love You making it to #6 upon entry (Oct. 16th, 2023) and logging a single week within the Top 100.
TOP 20: The first of two NEW PEAKS within the Top 50 this week sees the Hayley Williams entry from last week Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party this week jumping seven places to land at #17 (No.4 Vinyl), with three more rises within the Top 20 for I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen (up two to #12, #1 Country Album half-a-year charted at 26 weeks), HIT ME HARD & SOFT for Billie Eilish (up three to #13, one-and-a-half years charted at 78 weeks) and The Secret of Us for Gracie Abrams (up two to #16).
Two of the three albums which leave the Top 10 land within the Top 20 this week, with the Tyler, the Creator set CHROMAKOPIA (HP-1x2, WI10-6) falling nine to #14 (No.6 Vinyl, #1 Hip Hop/R&B Album) and Everybody Scream for Florence + the Machine (HP-4, WI10-1) tumbles sixteen places to #20 (also No.20 Vinyl), with the third and final decline here being a one-spot dip to #18 for Tame Impala and Deadbeat.
The two albums on hold here are Ed Sheeran's Play at #19, with his Netflix special coming out next Friday (Nov. 21st), this could boost his album back up before his tour here next year, while Tate McRae remains stable at #11 with So Close to What...
TOP 30: ...while ten places lower Tate sees a two place rise to #21 for her previous album Think Later, with more two-place climbs seen by MAYHEM for Lady Gaga (to #24) and Even in Arcadia for Sleep Token (to #29), while further rises are attributed to eternal sunshine for Ariana Grane (up three to #26), Addison for Addison Rae (up five to #30) and the second NEW PEAK this week for ROLE MODEL's Kansas Anymore, which rises six places to a new chart height of #27, helped possibly by their digital selling song Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.
Royel Otis have the only non-mover here at #28 with their hickey set, while only two albums decline here, BRAT for Charli XCX (she issued a new track on Friday called Chains of Love) and The Tortured Poets Department for Taylor Swift to #22 and #23 respectively.
TOP 40: With the Ariana album rising, it's due to the imminent release of the second Wicked film this time called Wicked: For Good, which opens locally next Thursday (Nov. 20th) followed by the second soundtrack issued next Friday (Nov. 21st). This week the Wicked: The Soundtrack album rebounded back into the Top 50 by flying up thirteen places to plant itself at #40, with the set last within the fifty on February 24th.
With four albums debuting within this section, the five others are rising sets for Jessie Murph and her Sex Hysteria (up four to #35, a Deluxe edition was issued on Friday) and GNX for Kendrick Lamar (up one to #37). Justin Bieber's SWAG I + II only moves down two places to #36, while bigger drops are seen by The Boy Who Played the Harp for Dave (down twelve to #34) and recent tourist here Jelly Roll with Beautifully Broken (falls nines to #39), with his tour in Mexico starting this past week (Nov. 14th).
TOP 50: Touring this week are RüFüS DU SOL (who finish up at the end of the month), which sees their October 2024 #3 set Inhale / Exhale return to the chart this week at #47, having played Melbourne shows this past week, with Sydney this coming week. Other current tours include:
* AC/DC (Thunderstruck #16 On Replay Singles, plus High Voltage (#5), Back in Black (#7), Who Made Who (#12), Highway to Hell (#15), T.N.T. (#19), Power Up (#33), and Live #44 all on the On Replay Australian Artists Album chart, along with Thunderstruck (#3), You Shook Me All Night Long (#6), Highway to Hell (#8), Back in Black (#16), T.N.T. (#30) and It's a Long Way to the Top (if You Wanna Rock N' Roll) (#49) within the On Replay Australian Singles chart).
* Oasis ({What's the Story} Morning Glory #1 On Replay LPs, Definitely Maybe #3 On Replay LPs, Wonderwall #5 On Replay Singles).
* Metallica (Metallica #16 On Replay LPs, Enter Sandman #9 On Replay Singles).
Two other albums rebound here too, with Stray Kids' KARMA up five places to #41 (they drop a new EP in five days called DO IT) and Sam Fender with People Watching (up two to #45). Smaller declines are seen by the Post Malone F-1 Trillion set and $ome $exy $ongs 4 U for PartyNextDoor and Drake, both down four please each to #46 and #49 respectively. Seven place drops occur for both Love Balloon by Ocean Alley (to #44) and A Matter of Time for Laufey (to #48, #1 Jazz/Blues Album).
Double-digit-declines go to Son of Spergy for Daniel Caesar (drops fifteen places to #42) and the third and final Top 10 departure for this week sees the repackaged 20th Anniversary Edition of Tea & Sympathy for Bernard Fanning (HP #1, WI10-23) tumble thirty-six spots this week to #43, while other high-placed entries from last week departing the Top 50 this week for Cloning (#12), Radiohead (#15), The Belair Lip Bombs (#25) and Bob Dylan (#32).

Iris returns to #1 on the On Replay singles chart, after 9 weeks of Lose Control. Wonderwall holds at #5 and Don't Look Back In Anger is still missing. However, Scar Tissue and Can't Stop have begun being tracked! They debut at #22 and #33 respectively (Under The Bridge re-enters at #42). Piano Man and Everlong also debut this week. It hadn't occurred to me that Everlong was no longer around, after spending almost all of 2023 within the ARIA top 100. Billy Joel, on the other hand, has not been in the (singles) top 100 since 1997, I believe.
RÜFÜS DU SOL's 3 charting songs climb into the top 20 of the Australian version, which is how I learn that they're currently touring. No 4th entry for them, which I'd guess is probably genuine because, on current global Spotify plays, their next-biggest song (apart from a 2025 remix of a 2024 song), Next To Me, is only getting half as many plays as their #3. However, my wish to know whether It's A Long Way To The Top is being tracked has been granted, as it debuts at #49! It ranks as their 6th-biggest song on this chart, compared to being their 9th-biggest on Spotify worldwide (behind Hells Bells, Shoot To Thrill and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap), which is about what I expected, but I'm glad to actually find out (assuming, of course, that the other songs aren't actually ahead but not being tracked).
As if Sabrina Carpenter falling from #1 to #50 on the 2nd week of the On Replay albums chart wasn't enough, Bernard Fanning falls completely out from #1, a fall in consumption so drastic that... Wish You Well climbs 8 spots on its chart.
On the Australian albums On Replay chart, AC/DC climb #32 to #5 with "High Voltage" and debut at #19 with "T.N.T.". For context: their Australian debut album "High Voltage" contains none of their best-known songs; their 2nd album "T.N.T." contains "T.N.T.", "It's A Long Way To The Top" and "High Voltage" (yes, the song was "inspired by [the title] of the previous album"); a slight modification of the latter was released as their international debut album under the title "High Voltage" (which is what you'll find on Spotify). I assume the "High Voltage" charting is the international one, but I wonder how streams are assigned, or why they're not combined when they're almost the same (maybe historical reasons). I'm guessing they're charting from mostly sales (maybe being sold at their concerts?), as their streams wouldn't have moved that much in one week. RÜFÜS's "Atlas" (their 2013 album) also debuts at #38
The week the On Replay charts began, there were 7 old-enough songs in the top 130 of the Spotify weekly chart that weren't in the On Replay singles chart. 4 of those have begun being tracked (You Should Probably Leave, Every Breath You Take, Can't Stop and Scar Tissue), T-Pain's "Up Down (Do This All Day)" has disappeared back into the depths it came from, and Radiohead's "Let Down" is probably too low now as well, leaving only Radiohead's "Creep" still missing of those. Teenage Dirtbag has been in the Spotify top 100 for the last 7 weeks though, so that's a new missing one. Last edited:
Interesting reality check moment with Bernard Fanning there, as he's actually managed to remain in the ARIA top 50 albums, so he couldn't be far off there, but it's funny to think of how relatively cramped that On Replay chart is. A 7-43 drop on the main chart matching a 1-60ish (maybe) drop there.
Is Olivia Dean performing or presenting at the ARIA Awards? I Know international artists generally present but they may have changed things since I last watched them.
